My girlfriend and I were in Boulder to get her car fixed. We asked the guys at the shop where they recommended for lunch and they said Boulder Social. I was not that thrilled, given the overall Ratings and Reviews, but we went anyway...and was super glad we did. The place has a good vibe, great food and a friendly staff who were super accomodating. We were seated immediately and the waitress took our order promptly. We asked to split the pulled pork sandwich and I had an Arnold Palmer. The sandwich came out pre-split, on two plates, with full homemade chips on each plate. Might have been the tastiest pulled pork sandwich I've ever had...juicy and the combo of the fixin's and BBQ sauce were amazing. As we wrapped up the check, the waitress asked if I wanted a refill...I said yes, girlfriend said no. Upon returning after cashing us out, the waitress brought me another Arnold Palmer in a to-go cup and said, "Here's a refill for the road" with a huge smile! One of my go to places regardless of day or time. Everything on the menu is prepared well, service is excellent, they have Guinness on tap and the prices are reasonable (by Boulder standards). They have quiet corners as well as lively areas. Sometimes they have a live band. read more

Easy 5 stars. 2nd time for us and one of the best meals we've had in Boulder. Beats anything on Pearl. Greeted with a smile and genuinely appreciated our business. Wish I had gotten our servers name, he was great. Read the table, we were chatting and catching up with friends who we haven't seen in awhile and acknowledged that we were busy catching up. As a long time resident of Boulder, I have eaten in this building numerous times, the first being Frank Day's original Jose Muldoons and the most recent being Frank Day's Boulder Social. In the middle we ate frequently at Fate which was a restaurant/brewery that we really loved. There was one post Fate and pre Social which we missed in its short operation. We are very much for the food as well as drink. Tonight, my husband was very happy. The drink was a beer he generally loves and they did it well, the Irish red ale. He had the New England clam chowder and does agree with a Yelp reviewer who also hails from the NorthEast, that this was a very good rendition for Colorado. I perhaps could have chosen better. Boulder does have a few places that do salmon as well as any coast and tonight salmon burger was ok but underwhelming. So were the fries. Nothing specifically wrong with either, the salmon perhaps a little "fishy" and fries a bit pale for my tastes. But still a decent meal. I have to say, the star of the visit was the staff! We were seated promptly though they were quite busy. We were given a good location which sometimes does not happen for our age group in some "over" trendy restaurants in Boulder. Not hidden in some back corner near an exit, to anything. Out server was terrific. Brittney, was cheerful, informative, and efficient and perky. No one could ask for more. We definitely will be back, especially with some summer guests we are expecting whose choices range from meaty, to greens, to simple or classic. And involves 2 teenagers. The space can handle large groups, both inside and out. We know this from previous experience with this location. Parking is very manageable even on crowded day. For Boulder, that is unusual, especially since it is free. We have been patrons of nearly every Frank Day venture in Boulder over the years especially the Walnut Brewery, from its very first year. A large group of us got together to celebrate our volunteer efforts for Kennedy. The waitstaff and managers let their politics get in the way of service and the possibility of making good profits. Had to sit on the freezing cold patio, required the party of 40 to only have 4 checks, and not one smile was evident. Actually quite the opposite. I attended a business lunch here a few weeks ago. A colleague and I ordered the Nashville HOT Chicken Sandwich and neither of us could eat it. My guess is that they baked the chicken early, then microwaved it before serving, making it extremely tough; we even tried "sawing" it with a knife to no avail. My mac-n-cheese side was pretty good. Also, since it took 25 minutes for our food to arrive - not good when you only have so much time for lunch, we didn't bother to send the food back. read more

