One of the best music venues i have ever been to.... Well minus the drink selection. Bar was dismal at best with hardly any options, no fun drinks, no daquiris, nothing beachy, just cans of beer and seltzer. Super strange. this was my first time here, friday of MDW. this was one of their "jam sessions" where they have 4 cover bands playing from 5pm-1am. I had such a great time!!!! mostly rock and country covers. very crowded bc MDW but still never waited more than 10 min for a drink -- plenty of bars. it's open-air and half of the place is covered by a roof. drinks aren't tooooo pricey -- $8 for rail, $10 for seltzer and you get what you're paying for! cash cover $10 (at 5pm) but ATM right outside. would definitely go back! read more

Went to bottle and cork during a bachelorette party. In the moment, we had a great time. The live music was very fun and the venue felt adequately staffed. One of the bartenders near the bathrooms & main stage provided very sub par service, requiring me to repeat my order multiple times and caused a very frustrating experience for the rest of the night. The frustrating portion of this experience was how my credit card was charged over $400 several hours after we had left the bar. I had ordered two drinks totaling just under $20 (including a tip). I was then charged $7.50 and $396, in two different transactions, multiple hours after leaving the bar. Conveniently, this was after the bar had closed for the evening so there was no one to contact about this egregious mistake. It's one thing to mistakenly charge a credit card but it's another thing to feel targeted for a ridiculous amount several hours after we had left the bar and after the bar closed. I disputed the charges with my credit card but I will never be able to dispute having a good time at this establishment. I will never return. read more

Wow! I had heard about bottle & cork from a family member a while back but finally decided to visit during a night out in Dewey. It was "jam session" night the Sunday of Labor Day weekend, where they bring in several local bands. It was worth the $10 cover charge. I was amazed at how large the space was and we enjoyed staying for 2 bands. One played some popular 90s/2000s pop and emo songs, and the next was more of a classic rock vibe. Both had the crowd dancing and singing the night away. It was a great way to celebrate LDW. I'll def be back. read more

We had tickets for a country concert, Justin Moore, and it was AMAZING! It's a fairly intimate venue, holding a little over 1000 people. If you're lucky enough to see a concert here there is NO bad place to stand - you can see the stage from everywhere. You must be 21+ to enter. Note - they are a cash only establishment so come prepared (although they do have ATMs on site). The bar gets very busy but the bartenders HUSTLE and you won't have to wait long. We would definitely attend another concert here anytime!!! read more

I have visited this venue twice now within the last year, both two completely different genres (X Ambassadors and Justin Moore), different groups of people and overall separate vibes. Both experiences were pleasant and welcoming. Much smaller intimate venue with complete view of the stage--you should be able to see the stage from anywhere you stand. This time around each patron received a free bud light canned beer and bud light cowboy hat upon entering. Only wish is for more space/breathing room. The intoxicated folk tend to get all over you in here and a lot of altercations occur throughout the night. *Get in early to place yourself strategically.* read more

Went for a show tonight that was scheduled for 8 to 1145. The show ended at 11 and without notice the bar shut down and when i questioned the professionalism of the staff I was abrubtly thrown out and escorted outside without a fight at around 1115pm. I normally wouldn't post this stuff but I was extremely offended tonight and felt ripped off. I didn't need the drink as much as the extra 45 minutes of music I paid for. This is unacceptable. I will never go back due to the lack of professionalism. I go to alot of concerts and festivals and tonight ranks at the bottom due to the way the venue set up and finished. Next time just save us the pain and dont try to open up for 1 night in december. good luck to you folks that are doing New Years Eve!!! The staff is super friendly. There was a $5 cover charge to get in, and once inside the bar is cash only. There's three atms right in front of the bar, and each transaction requires you to pay an additional fee to the owner on top of whatever fee your bank will have to withdraw money. Felt like I was getting hussled. The room is spacey, and the female bathroom has multiple bathroom stalls. If you get the chance to see 3am Tokyo preform, you're in for a treat. They preformed a minute per song of 50 songs of the last few decades and their energy definitely kept the crowd going. read more

