I went in and was told to park in front of the last garage, where a guy would meet me. After waiting several minutes, a guy came out and told me to move my car, so I moved it to a parking spot, if you can call it that, since there was about 30 square feet of puddle. The guy hovered right next to my door as I got out, and then he got in without saying anything. I asked, "How long will it take?" and heard the response, "Five! Thirty-five!" I said, "So, five minutes, or 35 minutes?" And he said, "Five minutes!" So I said, "Okay, I'll be back in a bit then, going to go across the street." What happened next was like a scene out of a bad movie. The guy just kept shouting "35!" at me, like half a dozen times, while I said, "Yeah, I know, it's $35." "35!" "I will pay you when I get back." "35!" "Do you mean you want the money now? I don't have any cash. I have a card. I can just pay you in a few minutes when you're done." "35!" "I have never been asked to pay upfront for a car inspection before, is that what you're asking?" "35!" "I don't have cash on me." Finally, a full sentence. "You said you had a card, just give it to me now." I am not about to give my card to this guy, who looks and acts like he's drunk and clearly isn't carrying a card reader. I'm starting to wonder if he even really works there. So I say, "Look, I have never been asked to pay upfront for a car inspection before. I can pay you when I get back in a few minutes, because it's not like I am going to go anywhere: you do have my car. Or I can just take my business someplace else." Instead of responding, he just gets out of my car and walks away. So I go back in the front and ask if this is how they run their business, and the guy at the desk says, "Well I told you you needed $35." (No, he didn't.) I told him that the other guy had poor communication skills, and explained that I don't care if I have to pay upfront when it is clearly communicated in a way reflective of good customer service, and not just shouted at me repetitively in a way that isn't clear. At this point, the other guy comes out and starts shouting at me again, saying he usually says "35" three times, but this time said it five time, implying that I must be an idiot for not understanding what his neanderthal-like method of single word communication meant. I let them know that they needed to improve their communication skills and customer service and that I would be taking my business someplace else, and I left.

A group of people I know who had no idea where to go for their car repair where they would not have to spend $90 just for the labor for somebody to replace a difficult headlight, Or be pushed to do all kinds of other maintenance on their car that they just can't afford. These guys have owned this garage for quite some time, and keep their business on the down and low. You won't see them advertising or fancy signage out front. I don't need to, these guys are your friendly neighborhood mechanics who are doing this job because they like to work on cars. He will leave feeling like you are being charged a fair amount, and that you had good service done. Nobody I know has gone there has ever had a complaint about going back to have work re-done. Well, there is one person, but fair and square when he went back it was a completely different problem than he started with, on a junk car that he shouldn't of been driving anyways. You know the car I am talking about. There's usually duck tape holding something on somewhere. Anyhow, I have found a home with this mechanic. They may not always be able to get me in on the day I call, but I find that their times are reasonable for a small shop.

I went to this service center for an inspection sticker and regret it. I went in and the service…read morewas fast but I was failed. The tech told me I had a broken control arm and one of my tail lights was not red. Ok not a biggie, went to my dealership and had it fixed and given a once over for other things as it is a 10yr old car. I had a broken tie rod not control arm and the tail light was red just not as deep a red as the other side. I changed the bulb and went back to get reinspected. I was failed again. 'The front end is still loose' is what I was told. I told the tech, same one who had inspected it before, that he had said the control arm was broken not the front end was loose. I told him I had been to the dealership who sold me the car and serviced it the whole time I have owned it and had a tie rod replaced, the control arms were fine (I had them looked at three months before and bushings replaced) and the light was red. He said to me "The dealership does not know what they are doing." My boyfriend, unbenounced to me, had issues with them for inspection before. They told him he needed new tires when his were almost brand new. I would not trust these fools to work on or inspect a car headed to the scrap heap. They are looking to take advantage of people getting inspections and needing work or in my case not needing work. It is dispicable and I am registering a complaint with BBB and the MassDOT.

I had my windshield replaced in 2025 here because they are a local business, even though my…read moreinsurance like us to use Safelite. I was told they were a listed with Progressive so they guarantee their work. A few months later a HUGE Crack appeared out of no where while I was driving on a side street. At first I thought it was water or something because it came out of nowhere. The Crack started from the bottom of the windshield where the adhesive and weather striping is and curved almost to the other side. The guy at Affordable Auto Glass looked at it and said "oh yep you were hit" and pointed to nothing. I said as much and he just kept gas lighting me. I know I wasnt hit by anything, but they shuffled me into the shop, fast talking the whole way, and set up a replacement appointment. When I got home I inspected the windshield more throughly and the crack starts from a chip INSIDE the glass where it meets the adhesive. Furthermore there is a similar chip on the other side where the glass meets the adhesive that has not propagated into a Crack (yet). These guys do not stand by their work, and will not be honest about their mistakes. This shop was good many years ago but the current owners do not care about quality or accountability.

There was no sign on the door or at the counter about closing early or stopping inspections. I waited about 15 minutes before being told by the inspector that he wasn't doing any more inspections for the day because he was tired after being there since 8 a.m. He said he told the customer before me that he would be his last inspection -- but another customer wouldn't be responsible for telling me that, and he did not. If there's a cutoff time for inspections, it really needs to be clearly posted so people don't waste their time showing up well before closing and being turned away. Very poor customer service. I do wonder whether the owner or manager is aware of this decision to stop inspections early and the impact it has on customers.
