I…read morecannot say enough about Dr. Hartman, Dr. Tast, Dr. Hedges, and the entire team at Wellesley Animal Hospital. How they can remember the special medical needs and unique personalities of each and every pet they care for is mind boggling!! The technicians and receptionists are all extremely knowledgeable, friendly and caring. Even during the pandemic, when they were extremely vulnerable to illness and often short staffed, they never let it sacrifice the level of excellence they provide in caring for all animals. The practice appreciates that - our animals are members of our family, and treat them as such. When our dog, Piper, was battling late stage heart disease they were masters in getting her medication just right, providing her with the highest quality of life until the very end. They exhausted every option, were patient when we had questions/emergencies with medication and always had time to talk us through anything that came up. The front desk was kind enough to make multiple calls and follow-up on our behalf to help find an emergency ultrasound appointment, once again exceeding our expectations. Piper lived (comfortably) well beyond what was expected for a dog diagnosed with late stage Heart Disease. When it was her time, and she was no longer comfortable, Dr. Hartman was there to talk us through the difficult decision we had to make. She showed extreme compassion and empathy towards our family and Piper also advising us on how to handle and support our other dog, who was losing her best friend. We knew that she cared just as much as we did about Piper. She made comments about her strength and her sweet personality. As a result, we were able to say goodbye in a way that felt right for us. Dr. Hartman, Dr. Task and staff took time (after hours) to allow for the process to be private. They were so kind and thoughtful towards my entire family including our other dog. We all grieved together. It was the best possible process for an awful, but inevitable event. We are so grateful we were able to give Piper the respect and peace she deserved. They sent us a condolence note and made a donation to an Animal foundation in memory her name. In short - they are a group of exceptionally talented, generous and dedicated humans who go above and beyond. You should consider yourself fortunate if you are able to be a part of this practice.

Being a first time cat owner, I was super nervous bringing my cat to the vet and felt guilty because it was difficult, for both of us, to get him in the carrier and transport him to the vet. I was afraid that the experience at the vet might make my cat really anxious and he might start attacking the staff, but the Dr. and his staff seem to be cat whisperers and were able to keep him calm by wrapping him in a warm towel. Dr. Cosimini gave me great suggestions such as using a lasagna pan for a water dish and ways to keep up with my cat's oral hygiene. It was overall a great experience, and unless I move far away, I won't go anywhere else for my cat's medical care.

But the Cats Hospital folks LOVE cats and treat them with kindness, care, and respect. When you call with an issue, they'll help you triage it on the phone for free. When I took my kittens in, the doctor followed up with me on a call I'd made to him about my older cat a few months before. It's just so personal, genuine and warm. I also don't feel price gouging like I do elsewhere (and also the prices are reasonable) and I've never felt pressured to do anything. They're great. There are at least 10 veterinarians within a 10 min drive of me but I'll drive 30 mins to these guys any day.

I never feel rushed if I have a questions. with a senior dog, we're here every couple of months. Lab call backs are always the next day. options are always presented. Was told by the front desk when appointment was confirmed that "yes could drop off the cat with her thyroid medicine. The Vet would administer then wait required 4-6 hours to measure her blood levels. Th tech told me in the exam room that she would now have to check with the Vet to see if they could in fact simply administer one dropper full of thyroid medicine. They then"upsold us" a full "Wellness blood panel for $249 and charged us $180 to simply administer one shot to mildly sedate her. When I questioned the overall $900 estimate for the visit the technician became all flustered and reported to the Vet that I "had disrespected her" ! Unreal. By simply asking the tech to justify all of the charges. And the Vet pushed back on his administering the thyroid medicine and requesting that we give the cat her medicine in the AM, not her normal time, prior to dropping her off. So our job as pet owners it appears is to make the Vet clinic's job easier while being overcharged for service and procedures? We will be leaving this practice now, after 8 years, given that all of the prior clinicians have left and the new staff is unreasonable and over priced.

The Beloved Goldendoodle has had a bit of arthritis/back problems off & on for the last year or so,…read moreand since I need him to be at his happiest/healthiest I started looking around for alternative therapies to taking medication regularly. We had also moved into a new apartment on the second floor of a very old home, and the steep stairs were just making it worse (so we have broken our lease and are moving to solve that problem). My list included water therapy, but where is a city dog to go? Paws in Motion! I emailed Dr. Suzy and said that someone had recommended the underwater treadmill and/or swimming, made an appointment for later in the week and after meeting him she said she thought he would do best in the pool to start. He was outfitted with a life preserver, and headed up the ramp to get in the pool. In his previous swims (outdoors) he just walked right into the water, but when he needed to then go down a ramp and into the pool, he had the "you want me to do WHAT?" look on his face. However, Dr. Suzy had a tennis ball and he wanted that more than anything, so he followed her into the pool and looked so pleased with himself! He went back and forth retrieving his ball, and each week I notice that he moves more easily through the water and he is full of energy afterwards (some dogs might be tired, but this just energizes him). She is located at the intersection of Routes 9/27, and just a couple of miles from the Mass Pike exit so no matter where you are coming from it is easy to get there. We come from Brighton, it is a quick drive and he can't get out of the car fast enough and into her office each week. I am so happy we found her so I can keep my boy's paws in motion!!

My vet was not cooperative and I seemed to have to justify the decision to put my cat down to her when she could not give me options for treatment or even a diagnosis. Frustrated, I called Lap of Love. They were such a relief. The first time I called the woman who answered was very kind and compassionate. But I chickened out and didn't actually make an appointment. My cat then had a scary incident that made me convinced that I had to do this and I called back. The man who answered was great and got me an appointment within 3 days. I didn't have to justify the decision. I didn't have to get records and PROVE I had a basis for the decision. They did ask for the cat's vet but I am unsure if they called them. I am a little different and I did not want to be around during the procedure. My cat is not the type to be comforted by me. I worried that might be a problem. But it wasn't. The doctor called me before the appointment and told me she was coming and she was on time (very important when you have spent three days just trying to keep your nerve) and kind. I was allowed to step out of my home (I had worried she might tell me I couldn't do that due to liability issues of leaving her alone in the house) and she came and got me when done. She left me a paw print cast of my cat and a locke of hair. Thank god for this service. No one wants to do this but it was a relief not to have to fight for the service when you are using all your strength and backbone to make the decision in the first place.
