We went to Fortezza for Easter brunch and had a lovely time. The menu was exquisite and thoughtfully put together. I started with the burrata appetizer, which had beautiful flavors with the beets and citrus. It was absolutely delicious. For my main dish, I had the risotto, which was rich and perfectly cooked, topped with a poached egg that made it even more indulgent. Dessert was incredible. The lime tart cake was fresh, flavorful, and the perfect way to end the meal. The overall vibe was warm and inviting, making it a really enjoyable brunch experience. Came here with a party of eight for a work trip and was absolutely blown away with how amazing all the food was. Some of best and most unique Italian food I've had was from here. You can tell everything was freshly made, and had an abundance of thought that went into making each bite. The chefs greatly care for their craft. This was fine dining. There was so much detail put into every aspect of our meal. From the table that we sat at, to the cutlery we used, to the plates the food was on, to the wine that was paired with our steaks versus our pork chops.. I was blown away by it all. The waiter was extremely attentive and well informed on his menu he gave excellent recommendations. If I had to pick 2 stand out items we tried, the steak with olive oil drizzled on top and the large ravioli were incredible. I hope to be back if I'm ever in the area again. read more

The restaurant looked expensive and we had excellent service. Our food however, was not up to par. We did not love a single dish we ate. Everything was slightly off. I think this restaurant needs to lower prices or find a way to tweak the whole menu. The wine is expensive as well. There was a group of ladies next to us complaining about the same thing. The owners seem very sweet and I hope they find a way to make the restaurant more palatable. read more

We have dined in twice, and both times were incredible. The chef excels at both creative dishes, but also great execution of classics. Dishes that were particularly standout were the Cacio e Pepe, Tagliatelle d'Anatra, and the Duck Breast with black truffle and cherry jus. Our server Matt was also great. He walked us through the menu, and made us feel like VIPs throughout. The owners both also stopped by the table several times to make sure everything was perfect. They were kind, attentive, and clearly cared deeply about what they were doing. More owners should be like them. The ambiance was also terrific. My wife and I went to Fortezza for my birthday and it was amazing. We had the full tomahawk experience and it was perfection. So good my wide literally ate the meat off the bone. Wonderful dining experience! The restaurant is decorated beautifully and is relaxing and quiet. Our waiter Chad was personable and a very attentive the shrimp and Branzino fish dishes were prepared perfectly. Even the carrot side dish was great. We're ate here last night to celebrate our son and future DIL's engagement. Fortezza went above an beyond to make it special. The service was on point, there is an extensive wine list and the food was delicious. The only hiccup was the lemon tart for dessert. While the crusty was tasty, it was really hard to cut into. The filling was very yummy though. The total bill was very affordable for such an outstanding and delicious experience. Will definitely be returning. read more

Fortezza is a new restaurant in quant Niwot. It over packs its punch. This little restaurant was absolutely amazing. Definitely more of fine dining than your casual Italian food. It is a treat to have. Few places in northern Colorado can compare to the quality of food. I think it is on the level of Frasca and Flagstaff House for premier dining. We ordered from every part of the menu and were blown away how great the food was. The drinks were exceptional from the cocktail menu. We ordered a bottle of wine that will become part of our wine racks at home. Finally refreshing to find a restaurant that was actually worth the price. It may be off putting for some who come to an Italian restaurant wanting spaghetti and pizza. This is Italian fine dining. Unless you go to Italy or farm to table restaurants much of the description of food you won't understand. So trust the process and the chefs. The servers explain the menu and what they recommend for best bites. Just go with it and you will not be disappointed. This is Italian. You do get all of your food right away. It's an experience. Italians take hours for their meals (not every day like Americans generally think) so don't expect to be in and out in less than an hour. Enjoy it. It's expensive. But in the age of restaurant prices skyrocketing, you can easily go to a mediocre restaurant and still spend 150 dollars for subpar food that is not worth it (most of Colorado food). Here, you get presentations and tastes you cannot make on your own or experience often. So you pay for this. It's a treat. read more

We have eaten here twice now, Once from the dinner menu at the bar and once with the happy hour menu sitting outside. Both visits had high levels of service and dishes that were perfectly prepared. We especially enjoyed the focaccia, bison carpaccio, and ragu, as well as the duck entrée. There were a few of the first week hiccups, but only minor. This is fine-dining and expect that they will perfect the formula in the first month or so. We look forward to it. read more

We were in town from Los Angeles for the holidays and had dinner here, based off a recommendation from someone at the front desk of our hotel. Where do I start? The staff were extremely pleasant and attentive, our waiter walked us through the entire menu. He provided excellent detail and answered all our questions. My wife got what I believe was a lamb spaghetti style dish with thick marinara sauce, the dish was great. I got the capensate(sp), my God so many flavors and sensations in every bite. I forget which apps we got but they were also good. We didn't drink so the tab was not a huge hit. I look forward to coming back in the summer when we visit the in laws again. read more

LOVE this little Niwot Gem! Hubby and I are super foodies and I would venture to say steak snobs. The American Wagyu Ribeye is seriously the BEST IN BOULDER COUNTY... and likely further than that. To name a few places we love steaks from but this one tops by a long shot (Steakhouse316, Guard and Grace, Capital Grill, Ocean Prime etc). So grateful for Fortezza to be in our community!
