I stopped by this place on my way home from work today. May i say, this place is really good. Highly recommend them. I am eager to return when I'm not so tired so I can sit and enjoy the atmosphere of the place a bit more. Nice folks greeted me as I walked in, there was a comfortable vibe, and looked like plenty to enjoy. I was just stopping g in for a warm drink since the crazy Texas weather has been unseasonably chilly and I was very happy with my order. The price was good, the drink is great, and it was made fast and with quality. I came to this charming and cozy coffee shop on a rainy day and was greeted by the owner. I ordered the tiger spice chai (hot) and the pepperoni pizza bagel. While waiting on my order I checked out jewelry, bookmarks and glassware they had for sale. I noticed they offer events in the community a couple of times a month and in the back have a lounge for later nights. They have teas, waters and several options for food. The prices are reasonable and the atmosphere is peaceful. Boulevard brew is located next to local businesses and has a cute small porch to sit with flowers. I look forward to returning. read more

Coffee shops are popping up everywhere in the past year it seems. Boulevard Brew is off our beaten path in River Oaks a few doors down from the heralded Griffs (eh, in my opinion) and Clear Fork liquor (with its impressive selection of Martin House beers). Boulevard brew has a cheerful front with some flower boxes, out door seating, and a sign advertising "Vintage Vibes". The front room has a cozy feeling with lots of natural light. There is also a second, larger space towards the back with lower lighting and more sofas and tables. I was a little concerned it might feel tight if it was busy, but not so at all. The staff (one was the owner I think) were exceptionally personable and accommodating. Super high marks for how they helped us and tweaked our drinks as we are both trying to adjust our drinks for temporarily restrictive diets. The menu includes food items and signature sweet drinks that I found interesting. Boulevard uses coffee from a small batch roaster in Dallas named La Creme, and features some tea from David Rio in San Francisco. My drink was a Green Eye (triple 16 oz drip coffee) with a splash of cream and half sweet sugar free vanilla. It's not fully working for me everywhere yet, and think that La Creme has stronger body and acidity than my preference. But, a triple drip is a lot of coffee for 16 oz., too. She's been drinking a quad oat milk latte and hers was bitter, too. Worth mentioning, our total came to $17.68, add two bucks tip and we're almost at $20 for two drinks. We did add several shots, and I didn't ask him to break it down for me. I'm telling myself had a tried there would've been no way to rework that with fewer add-ons and maybe it would've been a more reasonable price. Boulevard opened up right after the pandemic, a rough time to sustain a food business with all the opening and closing and changing restrictions. A new coffee shop in River Oaks....and it's brews up some good stuff! I noticed this spot a week or two ago, but just dropped in today. They were doing a brisk take-out business. While the nice employee was preparing beverages for the folks ahead of me, I got some time to look around and snap some pics. I was warmly greeted and ordered the Mayan Mocha latte and a slice of the delectable Italian cream cake that was "calling my name" as it sat on that cake platter. The drink and cake were delicious. And YES, you can sub dairy milk for almond, oat, or coconut in your beverages. Not only are they a full coffee bar, but they also offer an extensive smoothie and tea menu, sandwich menu, pastries/cake, and are hosting a Spanish "crash course" in June. I ordered takeout, but the inside is cute, cozy with the feel of a small, laid back, but upscale coffee shop. There is plenty of parking in this strip mall. Bought some pressed flower acrylic earrings for my mother's bday and she LOVED them. Every time I'm home to see my family, my mother and I stop in to get a drink. The service is great and prompt. They will even come and personally bring your food to you, which is usually not the case for a coffee shop. A must for a studying or working session or spending time together with loved ones. A unique place to stop in to buy a craft coffee to-go as well, forgoing stereotypical starbucks. We visited Boulevard Brew on a random trip to this area of town. Coffee sounded good, so we stopped in mid-afternoon on a Saturday. I was disappointed to find the place empty, but I was not disappointed with the service. The young man who helped us was really friendly and very patient with someone who couldn't figure out what he wanted. This young man made great suggestions and eventually customized a drink to perfection. The espresso drinks were standard fare and mine was delicious. While waiting for my drink, this young man shared some insight into oat milk and the differences between almond and soy. He was helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable! Barista was friendly and very helpful since it was my first time in, a big plus in my book. Yes, I finally unearthed a wee bit of Fort Worth Nirvana. It has taken six years, but it is there. Thanks to a pandemic spawned downsizing necessity that led us to a new Fort Worth neighborhood, wedged between the cusp of a gentrifying area, a blue blood borough, and a hood where rent should include ammunition, our Fort Worth point of view has altered. This new frame of reference has revealed a few new Fort Worth gems. I have a feeling I'll go on and on about Salsa Limón's tocos that have no equal, but that's for another rambling post on another day. Today, this keyboard spews my lengthy sentences to espouse the goodness of a funky coffee house joint called Boulevard Brew at 5406 River Oaks Boulevard, River Oaks, Texas, about a mile from the new apartment. When I walked into the Boulevard Brew carrying the new rollable DGT chessboard that my sons gave me for Christmas, the barista called out to me, "You just missed chess night." Sarah, a twenty-something provider of caffeinated liquid goodness, smiled a delightful charm distributing smile that reminded me that I'm a 53-year-old man. "Excuse me," I squinted. Sarah explained that another barista had started a chess night to promote the most excellent of board games. Then, she proceeded to pour me a cup of joe and took the hint that I prefer mine black without any ceremonial formality or inflated descriptive java jargon. Excessive vocabulary goes into my prose, not my coffee cup. Then it hit me, joy, "THEY HAVE A CHESS NIGHT!" I should also note that shortly after the chess night revelation, it also hit me that the coffee cost $3.25. But then again, like the pretty young girl's smile, a three-digit price tag on coffee also reminds me I am a 53-year-old man. So this price shock is not the coffee house's problem, but mine. You see, a cup of coffee in 1968, the year I was born, cost $0.40. So even though that 1968 .40 ¢, when adjusted for inflation, is equivalent to $3.19 in 2021 dollars and the average price of A Cup of Coffee in Texas right now is $2.52, I'm still psychologically stunned at the concept of that charge. Nevertheless, it's a very fair price, considering the ambiance and CHESS NIGHT. Then, get this, it's no joke; I struck up a joyful conversation with some dude with a fantastic chest-length beard named Joe. Oops! The dude was named Joe, not the beard. Did I compose a dangling non-participial modifier or something? Anyway, I was having a cup of joe with Joe, AND he was preparing his DM's notes for his weekly D&D campaign night. So, setting aside his homework, Joe offered me a monolog on the high quality of baked goods Boulevard Brew offers. However, I quit listening because I was still soaking in the fact that the most excellent of roleplaying games, D&D, also took place at these tables. So, chess and D&D (and tasty-baked-goods-whatever), I did call this place "Nirvana" at the top of this longwinded text, remember? As for the ambiance mentioned above, the front room looks like a clean café trope should. You see a barista's station, a counter with a cash register or rather a new-fangled Apple touchscreen thingy, baked goods in a display case, a collection of 1950's celebrities' photographs on the wall, a few high tables with stools, a comfy couch with a coffee table displaying some artsy magazines, USB plugs nearby for charging devices, and chalkboard menus (got to have chalkboard menus even with today's tech). Yes, cliché; yes, clean. Yes, I know. But, keep looking, and you'll find local artwork on the walls, more seating in a room behind the barista's station arranged in little nooks of more comfy couches, and space for a band. A closer study will show the comfortable sofas, coffee tables, lamps, and other furniture accessories are 50's/60's retro. Wait! Wow! Did I gloss over "space for a band?" Whoa! I checked out their website, and I found live music dates! Weekly live music! Kwin Smith, "we'll put the band back together, do a few gigs, we get some bread. Bang! Five thousand bucks." By the way, I'm not too fond of text with more than one exclamation point. It makes me dyspeptic. It's cheap and silly. I'm sorry; I humbly ask for forgiveness. But, do you blame me? Coffee! This review is based on the service. I have to preface this with, I am a picky coffee drinker. I like what i like and i usually get Starbucks caramel frappuccino. That said my husband has made it a point to take me to different coffee shops to experience different coffee. I have found that not many compare to Starbucks ( i'm not saying Starbucks coffee is the best, its just what I like) Anyway Blvd Coffee was empty when we went in I think it was 12:00 and no one ever came in while we were there but i was trying to not ask a million questions so i told the guy behind the bar "I usually drink the caramel frappucino from starbucks do you have something similar?" He immediately started keying it into his cash register and said yes before i can finish my statement. I asked if he could do it sugar free and with a slight attitude he said we have Sugar free caramel syrup I said yeah that'll work! I use SF caramel syrup at home and it works just fine so i thought it would be fine. When i got the coffee I was excited about it I was going mmmm ready for a delicious cup of coffee, well it wasn't bad but it wasn't as sweet as i normally like it. I asked the guy if he can add a little more syrup because it wasn't as sweet as i like it. He then proceeds to say "what do you want i added 4 pumps do you want natural sugar?" I told him no can you add another pump because i use SF caramel syrup at home and it usually sweetens it just fine. (I realize different syrups have different levels of how sweet they can be) so just adding a little bit more would have done the trick. But he acted as if me asking him to add some more syrup was the worst thing I could have done. I left but was upset that he acted that way for something so small imo so i immediately went back in because I no longer wanted the coffee and threw it away and he said THANK YOU with a smart attitude. I called and asked who the owner of the coffee shop was and suprise, suprise the guy that helped me was the owner. So moral of this review I think this coffee shop makes too much money so they may not be interested in having your business so you may want to think twice about spending your hard earn $$$ here because they may feel that you are a bother instead of a valuable patron of their establishment. read more

