The ambiance of the restaurant is beautiful. The service was slow. Luckily a manager saw us waiting and told us the specials and took our drink/food order. Our waiter disappeared and didn't return until after a long time. We both order steak, which came out luke warm at best, but we were starving and didn't want to wait another 30 mins to get the order fixed. They took the mushrooms off the bill, which we didn't ask for them to do, so I that was nice I guess. Overall, I probably wouldn't go back. There are other restaurants in the Gables with high quality food and service at the same price point that I'd rather go to. read more

We're familiar w Thomas Keller restaurants (Per Se and TFL) but this was our first Bouchon experience. Short version, I liked it, would go back. Here's the slightly longer version... - lovely design, gorgeous bar, mostly comfortable but the tiny bistro tables can be hard to fit wine, mussel bowls, etc on (yeah I get it, it's a bistro after all) - it is a little loud but not impossible to hear - nice wine list, cocktail menu, somm was great - no upsell and perfect recommendations - food was good, we had the foie terrine (out of escargot that night), mussels and steak au poive. Mussels were great but I kinda have a peeve that restaurants should only serve the opened ones - not just bc what if your diner doesn't know to stay away from them, but also how do you know that x% of them shouldn't be eaten? How do you know its an adequate serving? - steak was proper cookery - not common in FL as sometimes you have to order rare to get medium rare, not the case here, which is great. The potatoes w the steak were amazing, like the 50/50 butter/potato ratio that are soooo good - profiteroles were good, not great...the presentation was beautiful, perfect round orbs of ice cream, but 2 minor things...the pastry itself seemed overcooked or dried out on top. The serve was a little over the top in her presentation of pouring the chocolate over them...I mean, it's chocolate sauce on profiteroles, you're not pulling a sword from a stone - again the staff were really great, esp our server as the kitchen for some reason was wayyyyy behind - no food coming out of that kitchen for a long time (our dinner was over 2 hours long on a not-full Monday night). He touched our table many times to keep things feeling like we were making progress...setting tableware, pouring wine, bringing accoutrements for dinner, everything to minimize that gap on food coming from the kitchen Things happen, i get it, so the pacing of the meal didn't bother me much. It's expensive, but you'd except that for the Gables and for Keller quality Were it not a Keller restaurant, I'd probably be a little harsher on the pacing and the cost for what you get ($90 for steak au poive, $40+ for the mussels & easily 15% of them were closed) but I'd go back based on vibe and service. read more

Michelin? No way. In part did enjoy some things like the Foie Gras Saute that was wonderful. The main courses Truite Amandine and the special Salmon Poele were also very good. However, the special soupe de jour that evening, a gazpacho type, was quite bad. Pass on the escargots unless you like almost 3/4 inch of pastry on top, and not very tasty pastry. The bread rolls, rather hard. In part am ok that they basically just place rolls on the table itself with no plate, but would say this is out of place here. This is not a "bistro" regardless of the name. Worse, all the courses were brought simultaneously, literally minutes after the appetizers were brought. Inexcusable. Michelin stars not what they used to be, seems they are all over now because the State and Oralndo and Miami Counties paying Michelin to come. No matter, Bouchon needs to improve more considering. BTW, place can be uncomfortable too with those bulky table pedestals interfering and don't sit at booth chair either. read more

This is certainly one of my favorite 2023 restaurant additions to Miami. I grew up with French food, this spot did not disappoint. The mussels were delicious- the white wine and cream sauce was divine, the steak frites was cooked perfectly, and the fries were the perfect level of hot and crispy on the outside and warm and slightly soft on the inside, all cut in that beautiful skinny shape. But what was the star of the show? The butter. The service was attentive and kind, and the ambiance was on point, down to the antique-style glass behind the bottles of liquor at the bar- will be going back when I want good French food. read more

We just found Bouchon Bistro today and it's officially our favorite restaurant in Coral Gables. We started with the escargot. It was delicious and the puff pastry just melted in your mouth. Then we had the Foie gras was so creamy and delicious. Their homemade bread was fantastic. Then we had the chicken with whipped potato's which was amazing! OMG! Steak and frites is miniscule, they should say the ounces in the menu. The service was awful, when I say awful!!! Kept calling the waiter for waiter, for everything. Please put the AC, we are in Florida not Europe. After I saw people fanning themselves with the menu, I realized it was not me being hot, the temperature was uncomfortable, even our waiter agreed. I was embarrassed with the couples we went with, it was totally different when the restaurant opened. Better service and steak and frites was much bigger, was a New York strip. Do not recommend. Fabulous dinner. Had escargot for appetizer and it was excellent. Little tiny pastries on top of each one. Had the salmon special and it was probably the best prepared salmon I have ever had. Perfectly cooked. Husband had Steak Frites; meat was excellent and French fries were really good as well. No room for dessert but I am sure it would have been great as well. Service was very good. We are from out of town and could not believe they had only been open for 9 days! Staff did a great job! Highly recommend!!! read more

