We bought a 2025 Sante Fe from Boucher Hyundai Waukesha, and after a year and half and well within the warranty, our car has been in the service center numerous times for the same issue this past summer (the car won't drive road speeds and is not safe). After keeping the car for days to weeks at a time, we get it back and the same problem occurs. Hyundai Corporate has not been helpful and keeps giving us the run around as we are expected to keep returning to the dealer for a problem that they can't seem to fix. Continually disappointed by the service experience at this Hyundai dealership. I have taken my vehicle in multiple times for oil consumption issues and their lack of attention to this critical matter is truly heartbreaking. My car has been in the shop multiple times while they replace this gasket or that seal, while they keep kicking the can down the road where I will be outside the warranty period. My husband receives great service at Gensis so we decided to start taking my Tucson there for regular maintenance. We had an issue with the brakes that did not get recognized right away and we had to take it back again to get fixed but I assumed this was a one off thing. The service advisor was kind of rude but I let it go. The sunroof broke on my car so we dropped it off before we left for out of town for a few days, as we would not need the car, we indicated we would still be available by phone. We never heard anything and had to reach out when we returned to town and were told it was a miscommunication. Three more days go by and we receive no communication despite reaching out, and were told they did call when in fact they did not and then admitted they were having phone issues. While replacing the piece for the sunroof it was discovered more work was needed and a part would be needed. No problem I understand but we asked for a courtesy vehicle as we were now way past what we had planned for. They indicated they did not have one and said nothing when my husband inquired if Gensis could give us a courtesy. I finally called the general manager who was amazing and had a courtesy vehicle waiting. He acknowledged there was no communication about our vehicle. Upon getting our car back the sunroof as making an noise. We reach back out, our service advisor Alex said he would call us with a courtesy and appointment. We had to reach out again after a week. Upon picking up the courtesy and dropping off my car Alex was visibly annoyed and acted as if I was an inconvenience. Some lights turned on in the courtesy vehicle we immediately let Alex know with no acknowledgement. My car was finished in a few days and again went to pick it up with visible annoyance from Alex and felt like I was an issue, when they are the ones who did not install the sunroof correctly. I am very disappointed in the service and when Genesis and Hyundai where combined service center they provided amazing service. The lack of communication and acknowledgement about the concern was extremely frustrating, I would not be writing this review had we been properly communicated with. Buying a new car from a dealership is not my favorite thing. Boucher Hyundai started strong with Jaleen, but things started to slide down hill when I asked for a price. Jaelen had to talk to his manager. I really hate it when the salesperson has to ask the manager about everything. Then I sit waiting. And things go back and forth. It is such an old game. The manager also made no effort to try to find a car configured the way I wanted it. Instead, he pushed a car on their lot. I understand the desire to sell what is on the lot. But when the manager would not give me a price, which I think we both knew was not going to be the MSRP, I figured this was going to take longer than I hoped, and I slowed my roll. I like to work with the same salesperson all the way through a deal, but B.H was not making it easy. At the end, I used TrueCar and I found a Santa Fe at another dealer who made the experience far less painful. The place has more of a friendly accommodating atmosphere. So i just discovered 2 years now that my truck was in a major front end collision. This was never disclosed to me during the sales process. Yes i know that in Wisconsin that it doesn't have to be disclosed. But you think being a family company i would have atleast been given a car fact report, nope never was. With the whole process going so fast, i did forget to ask, again tho you think i would have been offered one. Yet they were quick as heck to offer me an interior/exterior upkeep package for an aditional 2 grand. Go figure. It was all about the money, and not about doing good by the people in the community who go to there family of dealership, NO WAIT I MEANT FAMILY OF STEALERSHIPS. Now yes while i have a whole new front end suspension wise, not the point. Now my truck will be worth less when i go to trade it in. If I could give this dealership ZERO stars, I absolutely would -- they've earned every bit of this terrible review. I purchased a Santa Fe about 3-4 