I've only been to this place several times for concerts, and I have to say it's probably one of my favorite venues. They seem to have recently updated the stage, which is nice because how it's shaped allows for more people to get up close and personal with the bands. They also have part of the ceiling open, so you get the night air inside, which is also nice since it gets very warm. No matter where you stand you have a really great view of the stage, and the sound is fantastic. It's perfect for more intimate shows. Tickets are also reasonably priced ..at least for the bands I wanted to see, they were all under $50 a ticket. There are also multiple bars in the back (but at least one, if not all are cash only). They also have a great selection of shows every summer! Personally I've seen Andy Grammer, Granger Smith (twice!), Buckcherry, and the Struts. I'll definitely be back next summer! read more

Let me start by saying I have never written a single negative review about an establishment ever. As someone who has worked in the industry for years I am understanding that service can't always be perfect; however, I have never experienced such atrocious and downright vicious customer interaction by a staff ever. Upon arriving at Bottle & Cork, we expected no cover charge (Attached Is a screenshot of the promoted event where it is clearly highlighted "NO COVER"). The woman at the door: about mid 50's with blonde hair said we would be charged 10$ to get in. I thought to myself "no big deal, it's only ten dollars." However, just to confirm with the woman I asked, "so you're not honoring what it says on your website." Her response: "No, I know nothing about that - IT'S NOT LIKE THIS MONEY IS PAYING FOR MY MORTGAGE." Snubbed by such an unwarranted comment, I said nothing because I figured: maybe she's just having a rough night. We've all been there, right? Our group continued inside with hopes of finding a manager or someone more level-headed to confront the issue without the snark we received from the woman at the door. Instead, we were greeted by the hateful gentleman in charge (around 50 years old, with long hair tied back in a ponytail.) His response when we asked about the false advertisement: "I know nothing about what's on the website; you can either get in or get out." After that our group was done, we had never experienced such disrespect, so we chose to leave but demanded the money back we paid to get in. The miserable man continued to run his mouth at us, claiming we were senseless for paying in the first place and screaming: "I want you all out now." I confronted the man for being so defensive and his poor attempt at resolving the issue with bar patrons. His response was that he didn't care, to just take off our wristband and get out of his bar. My advice to anyone reading this: so long as that disgraceful man and woman work there, you should go elsewhere (the Starboard and Woody's about a block away were both a great time.) And here's some words of wisdom to the vicious man and woman from someone half your age on how you could've handled the situation by saying: "I'm so sorry, I wasn't aware that the website was advertising tonight as a free cover charge. Unfortunately, this is something that's out of my control and I can do nothing about it at the moment. Still though, here is the company/owner's phone number and email for you to contact in the future and hopefully they can resolve the issue for you." IT COULD HAVE BEEN THAT SIMPLE. The establishment would have made 80$ off of cover charges, plus hundreds more off of drinks at the bar. Shame those two unruly workers lost the bar such business. read more

My night started out great at the Chris Lane concert. My family and I were having a great time singing along and dancing with the music. I am very short (5ft tall) and thought it would be fun to get on my cousins shoulders. I got on her shoulders and out of no where was violently ripped down by a bouncer. The bouncer did not ask me to get down first, he grabbed me by the arm and forcefully pulled me down to the point where it left bruises on my arm. I am 5ft tall and weigh just over 100 pounds. The bouncer was very big and it was very unnecessary for him to do such a thing. I filled out an incident report with Kathleen who was a manager and she explained to me why I wasn't allowed on someone's shoulders (due to the concrete floors) and I completely understand that after it was explained to me, but that does not excuse the bouncer's violent actions. I would have gladly gotten down if he had asked me to. A man in a grey shirt with a pony tail, who I assume was either the owner or the manager, was very rude and tried to turn the incident around on me telling me "You understand why the bouncer did that right?" And "did it ever occur to you you were the only one on someone's shoulders?" And I kindly explained to him that his bouncer should have asked me to get down rather than ripping me down to the point of leaving bruises. He brushed it off, did not apologize for the bouncer's actions and Kathleen asked me not to write a bad review when I told her I was going to post pictures of the bruises. The incident was handled very unprofessionally. They did not even attempt to find the bouncer who did it writing "unknown doorman" on the incident report. read more

