I had two experiences in the last three months, and they were both fantastic! I wish I knew the name of the kind lady that's squeezed me in for an emissions test after having some work done on my car. I also had smooth transitions while coordinating dropping off my car before they opened and picking it up after they were closed. I would recommend them and use them again myself. I felt that communication was very poor. The lady that I spoke with on the phone seemed annoyed with my questions. My car did require a lot of work, but I was never given a timeline of when it might be done, no matter how many questions I asked. It ended up being 6 weeks being without a car. If you're less experienced with cars, I would look elsewhere. The work they did on the car was good. I think my experience could have been much different had the communication been much better. read more

If you like honesty and to save money, DON'T use Lake Country Auto Care in Pewaukee. Took my vehicle there for emissions and it failed 'Twice', it was vacuum hoses. On the third time, it passed. Two weeks later I dropped off my vehicle for a quote to replace my gas tank skid plate, in which I supplied the part. They called me back with 2 hours left in their day with my quote with a $500 window. I said if he could do it for around the lesser amount to go ahead and do it, they agreed. We also agreed that if the 'Check Engine Light" returns they would take care on it. The owner said 'No questions asked, if it returns, bring it back, we'll take care of it. So, at 10:30am the next day they called telling me my vehicle was done; I was quite amazed on how quick they got it done, and a little worried about the workmanship. If anyone knows cars it takes a little bit for the "Check Engine Light" to return if it's going to. Well, 2 Days ago the "Check Engine Light" returned so II dropped it off today for them to take care of. They then called me back after lunch telling me they could take care of it for $150, I reminded the owner about our conversation, and he claimed that wasn't the fact. Well, they DIDN'T fix my vehicle from what THEY did, and I picked up my vehicle. I'm taking it to get Inspected as soon as I can. DO NOT GO TO LAKE COUNTRY AUTO CARE IN PEWAUKEE. read more

The hours posted online said they were open 7-4 Mon-Fri (photo posted). I left my car there on Friday morning (6/9/23) and got a call a few hours later on my way to work that my car was ready. I asked if I could have my mom and sister pick it up, and they said it was okay (they knew someone was coming for it). They arrived several minutes before 3:00pm and found the doors locked. At 2:59pm, my mom called (photo posted), trying to get ahold of anyone inside and no one answered. I had to go without my car all weekend (I work weekends) and they had to waste time and gas driving out there and back for nothing. On Monday, they admitted the closing time posted online was incorrect and had been for years but wouldn't take anything off the price for compensation, even though it was clearly their fault. I was told they were open right up to 3:00pm, even though my mom and sister arrived before 3:00 and the place was empty. Bad customer service, incorrect information posted for years, lack of responsibility, and presumably closing early when you know someone's coming to pick up a car and lying about it. My daughters Honda civic broke down at a gas station in Pewaukee. She is alone and very upset. I looked online for a repair shop and called Lake Country. They said the could do repair so I called Webers Towing to get the car and take there. I am unfamiliar with the area. I trust people. Webers quoted me for towing estimate and charges ten bucks less Awesome service. Lake Country called me next day promptly and said yes your correct it needs a starter. OK fine do it quoted me 747.00 with tax etc. Called after noon done in short time . Very good again. I did not question itemized charges. So I paid via credit for my daughter. They left itemized recipe in car. I look at receipt and see they charged me 457.00 just for a remanufactured starter. Im like gotta be a mistake so i called and asked them. My answer we charge list price for parts we make money on them too. OH I would think labor would be good like every where i ever felt with. I said I looked at Pewaukee parts stores and most expensive price I found even for a new starter was 309.00 and this one is rebuilt. So there it is i got took. Hung up phone nothing i can do. Then looking over reciept they billed me 115.00 for towing that I was already billed for bye Webers. I call back owner says we work with Webers. I said But called for the tow and paid for it already you had nothing to do with it. He told me call Webers they billed me. So I called Webers they were very kind. Told them who I was. He said yep white Honda civic at the Gulf Station towed too Country auto for you. I said I saw on credit statement you billed me for tow but did you bill Country Auto too/ He said absolutely not! I said well they say you did? He said worry not i will call them. Webers called and later Lake Country called and refunded the double tow charge. Beware of this shop. If Money is no object they are fast and courteous, until you question there inflated charges. Not a honest shop in my opinion! read more

My engine light was on and after taking it to Boucher where I purchased the car was told it was a 0 2 sensor. I wanted a second opinion and took it to Lake Country Auto Care. They ran a scan and it said I needed a new catalytic convertor. They said it should be covered under warranty because of the low mileage and to take it back to Boucher. They did not charge me anything. I took it back to Boucher with the paperwork of the findings and they did replace my catalytic convertor which would have cost me $900. Thank you Lake Country Auto Care for your help and honesty. I wouldn't have had a leg to stand on without your help! They really stand by their work and I highly recommend Lake Country Auto. About one month ago, I used Lake Country Auto Care for the first time. My car would not start when I came out of work. I had the car towed to Lake Country and was told later in the day that it the fuel pump on my Sonata was bad. They replaced the pump. About a week later, my check engine light came on. I called back and told them that the error code indicated a vapor leak. I was told other issues could cause this error code, but I could bring it back in and if there was an issue, they would make it right. As this was my first time using Lake County, I got a second opinion from the dealer I usually used. I was told there was leak around the fuel pump, most likely the o-ring. The dealer also charged me for the diagnosis. I called Lake Country back and told them what the dealer had found. They asked me to bring the car back in. I brought it back in and gave them a copy of the paperwork from my dealer. They did the test and found the leak which they repaired that same day. When I came to pick my car that afternoon I talked with one of the owners and discussed my experience. I was really pleased that she not only listened to me, but also refunded the charge I had paid when I got a second opinion. I have since recommended Lake Country to my co-workers and will not hesitate to bring my car back to Lake Country Auto when it needs work. read more
