wasn't sure what to expect with this restaurant, but i quite enjoyed my experience! staff was lovely and helpful when we had some complications arise with our reservation. to drink, i ordered the smashed blackberry Mojito which was simply divine, and i would get again and again. for food, i got the tap 42 salad. they asked if I wanted the chicken just grilled or blackened; I opted for blackened, but would definitely get grilled next time. It was burnt and dry, but edible once mixed in with the salad. The rest of the salad was good flavor and enjoyable to eat. But I feel like there wasn't enough lettuce/greens. All the rest of the veggies on top dominated, which isn't bad, just not my preference. It is a busy restaurant with lots seating (indoor and out), but surprisingly, it wasn't too loud. read more

Tap 42... time to work on your service experience to match that of your FLL FLagship location. Great bar service the first two visits, and the food was on-the-level. I had a decent smashburger, and lettuce wraps on a separate visit. Again, the food was tops. The negative is sitting at the bar on the third visit, along the back wall area, with only two other people seated, and not being greeted in any way. We even decided to move to the other side of the bar, to be in direct eye-shot, no luck. Sat for five minutes, not seen or greeted. My GF looked at me and says "the energy is not right, let's bail". No shortage of service people, hosts, etc outside of the bar area. While bailing out, I did mention to the hostess why we were exiting. I refuse to beg for service attention while sitting at a bar. I am paying you and tip handsomely for the experience... Your loss. Plenty of other bar dining options in the Mercato. read more

First time visit. Came for brunch with our family of 4. Service was good. It was busy being a holiday. Food was very good. Beautiful presentation on black plates. I was pleasantly surprised. The food, service, and decor is well worth the price. Their special dining menu for $29 is an impressive deal. I went with the Philly cheesesteak egg rolls, smash burger, truffle fries, and strawberry shortcake. Clearly, I decided to go the low-cal route. I'd say the Philly egg rolls were the equivalent of one egg roll cut in half. They were crispy, cheesy, and came with delicious dipping sauces. I'm a big fan of sauces. The smash burger was incredible. It had two patties and was tender, juicy, and flavorful. The truffle fries were good, but next time I'd order something else since I prefer extra-crispy fries. Again, great sauces came with the burger, so I was sold. Hello, strawberry shortcake!!! I wanted to drink the sauce with a straw. The cake was spongy and soaked up the rich caramel tres leches sauce. I skipped the strawberries because they were a little mushy, but that wouldn't stop me from ordering the dessert again. Our server, Eddie, was top-notch. My soda was refilled every time without me having to ask. Silverware was replaced with each course. Eddie was friendly and knowledgeable. The interior is super cute and very well decorated. We came here with a table of 9 with reservation and were seated outside. We were celebrating my birthday. The place is pretty spacious with indoor and outdoor seating. Plenty of space for large parties. There's also a rooftop bar with a live band that opens at 7 pm. We had sliders, chicken and waffles, wagyu steak and noodle bowl, guacamole and chips, chicken lettuce wrap and drinks. Our server, Daphne, was friendly, fun and helpful serving our large party. We are a party of 10 who was lucky enough to snag a reservation opening night. Because it was day one, and because we knew we had a fairly large group, we did not know what to expect; in a nutshell, to say that Tap 42 far exceeded our expectations would be an understatement. The service: top notch. In 2024, when it is now commonplace for service to seem like an afterthought, these guys knocked it out of the park. Hosts, servers, and all the other staff were kind, knowledgeable, and fun! The food: WOW! We almost all got something different so that we share a bit and try a bit of each of the varied menu. Absolutely impressed by the quality. My personal favorites were the Wagyu steak bowl (entree) and the lettuce wraps (appetizer). The ambience: gorgeous place! The lighting was especially beautiful. They were really cool to bring us a round of celebratory dessert shots as well. We loved our experience so much that we requested a reservation for the very next night before we even left the table. So the next night, we went back, and somehow they managed to top our first night experience! We got to meet one of the owners and he sent us some things to taste, all of which were amazing. This is our group's new favorite and you can bet we will be back every time we are in town from here on out. Oh and did I mention there was a (really good) live DJ playing both nights? They have the most expensive Happy Hour in town. I would say it's expensive even for regular price! Maybe it's this way because it is craft beer and maybe that is limited. Most of the staff is dingy. One time when i came in there was a girl within an age range of mine sitting with a vacant seat next to her at the bar and i asked if it was occupied and she said no. After chatting her up, she said she wanted to have a quiet dinner at the bar, and i asked her did she ask about getting a table especially with so many available. When third person arrived Izzie was there once again. We ordered the Truffle Street CornGuacamole appetizer to share. It was delicious. Ate every bite. We also ordered the side Petite Signature Caesar Salads (2), Roasted Brussel sprouts, and one person ordered Grilled Chicken Avocado Salad (she took home half of it). Everything was delicious. Food was delivered very quickly. We liked our mixed drinks and wine orders very much. Happy hour at bar is 4-7 and the food and drinks are at a great price. The food and drinks were good I will give them that. However the food I received was not what I ordered. All I ended up eating from it was my side. I ordered a burger and the minute I bit into it knew it wasn't right. It took a very long time for the food to arrive and had already waited on a different order to be remade that arrived incorrect so I did not want to wait for anything else to be made. My experience could have been rated better but seeing as I was charged for the food that I did not receive correctly, and were intent that it remain as so, I will not be returning here. I have never had this type of experience at any other restaurant let alone any other Tap42 location. My recommendation, go to the Fort Myers location or eat somewhere else. read more
