We just happened upon this place! We actually were going to go eat at another spot, but they didn't have beer. LOL This place ended up being an excellent choice. It's a seat yourself joint. Focusing seating around the focal point, the big bar area. Atmosphere is pleasant, spacious and welcoming! Decent selection of food options. Huge draft, craft beer selection. The staff is friendly & offers just the right amount of attention. You won't wait long to be welcomed, for your food, for a refill or for your receipt at the end of your dining experience. We started with their honey hot wings. Our party of three decided to split one of the numerous salads they offer & went with the steak & walnut salad. It includes grilled steak slices, blue cheese crumbles & crispy onion rings ( made in house) . The dressing was a light vinaigrette that made this a delicious & delightful thing to share amongst us all. For dinner we went with one of their "create your own" pizzas. Our favorite toppings are: pepperoni, garlic & basil. This was a great presentation & pie! From service to staff, to cooks in the kitchen we had a great dining experience! Everything was legit. I stopped in for a mimosa while nursing a wine hangover and grabbed a seat at the bar. There were a couple of other guests at the bar and about five tables scattered with diners throughout the restaurant. Despite this, there was only one person working -- a server who was also acting as the bartender -- trying to handle everything. At one point, a woman came in to pick up a to-go order and stood waiting for quite a while. When the server finally got to her, she joked, "Are you the server, bartender, and cook?" His response: "I just don't cook." Her food still wasn't ready, so she had to keep waiting. I ordered a grapefruit mimosa, which cost $9.55 but was only about three-quarters full in the wine glass. Why serve it like that? It just felt skimpy. After finishing my drink, I sat for another 10 minutes waiting to close out my tab. This was actually my second visit. We came once before for dinner with friends since we all live in Mesa and thought the concept was cool and close to home. Unfortunately, the service then was just as bad, even with more staff on shift. I had hoped stopping in for a quick drink would be a better experience -- but sadly, it wasn't. I won't be back. It's a shame because the place has potential, but management really needs to take staffing seriously. read more

Went here after a long day at disc golf near by. Cool vibe and pretty big inside, patio available and lots of parking. I really enjoyed my burger and fries. Service was good but they did get a rush after we got there.theres a few pool tables , arcade games / darts and they we're doing music bingo which was easy to join by QR code. I like this place because of the staff and the Elote pizza. It was not that busy Saturday night so it was easy to get a table and order. We had trouble ordering through their QR code sticker on the table. You can order food and drinks through an app, but we preferred having a waitress, and she was so kind so that's the route we went with. The Elote pizza was our favorite. It was medium spicy and had flavor. If you order a burger medium rare, they will actually cook it the way you want it. I was super happy about it. I guess there was a music bingo night thing going on which was entertaining in the background because we heard all sorts of short clips from old songs and were trying to guess what they were. Since the outside of the restaurant said "Climb, Ride, Eat, Play" or something along those lines, we thought it would have some bouldering in there, but it did not. It drew us in though! read more

We stopped by for weekday lunch. It was very empty, every imaginable type of seating available. The interior was very promising. There was only one guy working front of house, he was absolutely excellent. We ordered our food with him, then played around with the online QR code ordering. I ordered some drinks thru the app, again excellent service. They really are setup for success, sadly the food took forever and wasn't very good. The salmon BLT was just wrong, the sweet potato fries were undercooked, husband's French dip like sandwich was small and surprisingly plain. The app pulled the in person order and online order together to make paying a breeze. I really wish the food had been better. I think this place would be an awesome place to hang out for some drinks, many TVs, sports and some fail videos. Lots of on tap drink options and a big bar. read more

The staff were nice and very friendly so no problem with the service. The place was decorated nicely as well, though I didn't get a chance to see the climbing wall. The food was okay. We got the Spinach Artichoke Dip as an appetizer and was served with tortilla chips and cheesy garlic bread. The dip itself tasted okay, but very mayonnaise-y. It kinda reminded me of cheesy baked mussels. The amount of dip they give you is little compared to the amount of chips and bread you get. The bread doesn't really taste that garlicky and just has cheese on it which is fine. My mom got the Elvis Calzone, which was fine. It wasn't spectacular. It's kind of hard to mess up a calzone. I got the Mushroom Swiss Burger. It came with beer battered waffle fries. The burger was whatever. It didn't have much flavor to it except for the char on the patty and was very greasy. Service left much to be desired. It was slow and quiet on a Saturday evening; seemed like a big party had left and there were a few patrons sitting at the bar. As Kyle H. mentioned, the QR code to the menu requires you to download an app to view it. There are paper menus, however, our server brought it over to our table after ~5 minutes. He did take our order but was confusing when we mentioned we had ordered wings on the app and that he could enter the rest of our order on the app. The pineapple express burger was good but I was expecting grilled pineapple rings, not grilled pineapple pieces (maybe I misread the menu?). There also didn't appear to be any teriyaki sauce as mentioned but not the biggest deal. My burger was cooked medium well as requested, although some sections were more charred. read more

