    Fish & Chips

Place had shown up on a few Queens IG pages I follow so decided to try it. Came around 530ish the bar was packed and about 1 table was busy and outside seating was also available on this day. Went straight to the bar to grab a pint and then grabbed a little bar table since my friend and I were going to have dinner. Waitress never greeted me until my friend got there and she finally dropped off a foo menu...we placed an order for fish & chips to share which we told her but she never brought our plates or silverware. She was also at time pouring drinks behind the bar. She never came back to check on us or bring us our plates and silverware or ask us for another round of drinks, we had to flag down the runner/busboy to get them. Now the food the fish although flakey and perfectly fried lacked seasoning to the point that even the vinegar and lemon did not help, like the batter did not have not even a pinch of salt so yet again we had to flag down the runner/busboy for some salt and pepper. Shortly after the nighttime shift came in, we were never notified by our server but I noticed she had changed clothes and was leaving. Had to once again flag someone to get the check and clear our plates. All in all it's a small cozy place that seems to focus more on drinks and beers. Hopefully with some time the food improves so I wouldn't totally knock this place out...yet. Also there's live music that starts on 8pm on Saturdays .

Solid newcomer in Woodside. Classic Irish pub vibes with a dash of gastropub quality food. Paper tablecloths are accompanied by crayons for doodlers of all ages. For a fun and fast-paced experience, the bar is the place to be. I came in around 4 PM on Sunday as dinner service commenced following the brunch hours. Mozz sticks to start: a crisp crunchy exterior yields to soft yummy cheese with a phenomenal pull. Next, strip loin medium rare, tasty and attractively priced. I added a side of mixed vegetables and got a generous portion. Service was great! A cold Guinness washes away all troubles. Cousin Larry's apparently has strong roast specials, be sure to check what the roast of the day is. I'm also intrigued by the babyback ribs. I will definitely return to try more.

Brunch burger with salad/fries. Irish bacon. And they had a gluten free bun on request!

This restaurant does not reinvent the wheel, but everything is SO well done! I got the fish and chips and my friend had the salmon with mash potatoes and broccolini. Both dishes tasted amazing. The drinks were also super good and well priced, and the ambiance was nostalgic and dreamy Americana. Can't wait to go back. Update: After talking my boyfriend's ear off about this place, I brought him here two weeks after my initial review and he finally understood why I love it so much. We can confidently say that their brunch burger is the best burger in Woodside/Sunnyside too. And their drinks are strong. Delicious and STRONG.

My partner and I had brunch here. The staff is so friendly. In addition to the bottomless brunch option you also get a free Guinness if you order the Irish Breakfast. I studied abroad in Ireland when I was an undergraduate and this breakfast took me right back to County Galway. The bar is lively and loud. They play rugby and other European sports on the tvs. I will absolutely be back. I want to try their dinner menu.

We recently tried this spot for brunch last Saturday and were really excited since it's taken over the old PJ Horgan's space. Unfortunately, the food didn't live up to our expectations. The breakfast burger ($18) had several issues: the patty was way smaller than the bun (about 40% smaller), making it feel like eating mostly bread. There was an inch of bread surrounding the patty. The brioche bun didn't taste fresh--maybe refrigerated or frozen?--and the patty was cooked well-done instead of medium as I ordered. It was also pretty bland, sadly. On the bright side, the fries were tasty! The Irish breakfast was better but had some portion issues too. The baked beans were served in a ramekin but contained maybe 3-4 tablespoons of beans, and the tomatoes were smashed and it was also a small portion. That said, the service was excellent! The staff was attentive, and the ambiance is beautiful. While our first visit was underwhelming, we're rooting for them to improve. I've shared this feedback with them in the hope they'll iron out these kinks.

New bar in the neighborhood - we had to check it out. We shared the Ceaser salad and ribs, and finished with a sundae. The romaine lettuce in the Ceaser salad was so crunchy in the best way possible. And the ribs, were so saucy. Overall, great vibes, food, and drinks. Great addition to the food.

