I liked the atmosphere, and location of this bar. They had a decent selection and the staff was friendly. I was just suuuuper disappointed that this is advertised as a "wine bar" but when you order a glass of wine it's not in a wine glass. It's in a whiskey glass. It's like going to a brewery and paying. 10 dollars for a beer to have it served to you in a solo cup. If it was a regular bar I'd understand but this place is advertised as a wine bar and you don't get your wine in a wine glass. read more

This has become a new not-so-hidden gem in our neighborhood. I almost didn't want to write a review to try and keep it that way, but I'm doing so because the owner is so kind and funny that I wanted to add to all his great reviews. My fiancé and I tried a bunch of things on the menu and everything has been amazing, with a true Italian feel. Weekly specials are always the best. New hidden gem! Came across this place by accident. So glad i found this spot. Very intimate and staff is very friendly and take pride in what they do. Food is absolutely delicious and fresh. We tried a few plates from salads to pasta dish to meatballs and all were tasty. Bartender makes an amazing Negroni! Came here with zero expectations, and was blown away, especially by the pasta. While New York has no shortage of Italian places, it is somewhat lacking in places that have genuine and delicious pasta that tastes like it does in Italy and with no frills, but this places has just that. Moreover, the service was fast and very friendly, even more uncommon in this. Excited to have found my new favorite Italian restaurant. Stopped in this excellent restaurant last week and was very impressed. Amazing food, lovely decor inside and outside. There is a tent outside on the sidewalk where you can eat. I was served by the owner Francesco was so nice and friendly! The food was amazing! I got the baked salmon special with mashed potatoes and zucchini and loved it. BotteBar has a great choice of wine and the ambience was cozy but clean. Fabio, Francesco and Valerio were amazing and for it being the opening day, the expenditing of dishes was on point. Highlights of my meal was the soppressata di polipo, a tapas like dish made with thinly sliced octopus, Topped with olive oil, crushed bleck pepper, arugula, and pomegranate. The pomegranate was a delicious pop of brightness and sweet and the octopus itself was tender and perfect. The tagliatelle alla bolonese was delicate and beautifullly done. I had that with the meatballs , which were perfectly portioned and melt in your mouth delicious. Overall, the food shines at Botte Bar and their flavors pop. I am new to this area and was looking for the kind of friendly Italian neighborhood place I knew there must be, and I think this is it. The food is always excellent, the pasta's freshness is guaranteed, made as it is in-house, and the drinks are also very very good. After they had seen me a few times the staff have been very welcoming and friendly and concerned that I have had a good meal. Once when I was sitting alone at the bar, the proprietor asked another customer to desist when he thought the customer was trying to start a conversation and correctly surmised I was not interested! I did appreciate the help although I was more amused than threatened and could have easily handled it myself. read more

Hidden gem!!! Came here for my birthday and the place was candle lit and had an intimate atmosphere, my date immediately loved it. The service was great, they heard my every request and even threw in some specials for my birthday! The food is divine, I love restaurants that care about their quality of food without abusing prices so if anything here is pricier than expected, don't worry its deff worth it!!! Presentation and taste were 5 stars. I've been coming to Botte at least once a week for months. And as much as I would like to preserve *my* local spot as a secret gem, I thought it was time that I write a review in support of this incredible little restaurant and bar. Botte has become for me that welcoming, warm local spot that I've been trying to find for years. It all starts with the owners, Valerio and Francesco, who are probably two of the most gracious and friendly restauranteurs I've ever met. It is clear that they care about what their work, and their establishment, stands for. The food -- and at this point, I've probably tried it all -- is excellent. For starters, I particularly like their burrata, their bruschetta (particularly the caponata) and their meatballs. Their pasta is impeccably cooked. I love their penne alla vodka (it's not on the menu so you'll have to make a special request...in my experience, if you ask nicely enough, Valerio will grant it if he has the supplies). Botte usually has a special meat entree (which is my typical order) -- my favorite has been the chicken marsala. The drinks are also quite good and free flowing. I usually order cocktails -- Francesco has a knack for pouring me the right cocktail for the mood. Looking forward to Botte for years to come! read more
