Went to Diego's the night of Seawitch Festival. Up until this date they had a poster advertising free admission for those in costume. That night the poster was down and they were charging $10.00 to get in. Friends of mine saw the poster as well. So much for truth in advertising. On other weekend nights they use a surge pricing model. As the night goes on the cover charge can increase from $10 to $30 to get in. Labor Day weekend they were charging $30 to get in. None of the gay bars in Rehoboth charge a cover. read more

When I posted my first review I mostly noted the $25 cover charge as being excessive. Well, it seems that ownership has decided to double down and the most recent cover charge was an astonishing $30 per person on a Saturday evening. Thankfully, both Aqua and the Blue Moon are *not* charging cover and are also open until 1AM on weekend nights. read more

First of all, I want to say how thankful I am for this club for my community. I come to Rehoboth every memorial day week with tons of friends and coming to your club for the weekend to Dance is a highlight. But I have to say I left the club tonight very disappointed because of the DJ. I love Magnolia Applebottom as a drag performer but a DJ she is not. Her mixing was horrific and almost unbearable at moments. I just feel like you could do better for such a popular weekend at your club. My friends and I wanted to surf the crowd to see if there was a DJ anywhere near. I beg you to consider someone more suited to the job next year. read more

Anytime someone posts anything negative (and they all seem like legitimate reviews) about this place the owner, most likely Joe, always follows up with some whiny half-baked excuse as to why treating their customers like garbage is ok. Also, for some reason, he keeps bringing up the fact that the bar has "the only dance floor in town" like this adds some legitimacy to his attitude. First, don't treat your customers like crap. This is why so many locals won't step foot in this bar. Second, you are a bar owner - nothing more. You are not the "keeper" of gay culture in Rehoboth and you never will be. Learn some respect for people spending money in your establishment instead of having to argue about everything in order to appease your sad fragile ego. Hopefully this place will get sold soon and be run by professionals. read more

For a local bar, Diego's has a very nice layout. Outdoor seating, indoor seating, drink specials, friendly staff and customers who check their attitudes at the door. Went this weekend it was my first time. I mind you I was nervous because I had a black eye when I came. Drinks: The first bartender offered me a creamsicle frozen drink it was amazing. It tasted just like the popsicle but with a kick. I then made friends with manny the bartender. We talked and they made me feel at home. A few dreamsicles later I had met so many new friends. Music: Magnolia Applebottom was the Dj and she played lively dancehall music mixes which I loved. There were plenty of guys dancing shirtless through the night and I took off my shirt and started dancing with my dad bod and I felt right at home. Environment: The atmosphere was awesome it was clean and fairly well lit with open spaces both inside and outdoors. Two bars and although it was fairly crowded the bartenders were quick and friendly. Overall: Whenever I come to Rehobeth this will be my dance spot! read more