weeks ago. Prior to arriving, I called ahead, gave the exact make, model, and color I wanted, and was told everything would be ready. All the sales rep -- [Insert Name] -- had to do was have the paperwork waiting. Instead, I sat there for three hours. Strike one. I put down $10,000, traded in my vehicle valued at $14,500, and was quoted $39,500 -- which basic math says should leave me financing around $15,000. Two days later, I received my Hyundai Finance paperwork and discovered that [Insert Name] had sneakily added nearly $5,000 in extras without telling me. No mention. No explanation. Just buried in the contract. Trip 1 - (Keep in mind, this dealership is a 25-minute drive one way) I drove back to confront them and agreed -- against my better judgment -- to split the difference and keep the warranties, just to move on. I tried to be reasonable. Not long after, I noticed the right-side door was making an abnormal sound -- something was clearly broken. This is a brand new car. Trip 2 - I brought the car back and dealt with Devan in service. He told me they didn't have the part, but they would next-day ship it. I had to call them the following day (because no one ever bothers to update you), and Devan told me it hadn't arrived -- but maybe tomorrow. Trip 3 - I called again (of course) and was told it was ready. I drove back, picked up the car... and the issue still wasn't fixed. Trip 4 - I called to inform them the door still wasn't repaired. They told me to bring it in again. I did -- on Tuesday, July 8th. I was told (once again) the part would be overnighted. I called July 9. No part. I called July 10. No part. I called July 11. Still no part. It is now Monday, July 14, and surprise -- they still don't have the part. At this point, they've had my car almost as long as I have. From sales to service, this place is an absolute disaster. Zero transparency. Zero urgency. Zero care for the customer. we purchased a new 2025 Hyunda Palisade from Boucher of Waukesha WI. I was taking the car to the free oil changes we received the car from Boucher. I had a little over 20,000 miles on it. I was told by the Service Support that the mechanic found our brakes needed replacing and wanted close to $1,000 for the service. I told them my husband takes care of any service on the car. Once I said that their attitude changed. we brought our car to a service mechanic who doesn't sell cars. They told us our brakes are fine and dont show any sign of them needed replacement. ALWAYS a bad experience there. This one wasn't the worst, but I'm rating it this way to make up for the last two or three bad experiences I had where I didn't post anything. Had a morning appointment yesterday, brought the car in as soon as they opened. Got a call late in the afternoon that they only had one of the necessary parts so they would have to order it and my car wouldn't be ready until today instead of yesterday. Had they started to look at my car when my appointment was, they could have ordered the part in the morning and maybe had the job done yesterday as promised. But they waited until late afternoon to start. So what are appointment times for? For them, apparently nothing. So when I picked the car up today, they charged me 3% for using my credit card. I use that card to get 2% back on purchases. So I end up losing 1% instead. Having been a business banker my whole life, I know that credit card fees are a part of doing business. Good merchants know that. How many other local businesses do you know that charge you for using a credit card? Yeah, maybe some, but not the majority. By far consistently the worst vehicle service experience I've ever had. Anytime I go in for ANY type of service on my vehicle, it's guaranteed that I'll be there for at least THREE HOURS, which is absolutely ridiculous. One time I had an issue that could've been resolved over the phone as it was just a button that had been inadvertently pushed and turned off a feature. I explained in great detail what was happening and instead of just telling me to check and see if this particular button had been turned off, the service advisor made me come in for a diagnostic check. After waiting for 3.5 hours, he came out and told me it was a button and then tried to charge me a "diagnostic fee" on top of that, which I did NOT pay. I doubt that I'll ever purchase another vehicle from Boucher again. read more

