There is a known defect with the HD Gatorshell paddle boards. It may not show up until after the warranty period has ended. For me it was 3 years later and now I'm left with a $2k paperweight. They have made notification to the public, no recall, nor any reports submitted with the coast guards defective product reporting system. Pictures of the conversation with the customer service representative admitting to the defect and the manager telling me there was nothing they could do except offer another board at 50% discount. Why woukd I give them anymore money after this though? Pictures also showing the defect and additional pictures to show this board was well taken care of and the damage was not something caused by a lack of care, misuse, or mistreatment. You will find a few reviews on reddit and 1 on this page stating the same defect. You can find some boards on Facebook marketplace showing this same defect as well. read more

I bought the 10 x 10 dock and it was awesome the handful of times I've used it. I've had it a little over two years and pulled it out of storage this year and it has two huge holes. I thought I had folded it up wrong but I re-watched the video and I had it folded correctly. The company told me it was because it was in storage too long and it just happens... Granted I didn't take it out a lot in the two years I had it but I did unfold it and blow it up about every six months to make sure everything was OK . The size of the holes are about 4 inches long and all the way through. They're on the top so they're not easily patched. It's basically useless at this point definitely not worth the money read more

After two short summer seasons, (we live in the Northeast) our 10 x 10 raft which sells for $1400 continues to deflate. I attempted to address this with BOTE but they were unwilling to help me out. I even attempted to address this issue with members of their executive team by mailing two separate letters. Both letters to two separate key executives went unacknowledged. No response whatsoever. Just goes to show you that BOTE is more concerned about themselves and not their customers. There are much more reliable products on the market that cost less. Do yourself a favor and don't give this company one penny. read more

Hi, 1) I had difficulty getting my package from FedEx, the package was floating around from several different states, bypassing the delivery location I've requested it to have gone to. 2) the fedex representatives were unhelpful, I have ASD1, and felt extremely frustrated and felt that they were playing mind games with me over the phone. I've asked multiple times for the correct location, and it seems it wasn't updated through each person that I spoke with. I had to finally call BOTE. 3) When receiving the package, upon opening it, the inflatable kayak seemed to have air it in, the kayak seats had stains and scratch marks, and bent awfully making the product looked used. 4) a couple of the pieces that are supposed to be in a cylinder red tube were floating around in the brown cardboard box, and I cannot find the tube itself. Just it's cap. So, that's not good, perhaps the FedEx workers were messing around with my package. Or the seller did not make sure that their warehouse didn't grab a used BOTE kayak instead of a new one.... most packages are sealed with plastic making the new owner open it up. But here it looks like someone folded a used BOTE kayak, and shoved it into its bag. They did not care how the product was placed in the bag, it didn't look wrapped or clean or new. I'll update this review later. Oh and what isn't told to you is that there is a 20% restocking fee, so if they're restocking the product that means they are just passing it around until someone claims it, right? It's 200$ to restock a fee and that's unacceptable. So maybe THAT is their gimmick..... if I am wrong about the way the boat is packaged let me know what it was like when you first opened your product. When spending over 1,000$ I think details are important. read more

Bote makes the best SUPs for fishing. Finally picked up the 12' flood after wanting this fishing set up for five years. My son and I had a blast fishing for six straight days in the gulf. We hooked up several species. Board is very stable even with 35 gallon yeti, fishing rack, and tackle. Handles 10-12 knot wind well. Kids and I could surf small waves and not too different than 10'6" that is much lower volume. Kari was very helpful and accommodating. The day I was there she was solo in the store and it was pretty busy. The board does have some "air" pockets under the grip deck. This is a bad look for the cost / quality expected. Not a big deal to me as we use the equipment hard and it already has dings and lots of scrapes and scratches. It is not delaminating just not the best look for a board that cost $$$$. Bote should get on their contract manufacturer about this to use better adhesive. read more

I spent $1000 on an inflatable Bote board for my son who is in college. We have had it for three years and he uses it about 4 times a year, otherwise it is carefully packed in its carry case. This year, year three, all of the bow heat seams have opened up, it cannot hold air. By opened up, I mean entire sections of seams just flat out gave way and are no longer sealed. I contacted Bote about this manufacturing defect and they pointed to their 2 year warranty and will not accept returns and don't do repairs. Bote did offer 30% off a new $1000 board. I asked the rep if he would buy a second board for $700 if he just lost $1000 from the same company? Rep then got abusive and belligerent. This product is crap. Now I have done research and have found my experience is pretty common. I recommend buying anything but a Bote board and steer clear of this expensive, low quality, rip off of a company. read more