Beautiful space, and pleasantly accommodating to changes in our reservation for a relatively large party. Quite noisy. The pricing is high reflecting the Keller reputation, but undeserved without that reputation; that is, the food is decadently rich (lots of butter, no surprise), but not especially imaginative. I would have been happier with a lot less butter, and pricing more consistent with that of a corner bistro in Paris. Dessert (tarte au citron) was our favorite part of the meal. But, if this is your idea of a special date night, or a dinner to impress a client ... go for it. We're not likely to return soon unless some special occasion were to justify taking another shot; or maybe just a seat at the bar for a small taste. read more

Aesthetically, this is the perfect dimly-lit romantic setting to bring your loved one(s). The service is impecable. In our case, we had a smaller table for two and there was always someone coming by and assuring that the limited space was tidy and functional throughout our entire meal. Now for the meal...We started with the complementary bread service, perfectly crispy on the outside and fresh on the inside, I had to be stopped. The accompanying pistachios were a nice touch. This was followed with the french onion soup, with smooth flavors and that beautiful cheesy crust. The escargot was one of my standouts, that flaky puff pastry crust is something I still dream about. The mussels were wonderfully sauced, the dijon flavor really coming through. The steak frites was a bit disappointing, the dish cooled quickly and there's was perhaps something left to be desired. The cauliflower gratine was the hidden gem, with its rich cheesy flavors. The meal was topped off with the profiteroles, which has both elements of hot and cold, satisfying those with a sweet tooth after a savory meal. All in all, would definitely return, perhaps to its gorgeous bar seating for another cocktail and a round of that escargot! read more

This particular Bouchon bistro doesn't offer the same French bistro staples as the Yountville location. Not sure why "orejas" are on the menu (?). We went 3 times for diner and I haven't seen the millefeuille advertised on Instagram either. The restaurant has a noisy atmosphere, and the music is too loud for such establishment. Full on review because these yelp reviews were all over the place: Ambiance - the restaurant is super cute inside. Lighting is perfect and the decor details are lovely. However, the yelp reviews here hold true that it is so loud in here that you cannot hear anything. Very disappointing with this because I could not hear what the sever was saying while he explained the specials nor could I make out much of what the sommelier was saying either. Service - service was attentive but again, couldn't hear so that was an obstacle Food - squash soup special was delicious!! Beef tartare was a teeny tiny portion and was truly bland. The charcuterie was a basic charcuterie... I've made better boards myself. Steak and frites were perfectly cooked and delicious. Poulet roti was delicious as was the gnocchi dish. Went for the first time with another couple. I had the salmon that was supposed to have a sauce on top. It came without it. My brother ordered the lamb nd 10 minutes later the waiter comes back to inform us that it was no longer available. The wine prices are outrageous. Three to four times the price that you can buy it for. I saw very few tables with a bottle of wine and corkage is $100. Never seen this price. The food was okay but nothing extraordinary. We will not be going back. Our bill was 500$ for 4 ppl with three cocktails and one glass of wine three appetizers one dessert and four main dishes. Place is beautiful. Not Good, actually pretty bad. Service was inconsistent, but it did seem like they were trying. Bread is all crust, not very appetizing. Escargot pastry was greasy and stale, really took away from the dish. We had a second appetizer, but now a week later I can't even remember what it was. Gnocchi was bland and over cooked. Steak Frites was horribly over sous vide, mushy texture with a gamey off-putting flavor, simply awful meat. The Frites were great. I wanted to love this Keller restaurant, but I just can't believe it was this bad. We didn't want to complain, but our server noticed that we ate less than half of our food. Nope. Extremely overpriced and underwhelming. While I have had great experiences at Thomas Keller restaurants in California and Las Vegas, the Coral Gables location leaves much to be desired. The outdoor grotto has a nice ambience, however the seating becomes uncomfortable after a few minutes. The inside is very loud. Portions are small lacking the quality boasted by the establishment. Not terrible but far from exceptional. If you are concerned and truly understand the difference and benefits associated with spring water, you will also be disappointed. I was told they serve a Nordic triple filter version of tap water. Yet somehow the server was able to conjure up a bottle of Aqua Panna after expressing my disappointment. We were rushed to order all appetizers and main courses at once to prevent delay. Begrudgingly, we complied only to wait and extended time for our food. The corkage fee is also excessive. In the end, we left unimpressed and disappointed. A completely different experience than Napa. The menus were challenging in small font and for me personally, providing the wine list on an iPad is both tacky and unsanitary. read more