Went to Hyundai Boucher to drive a Genesis GV70. Upon entry into the dealership, we chose to stand 2 ft from the door off to the side while we waited for our salesperson. Soon after, we were encouraged to sit in the salesperson's cubicle. We politely declined. We were then strongly encouraged not to stand to the side of the entry and guided to a tall table to sit. Once the salesperson was available, he greeted my husband and me and shook both of our hands. He new my husband was interested in a test drive and asked for a copy of his driver's license. Disappointingly, he didn't bother to ask if I would like to drive the car in addition to my husband. How do car salesmen don't understand that the wife is going to be the primary influencer in a purchase is beyond me! The SUV drove very nicely although it was a bit of a snug fit for my husband, who's 6'. The interior is sharp and the vehicle has some nice features including brake hold, heads up display, massage seats, and drive assist. Overall, a very nice vehicle. What wasn't very nice is Boucher is charging a "market adjustment" of $7,400 above MSRP for their Genesis vehicles even though Hyundai sent out warning letters to their dealers. KBB has a solid article on this business practice dated 3/31/2022 My husband mentioned to the salesman that he's currently in a lease through the end of January and that he'd need to get through that prior to a purchase. He also shared how much he loves his current vehicle and that the Genesis GV70 was the only car that caught his eye. We walked back in to grab the salesman's business card so we could reach out if/when we wanted to move forward with a purchase. He then took that opportunity to inform his GM that we were in a lease and a purchase wasn't imminent. The GM took that as an opportunity to come over to introduce himself and share with us his opinion on why Ford leasing sucks (FUD). Not impressed at all with this dealership. Just to review, we had a corporate issued discount that saved us a generous amount off sticker price, without fees so no bartering would be applicable. The first place was just too slow, and they were trying to add on fees and talk us out of the car she test drove and wanted and other upsell tactics and they lied too much. The first place was just too slow, but this second place was just too fast (and they also lied to us and insulted our intelligence and like our worst students, responded to our email without actually reading our sent email). Professor-spouse, certainly not stupid though one might question the desire to buy a brand new car when she has no place to drive, was about to give up on the idea of said brand new car when narrowly escaping the clutches of the evil Greenfield Hyundai Dealership sales-dungeon where she was held captive for two hours and tortured with new car sales bartering lies. This place seemed to understand, and immediately drew up the fixed deal for a new 2020 that we knew they needed to unload and do so quickly. End of the month, COVID19 lowered sales, the new 2021s were in and having been faithful fans of "Men of a Certain Age," as well as actual sociological research and having a close friend in corporate, they knew that we knew that they knew what we knew. Or maybe the other way around. But the trade in offer, the only actual wiggle room allowed by this discount, was a thousand dollars low from market so we asked for time to sell it. They offered to hold it to Monday, we said we might be able to move faster than that, we will email. CarMax is just down the block and they are VERY quick and final, so we quickly (and with finality) got a written offer for a thousand more, shot off an email to Boucher saying they didn't have to hold it until Monday we would be in the next day and just before we went back the next day we called and the sales-knave said, "we sold that car, can I interest you in a 2021?" Now, I would have accepted a confession that they took in a bit of a sucker who paid more than we were paying, or that there was miscommunication between salespeople or some other demi-honest apology but instead sales-knave told us (two Ph.Ds with pretty sharp memories for certain things) "I never would have promised to hold a car for anyone." UNBELEIVABLE. You are NOT the President of the United States of America you know. That's what I wanted to say, but we had wasted enough mental energy and after all, spouse-professor really didn't need a car. So, the first Hyundai dealer was just too slow (and lied to us too much) and the second Hyundai dealer was just too fast (in the slippery can't trust them sense, and not at all like my long-winded run-on sentences that I would never ever accept in student essays), but the third Hyundai dealer was.... Service Unacceptable My Hyundai Sonata stopped working in this sub-zero weather. It will no longer move at all when you put it into gear. I need have it towed in for repair. I called this dealer, where I bought my car, and they will not be able to fix it for at least 4 weeks! What kind of service is that? Who can live without their car for 4 weeks? I can take it elsewhere, but then my drive train warranty wouldn't apply. All the other Hyundai dealers are very far from my house, and towing it to them would cost a mint. This car has broken down multiple times this year, and just isn't reliable. As others have stated, don't buy parts online from them. I was given an estimated few daya when my parts would show up. A week after they finally sent me a shipping notice, only that the shipping notice was that they made the label and hadn't actually shipped. Contacted them via email and was told that they don't handle the website, the