Cool idea for a bar. I visit frequently because friends like it. However, it's pretty awful and my least favorite place on earth. Bouncers usually drink and get too drunk resulting in poor decision making. I've seen many old ladies pushed or yanked many times. Yes they were drunk, but whenever they aren't bothering anyone and just dancing there's no reason for a bouncer to interact with them, let alone ever treat a human like a package versus a living being. Also, it's a cash only bar which seems appalling for 2019 (unless there is some shady under the table business going on). ATMs have a fee that you have to pay the owner ON TOP OF the ATM fee (again sketchy). It's also bit of an older crowd, ok if you don't mind that. ZERO STARS. I seriously can't emphasize this enough. I'll give a little play by play. Walk in around 5pm on Saturday. Go to the bar to grab my first drink. Noticed my friend heavily intoxicated. After I finished my drink the bartender gives me a look like "dude, your friend" so I was said "yeah I know, I'll take her". We start heading OUT the door. Literally walking out of the bar, so we're about 20 feet from the door. All of the sudden I feel someone gripping my arms, shoving me, screaming "get out". I whipped around yelling "you're hurting me, what are you doing." A middle aged bouncer was not only putting his hands on me, but wrongfully so. #1 I was literally walking out the door without even being asked. #2 I was not drunk. #3 touch me again and I will cut you (yes, thats a threat). I leave, furious, obviously. I honestly couldn't even believe what just happened. Fast forward 3 hours, my arm is completely bruised with hand marks to show where the bouncer was grabbing me. The next day I went in to speak with a manager, of course they weren't opened. I've been calling every day since and no one picks up. I suggest starting by firing your anger driven bouncers who are going to get you a lawsuit. YOU ARE A BOUNCER, a bad one at that. This is no disrespect towards people in the industry, I'm a bartender. But dude, get off your high horse and learn how to do your job without hurting people before you get thrown in jail. read more

Interesting place. Definitely a beach bar atmosphere. I had bought tickets online to see Almost Queen. On the bar's Facebook page, it said the show was from 9:00-1:00. The band didn't start until almost 10:30. Upon walking in at 8:30, the place seemed ok. Floors were wet from having just been hosed down, and they had four distinct bar sections set up for a rocking night. After my first drink, I went to the men's room to see one of the two sinks plastered with vomit. Considering they had just opened, I assume it had been there since the night before. Shortly thereafter, my wife used the ladies room and reported that there was puke on the floor. Because of the band playing, the crowd was small (about 60 folks in the whole place), and most of them had gray hair. There was way too many bartenders on staff tonight and there was no need for the six security folks. The crowd was a mellow bunch and no trouble at all. We had taken two of the 6 bar stools in the whole place, and sat at one of the stations all evening. With the older crowd, any time one of us got up, someone always walked over to take the seat away for themselves. In fairness, most of them appeared AARP age and it was past their bedtime. The staff was attentive, and refills were right there, as needed. I felt bad for the bartender and left him a $20 tip for a total of $17 in drinks, since we were his only customer of the evening. In all, it seemed like an ok place. The only thing lacking was some kind of snacks at the bar. A bowl of pretzels would have been cool, but they didn't offer anything to nosh. The only other complaint I heard was lack of seating. The 'broken hip' crowd stood on their feet for 4 hours. A few folks mentioned wanting to rent a beach chair and set it up in the middle of the floor. I can see how the place could get hectic and out of hand if the genre of music that night was more modern. I was thankful for the sedate, older crowd wanting to relive the 80s for a few hours before Alzheimer's sets in, and they lose the reminders of their youth in a purple haze. In short, I'd go back if the music suited my tastes, but it isn't a bar I'd go to just to hang out and have a couple of drinks. read more