I'm genuinely surprised at the reviews for this place. I've been here weekly for a while now with a group of people, and I've tried a number of appetizers, entrees, drinks, and desserts. I think everything I've had has been pretty darned good, definitely elevated from the typical "we're a brewery, but sure, here's some hot wings"-type fare you normally expect. I'm not a vegetarian, but I keep ordering their crispy Brussels sprouts and their vegan bowl--both are delicious. The service has been stellar. Every one of the employees has made an effort to learn our names and what drinks we often have, and they've been unfailingly kind and helpful. 1ST TIME-LAST TIME-Have passed this place 1 million times, but the name was deceiving. I thought it was some kind of a dance club or something.! We placed our order with Alilie and the rest is history. Two of us ordered cups of clam chowder for starters... They arrived at room temperature-Allie apologized and said she would bring out hot soup. Before the soup could arrive the entrées were delivered by the kitchen... We told the kitchen staff we were refusing since we are waitingfor our soup... What was funny is he said we could not refuse our dinner-sadly, I had to tell him he had no choice. Then the 2nd cups of soup arrived, delivered by the kitchen... Also, at room temperature the furthest thing from hot. Our server was nowhere around and we were hungry so two of consumed cold soup. I ordered the prime rib sandwich... Nothing to write home about... fries cold-then I realized it was probably the entrée that we refused before the soup arrived and it was just sitting around somewhere in the kitchen before they brought it out for a second time! The birthday boy and his wife seem to be pleased with what they ordered. Allie apologized numerous times... I explain to her. It was not her fault. She comped the soup and dessert. Drink options were plentiful and tasty. We had the pretzel (overpriced but really good), cheese curds (yum), the hangover burger (really good), loaded chicken tenders (yum), chicken & waffle (chicken was good, waffle was ok), and the fish & chips (great). My wife and I were talking and realized this was the 4th different restaurant in this location that we'd visited. We had pretty high hopes, largely because we've had great meals at the Stout Street (Denver) location. We unfortunately were disappointed. The menu was overall underwhelming, with a more casual bent than the Stout location. Much more similar to the prior two restaurants, incidentally. Our salmon and steak dinners both came out over-cooked, though the steak way more so. We kept the salmon, but the whole dish was really sour, like someone had gone overboard with vinegar. Everything on the plate was sour and each ingredient/veggie tasted basically the same. My steak went back quickly (the waiter didn't hesitate) with a promise to redo it, but later the manager came out to apologize that they were out of the steak but that they'd comp our entrees for the trouble. I ended up then getting the pastrami sandwich special and that was pretty tasty. It was $21 so while it was good I don't think it was worth the money. It certainly wasn't NY deli big or anything, but a fair-sized serving. Speaking of, when it came time for the bill, we got half off of our entrees, we didn't get them comped. They "comped" the steak I guess, because it was on the bill showing it had been reversed. Not quite what the manager told us but we didn't feel like bringing it up (maybe we misunderstood?). Ultimately we hope they get things figured out, get a more interesting menu, etc., because we're afraid 4th time (or more going back before our time) is not the charm. read more

It's a Saturday and wanted to eat, drink and watch sports on the TV...the restaurant was approx 75% full of customers eating and drinking but we were told we could not come in b/c "computers were down" although everyone was eating and drinking. Ok....we asked if we could watch the TV's to catch last part of football game" (they claim to be SPORTS BAR) and we were told "No you cannot watch our TV EITHER"..... WOW - unbelievable rudeness. The ole social. Great spot, I am truly wondering why this place isn't packed more. With a fantastic selection from seafoods to pizzas, there is always something you'll find here. They mimosas could be a tad stronger but I remember making my first one. They have an incredible selection of beers, as well as an enticing happy hour deal. unfortunately i would not recommend this restaurant. the menu was extremely incohesive and the food was not good. my roommate and i both got sick after eating here and felt like garbage for 24 hours. the staff was friendly, we were a big party of 10 and the food came out quickly. if you're looking for somewhere to grab a beer and watch a game, that is the extent of what i would do at this restaurant. read more

My son and I stopped here on the way out of town after a visit to Denver. Shared a giant pretzel and then each had an individual pizza. Both were very good and if we lived in the area, we could see going back. Neat sports bar atmosphere but a little hard to find as it is tucked away in with some office type buildings. read more

Waiter did not mention it was happy hour, nor give us a happy hour menu. After we ordered, we noticed a little sign about it, flagged our waiter down, and asked. He kindly put our orders on hold for us to reconsider. Beers were overpriced for small pours in a flight. Tuna tower was way overpriced for what is mostly cheap food (tons of rice, tons of chips, small amount of tuna and tiiiny amount of avocado and nori). Not much flavor complexity, just tuna and spiciness. My partner's tuna bowl looked way better; I should've gotten that. Both the waiter and a bus boy tried to take away our plate of oysters before we were finished with them.. pretty weird! Oysters were pretty bland, not worth $2ea. read more

GREAT NEW BOULDER RESTAURANT... Grand Opening the other night was fantastic! Great food - Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich (to die for) and oysters were so good. Nice signature cocktails were delicious and they had a band outside that was super awesome. It's crazy they've been only open for like 3-4 weeks, and already they are a hit in the neighborhood. They've been packed every time I've been in. The staff is also fantastic, so friendly, helpful and easy going. This place is going to Become a fan favorite. It's great on Sundays for football- something like 10-12 TV's. Check it out. read more
