It's on the smaller side, which I enjoy--as long as I can grab a seat! Otherwise, I might wish for just a bit more space. Unfortunately, after our experience here last week, I will not be returning. During dinner, my husband suffered a sudden medical emergency in the restroom and lost consciousness twice. It was an incredibly scary situation, and I was very disappointed with how the staff handled it. When I was brought into the restroom, it felt like the focus was much more on cleaning up and documenting the incident than making sure my husband was okay and getting him medical attention. Other customers were still being allowed into the restroom while we were dealing with the situation, rather than giving us any privacy. At one point, my husband and I went into a stall so I could stay with him while we figured out what was happening. Management knocked on the stall and asked us to come out so they could take a statement for insurance purposes. I understand that an incident needs to be documented, but I really wish they had given us a few minutes and prioritized his immediate well-being first. I was also uncomfortable with how repeatedly we were asked how much he had been drinking, which made it feel as though alcohol was being assumed to be the cause. He had two drinks over the course of approximately two hours, which was reflected on our bill. Most concerningly, 911 was not immediately called. Our friends at the table actually had to ask the staff whether they had called, at which point staff asked whether they thought they should. Thankfully, my husband is okay, but this was an extremely frightening experience. I understand the staff were dealing with an unexpected situation, but I wish it had been handled with more urgency, compassion, and concern for his safety. read more

Ventured into West Chester (we love this town) on a mission for cake and decided to stay for brunch. Excitedly anticipated reservations at West Chester Seafood Kitchen and our stay out stood the expectations. Oh what fun it is to brunch!!! We arrived with 10:30am reservations, arrived and were promptly seated in the middle of the dining room. This place has so much space! The tables are proportioned about well and love the long bench seating opposed from the kitchen window. Decor is tidy and of modern aesthetic ocean vibes. Everything complemented, including the floor pattern - which I obsessed over, lol. Absolutely adored the built in and all the nautical knick knacks. Our waitress was a doll. Charming, attentive and spoke with great eye contact. We decided on eats and a mid morning cocktail. I had the standard espresso martini and my husband tried one of peanut butter variety. Both deep in espresso flavor and not too sweet. Oysters to start. A half dozen of 3 varieties. So wonderful to be able to select a few kinds to sample. We enjoyed them all. Very clean and super fresh. My husband loves horseradish, so it was so nice they offered their standard cocktail sauce with extra. The mini Tabasco sauce we had to take home as memento. Brunch entrees- my husband went part poultry and I kept true to seafood. He had first the Clam Chowder. Lumps of clam and a mid-cream broth. Nice balance of stock and cream. Potatoes did not overtake. This was light but hearty. He dove into those Chicken and Waffles with delight. A savory waffle - how can you not love. And the honey jalapeño butter, I found as much as I could to dip into. Chicken was most and crisp. Hitting all the texture and flavors- sweet, spicy, crunchy with this dish. Delicious. Now my Lobster Roll- LOBSTER!!!! This was incredible. I ate the whole damn thing. The roll was toasty and buttery. The lobster was juicy and plentiful, it was allowed to stand on its own. Didn't push up on too much mayo, or celery, or tarragon. Let the seafood shine - and it did!! The fries were hand cut, and freshly fried. Only critique was the slaw. It was just there. Would recommend to nix it. It didn't add to the dish. This Lobster Roll I will keep in my thoughts of how I am now tainted against all others. Wonderfully done. Dined here for the first time on a Monday and really enjoyed it. The restaurant itself is very nice, bright and airy, and with a great corner location looking out on Gay Street. The big square bar is also inviting. We were seated promptly and our server, who was fun and charming, came over right away. We had cocktails: a smoked "new" fashioned and a "Hugo", a prosecco based drink. Both lovely. For dinner we had the barramundi and the crab cakes and both were very good. We split the chocolate peanut butter cake for dessert and that was also nice. While not a part of the restaurant, I have to mention the downstairs "speakeasy", named 109. It is worth checking out. Dark and club like, but also decorated in various pop ups. Right now it's Valentine's themed. Fun. Overall a very enjoyable evening. read more