The vibe was perfect, a neighborhood Irish bar. It made me feel like I was back in Ireland. The food was incredible. One of the best fish and chips I've ever had. We also had the salmon, which was cooked so perfectly. I will definitely be back to this place, again and again and again. They also had amazing Guinness, which is not so easy to do! They also have a few good wines to choose from, including a Bordeaux that I really enjoyed. But the cocktail menu is very creative so wine is definitely not your only option.

Great place, kid friendly, amazing food, went on a Saturday morning and had the best brunch ever! The owner came out and chatted with us, felt like we had known him forever. We will definitely go back!

Cocktail of the week (only $6!)

Such a great place in Sunnyside!! We came for Tuesday night trivia and had a blast! Before trivia, we tried the double smash burger and finished before we could get a picture! The cocktails of the week are also delicious and an amazing deal. The staff is so friendly too! 10/10 and will be returning

I am a sucker for this famous British/Irish deep fried goodness. Well, I can say without a doubt that this version is excellent (8.5/10) as described. The dish comes with three pieces that are crispy and tender. However, they gotta make a better tartar sauce than the ones they served in packets. Also, we switched out chips for onion rings. They were fantastic! I also really enjoyed their French Onion Soup (8/10) and the Shepherds Pie (7.5/10). The soup was flavorful without being too salty like most restaurants, while the pie had relatively fluffy mash potato with tasty ground beef mixture. The only item that was a slight letdown was the Chicken Pot Pie (6/10). The puff pastry was decent and so was the cream sauce. The problem was the overcooked and dry chicken breast meat. Our server was very friendly and always had a smile on her face. Btw, even though the space was basically a dive bar, the energetic 60's and 70's music was definitely a plus. Therefore, I gave it a slightly higher score for decor. All in all, this was a great experience.

And that is why I boycotted them. Everything was very lax at that time, with little enforcement from the SLA. In October, my partner and I headed back to try their Irish breakfast and to see how things had improved. At the time, a large party was being held in their backroom, and we were not prepared to wait forever. We asked to speak with the owner, Mike Peacock, and told him we had to be at church to ring the church bells. We appreciated his dedication to getting us our food on time, but to be really honest, the Irish breakfast was not the best that could have been made.

Unfortunately, the hostess was extremely rude and impolite. She did not seem to care about accommodating us when we politely asked to sit closer to one of the TVs to watch the game. During our visit, we ordered nachos, wings, a steak sandwich, and a pulled pork sandwich. My son ate the pulled pork sandwich while we shared the other items. Around 2 AM that night, he woke up vomiting repeatedly after eating the sandwich. It was a terrible experience, especially for a restaurant that recently opened. I originally planned on returning to speak with management directly, but after the way the hostess treated us, I honestly did not feel that our concerns would be taken seriously. That is why I am sending this email two weeks later, because the situation still bothers me -- especially since it ruined my son's entire weekend. I hope management takes this complaint seriously and looks into both the customer service and food quality issues.

I love super shitty Irish dive bars. Love. L-o-v-e. I also like bougie but there's nothing like the fresh smell of musk, seeing a bunch of regulars that have been sitting there for way too long cradling their bud lites and pondering where their life is going to take them next. I had about 30 minutes to kill before heading to a baby shower down the street and was torn over whether I wanted to get a coffee somewhere or an alcoholic beverage. Given that I knew no one at this shower, I went with just a nice lite beer. They have an okay selection on tap and nothing remarkable but the traditionals and Singlecut and Fat Tire if you are feeling more exotic. What won my heart over really and truly though was their free party mix on the bar tops. Not that crumby kind - oh ho ho ho no. It's the kind with the cheetos, pretzels, doritos, and the little frito bits that have a kick to them. The best kind of party mix one can really have anywhere. My beer was about $6 but they have $3-4 specials probably at all wakes of the night/day. Curious if this is any way related to the O'Hanlon's on east 14th street in Manhattan but probably just a popular name.