I have been regularly visiting Bottle and Cork for almost 5 summers now. A few things have remained the same: 1. I never fail to get at least one can of beer stuck in my flip flop or slip on it at some point during the night. 2. I spend more on three cans of beer ($4) here then if I just went next door and bought a 12 pack and put it in my purse. 3. Great bands 4. At least one really old woman who is trying to re-live her twenties a hot mess. If you're staying nearby and have an outdoor area- it's fun to just sit on the porch and listen- it's pretty loud. Anyway, I am a big fan of Jam Session on Saturdays- get there early especially if it's not a beach day- I especially like on holiday weekends when they have Jam on Sundays too. If you are looking for a laid back evening- it's not going to be here. Most likely it will involve lots of drunk people bumping you and jumping around to the music. I am usually one of those people so I try not to let the others bother me. Word of advice- DO NOT get a red bull & vodka here- I paid $9. If I wanted to spend that much I would have spent the weekend in Manhattan. read more

Came here on a Saturday night. If you come here, you must love live bands. The cover bands had great energy, entertaining and there was no cover. Free music!?!?! I can't complain about that. The ambiance is sort of divey and obviously loud, so don't be a snob if you go. Its the beach!! Go for the live band, have some drinks and have fun! That's what its about. I don't care who you are, if you love live music and want a good time, then come here. Atmosphere is what you expect for a live venue. Countless mainstream bands have started here, and I cant wait to finally say, "I saw them back when..." it's a rock bar with bands that play whatever gets the crowd moving. This place is a decent place to visit when you are in the area. I was here a couple of times. However, the last time I was here, it left a bad taste in my mouth. As I was walking toward the entrance, one of the bouncers decided to call out my girls and me a racial slur, "Ling Ling". How dare him? It was not an appropriate way to greet your patrons. After a few exchange words between him and I, he decided to say sorry to us. I had ZERO parts in anything physical that happened around me. I tried to ask him and without any kind of decency he says shut the fuck up they say you were pushing so your done. Whoever "they" were, what makes their words true and me in the wrong. There was crap going on around me but I had nothing to do with it. They are too focused on being tough macho guys. Leaving a scratch on my arm. I may be a lady but I didn't appreciate the roughness and once I was being thrown out I began to give it back. I'm 29 years old and I have never been into the bar scene. I was only in Dewey to see Jimmie Allen. I hadn't even got a buzz yet. They just made me feel the completely opposite of who I really am. They could hand out 100 dollar bills at the door and I'd walk right passed. They need a serious attitude adjustment. Last night, I went to Bottle & Cork with my husband, my brother, and sister in law. We were sitting on a bench that was apparently reserved for bouncers. A bouncer comes out of no where and sits on my lap while mid conversation with my sister in law. (The boys were getting a drink at the bar 10 feet away). I asked him politely to please get off and respect me, as I was married and felt very uncomfortable. He got in my face and said, "oh yeah? What's your husband going to do?" I asked him once again to back off and he continued to get in my face. I pushed the bouncer off my lap and he grabbed my wrists. Causing cuts and bruising to my right wrist...(see the photo attached) He continued to push me and say "GET OUT!" I screamed my husbands name and he and my brother came to find out what was going on. Before I knew it, I was being pushed out of the bar for sitting, having a conversation with my sister in law, and doing nothing wrong... This morning, my husband was looking at the yelp reviews and we are SHOCKED to see that so many women have this problem at this establishment. The only nice guy in this bar, was a bartender (Shrek) that my husband bought a drink from. Thanks for the water. For the dude that laid his hands on me for sitting on your bench, shame on you. This is the main attraction of Dewey if you are college aged. Good music but not great service. Took like 30 mins to be waited on. They also aren't really following coronavirus regulations. You have to wear a mask walking in and then you see basically a mosh pit of people in the front next to the stage with no mask. Also not a great selection of alcohol. I went here twice. We went to Bottle & Cork for jam session. My friends love jam session. The cover was $5. I have never seen that many people in one place. You could not move AT ALL! It was very frustrating. You couldn't talk to anyone (you couldn't hear them), and it was tough to order a drink. The band was so-so. I was not impressed. The bar has tons of potential. No cover. Open air section in the back with two bars. Stage for the band. Decent sound system. But the music and the people... jeez. When we went on a Friday night, there was a cover band who, if you gave them the chance to play Wagon Wheel nonstop for half an hour, they probably would. And the crowd would eat it up. So... it was that kind of crowd. There were 40-year-old guys dressed like frat boys and dancing like old white people do. Drinks were cheap (cash only) and shots were $5 a pop. So you're at the beach. I repeat.. you are at the beach. You're not a the 9:30 club, or the Trocadero, or some showy place in NYC. So this is not the place to dress to the nines, or show off hipster designer duds, unless you want to get them spilled on. Watch out also for the uneven concrete floor. Most of the venue is outdoors, as people sashay from bar to bar, to get cans of beer and simple rail drinks in solo plastic cups. The place has good things and bad things going for it. The bad is the beer selection is terrible. In fact only one of the bars even had two taps which I was hoping to get something out of, with one that was empty. The other had a Goose Island handle so I said, ok this has potential. I asked so what's the Goose Island beer? To which the bartender said... it's a pumpkin ale. uh Goose Island doesn't make a pumpkin ale. So I passed. Some of the staff are nice but many are also clueless. Was the kid in the t-shirt shop half baked at will call? Hardly anything to really complain about that much (except crummy beer selection and over priced macro cans), but if there is a band that you want to ideally see and they are playing here, it's a good sounding venue. Also even with sellout shows the place isn't that packed allowing some space to move. It actually has a decent sound system, and pulls off some good intimacy for viewing. I can see the place also being a bit of a pit if the frat and college element shows up which I know does often. When I was there it was a much older crowd which made it a different feel. Either way if there was a band here I wanted to see I'd have no problem going back for sure. Best Rock N Roll bar in the world? uh no.. but a fun stop when the cards line up. read more