I don't have any experience with the actual board yet, and am hoping it'll be great once I receive it. But so far I'm incredibly frustrated with Bote's customer experience team! I ordered my board on May 28th after talking with someone on chat, telling them I wanted to get my board quickly, and being promised all orders ship in 2-3 business days. They said I'd have it within a week. As promised, I did receive a 'your order is on the way' notification just a few days later - but it was being sent to the wrong address on the opposite side of the country! They sent it to my old billing address in LA instead of the shipping address on my order here in Charleston SC. I immediately tried to call - no answer. Went back to chat, was promised they'd take care of it and re-route my order ASAP. That was weeks ago, It's now June 15th and I've yet to receive any kind of contact from their team or new tracking number. Every day I go on chat, write in with tickets via email, and leave voicemails when nobody answers the phone - hoping that SOMEONE will feel a bit of urgency and try to help me get my order or at least some answers as to when I'll receive updates. Last weekend I got a call from a trucking company who was trying to deliver the board to my old place in Los Angeles, so I know that they never successfully rerouted the original order. I told those people to please return to sender, and have yet to hear anything about my order being reshipped from the warehouse to get here in a timely manner. I've now missed 3 weekends of paddling out of the summer - and am super frustrated. I wrote in again to someone names Josh on chat this morning and have been waiting for a response for over an hour. Hoping they are going to overnight my order to me today or tomorrow and/or give me some kind of a credit back or some extra gear to make up for all of this. I also work in sales/customer service for a global company and would always take care of my customers better than this, super frustrating! Received ANOTHER call from Estes saying this order is not showing from 'BOTE' but from Schneider Brokerage and that they have no shipping contact info on the order at all so can't return the order and don't know what to do with it. 3 hours waiting on chat and still NOTHING... this is crazy!!!!!!!! Warning!!! Don't waste your money on buying a sup board from BOTE ! My husband spent over 1k on a board and accessories for me for a Christmas gift. Package arrived safely and intact , not a mark on the box. He wrapped it and kept it in the garage until Christmas Day. I unwrapped it to find the board completely crushed and cracked open in seven places. We sent pictures and emails asking for them to process an exchange for a usable water safe board. BOTE's response is to send us their "small print" on unpacking within 3 days and to write back that their boards are "often damaged in freight before they are packaged" so we have to unwrap it immediately to have any warranty, wow, woulda been nice to know! You mean that you have a known freight issue that you aren't solving, or telling customers about, and then blaming the customer for your poor management in product quality chain? So sadly we are $1400.00 poorer and the company is 1400.00 richer. All we have is a very expensive broken fiberglass BOTE sup board to take to a landfill. One of the saddest Christmas gifts ever. read more

The beautiful patterned boards lining the walls, stickers on the front door, and just the sheer positive vibes from the clerk behind the desk was enough to make me say, SAVE UP YOUR MONEY FOR THIS EXPENSIVE SHIT! It deflates all the way down and rolls up to fit in compact cars and small houses. They also do a military discount of 5%. Bote does provide the best SUP on the market; however, I cannot give them the review I intended. With my purchase of this years 10'6" HD Classic I ran into an engineering problem. 2 oval shaped ports with metal rings located center of the board. This secures your TRAVEL LINK STRAP to the board for easy storage while you use the board. Storing your strap is now a nightmare as it covers the use of your STASHPOD. So now I must detach the strap to gain access to the STASHPOD. You can forget holding your drink there. It would work with the port below the cup holder but not above. This may seem petty until you factor in the money spent on the product. These are the most expensive SUPs you can buy, wouldn't you want everything to work with the money spent? UPDATE Contacted my dealer Taylor from Sweetwater Paddle Sports in Bonita Springs, Fl. He personally discussed my concerns with the Bote Sales Director Ed Slatton. Mr. Slatton contacted me very promptly and after a brief talk he not only sent me a personal gift from Bote for my inconvenience but granted me an exchange for a new model. I have to say I am extremely impressed with the courtesy and professionalism displayed by all participants. If i could give more than 5 STARS I would. I applaud Bote and Sweetwater Paddle Sports. Bravo! UPDATE Bote never sent that personal gift. I guess it was the exchange. Then Sweetwater charged me $250 for a couple scuff marks on the board I initially bought. Awesome place to rent boards! Clint was super helpful - gave advice about how to get on the board, paddle, etc. along with tips about the area we'd be SUPing in. He also gave us a good deal, charging only a half day price for almost a full day. Even without him doing that, the rental prices are very reasonable ($50/board for a half day. Another rental place charged $45/2 hrs for comparison). Definitely recommend Bote boards! read more