Food is always amazing however I felt there was a little pettiness with the mgmt. After buying the $95 Dover sole plus other very pricey items, I asked for a cream brulee togo for a sick family member. They would not sell it to me without a $25 upcharge for the ramekin. I understand nothing is free so agreed to pay for it and asked if I could get the $25 back when I returned it the following week...essentially a refund of the deposit on the ramekin. Bouchon does some things superbly, other things just rise to the "good" level. It's a lovely restaurant. Beautiful bar, great décor, and a nice vibe. We found the greeting at the door to be professional and warm. The staff seems very well trained, and our service was pretty much spot-on all evening. The escargot was a disappointment. They are quite small--too small. The kitchen attempts to disguise this by putting some puff pastry on top of each snail, but none of us felt it worked. The onion soup was a winner--cheesy and tasty. The trout, the chicken and the lamb dishes were all good. French fries were a disappointment--the frozen kind. The dessert menu was sparse, so no one ordered anything from it. To sum it up: A nice addition to the Gables. A nice night out. No serious complaint, no "wow" either. All four of us were glad we went, but don't feel the need to rush back anytime soon. read more

We went to Bouchon Bistro to celebrate our anniversary last night and the service and food exceeded my expectations. We started with a lovely bottle of pinot noir rose which they served with a smoked salmon appetizer which was delicious. They also brought a lovely loaf of bread accompanied by butter, mustard and warm pistachios. I had the haricort vert salad and then the roasted chicken and finished up with profiteroles with hot fudge sauce. They also brought us a slice of lemon tart especially for our anniversary. It was such a special night and the service was excellent! My only complaint was that the restaurant was a bit loud but that was a small thing. read more

I'm talking BLAND FOOD in a supposed highest end restaurant in Coral Gables. Mr. Kellar, with all due respect, have someone you trust taste the food in this restaurant and remember that this is a Coral Gables restaurant in America, Not anywhere else where there might be a salt and pepper shortage. We left after five minutes. The music was unbearably loud. When we asked for it to be lowered, the manager arrived and crisply informed us that 'this is how Thomas Keller wants it'. Bouchon Bistro may aspire to be French, but in France, restaurant dining allows one to enjoy the voice and companionship of their partner... here we could barely hear the hostess and manager. It's a shame. The Bouchon in Napa is a 4 but this spot just doesn't make it. Servers were in knowledgeable a lot of "I don't knows" but this is typical for most miami. The bread pre meal is cold and hard. The French onion soup is like warm and very thick broth almost syrup like. Not a lot of onion. Cheese was good. The Mussels broth was flavorless and the mussels were not fresh. But the fries that accompanied were perfect! The broth was just missing. The escargot were very solid /good. They were small and the pastry tops were again not hot or fresh. The steak frites, tough and chewy. The butter was great! And fries again perfect. The winner of the night of all things was the croque madame! With potatoes mash. Was awesome! I would order a croque madame, French fries , with escargot to start. And a nice French red. If you're expecting French Laundry or Per Se based on this being a Keller restaurant you will be sadly disappointed. The location is good, the service is adequate and the food is merely ok. There are much better options in that price range throughout Coral Gables that will provide a much better overall experience. read more

A great experience on a beautiful evening with friends. We sat outside as it was definitely quieter and the weather was great. We were sat immediately upon arrival for our 7pm Saturday night reservation. Our waiter, Arthur, was awesome. The appetizers (deviled eggs) were absolutely delicious, as was the escargot in puff pastry, the wine list was extensive and we found a very nice bottle for under $100, our entrees consisted of a very flavorful and delicious trout (Truite Grenobloise), Steak Frites, and mussels (Moules au Safran)...each was spectacular. To finish our meal we ordered profiteroles to share, and it was the best I've ever had. So, yes, it is pricey ($100+ p/p) but definitely worth it for a special ocassion. read more