Why is your door guy trying to fight people??? I agree with another review here on Yelp and others that I have found on other sites. I have seen the same thing. The doorman here needs to lose the horrible attitude. First, this is the first thing your money spending customers see, second, with that many people around a fight breaking out is going to get a lot of people injured. I have always had an incredibly fun time at Diego's, but , the other night I had an unfortunate accident, When I returned from the bar with a drink for my friend and me, I attempted to climb into my seat at the outdoor bar. Unfortunately, the chair broke and I hit the floor quite hard. Fortunately, the bar tender, Eddie, came to my assistance. I had only had two drinks and it turned out the seat was defective. After making sure I was not injured, Eddie asked me throughout the night if I was ok. The following day, I received an incredibly nice note from Toni Marie (she attends to the entrance door) inquiring as to how I was feeling. SO FAR AND ABOVE THE CALL OF DUTY)!!! Thank you Eddie and Toni Marie for your concern and your kindness!!!! I appreciate it MORE than you will ever know!! And, to the owners of Diego's, you are most fortunate to have employees of this caliber!!!! As a retired businessman, I know the value of good employees. These two are the cream of the crop!!!!!!!! I will give a full review below but I need to point out that I question the safety of this place due to the actions of an employee. I will be posting this across multiple sites. Went to Diego's on 6-3-2023 for the first time while visiting friends (local residents) in Rehoboth. We went just as the place opened and stayed for the drag show (review below) and then came back later for the DJ (also review below). While sitting outside we could witness what was going on at the door and the young doorman, who barely looked old enough to work there, had the most garbage attitude with customers all night. That guy almost got punched twice and that was just what I witnessed. The first time was before the drag show but the second, and more problematic time, was later at night when it was crowded. Our LGBT+ people are already a target for violence and an incident like that could have been misinterpreted causing confusion and panic in the crowd and there is only one exit for the entire nightclub. I do not care how important you think your establishment is, you don't put someone at the door who is going to act like a self-important a**hole, start arguments and treat your customers like sh*t. They need to get that person off the door and replace him with an actual adult before his actions lead to violence and someone getting injured or worse. Also, my friends tell me that the two guys who nearly punched out this man-child of a doorman were locals and regulars to the bar. FYI, don't piss off your locals. When the summer crowds disappear it's the locals who pay your bills in the off months. First rule of business - DON'T SH*T WHERE YOU EAT. I was also told by another bar patron who was also there, although I did not witness this directly, that the business owners have always had the continuing reputation of making up excuses for their employee's unprofessional behavior. If I ever return to Diego's again and this same person is working the door I will go elsewhere where I know I will be safer. Now for the actual review: I will say that the space itself is fantastic, at least in my opinion. The place is bigger than it looks from the outside. They have a huge outdoor space, part of which was covered, a good-sized outdoor bar, and an inside space with a dance floor that had a smaller bar that was closed and I was told is only open later at night, which I was also told is a particular pet-peeve of the locals. It was cold outside that night so it wasn't a problem but I can't understand how a business doesn't open the only air-conditioned space for customers when it's 90+ degrees outside during the summer. Again, that makes me question the owner's self-importance over their own customers. The bartenders were great and made decent drinks. I understand that people complain about the prices but first off you are at a beach resort so everything is expensive, and secondly its still cheaper than Philly or New York. The bar staff was friendly and accommodating (actually some of the best I have ever experienced in a gay bar) even when the place was super busy. Nice to see that the attitude inside did not match the attitude outside. I was also told that a lot of the outdoor space was newly remodeled this year. I'm usually not big on drag shows but it was good and I am told she performs there often. She actually sang with her own voice and didn't lip-sync which is a nice change. She was often flat and had a tendency to mumble when she talked but otherwise she was quite entertaining. I would go back to experience this again. There is a food truck in the bar's outdoor space, and we were planning on staying all night and eating from the truck, but as a chef my experience with that was a disaster. They have a large professional pizza oven but somehow manage to produce a flat, lifeless crust. Not sure how they accomplished that. I'm told that was normal. We left to get dinner and came back later. I'm told that sometimes the entry line can be very long but getting back in later in the evening was easy. The earlier unprofessional attitude filled man-child doorman wasn't at the door when we arrived but we saw that he showed back up not long after and continued with his earlier drama. There was a DJ playing typical club music but DJs are the same; it's just some person playing music from a laptop. The music was decent though. Overall I liked the place a lot but I question if I would ever return to an establishment where the unprofessional actions of a single employee make me question my own safety. *Keep an eye out for my review of another outdoor Rehoboth bar, AQUA, which will include far less drama which is ironic since it was full of DC queens.* read more

What a GREAT find. (Thank you YELPers) We had been in Bethany visiting friends & wanted a Saturday night out dancing. This place was just the ticket. Very very fun. Friendly Bartenders. Really cute shirtless guys wandering thru the crowd offering up Vodka Fruit "shots". Cute Go Go-Go Dancer. The DJ was AWESOME - really great CIRCUIT PARTY type professional Mixes. Get there before 10 PM for free entry. It got really packed around 11 PM - nice mix of a crowd as far as ages. Both younger & older. Really nice outdoor Patio to hang out at as well. Beware of unwritten and unstated rules because the staff and managers will be rude and unprofessional if you break them. This is what happened our first time there since it was changed from the Double L. We check to make sure there was smoking allowed outside and yes, it is. HOWEVER, that does not include cigars or pipes, only cigarettes. No where and at no time is that stated and so, since the use of all three forms of tobacco is 'smoking' we brought cigars and lit up. A few minutes later a rude and confrontational waitperson comes to tell us that 'cigar smoking is not allowed and if you don't like talk to the manager.' Well, words to that effect. We put out (wasted) good cigars and then walked out. On the way out we did talk to the manager and he informed us that 'people were leaving because of cigars' and 'they have never allowed cigar smoking' and other words to that effect. And he was right, we left and will not be back, not because of cigars, but because of unwritten rules, misleading websites and FB pages, and rude and unprofessional managers and waitstaff. read more

The drink prices are higher than DC or Manhattan. The Breakers in Palm Beach is less. I will never go back even if it becomes the only gay bar in Rehoboth. Don't patronize this place. Great place to go with friends for a drink or two. Happy hour has lots of drink specials, great music playing (usually a really good dj playing), and don't forget to grab some pop corn from the pop corn machine. Drinks are reasonably price, the atmosphere is great, and the new owners really have done a great job on making the place a NICE place to go! You can also bring your dog and hang out in the really nice outdoor patio area. read more

What a difference the new owners of Diego has made transforming the previous tired Double L (RIP) into this fantastic new venue for the gay visitors to Rehoboth. The bar staff are awesome - so friendly. The entire new look wowed me. And it's a short walk from the Shore Inn, which is an awesome gay motel. I've been here several times, both for after beach cocktails and for late night dancing, both were excellent. Diego's has a very friendly staff with good drinks, that aren't overpriced. They are pet friendly, so I've been able to take my dog for one of their Yappy hours. Plus, dancing at night is excellent. They also have a large outdoor area. I'd definitely recommend coming here, it's fun and friendly. read more
