This may be the greatest crab cake I've had in all my 43 years!!! I am a total lover of a nice Delaware or Maryland crab cake, and this totally hit my top marks!!! Woody's totally reaches the "World famous crab cake" title!!!

[[HIGHLIGHT]]An awesome beach bar/ restaurant with indoor & outdoor seating.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Many TV's with ballgames.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The service is friendly and food comes fast. Drinks are flowing . Even though every reviews raves about the crab cake- it deserves to be- they are THE BEST!

Woody's crab cakes are definitely a must get during a trip to Dewey. The crab cakes have so much crab and such little filler that they are a little bit mushy, but because the flavor is 10/10 it's worth it. Crab cakes come as a sandwich or a platter and then they offer a variety of sides. The Asian slaw was actually so delicious and was the perfect accompaniment. Even though we all ordered crab cakes the menu is large with lots of amazing seafood options. [[HIGHLIGHT]]They have a really nice outdoor patio, but it's hard to snag a spot at dinner time.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Unfortunately we ended up inside and it was a bit stuffy.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Still an incredible experience though!

My girlfriend and I were excited to try Woody's because of the good reputation and it was only a short walk from our hotel. When we arrived, the older man who was seating guests was staring straight down at his phone and didn't realize we were there. When he finally noticed and seated us on the patio, we watched everyone around us get service. No one came to greet our table for about 10 minutes, therefore I had to go up to the hostess again and ask him if we could have a server. When the server finally arrived, he wasn't apologetic and honestly it seemed like our presence annoyed him. We were pretty discouraged at this point and ended up just opting to get drinks and apps at this and then dinner elsewhere. The oranges crushes were all very good. We tried the whipped crush and grapefruit crushes which were delightful. The crab soup was also very good and the nachos were mediocre, but we expected that from a seafood restaurant. The menu is pricey due to the location of the restaurant and they are known for their crab cakes, but we didn't stay for entrees. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant itself is on the smaller side with seating in and outside.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The overall vibe of the staff was strange, some servers very bubbly and warm to their tables, but most seemingly miserable. Overall, we were disappointed but would try it again hopeful our experience was not the norm.

Excellent food. Crab cakes are a must and their Asian tuna! Orange creamsicle crushes are delicious as well. Highly recommend, but go early or you'll wait

Just the best jumbo lump crab cakes! Never disappoints, consistently outstanding, always glad we stopped. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Good amount of outdoor seating, limited dedicated parking but street parking available, good service.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Beachy vibe outside and classic bar vibe inside.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

We come to Woodys as a tradition whenever we go to Dewey Beach. They have the best jumbo lump crabcakes, made with barely any filler. You can taste the crab every bite and all the other food is delicious as well. You can tell the kitchen takes pride in their food. It is a highly popular spot so a wait may happen but if you go early or in between peak hours you should find a spot. 100% recommend and will keep coming back every time. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The vibe is awesome as a beach bar.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Great place located along the main drag way of Dewey.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Parking is nonexistent, and parking in general in this beach town is tricky. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Once you find your way here, there's tables on a patio, tables under a covered patio, and a few tables inside along with a bar.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]This isn't a massive restaurant. However, it is a very welcoming and friendly place to grab a bite to eat.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] This is a locals place for sure. Our server was great! Very attentive and our food didn't take long to come. Been in a few times and it's the same employees so obviously they treat them well if they stay for extended periods of time/years. Ordered crab soup and two different types of wings - Old Bay and Mild. Both were ordered extra crispy and both were cooked perfectly!! They are tasty. Highly recommend the wings. Always will be a favorite of ours while visiting the area. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Do yourself a favor and swing in for terrific food, drinks, and the feeling that you are at a friend's patio just enjoying the beach vibes![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Woody's is clearly a Dewey legend so I definitely wanted to experience it for myself. I can see (and taste) why their crab cakes are top ranked - fresh tasting with minimal filler. For the price, they need to level up their tartar sauce - it's too heavy on the mayo component and greasier than others. Service is great, which is no surprise.

Not the best photo, but that's only because I went right in, forgetting to take the picture first

I consider myself a connoisseur of all things crab so when my friend recommended that we go to Woody's in Dewey Beach, for "the best crab cake ever", I was all in. Well, if we're only going off of the restaurant's likability by the number of seats available, there was one table left and we got it. I scanned the entire menu but the crabcake appealed to me most because it said it was virtually filler less, which meant that the lump crab meat was going to be plentiful. The wait was very short and I was not disappointed by the quickness or that crab cake in the least. Let me tell you something. I love a good crab cake with no filler and this went above and beyond. I looked around, it seemed pretty obvious that everyone felt the same way I did. I ordered a crabcake with no bread but left the old bay chips on there because they were homemade and I got myself a crush. Nothing about that meal was mediocre. It was the best. I'm still thinking about it to this day. I know there are plenty of places at the beach that you might want to frequent but if you love yourself, you'll go there at least once, but I'm assuming that you'll go back a couple of more times. there's not a whole lot left to say about that crabcake except I sure wish I had taken one to go. Enjoy!

Crab cake and salad! Very very good!!

The service matched that energy perfectly: attentive without being intrusive, genuinely friendly,…read moreand clearly proud of what they were serving. And then there was the food. Every single dish we ordered was outstanding, no exceptions. Each plate showed real care in preparation, with flavors that were bold, balanced, and memorable. It's rare for an entire meal to hit without a single weak note, but that's exactly what happened here. Only recommendation? Add more N/A options (less juice forward). Maybe a Phony Negroni or something. What stood out most was how the whole experience came together--great food, great service, and great atmosphere rarely align this seamlessly. Shorebreak isn't just a solid meal out; it's the kind of place you start planning your next visit to before you've even left. Highly, highly recommend.

Our favorite meal of the trip…read more Decor/service: cute place with a little outdoor sitting area. The tables are a little close together for my liking. The staff was friendly and service was quick Food: their menu has gluten allergens clearly labeled. we tried numerous appetizers including the crab soup special, fancy fries, deviled eggs, and brussel sprouts. The sprouts were our least favorite of them as they were way to light on the sauce. The other 3 were all very good and I think my wife died over the soup's flavor. The chorizo meatloaf had each component good tasting but when combined was great. The short rib entree was both beautiful and tasty!
