    NASHVILLE CHICKEN SANDWICH
    Arthur S.

This was a late night stop after a long night of hopping down the Newbury Street if you know what I mean. They have some specials, when you buy any drink, you can order $3 smash burgers so we ordered three of them, but both of us had to order a drink. We ordered a Nashville chicken sandwich too because of the pictures we show on Yelp. The burgers came out quick and they were just what the Dr. ordered. The pickles, sauce and burgers were very tasty. The buns were fresh and soft (not toasted). The Nashville Chicken wasn't that good...skip that. It didn't look like the pictures either. The fries were very filling and were very good. Hot and fresh and cut large.

For a popular burger joint, it's expensive for what it is and underwhelming. The chips are stale and it's barely customizable. More flashy with its excessive ingredients that it's hard to taste individual components. A custom burger is also more expensive than the standard ones offered ($14 at minimum for just the meat). Service is alright. My burger had cheese but they forgot it and then they brought me a plate with two slices of cold cheese. Ambiance is rustic with booths and high top chairs/booths. 4/10 food overall. I wouldn't recommend it

I once had a veggie burger here from a catered event. It was not very clear to me whether the veggie burger and bun were vegan or not, but my guess is that they are. The burger and fries were decent, probably much better at the restaurant.

I came here for dinner and had a great time. This casual spot offers a variety of burgers, sandwiches, salads, and other small bites. Service here is pretty quick and very attentive. I got their ranch BLT (with the ranch on the side) and chips were also included. It was delicious but I just wish that the bacon strips were a bit bigger. Chips were also salted nicely but weren't very crispy. Overall, not a bad spot for a casual burger.

Sat at the bar and enjoyed a burger and a beer with my daughter before a game at Fenway. Plenty of good choices on the menu. I had the Alpine which is a burger topped with garlic Parmesan mushrooms and Swiss cheese. It came out rare, as I had ordered it. The roll was fresh. The house made chips were yummy. I ordered coleslaw which was standard. I enjoyed a pint of The Substance from Bissell Brothers. All good. Service was very good. No complaints. They have #Freakfrappes on the menu, which we did not get. They are absolutely huge! Glad we stopped by.

Great burger spot right near Fenway. My mom and I came for the Boston marathon and needed something quick and delicious. Service was fast and the food was delicious.

Beautiful fall day. Sit outside and watch all the music students walking to class. The Buffalo burger. Melted blue cheese on top and smothered with franks hot sauce. The burger is big, and the sauce will drip down your arm. Home made crunchy chips. And the Boston beans are wonderful. Overall a solid burger and awesome place to be.

Service was great! I got a gluten free bun on my burger, which I was glad they had! Unfortunately, it was fairly dry and crumbled. The moisture that was in my burger was quickly soaked up into the bun leaving an unpleasant dry burger with hints of balsamic and great flavors pulling through. I'm fairly certain that Hamilton, our server noticed that I was not eating and asked but I declined to elaborate as I was honestly happy to find did I could eat and he was so helpful! I was warned of cross contamination of fries (I appreciated that heads up) and accepted that risk as long as they were not battered or coated; unfortunately upon arrival, they were coated. Hubby really enjoyed his burger and the shakes looked incredible! The chips were really good!! I was sad that the beans were what I'll remember Boston Beans as, I'll make my own back in Arizona...

We accidentally showed up before they even opened (classic us), but instead of shooing us away they let us sit inside with ice-cold water. MVP move. Service was solid the whole meal -- just took a little longer to cash out at the end. I got the Killer Bee burger and wow... it was messy, sweet, spicy, crunchy, cheesy -- basically everything you want in a burger. And yes, I actually finished it. My son made his own creation loaded with veggies and demolished the whole thing too. The only heartbreak? No room left for one of their outrageous Freakfrappes. They looked ridiculous in the best way. Next time, I'm starting with dessert.

    Kids Mac & Cheese Bites
    Jessica M.

I brought my kids to BBCo after a trip to the MFA. There was something for everyone, which was perfect. My kids liked their meals although my son wasn't crazy about the cheese in the Mac & cheese bites. Not sure what they used, but they weren't his favorite. The other kids meals - the grilled cheese and cheeseburger were good, zero complaints. And all the kids liked the chips. The chicken caprese sandwich was excellent! The flavors melded well together and the chicken was juicy. It usually comes with chips but I declined them. We had to round out with one of the giant frappes. The kids devoured it in about 30 seconds. I managed to get a sip and a taste, and can confirm that it tastes as good as it looked. My only complaint about the whole lunch was that service is slow. It was two hours from sit down to leaving and we could've done it in an hour easily. Our waiter was incredibly busy, working the bar seating and tables - I can't fault him. I'm not sure if it's staffing, but the guy could have used some help.