This year we decided to stay in the suburbs for my birthday dinner rather than pay for expensive parking in Philly. We decided to sit outdoors as the restaurant has a few sections in the front sectioned off with palm trees although inside looked lively and fun too. Our server asked us if we were celebrating anything, and my family told her it was my birthday. I really appreciated her asking! My daughter and I started with a delicious cocktail. I had the Silver Spritz made with Bulltown Vodka and Aperol. My daughter enjoyed a Salt Aire and loved the hint of cucumber. For dinner, my husband ordered Marinated Roasted Airline Chicken Breast which he said was tasty, and my daughter loved the Tuna Poke although she said it was spicy. Fortunately, we had two carafes of water on our table. I ordered the Pan Seared Barramundi which was a large piece of barramundi along with scallops, shrimp, and middleneck clams. The broth and baby potatoes which accompanied it were delicious, and I ended up using a spoon to enjoy each bite with broth. I didn't know my husband had asked for a candle in our dessert. If I had, i would have ordered dessert. However, our lovely server brought over complimentary Prosecco to end our meal. A classy touch! read more

Fabulous NYE dinner with my beautiful wife, so glad we decided to follow her coworker's recommendation and got to enjoy a feast. I loved this place!! 10 of us came here the morning after my wedding (out of town friends- their first time in West Chester) our server was wonderful. He was so helpful, kind, and patient with us. We got a ton of food, apps, and alcohol. Our server asked if it was a special occasion and gave all of us a champagne toast. The bloody marys here were wonderful! All of the food was fantastic too. I got hired on the spot. Came in to train, FOR FREE by the way, on my only day off, while getting over a sickness, while on the first day of my monthly friend (if you know, you know). I paid $100 for the jeans & shoes they REQUIRED. I was bussing tables and resetting tables and greeting tables ... full blown working for FREE. The bar manager yelled at me because I said I didn't like a drink he made (wasn't even talking to him, he was eve's dropping). I had to reach out to the manager, Jason, FOUR TIMES over a week 1/2 period to find out when I could come in to finish training and he finally told me that the manager on duty that day didn't like me. 1. The bar manager who was mad I didn't like his drink. 2. A miserable lady who said it was her last day (not sure why her opinion matters if she's leaving) she did zero work btw. Just walked in circles. 3. The guy who texted me, Jason, who didn't even acknowledge me until I started a convo with him. Very unprofessional. Also very illegal to make someone work for free. I will be reporting them. Btw, nothing negative happened at work besides the bar manager being mad I didn't like his drink. Even my trainer said I did a great job and I'll do well there. Charming new location in the borough of West Chester. Located inside the new Indigo hotel across the town parking deck is a newish restaurant right on Gay Street. Nicely decorated and large venue with huge bar with plenty of stools for happy hour seating. We got oysters to start all yummy. The fish special was well executed and beautifully served. This is hands down the best restaurant in West Chester! Consistently excellent food, drinks, ambience, and service. The bar is a rectangle wrap-around bar (not many of these in WC) which makes socializing easy and relaxing at the bar nice. They recently opened an outdoor seating area for the summer as well. There is a speakeasy in the basement of the building (under the indigo hotel) too. The seafood is VERY fresh, definitely recommend the Tuna Poke bowl, spicy salmon app, and the seafood tower. read more

My husband and I have been here twice (we leave the kids at home with a babysitter for this restaurant). The staff is super friendly and knowledgeable from the hosts/servers/managers. I am obsessed with the spicy salmon crispy rice appetizer. The calamari is good too. I usually go for one of the fish specials. They seem to always be changing, but are always great. My husband got the seared tuna. It was a nice portion and the fish was melt in your mouth. This time I got the crab cake. It was good, but I would probably stick with the fish specials from now on. This is our current favorite in west Chester with Pietros being a close second. Every fish dish we've had so far has been spectacular. They clam chowder may be one of the best I've had. The mixed drinks are made with precision and taste great (recommend the fat washed smoked old fashioned). The bananas foster has been a staple dessert for us each visit. It's one thing if a place is slammed & you get poor service. It's another subject when you continually have to flag down a person to repeatedly ask for basic items/ refills/etc . It will be a while before returning . We have been here many times . The atmosphere is pleasant , reminds me of a Legal Seafoods type place . For other patrons , I hope this was an isolated night . Our waiter, Reid, was very attentive and fun - we are a fun-loving group and he was right there with us! The drink menu is inventive - Kentucky Manhattan and the Anjou pear drinks were excellent and the espresso martini was pretty (how did they do that?). The Firecracker shrimp and spicy salmon starters were equally tasty, and we all enjoyed our entrees of cioppino, lobster bucatini, crab cake and an ahi tuna special.
