Lakeside is not the same place it used to be. Hadn't been in awhile because my husband passed away. Called Mon just before noon to make an appt. Was told they were now out of network for the insurances I have. Later in the afternoon they sent a txt (I rec'd it about 630p) that it was going to be $154 for a routine cleaning, etc., which was an exorbitant amt we'd never paid before, especially since these were the same 2 insurances we'd always used. I called Tues a.m. to cancel because I couldn't afford them. This time the girl who answered said they WERE in network. I told her I could not afford $154 since my husband passed away. Then she proceeded to tell me I would be charged a $50 cancellation fee because I didn't give 24 hr cancellation notice. It was completely irrelevant to her that it hadn't even been 24 hr since she gave me the appt & there was NO WAY to give 24 hr notice when there wasn't 24 hr in the 1st place. When I asked to talk with the manager, I was told I could only send her a message because she didn't work in the office. She's "remote." I told the girl I was NOT going to pay a $50 cancellation fee when there was no way in the 1st place to cancel an appt that was made & was already within their 24 hr. time. This is a complete ripoff. So IF someone decides to use this office, don't make an appt the next day, or get sick, or have to go to the hospital, or die or have someone in your family die, because they will try to get your last pound of flesh, not to mention overcharge you or mess up your insurance billing information. I'm extremely disappointed in the way things turned out after being a patient for several years. So now I'm looking for a replacement. read more

I saw Dr. Morales in November as a self-pay patient. After my visit, I asked for a quote and said I would call when I was ready to schedule. That same day, I received the quote, a phone call, and a text. I replied with a question about whether shots were necessary and was told to call. I said I was working and would call later, but received another call the next day. I then asked them to stop contacting me, as I felt pressured. They said they were just following up. Later, I got insurance that Dr. Morales accepts and emailed my information requesting a new quote. After four days with no response, I resent it. By 2/10, I still hadn't heard back, so I stopped by the office. I asked the dentist whether they were just busy or if there was an issue because I had asked them to stop calling. He said, "eh maybe, but I'll look into that," and told me to leave my insurance info. The receptionist mentioned their system had been down and said they'd follow up. I even asked if I should find a new dentist, and he laughed and said no. I'm glad I learned who this dentist is before giving him more money or trusting him with my care. read more

After entrusting my dental care to Dr. Morales for a few years, and experiencing a generally decreasing quality of treatment, my recent experience was the final straw. I will not be going back, and I regret having referred people to this business in the past. This is unfortunate, because I had some good experiences here early on, including with a hygienist who I don't think (?) is still with this practice. Had an appointment for a small tooth chip that Dr. Morales has already repaired previously but had re-broken. I scheduled an appointment for this exact service - discussed in detail over the phone - but when I checked in for the appointment, they wouldn't see me without me paying - both in advance and out of pocket - for additional, unnecessary services. In addition to the scheduled tooth repair they wanted to bill me in cash for X-Rays and an exam. They literally wouldn't let me back to the exam room without paying upfront for these unwanted "services", none of which had been discussed over the phone. The exam and X-Rays were not desired or merited in any way, either for this appointment or in general. My last X-Rays and exam were both 3 months ago, on a treatment plan that the office is aware of and is documented in my records. In fact, the reason these were out of pocket expenses is precisely because the same services had recently been billed to my insurance, and the office staff told me this. If this sounds hard to believe, I agree. The rude, condescending attitude of the staff during this conversation had no place in a healthcare professional's office. Additionally, they were either unable or willing to call me by my correct name, but did end our interaction with (direct quote): "Life is hard, Bruh. You can leave." Bruh? The way this business treats their existing patients goes a long way to explaining why they need to constantly spam the neighborhood with direct mail offers for 'new patient specials'. After leaving the office, I got an appointment with another local dentist, who saw me the same day and happily made the repair in minutes, with no sleazy upsell tactics, even though it was Dr. Morales' work that was being fixed. read more

I am so grateful to have found Dr. Morales and his staff at Lakeside Dental. After having a truly horribly dental experience earlier in the year, I was referred here, and I was nervous to even walk in the door. But once I did, the calm, caring atmosphere was readily apparent, and it really culminated with Dr. Morales. He is kind, patient, thorough, and takes all the time you need as a patient to ask questions and feel calm. You are never left feeling rushed or unimportant. He exudes a gentle demeanor that immediately calmed my nerves, and his staff are always positive. Better yet - they follow up. I am amazed at the level of total patient care here. I have been a patient with Dr. Morales and Lakeside dental for many years, having gone there early in their practice. He is very skilled and has been well equipped to handle my dental issues. He keeps up with the latest innovations. The office is well run by Meredith. I've never had an issue with any of the billing, etc. The office is well maintained. It is always very clean and it always looks like new. More than anything, Dr. Morales and Meredith are kind people who know how to treat their patients. I sincerely do not recommend this office, especially for a simple procedure such as a teeth cleaning. I went in for a teeth cleaning and my teeth were severely injured. I have very healthy teeth. I just have one filling and very healthy gums. When the dental hygienist cleaned my teeth, she created a deep groove with a rotating sanding tool instead of a dental scaler. These grooves were looked at by the Dentist and were completely ignored. After I got home, I inspected my teeth and was infuriated. I have deep grooves in many of my teeth that will undoubtedly but hopefully not cause problems in the future. I called the Dentist and he dismissed this saying that plaque can go inside the teeth. This was not the case. She mysteriously doesn't work there anymore, and they will not offer any recourse to even clean my teeth properly. I called the office to ask for a proper teeth cleaning and discussed this with them, and they took the offensive and offered nothing to rectify their terrible service. I am stuck with damaged teeth and no offer to correctly clean them. I simple feel abused and muffled. read more