We came back because the food was awesome. They weren't too busy, but I'm sure it was because of the freezing cold. But the service was honestly horrible. We were sat past the kitchen window where a few staff members all hung out on their phones. Our server finally came over to get our drink orders, and we asked for a couple minutes to decide. The server did not come back over for well over 15 minutes, and I tried to get his attention but he avoided contact and just kept checking his phone. Him taking our food order was the last time we saw him until after we were done with our food. Our app came out and then the burgers right after. Again the food is amazing, and for the first time we got the frappes. The holy cannoli was amazing. The place has a great vibe, and kept really clean. I totally suggest this place for the food. I'm hoping that the service was just a fluke for the night.

    Wicked Hot Burger
    Sean P.

I'll start by saying that the service was terrible. Our waitress took a long time for every single thing and was standing around chitchatting most of the time. There were only about 3 tables with people, so when you are waiting 10 minutes to order, it's a bit frustrating. However, the food was very good. The garlic parm fries were solid, and the Wicked Hot burger was right up my alley with great flavor! I'd highly recommend it, and it's not overly spicy for those who might worry. This is probably more like a 3.5-star due to the service being so bad, but I'll still keep it as a 4 on here (due to limitations) because the burger was overall really good.

    Sampler Hot Mess

We were greeted and seated quickly. Drink and appetizer order was taken within minutes and our drinks were on the table less than 3 minutes later! The food: Sampler appetizer, Hot Mess Burger, and Boston Burger were amazing. I have nothing but positives to say about this place!

Looking at going at 5pm on Saturday before the 7pm Red Sox/Yankees game. Do you think the wait will be long?

    Do they do reservation?

Yeah kinda. Add name in advance of visit to wait list via website.

How long is the wait on a Saturday night around 5:00 p.m.?

Use the Yelp waitlist! We went on a Saturday night and I believe the wait was about 45 minutes but with the Yelp waitlist, we didn't wait long at the restaurant.

    Is it gluten free?

There are gluten free options. I believe you can get the burgers wrapped in lettuce if you want also.

Oddly, some of the best sandwiches we had in Italy came from a gas station travel plaza on the way from Rome to Florence. We haven't found a similar sandwich in the US ... until here. The meats are sliced fresh and all the sandwiches are made by hand. You have a lot of choices ... and the menu is odd. It stretches from one end of the ordering counter to the other ... it's so long that it's difficult to read the choices at the beginning of the sign. We got the Paradiso, which is made with Mortadella (imagine a thin-sliced bologna) with pistachio cream. Thoughts on the sandwich: Size: - This is one of those places which gives you too much sandwich. I'd come back more often if the sandwiches were $10 - $12 for a single portion. Honestly, the sandwiches here could probably feed two people ... which is fine because it allowed us to split it. However, if I am getting lunch for myself, I don't want to pay double and take a half home. Ingredients: - The best part of the sandwich was the foccacia bread. It was crisp but light ... had a little bit of oil on it and it was dense enough to fill you up. Slightly salty. - The mortadella was high quality ... but at the end of the day, $20 for a bologna sandwich is tough. Also, I was a little surprised at how thin of a layer they put on for the price. - Pistachio/Cream ... Very sweet, I felt like I would have liked a little more savory to balance it out. The sandwich was very pistachio forward and that was the predominant taste. I'd have liked the mortadella to stand out more. Overall, you won't find a sandwich as similar to what you'd get in Italy anywhere else. This place is a bit over hyped in my opinion but the sandwiches are pretty authentic to what you'd find in Italy. Unique combinations and high quality ingredients but the prices are just so fucking sky high here. - The bread is the best part

I got the La Paradiso which has Mortadella, stracciatella, pistachio cream and pistachio ($19). The focaccia bread is out of this world, and I absolutely love the combination of creamy stracciatella with pistachio cream and mortadella. Their sandwiches are massive, and while I am able to finish one no problem, the average appetite would have two meals out of one sandwich. La Paradiso was the same sandwich I got in Italy so I gotta mix it up next time. The service is quick and friendly.