collection of payment, delivery date destinations, or pretty much anything on the website. and that they are one of the largest oem hyundai parts suppliers in the Midwest, or something to that effect, and that they don't have the logistics to take care of it all being that big. Guess they've never heard of those companies with names like WalMart, Lowe's, Home Depot, or Amazon, that seem to almost do the same thing and within their usually estimated delivery dates. Don't get me wrong - I'm not sorry I shopped here. We searched high and low for a gently used Hyundai Santa Fe. Boucher had one as did another Milwaukee area dealer. We were bouncing between the two, trying to figure out which one to get. The Boucher Santa Fe was Hyundai certified, giving it a better warranty than the dealer-certified one at the other place. We didn't see the main building - that was for new cars. The used car building is an old Pick 'n Save they recently (I hope) bought up and converted. There's no comfort and charm here. The kids had some chairs to camp in while we did our business, but it sure wasn't the cushy comfort new places provide you. To get a copy was a long walk across the open floor. To talk to a manager was a long walk. The finance guy - long walk. Nothing was convenient in this building (yet?). We weren't overly impressed by the staff. Nice people, sure, but the sales guy was pretty much there to facilitate the deal. Like every place, he couldn't blow his nose without talking to his manager. But hey - that's the game. The manager stuck to his guns on the "live market pricing" scheme they all buy into now. We got our deal and headed out. They threw in some gifts and a gas card for coming a distance to buy with them. I'd buy another car there if they had the deal that I wanted, but it's not a place I'm going to go hang out at. Hopefully they're in the process of improving the new digs and will add some of the creature comforts that the other dealers have. read more

I was ready to pull the trigger on a new Kona, however they were really slow with their follow up conversations to the point that the manufacturer incentive expired (I test drove 4 business days before expiration). The overarching issue is that the general manager does not respond to emails and did not make himself available by phone any of the times I called. He sends you an email after you buy the car telling you to let him know if you weren't completely satisfied, but when you email him multiple times, he won't respond. (He'll probably post a response to this review saying "Please call me so I can make this right!" but he has already had every opportunity to make it right.) Not everything goes perfect all the time, and people make mistakes - a good test of how well a business is run isn't whether they're perfect, but how they handle their mistakes and escalations. We had the pleasure to meet Chris D. (sales consultant) at Boucher Hyundai Waukesha. Chris was very patient, professional and even though he was new (3 months) didn't try to act like an expert but was willing to find an answer. We were looking for a vehicle for our daughter something that was good on gas and looked sporty. Chris was able to match us with a Santa Fe Premium, which was not even on our radar. All was going well until we sat down to write up a deal. Anthony who I understand is the Manager at this location was cocky, rude and very unprofessional. The only interest Anthony had was for us to use their financing company for a discount, even though we had our own financing ready to go. We explained we are not interested and made us feel as if he was more interested in getting the financing deal than selling the car. Unfortunately for Chris a pushy person like Anthony killed the deal. Instead of letting Chris gain the experience and work the deal he wanted to belittle him and make him feel as if he was not competent enough to work it out. We would have not had an issue but with Anthony's ego we felt uncomfortable and did not write up a deal. We did receive a call from Chris thanking us for taking the time to come in and if we changed our mind to give him a call. Chris best of luck but if Anthony continues on this path I'm sure it will be difficult for you to gain experience and close a deal. read more

Horrible experience, stay away!!! My husband and I went to buy a 2014 Fiat at this dealership. The price discussed was $8,600. There was continuous talk of warranties that were included with the car. When it came time to sign the paperwork, the total was over $13,000 with all of the warranties added in. Had they said warranties were offered instead of included that would have been a different story. Next, the check engine light came on literally a day off the lot. We brought it back, they cleared the code, two days later same thing. We brought it back September 26th, we didn't get the car back until October 2nd with nothing fixed and were told that we would have to pay $250 to fix the problem. I requested paperwork from the salesman, and sales manager