I am a retired cardiologist (I was the Physician President of Austin Heart ) until a car accident ended my career. My practice and the Heart Hospital were always trying to improve quality and the patient experience. I called Dr Morales urgently as a new patient with a broken tooth. (My prior dentist is in Harker Heights near one of my prior practice locations as I could pop over and not miss work) The office staff are very nice, professional and competent. The office is exceptionally clean. The staff seem happy. These are all subtle signs that the doc is good as bad docs often run good staff off. Dr Morales is high tech in terms of medical records. Can fill out your info on line including credit card and Insurance info. Your medical record and medical history review is thorough and appropriate. The office send emails and texts with links to your calendar for saving the dates. I have had Dr Morales fix a broken tooth and create a temp crown. It required extensive numbing, and work to create the new crown. My accident resulted in the loss of several teeth and I have had 4 crowns prior by two different dentists (one in Ca while traveling) and by far this was the best office re staff and best clinical experience My last temporary crown was literally pulled out of a plastic box (like one for old screws and nails) and then shaped to fit my molar for a few weeks. This current one by Dr Morales was a very thin custom molded temporary he made on the spot. I came back for complete X-rays and cleaning and again had a great experience. I had popped off the temp crown (every one has done that) and he recemented with no fuss As a patient and a physician I am sensitive to a doctors communication skills. I am often treated differently with a level of familiarity that is great but with the resultant lack of detail in discussion of my problem. I may not be communicating this well but the best providers have both recognized my medical background but nevertheless explained my clinical problem to me with the same detail they otherwise would to another non physician patient. I have suggested my entire local family (adult kids and grandkids) see him as they were looking for a local dentist. The office is tucked away behind the Wells Fargo and Wall Mart on the corner of 620/2222. I hope he does not move as he is a great provider and patient demand might overwhelm the space. read more

I cannot say enough amazing things about Lakeside Dental. To start with, the staff is incredible! Dr Morales really is an expert in his field. He really knows his stuff. Meredith and Courtney are also apart of staff and always greet me with such a warm welcome. They help run the practice with such ease. I always get emails and text reminders about my appointment. Meredith has always been especially responsive to any emails or questions I have asked about appointments or insurance. The staff here really feels like family. My entire life I have gone to my Aunt for my dentistry, so when I moved away from home- to come to what feels like a family away from family is really reassuring. I originally came to the Lakeside Dental because my built in retainer had broken and my teeth had shifted. The problem was enough to warrant getting braces for a second time. Dr. Morales and I were able to discuss in detail the options I had and were able to move forward with Invisalign. I wore Invisalign for 10 weeks and it correct the shifting. Dr Morales then fitted me for built in retainers for my upper and lower teeth. Since my braces, I have gone back for several cleanings, which seem to be extremely thorough- the best I have had- as well as a correction for a broken retainer which they were able to fit me in the very next day after I called. I cannot say enough good things about this dental practice. I see them regularly and am pleased...but when I had an emergency, they were amazing! I broke a crown on my front tooth on a Sunday. I called and left a message and immediately received a return call and went in the next day. They took care of me immediately! I was very picky through the process and it was okay with them! They would call to check on me and helped me every step of they way. They tolerated me with kindness, sent me to a color specialist, and made sure I was 100% satisfied . This included adjusting my night guard three times!!!! In addition, at another time when I was a new patient, they were aware my husband was having surgery and sent me a signed card! Went today for my first appointment and I was thoroughly impressed. First off I just moved here and have been dragging my feet to look for all new doctors. But I finally did today and when I called they said there was a cancellation today! So I got an appointment an hour later! I was prepared to have to wait months so that was great! When I arrived at the office I was pleasantly surprised at how clean and new it was in there. The staff at the front desk were very nice and friendly. My hygienist Kayla was really gentle and sweet. I continue to receive unsolicited advertisements from Lakeside Dental on a weekly basis, without fail. I finally decided to submit an inquiry via their business website, requesting some additional information on appointment scheduling and discount dental plan insurance coverage. Their website states a response can be expected within 24 hours. I waited one week without a response, and received another one of their advertisements in the mail, thus reminding me that no response had ever been received to my initial inquiry. I went to their website again, requested that they read my prior email, and at least provide the courtesy of a response -- advising that my inquiry had been received -- and that a response would follow, should they still not have the time for a response after one week. Several more days passed with still no communication from this office. I could certainly understand their lack of any communication if they simply don't need the new business, and therefore pick and choose whether or not they will respond to an online inquiry (albeit highly unprofessional). However, it is their office that continues to send me weekly unsolicited advertisements requesting the new business, which based on their lack of any response to my inquiries, is clearly not a priority and a waste of postage. I'll thus be passing on this office as a potential provider, and move on to one of the other myriad of quality dentists that value their potential new patients. read more

Unprofessional to say the least, they never went over what my post op regulations were before my procedure so I wasn't supplied before my procedure with the proper dietary needs as well as them not letting a smoker know before a procedure that there would be a 3 day tolerance break... you think you would let somebody who is addicted to something know before I procedure to plan accordingly? Nope you guys just wanted the money from me rather than looking at what's the best option for me and it's hilarious to because in the questionaire before hand they ask if you're a smoker so you guys knew already... and almost forgot when the post op rules require somebody to not spit or cough you should probably ask them if they have cedar fever or anything to make sure a possibility of a dry socket isn't as likely.... but anyways if I end up with one I'm damn sure not giving y'all my money to fix it instead y'all may just get my next bill instead. What a joke of a place.... Very sad you think you could trust a dentist you've been seeing for years just for them to end up trying to get every $ out of you and not look out for their own patients health . read more
