In order to re-gain coverage on my car my insurer required an inspection and the closest agent they recommended was Auto Depot. I drove over there one day and walked up into the office. It turns out that the business was officially closed while they did inventory (and I think some staff were on vacation). Despite that, when they found out I needed an insurance inspection they grabbed the paperwork and a camera and took care of me. I was pleasently surprised that they did this while "closed" since I don't think inspections for insurance companies are a big money maker. A few months later (and after dumping the vespa on a street one day thanks to a wet manhole cover) I brought the scooter to them to see if they could repair a couple of dents and a lot of paint scratches. After taking some gentle ribbing about owing a scooter (I think some of the staff are serious motorcycle heads) they gave me a price estimate and told me it may take a few days of work since they'd have to custom match and mix the paint. At that point one of the owners offered to give me a ride back to Roslindale Village where I could easily walk or grab a bus back home to my house. They were unable to get official Vespa paint so they used some sort of optical scan gun to read the colors and generate the info they needed to have a shop mix up a custom batch. The end result was fantastic - except for some scratches on some chrome bits that I don't care about they fixed all the dents and matched the scooter paint *exactly* when repairing the body scratches. The final price was exactly what they had estimated as well - no surprises. So in summary: * They opened the shop just to perform an insurance inspection on my car * An owner drove me to Rozzie Village after I dropped off my scooter * They mixed custom paint when fixing the scooter and did great bodywork * The paint/bodywork estimate was exactly what I ended up paying Obviously this is just my $.02 but they've earned my loyalty and I'll be bringing the car back there some time to get some body panel scratches fixed. -chris

I called Auto Depot as soon as I got to town and they were able to get me right in. The service was incredible. Friendly, upfront staff. Not only fixed my car through the insurance claim but also a handful of other things, like an oil change and brakes. They're an all-service shop, which is really helpful. They were also able to somehow get my deductible lowered, which was really awesome and unexpected. My only reason for 4 and not 5 stars is that I had also asked them to check my wipers and they forgot but that's really not a big deal. I'll call them and take it back in at some point, but really not a big deal. Overall, I think I've found my new favorite body shop. I would highly recommend them.

It was expensive to have four tires installed, but they did a good job and -- here's the really great part -- they let me hang out in the shop, gave me tips on installation stuff and track driving, and generally just hang out while they did the work. I usually get yelled at when I so much as step inside the work area, not invited in. They also did all the little touches that nowhere actually does: they mounted my wheels then did the tightening with a torque wrench, not the brainless monkey overtorquing that most shops do which makes the lug nuts impossible to remove yourself. I would definitely go back for future tire mounting or auto repair needs.

Sierra at South Medford Auto Body took over for me like an absolute queen and was able to tell off the insurance company, get my car fixed, and make sure I had zero down time without a fully covered vehicle. They have been flexible, communicative, and a godsend with how stressful every other aspect of this process is. The repairs were faster than expected, and the team here clearly puts in effort to guarantee happy customers--beyond some extra fixes, they even repainted a part completely unrelated to the incident, simply because the color mismatch "was bothering them"! Just an amazing level of service all around, so glad I live nearby! The shop is also walking distance (~2 blocks) to two different car rental shops, so you can skip any needless ubers. Any down time you spend in the office will likely be punctuated with visits from the two friendly shop dogs, definitely a pro for me :)

The estimates were also different in details - the labor hourly rate was the lowest (charging a private customer the same as what insurance would accept) and the emphasis is on repair rather than simply replace. I worked with Siera (the owner) the entire time, and she's very easy, professional, courteous to work with. When they identified additional damage inside, she sent photos and explained what is needed, what can be repaired, and what may not be essential. Very easy to work with. They also have an agreement with Enterprise Car Rental across the street for inexpensive/easy rental during the repair. For those of us who don't know much about cars (and especially not about body repairs), it's really important to work with someone/a business that you can trust, and that is also helping you to save a few dollars whenever possible - and South Medford/Siera definitely does that. Highly recommended if you do have to get body repair done! Oh, they also washed the car even though they had to stay late on Saturday to finish it. Really appreciate it.

Didn't bother to fix it, started to realize my headlight were terrible in an unrelated issue and wanted to replace the assemblies. I ordered them and realized that in cars that aren't 1980s ford escorts, it was actually complicated to change them out. I have a handy friend that was going to help me remove the bumper etc until I realized because of the fender damage we wouldn't be able to do it. So I decided to fix the fender etc. Rolled into Malden and apparently they don't do hondas there, but he took a look at it and said to take it up to Stoneham. Super customer service from Jump. I went up to see Al in Stoneham and he gave me an estimate right on the spot. Again no insurance or anything out of pocket. No one wants to get body work done and it's expensive and takes time. Al told me to come in early the next week and that he'd also put in the headlight assemblies for me. 36 hours off the road and it was done, looked great, fairly priced as these things go and was never dicked around once. Great service and yes I'm took the time to recommend on yelp along with my burger and fries reviews.

Thankfully, the team at 1st Class Auto Body in East Boston came to the rescue. After the damage was appraised, I brought my vehicle to them for repair. They were reasonably busy and had to order parts to replace the damaged components, but I just picked it up and it looks absolutely beautiful. You'd never know it had been in an accident! I can't praise them enough. They kept me informed throughout the entire repair process with regular updates, which gave me great peace of mind.