which I only received after calling twice. The paperwork is only an invoice for the repair and no listing of what was actually done to the vehicle while in their position. I feel like every step of this process has been a manipulation, and do not feel valued as a customer. We just bought a new Hyundai Santa Fe from Boucher Hyundai. Our salesman Brad, while new, was great to deal with. He was honest about everything we asked him and really was an advocate on our side. The first time we visited, we were still deciding on which vehicle we wanted, comparing it to another brand, but obviously finally decided on the Santa Fe. Nick, the sales manager, came in to meet us within about 10 minutes of sitting down to talk with Brad. While he is/was new, I still am not a fan of someone coming in so soon. But soon after, we took a test drive and got a few prices and headed home. When we went in to buy, we had done A LOT of research before going in, so we knew the car we wanted and roughly what we wanted to pay. The more information you have and the more comfortable you will feel, and that's how we were. Negotiations were pretty much the same as any new car negotiations. As I said before, there are plenty of places online to get values and give you a ball park of what you should be paying. The first offer on the trade in value was a bit offensive and we almost walked out. I wish all car dealers would just be up front about those things. But I suppose it's all part of the game....that we all hate to play. The day we signed for the car, Brad was great getting the plates off of the old car and over to the new vehicle. After we had signed everything, he took us over to the 'used car' area to look at the car inside, under the lights. There was some glue of some sort left over that the detailers somehow missed where there must have been some stickers or something, so Brad walked back over to the main building and came back with some sort of remover so that we could clean that up before we left for home. I'd say the only downfall was that the "bill of sale" that was created for us so that we could get a check from our credit union to purchase the car, was incorrect. They had calculated the sales tax incorrectly, which meant we had to fork out another $250+ to make sure the sales tax was covered. I guess the guy guessed on the tax amount (we are from Illinois), instead of making sure it was correct. Good thing my wife had her check book, or we would have had to come back another day, because they wouldn't take credit cards to cover it (Cash or Debit). That was definitely irritating. Overall, we're definitely happy with our car! Definitely not a bad place to shop, but make sure you do your homework on costs and trade in value before you make a deal. And look for Brad. I bought a used car from this dealer, about 100 miles after purchase it began to fall apart. The front tires were inflated to 65 PSI, the electronics in the engine bay were left uncovered and loose parts in the engine bay. This caused a short in the car electronics and every warning light came on after a car wash. Had a decent experience buying my new Tucson but since then my experience with Service has ruined it. The latest annoyance is that I left a message with service (too busy to answer?) on Thursday, December 20 asking for an oil change ASAP. I made it clear that I purchased the car there. It's 12/31 now and zero call back. Frustrating. And for someone that just bought a car there. In general it is very hard to get service there - they are open 7-3 M-F and for those of us that work 8-5 jobs, it's impossible. Wish I would have read Yelp Reviews before purchasing. Salesman was nice but used car sales manager was rude. My salesperson seemed to be tethered by a rope to the sales manager. He was unable to make a simple decision without approval. Anyway, bought the car (used), got the keys and the car remote wouldn't start the car. All mechanics were gone for the day. Since we bought it "as is" we were on our own. Went to use the windshield wipers and spray, the wiper blades were worn out. I'm convinced that other than the Wisconsin Buyer's Guide on the window (required by law), they do nothing else for inspection(s). It was at this point it was evident no inspection of anything other than safety is checked. You would just assume a dealership would test every function to make sure everything works as it should before putting it out on the lot. I guess thats asking too much for Boucher. If you really want to buy a used car from this dealership, check every function of the vehicle before making an offer. I will never buy anything from the Boucher Group again and I'll make it a point to discourage others to stay away. read more