The cork is fun ...but it's not for everyone. I love going there to see old & new friends and listen to awesome cover bands. It does get a bit messy so dress down (bathing suit and coverup). It also gets pretty crowded, mostly on holidays. read more

Bottle & Cork, Dewey Beach, MD: was here a few weeks ago, the bar/club/live venue rocked, with incredible staff and awesome bands. Tonight, I buy tickets in advance for Citizen Cope. For most people, a one hit wonder. Convince a friend to come and join me, we show up, running late, just gone 9 pm, but we buy 3 rounds of drinks and still are waiting at 10:30 pm for Citizen Cope to show up... come on! They are a one hit wonder, but could be so much more, but their arrogance and impotence will leave them to the throws of the septic tank of one hit wonders. I assume that the local venue is not at fault due to their timely deliverance of brilliant entertainment at Jam Session every Saturday night, without fault. I left before they came on stage and am appalled that they made money for incompetent work they did not deserve. Bottle & Cork, they do not deserve to be back at your venue again. I was talked out of going to Miami to go to Dewey Beach instead. And though B&C is no Miami Shore Club, it has its niche- to sufficiently quench my thirst and keep me satisfactorily entertained with its 80s cover bands. By about 4pm the party gets started. By 6pm there is a thin layer of beer cans covering the ground. By 8pm you float over to some thug bar in Dewey Beach like the Rusty Rudder, and by 9pm you're back at Bottle and Cork. read more