Here, it's a fluffy stack, with the VERY-thin-sliced-to-order meats-- prosciutto, mortadella, salami-- piled generously but delicately, like tissue paper. My first introduction…read moreended up being at a corporate event in Boston's Seaport district, where lunch arrived courtesy of one of the city's best-known sandwich shops. The catering was impressive. Before anyone even took a bite. Every half sandwich was individually wrapped and clearly labeled, with salads and sides neatly organized, making it easy for a large group to grab lunch without the usual catering chaos. The choices were wide and varied. We took our lunches upstairs to a rooftop seating area overlooking the Seaport, which made for a pretty great setting on a beautiful afternoon. I chose the Gobbler, and it lived up to the hype I've since read in other reviews. At first glance it sounds like a Thanksgiving leftover sandwich, but it's much more than that. The turkey was fresh and flavorful, and it was complemented by stuffing, cranberry sauce, spinach, pepper jack cheese, and just enough chipotle mayo to add an unexpected kick, without overwhelming everything else. It's one of those combinations that sounds busy on paper but comes together remarkably well. I spoke with several others over lunch, and they were equally impressed with their choices. That's always a good sign when you're feeding a crowd. It's one thing to make a great sandwich to order; it's another to deliver dozens of them catered while maintaining that level of quality. Since this was catered, I can't really comment on the restaurant itself. The service on the catering side, however, was evident in how thoughtfully everything was prepared and packaged, and the rooftop setting where we enjoyed lunch certainly didn't hurt. Needless to say, this won't be my last Sam LaGrassa's sandwich. I fully intend to visit the restaurant one of these days, and in the meantime I'll spend some time trying to recreate that Gobbler at home (maybe with sliced roasted chicken, but also with turkey when I have it). It was that good.

You want the best sandwiches in Boston, look no further…read more You want the most expensive sandwiches in Boston, look no further. You want the worst restaurant seating in Boston, look no further. This place is fairly under the radar ... but those who know and don't mind the crazy prices and rude counter staff enjoy it. The restaurant itself is small ... and the seating is communal which absolutely is a pain in the ass. There is a back area with single seats and a ledge you can put your sandwich on but there are a lot of idiots who put their stuff on one seat and take up the other so nobody can sit next to them. There are several connected tables with 6 seats each. Unfortunately, you'll be sitting next to 4 or 5 strangers. The seating is the worst part ... if you can, it's best to grab your sandwich to go and bring it to a bench or somewhere you can eat it in a more peaceful setting. When it gets busy, this place is the definition of chaos. There is about 5 feet from the door to the ordering counter and the menu is impossible to read. Lots of backup and confusion about who is ordering, who is reading the menu and who is just standing around waiting. The sandwiches are worth the hype. Not sure if they are worth the price though at $20 - $30 per sandwich. (Pastrami is in the $30 range and something more simple, like buffalo chicken is in the $30 range.) You probably could get 2 servings out of a sandwich if you are a light eater ... sandwiches are big. This is one of those places that charges you a fortune and gives you too much. I'd be happy with a sandwich 25% smaller and 25% less expensive. The other gripe I have is that the sandwiches are the messiest I've ever had. Most have drippy Cole slaw or sauce on them and eating them is very messy. They have no napkin holders on the table and they give you only two napkins with each order. It's almost like a running joke. The counter staff is really rude and matter of fact. Given how many choices and combinations there, naturally there will be some confusion. And the place is loud when crowded, so they keep acting annoyed and saying, 'huh?'. If you have deep pockets and a big appetite this is a spot you should try. A lot of the corporate offices for big four accounting firms and high value companies use this place for catering. That's how I first found out about it. They also ship their sandwiches, which is interesting.

I would give the burrito 4 out of 5 stars because of the way it was wrapped - about a third of the burrito was just egg and cheese and the toppings (avocado, red onion, hash browns, salsa verde, crema) were crammed on the other side of the burrito. If there was a way for the burrito to be wrapped so all the ingredients were more evenly distributed - this would easily be a 5/5 breakfast burrito. I asked to have the vegetarian and delicious eggplant subbed in for the meat on one of the sandwiches and was promptly told no after our server checked with the kitchen. Sad. When we walked up around 7:30 pm, the outdoor seating on this beautiful day was already full. Good sign to start! Since it was a bit windy, we asked for an indoor table and were brought in immediately, no wait. To quench my thirst, I opted for a Storrow Jam libation- a blueberry, vodka, sparkling water, lemon flavored drink. Absolutely refreshing and well presented! My pal ordered their spin on a Cuban and swapped out the chips for the dill pasta side. He loved it so much that it was gone on minutes. Being a fan of ground meats, I opted for the Hajj, a ground lamb, tzatziki, Mediterranean style sandwich. It was well flavored and large, and came with a side salad. I shared the sandwich with my friend, but agreed that his crispy Cuban was a bit tastier. We ended the evening with a bread pudding topped with vanilla ice cream to share. Massive portions! We both enjoyed to our hearts' delight, and the one dessert could have easily been shared with a third person. Our wait staff was so pleasant- friendly and warm from the start. They really made this experience shine! This is quite a pricy spot in the heart of Boston, so be prepared to pay a pretty penny for sandwiches. However, the elegance of the food is up there and it's a unique experience to pick a meal from a handful of the top chefs.