There's always a lot of pressure that comes with buying a new car so definitely do some of your own research. I dealt with Kevin Hart directly when test driving my "now" new car. Wow. I'm sorry to say that I would definitely not go back here. The sales managers clearly don't have the attention to detail that I believe is needed when purchasing a vehicle and I didn't appreciate the way they spoke to me. Originally, I looked at a Tuscan. Our sales person was AMAZING. Very friendly, and honest - I won't disclose why. I also appreciated that he was unassuming. I looked at different models in my price range and I ended up being presented with a Tuscan Limited that had 2k on it (demo). I didn't need the Limited, but it's what they showed me and had me test drive. I explained my boundaries were for price and that I really enjoyed the vehicle if they could work with me. After this, I met the sales manager. Oh dear, the sales manager. When he sat down his vibe made me uncomfortable. He was too "confident" and I don't like that. The way he spoke to me was almost as if I should have known the answers to the questions. For example, when I asked, "What will I owe at the end of the lease?" he said, "Nothing. You'll turn the keys in just like any other lease." but that isn't necessarily true. There are charges that I may be subjected to depending on the condition of the car. What are those charges? I know it's not "nothing." Anyways, this sales manager made a GROSS mistake. He gave me the price I needed and I left to wait to close the deal with my significant other. On our way back to the dealership to pick up the car, he tells me that they forgot to factor in the payoff on my current vehicle. What? It would actually be $100/mo. more to have the Limited, BUT he could certainly get me in a base model for the original price. Bait & switch. Fast forward two weeks and I receive an email that there's another option, they can have a used car manager from another Boucher dealer look at my car and possibly give me more. Interesting the offer didn't surface before... I really believe that at the end of October they began to get 2014 models, which meant that the vehicle I wanted was officially a year old. My question to them would be, is the amount that you lost on the depreciation at the end of October less than the amount that you would have "lost" had you given me the deal you messed up? read more

My husband and I have gone here to look at cars because we were possibly interested in purchasing a Hyundai. But the service we got (or lack there of) was obnoxious... We went yesterday with a friend and we were wandering around the floor and no one greeted us or asked if we needed any help. We probably stood around for 10 minutes with no one asking us about anything and there were several people just appearing to be sitting around DOING NOTHING! My husband did ask one guy to help us and he told us he was going to put away a car key and come back.....but he never came back. He just walked past my husband and walked out the front door. I looked around and thought to myself, "what just happened?" I figured that if there are people that are possibly interested in buying a car, someone would help us. If I could turn back time.....or if I were Cher and could have simply sent my 'people' to deal with the many many issues I experienced with Boucher. Lucky for Boucher, they got me directly. It all started with the purchase of a used vehicle. Yes, buying 'used' can be iffy. I do realize that, but come to find out that they didn't actually do their "used care safety inspection" as they said. Apparently this vehicle came in and was so 'hot' that some things were missed. So so so many issues. Boucher sort of tried to make things right, but then also tried to charge me for things that should have been working to begin with....like, um, heat. They did this little negotiation, "so we fixed 'x' for you for free, but would need you to pay for 'y'" Wait a minute! I didn't even ask you to fix 'x'. I just need 'y' fixed! For my own piece of mind, I've had numerous independent mechanics inspect the vehicle (after the fact and at my own cost), just to see if they are flagging the same issues. Sure enough - radiator, power steering, and other costly repairs were the theme. But Boucher assured me there was nothing wrong. The manager, Luke, even said they brought in their 'extra special' mechanics to take a look. He also explained that a little leaking fluid is to be expected. Really? He also suggested I wouldn't be able to interpret their very complicated "used care safety inspection paperwork" of what they went through to get this vehicle ready for sale. I did end up with the service papers in the end as I had requested. Fortunately for me, I was smart enough to get what they did to the vehicle with my crazy high tech skills called 'reading'. In the end, lesson learned on my part. Whether it is this place or another, have an independent mechanic that you trust look the vehicle over before signing on the dotted line, but also buy from a dealership that will back up the vehicles they sell. I bought from Boucher because I now realize I made a wrong assumption about their reputation. Glad they set me straight. Funny how this was such a 'hot' car when I was looking, but they had no interest in taking it back. read more
