I've been going to this vet for years now but just realized I had never left a review. They've been so fantastic to my animals that I've referred several friends and family here. I first went it because my cat had a growth on her hind leg paw pad that looked painful and uncomfortable. I went in and Dr. Isaac helped find some options for testing and then treatment. We discovered she had a very rare cancer and between the testing and initial treatment it was going to be expensive. The doctor worked with me to decide on an option that fit my budget and still helped my cat. Her growth was removed but it grew back pretty aggressively. I went back and got it removed again but this time it took 4 years to grow back. She survived cancer three times with Dr. Isaac but unfortunately the fourth time she didn't make it. I've now taken two street cats who have been helped by Dr. Justina. Although things get pricey fast, they've worked really well with my pets and now these neighborhood cats. I would give this place zero stars if I could. When I called, I was told the office opened at 8 a.m. to bring my cat in. The evening before, I was denied an appointment because "the vet sees their last client at 5 p.m." -- even though I explained my cat was having trouble breathing. They close at 6pm. I ended up taking him to urgent care, where he was given antibiotics. The next morning, his condition worsened, so I went back to this clinic hoping they'd finally help. The receptionist (long curly-haired woman) told me the vets wouldn't be in until 9 a.m. and dismissively told me to "take him to an animal hospital." Her attitude was extremely rude and unprofessional -- she spoke the same way to another woman with a sick dog. Sadly, my cat passed away shortly after. I've also had long-standing concerns about how they handle animals. In previous visits, the vet techs claimed he was "aggressive," and suggested I medicate him with gabapentin, which I stupidly asked the vet to give me medication for. The vet techs always took him to the back without me. Once, during a deworming treatment, I could hear him crying loudly -- when I demanded to see him, he was muzzled and had his eyes covered with a large green restraint. I will never bring another animal here again. They charge an arm and a leg and their services are very appalling. Not to mention, the place is falling apart. Please think twice before trusting this place with your pets. Highly encourage you take your pets to Ambassador Animal Hospital near Cherry and Carson. Not an arm and a leg, and it's cleaner. Staff and vet are empathetic and were super supportive when my fur baby passed away. read more

This place is a total scam!!! I brought our dog for vomiting , diarrhea and lethargic. They did and X-ray and claimed he had to have an exploratory lap because in the X-ray it showed there was a possible foreign object, with no hesitation we accepted the surgery being that they are the professionals, but what was found were "pockets of gas" really!!! $5000 plus later for pockets of gas ?!!! This place is not what it use to be. Came here years ago. But it's not the same. Staff was very nice. But have no idea how to handle a big dog. My Canne Corso mix, cut the top of his paw, real deep. I was able to wrap it when it happened and when I got to the vet, they took it off to see, they couldnt put it back on. That was upsetting. I thought they had a way to handle him, but no. We talked about surgery and they wanted to charge me up the wazoo for stitches, just because of his weight. No thank you. This place is not for big dogs. Im tending his wound, for about less then 200 bucks. Not to mention, they wanna push flea meds on you when you're already in a panic mode for your dog. No thanks. Too bad zero stars isn't an option. I brought my Doberman, 5 days post-op, to Boulevard clinic to ensure she was healing well. She got her ears cropped at another clinic. The vet removed her bandages to air her ears out and told me to come back in 5-6 days to remove her stitches. After getting home I saw my puppy's ear had split open and to my surprise they had removed all her stitches! After calling them back twice the finally admitted there had been a miscommunication between the vet and the vet tech! They offered to stitch her back up, but who would trust this clinic? I had to drive 2 hours to the first clinic and she underwent additional surgery. I called boulevard for 3 days trying to get answers and was constantly met with rude receptionists promising someone would call me back. I finally told them I'd have to pursue legal action if someone didn't return my call. Suddenly, they were free to chat. They said they'd talk to management to see what could be done to compensate for the additional surgery. No reply for days and when I called the rude receptionist said "it's being handled". No details, no information. After painstakingly following up daily, they compensated us for the additional surgery she had to go through from THEIR mistake. For your pet's sake, stay away from this place. read more

Christina, Elisa, Dr. Georgette, and another lady who came to get my baby from the car, they were all wonderful. They answered all my questions, helped my widdy get the care he needed, ran tests and blood work to rule out things he may have and prescribed the right medication for him. He's recovering from a UTI which is common in cats but still frightening for the pet parents. I'm just really pleased and grateful for the empathy that the staff has at Boulevard Animal Hospital. Recently my Great Dane was ill and we didn't know until we found him laying in his urine. We called various vets and explained what was wrong with our Dane and they all gave me the same answer. Take him to the emergency room. We found the number to this place and explained what was happening and they let us know that they were almost closed but they would be more than happy to check him out the next day if we were ok with waiting. Sure enough we waited and took him the next day. Turns out he had kidney stones (over 100 stones) and he had a blockage. They explained what needed to be done and what options we had. They were super understanding with us since we didn't know what to do...we decided to have them perform the surgery and try and save our Great Dane. Thanks to Dr. Emily and her staff our Great Dane has made a great recovery and is once again a normal dog. Thank you guys! read more