This place is cute and one of the only coffee shops in the area. The service was fine. However their coffee could use some work. I had an iced quad vanilla oat milk latte. And it was the most bland latte I have ever had. I get this exact drink from other local coffee shops around Fort Worth, so it's not my first time. I am a regular at this coffee shop. Every drink I've ever ordered has been absolutely delicious. My partner's daughter particularly loves their Thai Tea and begs her dad or me to pick one up every time we go. Service is friendly and the lounge in back is pretty cool on Friday nights. I've done their painting and brews (kind of like paint with a twist) and been there when they have musicians there. It's a chill, laid-back vibe. read more

Stumbled upon this place and am so glad I did! They have a great assortment of coffees and specialty teas. I tried the Fireside drip coffee, the Yummy Tummy tea, and the to-go chicken salad. Both drinks were delightful and the made-in-house chicken salad was some of the best I've had. I also received a discount for being a teacher which was greatly appreciated! I've heard great things about Blvd Brew coffee, so I decided to check it out recently, on my way to work. Customer service was lacking. It's almost as if the employee was bothered because I showed up (no one else was there at the time). Coffee was ok. I've had better. My breakfast sandwich looked & tasted like it was a frozen breakfast sandwich warmed up in the microwave. Expensive. I paid too much for what I got. Don't recommend it. read more