Place opens till 2am. For a late arrival into Mesa and hungry, this was close to the hotel and the food was good. The place was fairly Packed with people mostly having drinks and cocktails. Oh and Did I mention there was Karaoke? Yes and the people sang well and there's even a Karaoke DJ that moved things along fast and even sings. They have I heard 20 beers on tap. Since it has been a few years since my last review, here is an updated review of this establishment. Everything written about the trivia still stands and it is a rather fun activity to do with friends. It happens two times a week on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM. If you place in the top three during any of the sessions you still get the same amounts of money to use during your next visit (1st = $15, 2nd = $10, 3rd = $5). Usually this is enough for appetizers for the group, just tell the server you have a voucher to use. They also have Karaoke on Tuesdays from 9:00 PM to 11:55 PM. Parking hasn't changed. It is still plentiful but sometimes when the place is crowded you may have to park further into the plaza to find a spot. Tacos are still $3 on Tuesdays and the variety also hasn't changed. It still consists of pork, shrimp, fish, beef, however it no longer comes with a side of chips and salsa. The menu is still vast and has something for everyone. Even though I come here almost weekly, I still haven't managed to try every single item on the menu. They also sometimes add new items to the menu so if you like trying new things, then seeing that is a nice touch. Also take heed this is a bar so the food is bar food so a lot of things are fried, are carb heavy, and/or are finger foods. There are some salads too (they're pretty tasty) for those wanting to eat a bit healthier. Boulders also uses the Union app now for ordering, in which you can either pay through your phone or ask the server for the check. I find this pretty useful because you can either scan the QR code on the table or if you have friends already seated and you're on the way, you can ask them for the table number and order ahead on the app so that your food is ready for you when you arrive. The service is still impeccable. The servers are all still very nice and friendly. Overall, still a great place! read more

We saw the Yelp photo with daily specials but we were told there an old photo which was disappointing. The menu surprisingly doesn't have any prices so we looked these up online before ordering since that's an important criteria to consider. We came here for the cheesy beefy dip sandwich. I love to try French dips everywhere that seems good enough to stop and try. We asked for the sandwich without peppers but our sandwich came with them anyway. The sandwich flavor was pleasant but there was a lot of extra bread without fillings. The waffle fries made the meal more enjoyable though. They were a pleasant addition to the sandwich and I would definitely eat them again. I also saw they have karaoke on Wednesdays and trivia during the week as well, that's pretty cool. read more

