We all know the pregame can be fun. 2nd- A slew of great tapped crafts one can enjoy. 3rd- Their impressive selections of different crafts from cans to bottles you can purchase. 4th- For it being small, they utilize the space with the high top tables all around. 5th- You'll definitely stay hydrated. 6th- One can order food from their menu, and I must say looks pretty damn tasty. 7th- Yes please to all of the above. We had a positively lovely dining experience at The Bottle Room. The Station Taproom was where we wanted to be but they were not yet open for dine in. The Bottle Room next door serves the same menu. If you haven't been there, the beer choices are wide ranging and the bourbon pear cider is delicious. Our service was fast, efficient, and friendly. Our waiter was helpful and accommodating. We had a seat in the window - it was quite comfortable. The menu offerings tasted as good as the menu made them sound. The servings were generous without being too huge. Pricing was fair. Kerry the bartender is knowledgeable about everything behind the bar and also the menu and even where the honey comes from on the charcuterie board. We tried to get into the Station Taproom but there were five names on the waiting list so we hit this place right next door. I was never so happy we couldn't get a table ... this place is a GREAT find! The Chili Garlic Beef Shortribs was AWESOME and I got a bottle of wine off the shelf and just paid a nominal corkage fee. Quaint little place in downtown Downingtown. A true neighborhood taproom. Friendly staff and customers. Very casual. In some ways it reminds me of a library. In addition to the bar, there's a long (stand up) table near a wall of beer, and two small tables toward the front. There were about 12 beers on tap, beers in bombers and bottles along a back wall, beers in a cooler, and a small selection of wine. They have a small food menu with tacos, soup and desserts. They use the kitchen of their adjoining sister taproom. I had a beer called the Heretic Mango Juicier Than Thou, a NE style IPA made with mangoes. Very nice. Featured beer on tap by the glass, crowler or growler. Interesting selection of bottled beers that appeared to cover all styles or sub-styles. Hopefully I will return some day. read more

Kerry and his staff have made the Bottle Room a must try spot in Chester County. It happens to be connected to Station Taproom which is another gem of Chester County. Huge bottle selection with a to go cooler of four and six packs and now featuring a nice wine selection for in-house consumption or to go. 16 drafts of excellent beers with Tired Hands HopHands always on tap. Oh and a crowler machine to take most of those 16 choices home with you. They do have a small food menu with some sandwich/slider choices or cheese and charcuterie boards. Definitely try the Short Rib Sliders, they will not disappoint. My wife and I usually hit up the Bottle Room for drinks, head to Station for dinner and then back to the Bottle Room for a crowler and/or bottle of beer/wine. They do hold tap takeovers from breweries probably about once to every other month as well as other beer related events. My wife and I attended the Bottle Room's inaugural first Sunday wine tasting event in August with local enophile and wine genius Hudson Austin. This was a dynamite time. Hudson made wine accessible and conversational in a way that I never knew. The shop's owner, Kerry, was great in explaining how the evening's tasting would break down, what we could expect, and really setting the stage for a great tasting experience. And, the bonus opportunity to order any of the wines we sampled and learned about didn't hurt, either! My wife and I look forward to the next session, which I hear might have an Italian influence. This is absolutely one of my favorite places in Downingtown. What makes them highly recommended is the great craft beer selection, a cozy environment, the most personable staff, and fabulous food! The PB&J taco is so unique and crave worthy. It's definitely worth a visit. read more

Bottle room with chessboards? YES PLEASE! This is another favorite in the Downingtown area. Food here is also another highlight. Charcuterie is always on point with amazing selections of meats, cheeses, jams, dips and honey. Taco Tuesdays are utterly fantastic, $2 tacos and they do not skimp! Cheese dips are always so flavorful and they change them up frequently so you never get bored. Besides their awesome tap selection they also have a entire wall almost floor to ceiling about 25 feel long full of beers and ciders from around the world. Even though these beers are room temp they have a speed chiller that can bring any of those bottles to drinking temperature in less than 7 minutes (not that I've counted). They also have a small section of local stuff including Dressler Estate which is cider made right in Downingtown. They have 2 chess boards in the nook windows, I even competed in a Bottle Room tournament here, such a great time for everyone! I also love that TV's aren't the focal point of this bar, plenty of people sitting and chatting enjoying a brew with friends both new and old. Long Live Bottle Room! read more

I love the bottle room. It is cozy and has a great selection of beers! Love the cheese and meat charcuterie they have but I gave them a 4 only because I did not enjoy the fried chips and guacamole. Just don't fry the chip! So unnecessary! They just end up tasting stale! read more

We took the train out to Downingtown for dinner and found ourselves a bit early so stopped in for a drink. Its situated right across from the station. You walk in to high ceilings, a ton of wood craftsmanship and cast iron finishes, nice sized bar and long high top table. Perfect for relaxing with friends. One TV which is nice if a big game is on but still unobtrusive. Nice tap selection too, glad to see high quality local beers on the board like Tired Hands, Sterling Pig and 2SP. Great selection of bottles on the wall, my only small critique would be maybe having more of them in the fridge cases so they're ready to enjoy on site instead of just to-go. Great spot. read more

don't be stupid. this is a room filled with bottles of beer. so, it's a fantastic name. if you give them money... you can drink any of the beers in the room which is terrific. plot twist... they have some food too. this was not mentioned in the name but bottle and some food room is just too wordy. you know that guy... the one in your group of friends who is kind of a d-bag know it all about beer. bring him here and watch him be humbled. not only is there selection erection inducing but more importantly, the staff is overtly friendly and can not only make novice beer geeks feel welcome but also model behavior that all condescending hop snobs should seek to emulate. read more

Great place for a quick drink and bite. Especially nice for overflow of the Tap Room, because they get packed! They mostly have smaller foods, not the full menu like Tap Room. Although they are very similar, they both have different menus and tap lists. Nice cheese and meat plate and typically quieter than Tap Room.
