I'm giving this place 5 stars largely because of how amazing our server was. She was clearly running the entire show, and despite how busy things were, she still did her best to check in on our large party. The drinks were great too. I let my friend order for me, and he decided to get me "the girliest drink they have," which turned out to be something called a "White Gummy Bear." I have no idea what was in it, but it was delicious. I'd take that over a bitter IPA any day. The ambiance itself was pretty standard for a sports bar. Nothing especially unique, but it had the lively, casual atmosphere you'd expect. The food was solid as well. I ordered the Grand Slam Chicken, a sandwich loaded with grilled chicken breast, mozzarella, bacon, mushrooms, and pesto mayo. My food did arrive super late because the restaurant was extremely busy and my order got lost in the shuffle. To their credit, though, the staff made it right, and the sandwich ended up being worth the wait. Overall, I had a great experience. Good food, good drinks, and great company made for a really fun night. If there's one thing this place could use, it's definitely a few more staff members during busy hours. read more

Im guessing the young girl server is the owners daughter because she is horrible. We went there tonight and were basically ignored. I had to ask 3 times if our food was ever going to show up over the period of about 45 minutes. All we ordered was a plate of fries and 1 fish taco. The fries never came and it took an act of God to get the taco. Then there was the drinks. One Diet Coke, that came fairly quick, and a vodka cranberry, that we had to ask for twice. We were at this place last November and got the same crappy service from the same girl. We thought maybe it was just a bad night then. Nope. Shes just horrible. Grabbed a cheeseburger to-go from Diamonds Sports Grille since it was super close to my hotel. No ability to order ahead online, but you can call and place an order. Pickup was pretty quick, I went to the bar and asked for the order, paid with card, and was on my way! I got a basic cheeseburger with fries. It was exactly what you expect from a dive bar, no complaints here. The burger patty was thick, cooked exactly as ordered, and well seasoned. The veggies were placed on the side, which I appreciate, and included in the bag was ketchup and mustard. It was pretty good! The fries had absolutely no seasoning, but were fresh and crispy. I love this bar! Diamonds is our "neighborhood bar". We can easily walk here to take in a game or just to eat. The food never disappoints . My favorites are still the Cobb salad, the fish and chips, or any of their burgers. They also have great wings. Every seat in the restaurant has a good view of a television. There is also a small outdoor patio area with televisions also. The service is always great. Several of the employees have been there a really long time. I highly recommend! read more

Ifi could give zero I would. Ok we are here on July 4Th. Had the worst service ever. Watched people walk out because of the service. Sat here for over 2 hours and our server never came back to us we had to go to her every single time. I would give a zero rating, if possible. Whomever owns this establishment, should get a clue about staffing when there are major events happening. No management present for July 4th. 1 bartender, who did a fine job keeping up, but has a horrible attitude when questioned on the poor service. Also, dont accuse customers of skipping out on the bill, just because they question it along with the poor service and getting food orders incorrect and having to constantly ask to get any service. Instead of treating your customers like crap, why not call the owner or manager and request additional help? The only person that deserves any kudos/recognition is the cook, who was busting his butt to keep up with how busy it was. I would give him some grace for a mistake with the food orders, knowing how busy he was and receiving zero help/support from the rest of the staff. I have never been to any establishment, busy or not, and had a server walk past our table numerous times and literally look the other direction, when our whole table had empty drinks, wanting to order food, and then wanting the check. Hopefully she gets some customer service training and/or some kind of staffing support from ownership/management in the future. If not, she may want to select a new field to work in, as dealing with the public is definitely not in her lane. read more

Came in for lunch and to watch the Cubs game and the place was already hopping, despite Karen being the only server on the floor she managed to take great care of us and many other tables. You can't beat the beer prices (under $8 for a pitcher) and we had the special which the pastrami on marble rye with French fries for $12.99 it was very tasty. We will be back. read more

Our server was extremely rude, we had a hair in our food, and the burger was frozen. I left a small tip because I didn't believe the server deserved 20% and she CHASED me out of the restaurant screaming and yelling. She's clearly a crash out and the type to spit in your food. I didn't get her name but she had a messy bun hair style, and stated that she works almost every night. I would not recommend this place to anyone and I hope this server learns that she can't be rude to customers and expect customers to still compensate her. read more

After my teenagers high school event ended late, we found this place as it was the only food option that was still open that wasn't fast food. We were met by the rudest, vile bartender as she immediately started yelling at us for bringing our kids into a "bar". No signs, no explanation, just rudeness. Service was just terrific! We sat at a long high table next to the bar and I found our servers to be very attentive, at least attentive enough. It was election day and a few of the many TV's had CNN on broadcasting early results. Big props for not having Fox on. I ordered a vodka soda, it was only $3.22 but it was weak as heck! I didn't order a second for that and other reasons. We ordered some food and the Celery and Carrots with ranch were very fresh, crisp and well cut. House-made Ranch was also a huge plus. My Turkey sandwich was just ok, I did modify it and all the toppings were fresh... except maybe the bun. This sandwich needs to be on a roll or sliced bread. The bun was just too much, the fries were decent although I hardly touched them. However the Nachos fell far short of terrific. a big pile of just below average blah, for a sports bar and the price I expected something more appealing. Will I return? It's out of my hood, but sure. Whenever I stay at the Marriott, it is my go-to lunch place and a fun place to hang out for beers in the evening. One of the things I love about this place is the staff. When in Mesa to visit family I stay at the Delta hotel across the street so it is a natural to walk on over and have a beer. It was a pleasant surprise to find out it is a Chicago bar in Mesa! As a sports bar they do a good job with enough TV's to cover every NFL game on Sunday. As a Chicago bar there is plenty Cubs stuff (even a big Hairy Cary head) Bears stuff and other memorabilia. The important part is they also have Chicago style dogs and chili dogs. The fries are always hot as everything else that is suppose to be. The things that should be cold (like beer) are very cold.... Let's just say it is a sports bar and staff is friendly the food is good and there are tv's everywhere. What more can be said. Chicago people visiting Mesa head here right away. read more