THIS IS A RED ALERT!! DO NOT TAKE YOUR NEW PUPPY HERE AT ALL!!! I took my pup here to get his ears done on Friday May 14 2021 and had an apt to take him back May 17 2021 to get his check up on his ears and so did his other 3 siblings. Well one siblings owner called said their pup got parvo then mine and his other siblings one by one in a 3 day span all 4 pups who came to this hospital got parvo. Then all us owners had to spend 1,000's of dollars to treat our own pups to try to save their lives. The hospital was then called and we advised of this out break of parvo at their location and there was no sympathy what so ever. All they had to say about it is that it's parvo season. REALLY? They didn't want to accommodate us in anyway taking into consideration it was their facility that was not sanitized, nor taking any measure or advising us owners who had trusted them to attempt to prevent an outbreak when a sick dog was there to be treated for parvo but yet still acted as our pups wouldn't get it knowing they were not fully vaccinated as of yet bc of their age. So bottom line is if you want your pup to get parvo then by all means take your pup here. read more

The reason I only give 2 stars is because this "animal hospital" is just a cash cow...they focus on charging high rates on testing instead of actual treatment. I have taken more than one animal here and it's always the same spiel. With so much experience you think sometimes they would be able to see what possible causes are occurring instead of trying to test for everything, charging $200+ for each test run and then after almost 1k adds up, then they want to move with treatment. This is what's wrong with most vet offices in today's age. All because they want to live a lavish life ...maybe you shouldn't be a vet...should have been a car sales person. I will not be taking any more animals in -need to this office. Even to just euthanize a sick animal that is near deaths door is $260 . I've seen the prices for medication since I have access to pricing due too many connections...Its highway robbery the prices you charge. Got some test, blood work done and then eventually had surgery. Took our baby in with out an appointment for surgery and they were able to get her in and get to work on her right away. My pup had ruptured her anal glands and i needed to take her in somewhere immediately which is quite difficult to do during COVID lockdowns. I found Boulevard Animal Hospital as a recommendation from another local vet & they were able to take me in ASAP. After surgery, oral cleaning / teeth extractions, & ear cleaning, I ended up paying close to 3k but honestly that's reasonably priced for the level of care & availability that they have. I got updates constantly about my pup and her 2 follow up appointments were included with the price as well as the take home medication she was on for a week. I am forever grateful for the team here. We got our pups ears cropped & the whole process has been super easy as far as appointments go and they are very clear about instructions and explaining care, etc. The girls that help you are all very sweet & they accommodate us when we unfortunately can't make appointments due to work. Last time we went our puppy was due for more shots & before I could even ask about them to see if we could do them that day one of the girls told us which ones he needed & asked if we wanted to do them - that's nice because if you aren't keeping track, they are. Wow! Where do I start? They are absolutely amazing!!! They did a great job with my Pomeranian. Im very grateful for them and prices are affordable. My Pomeranian broke her leg and they were able to help get her out of pain immediately and within a few hours she was back to her regular self. They took me in the same day, the front office staff was very polite and very helpful when it came to any questions I had. The Dr. not only seemed very concerned with my puppy but also gave me his number just in case I had any questions while my puppy was under medication and said I can call any time, now that is grade "A" service!! When I asked what had happened and showed that it was dry (it's was on her for a while) she stated that she did not know, hand me the dog and walked inside. The Doctors and staff here were a true blessing to our family, when our seven year old girl Lola was able to successfully get out of a very complex surgery for Pyometra . We brought her in with a fever of 105' , weak and no appetite. The doctors here took quick action and recommended all the right test to confirm this life threatening infection. We were very, very overwhelmed with emotions but the doctors took there time to guide us. The surgery was completed 12/13/17 in office and The Doctors and helpful staff were able to get our Lola, back home by today 12/14/17 and she is now eating , barking and walking on her own which is such an amazing blessing!! One of our dogs was very aggressive and they were always able to give him a great bath and shave. He had a skin condition which they were able to take care of. They helped cause the DEATH of my dog. Our dog just gave birth 3 days ago and she was over due, we felt a dead puppy inside of her still so we took her to he hospital. They took her in to run an x-ray that cost us money and they came out rather fast with results showing that there was nothing inside of her. When we asked for a copy if it, they said we couldn't have it but we were happy and took her home. The next following day she became seriously ill and weak. She had blood coming out of her rear end, so we decided to bring her back the next morning. On our second visit my dog was dying. They ran an x-ray again and this time they saw a dead puppy inside. It's tailbone stabbed my dog causing her to internally bleed. They couldn't operate surgery on her to take it out cause she was already too weak, so they would have to wait for her to heal. She only got worse though, so they were nice enough to put effort into it and transfer her to a hospital where she died at night. I don't want to assume anything, but honestly, why didn't the first x-ray show the dead puppy? She was healthier at that time too so if they had seen it the first time then they would have had a higher chance to save her. I feel that they are careless initially, but if they really think your pet is injured they'll try, and even then it'll cost a bit of money, but they did refund us some money after my dog passed away cause they did not use all the things we paid for. My first statement may have been a bit exaggerated, but I needed to grab attention so people would hear me out. If they were doing their full job as a vet, my dog probably wouldn't have died so soon. Ultimately, I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE, UNLESS ITS AN OBVIOUS EMERGENCY. One star because I am bitter, I would have possibly given them two, cause they gave us tissues after telling me that my dog didn't make it. read more