Another good time at Boulders. Saturday night is Rock Trivia. Very fun. Not the usual bar trivia. If you're not playing, you don't even notice is going on. Staff is awesome. Very diverse crowd. If you feel unwelcome at other places, your welcome here. When a woman feel comfortable going in and sitting at the bar by herself, that's a safe, relaxing place. Almost forgot. The food is great!! Pizza nachos were a bit out there but they worked. I liked the chips and it just went together. The pizza first let me say deep dish pizza should be thick not thin pizza with the dough flattened against the side. Elvislives deep dish misses the mark. It is not deep dish to start with. It didn't appear to have any cream cheese sauce on it. The Canadian bacon was extra salty along with the capers and you really needed the pineapple to cut the salt. Crust needs help. The Hawaiian island was about what you would expect. Deep dish was definitely not deep and the crust is blah. Otherwise the pizza was about what you would expect. Cheesy beef sandwich was ok. It seemed on the small side but it was enough for me I don't remember what other sandwich we had but it was on the small side as well Our server was wry friendly and helpful. Went here with some friends on a Sunday night around 6 pm. We pulled up and saw a hearse in the parking lot. I like Halloween, but that's just strange at a restaurant. It looked dark inside. We wondered if the place was even open. We went inside and the place had a pretty bad smell (as other reviews have stated). I am not sure if it was sewage or cauliflower, but it was disgusting. Since we were meeting friends, we stayed and waited for them to arrive to have dinner. There was only a one other table with people and a couple of guys at the bar. I think there were only 2 employees working (the manager? And server). The sign said to seat ourselves, so we sat in a booth. If you want to see a menu you need to use the QR code or request it. Even still, the drinks are only available with the QR code. Our friend asked for a regular menu, since he doesn't like QR codes and viewing the menu on the phone. Our server was nice, but had a punk rock vibe to him. Maybe it was his hearse? Regardless, he did a good job overall, but I think he was annoyed with all our questions. Our food took a long time to get to us. The place only had our table of four and the two guys at the bar now. We didn't order anything overly complicated. Burgers, wings and drinks. The food was just ok. It was nothing special. The happy hour prices were good though. As we tried to talk with our friends over dinner the TV got louder and louder. Every commercial got even louder. We could hardly hear each other talk. We asked if they could turn down the TV, but our server said no because people were watching the game. We didn't understand, since there was only 2 people at the bar and it didn't need to be that loud. At the end, we got our bill with an additional charge for using a credit card. I really dislike it when businesses do that to their customers. Put it in the cost in the food charge, so customers don't have to see it. The whole experience there was a turn off. We would not return to this location or the other locations associated with this business. It's surprising this place is still open and has so many good reviews. read more

My favorite neighborhood bar for soooooo many reasons. For starters, the staff knows how make you feel welcome and make fun of you like you're family all at the same time. Lots of laughs are had. They have a great rotating selection of craft beers, seltzers, and ciders and offer happy hour specials plus 1/2 off craft beer bottles and cans on Thursdays (some terms apply like it has to be a different brew each time). But the main inspiration for my review is the food. I mean seriously, bar food shouldn't be this good. They have a thoughtful selection that in many regards feels chef inspired. And they execute on quality. Good to note is they also have some killer happy hour specials.... My recommendations? Crispy Fried Artichokes ($4.99 at happy hour) Shishito Peppers ($4.99 at happy hour) Korean BBQ Mini Tacos (10 for $5.99 at happy hour) THE WINGS! So many delicious flavors (Market Price) and the PIZZA! ($18 average price for 14"). The pizza has a gourmet feel and the topping selections leave you wanting for nothing. My favorite is the Hard Day - Andouille Sausage, Bacon, Garlic, and fresh basil. Note though, the deep dish is not really deep, more like regular. The thin crust is like cracker crust...both are yummy. And if you still need more reason to check em out, head up on a Monday when all pizzas are 50% off. I will add, they also do a Taco Tuesday where all tacos are $3. I have yet to try the tacos but they look delicious too. read more

We had the cheesy beef sandwich - great ! The waffle fries were also great. It wasn't too busy, but we were there early on a Friday. The couple we were there with had the burger and they said it was great also. Definitely would return to the Boulders when in the area again. We haven't had pizza in a very long time and this one hit the spot. This sports bar had a very cool vibe inside with a moderate noise level and a pool table too. The staff was friendly alrhough over taxed, so service suffered a bit. We chose to sit outside on the patio for a quieter dining experience since apparently I'm "getting old" and my hearing suffers in moderately noisy environments. However, for people who want to be on their phone and not have to talk to their spouse this would be perfect! This pizza was really kinda' thin considering it was a "deep dish" and they were rather skimpy on the toppings i.e. of the 8 slices, only 4 had sausage... again; I'm "getting old" so at my age we notice how many lumps of sausage there are, how many pepperoni are sparsely scattered around the edge and that the black olives are only in the center area of the pizza...grrrr. However, we were hungry, the flavor was good and we were outside so service was quite sparse... so we ate rather than request more toppings. The dough / crust was really good and tasted homemade and when it was served in the deep dish pan, it was piping HOT which we loved! So the big question: will we be back? Yes, but will ask for proper toppings when we order the pizza. read more

Hello from Texas! Just had a quick visit here while in town and had a blast with my brother. Wednesday nights are apparently karaoke nights and the singers and song choices were on point! Tried their korean tacos and the chuck norris pizza with a few of their beers on tap and i gotta say everything, including their service, was great.
