Now personally I like Boulevard Drinks dogs far better than Rutts but Flying that bAnner just is not right when you came in 9th in the ratings , no where near the claimed number 1 spot. Small, divey, delicious. This is right next to the Loew's Theater. I was there for an event and swung by here upon a recommendation and it was a solid one! There isn't too much to say really, it's hot dogs. They are awesome, the kraut, the chili cheese, really any way you go you won't be disappointed. You've got 3-4 people behind the counter, it's quick and simple. Get your grub and either sit at the small counter and go. I got 2 dogs with kraut and a small drink for $5. Can't beat that. Well... it's just OK... while I agree that the dogs taste great I thought that they were pretty thin (I had both a dog and sausage)... the chilli sauce has some real heat, which I love, so be careful when they fix your dog if you're sensitive to spicy. I though that the sauerkraut was runny and sub par ... a big no-no for hot dog aficionados. All-in-all, just an OK place... I wouldn't drive far out of my way to come here. Pretty much just like Papaya Dog but simpler. The dogs are excellent, and the chili is great. It's got a kick to it, which makes it unique. The set-up is so classic, you feel you could be sitting in just about any decade from the last 50 years. I would definitely come back - especially on a trip to the movie palace next door. read more

I'm a big fan of hot dogs I definitely recommend a hot dog with chili from here. The dogs are grilled nicely and the chili adds a bit of kick. I tried one with raw onions and that sucked ass so I'm not gonna vouch for anything else. Don't try to drive here because parking is hard to find. Thing to know before you go .. 1.DO NOT drive to this location.. take the Path.. it is a NIGHTMARE to find parking over here.. as I discovered yesterday. 2. They are directly across from the Journal Square station. 3. This place is CASH only and no bills bigger than a $20 will be accepted. 4. The dogs are GRILLED and have a lovely "snap" to them. 5. 2 dogs per person is needed .. anymore and you may have a tummy ache. I went with the chili and cheese and the chili and sauerkraut. Both excellent choices and filling. My only complaint was that the bread gets soggy a bit too quickly .. I am a slower eater when it comes to dogs. Overall I would agree that this is a GREAT spot for some quick and tasty dogs. And it is CHEAP .. 4 dogs and a coke was under $10.00.. SWEET! read more

These dogs are delicious! Not as salty or as greasy as grays papaya but huge flavor and a great bite. The place itself us small, 7 stools and no standing room. Its not really clean which I'd the only reason for the 1 star drop. The chili dog us actually meaty and the kraut is crisp but not overly pickled. They also make lime rickeys if you ask, and I suggest you do. read more

I don't know if I'm totally biased because my dad has been bringing me to this little joint for hot dogs and pineapple juice since I have use of memory but regardless, I don't think I have ever or will ever taste a better hot dog anywhere else! The franks are always fresh, tasty and magically delicious! I love their fountain pineapple juice. It's the perfect accompaniment to the dog. Quite honestly, before 2014 I had not eaten in this place since I was a child younger than 10 years old. That maybe because of the location, and some of the patrons that are around that place. This place is a little hole in the wall at journal square in jersey city, but don't let that fool you. Their hot dogs are tasty and it can be summer, spring, winter or fall, this place is the place to stop if you are in a hurry. The service is quick, good customer service and even though I have tasted better, they don't fall behind at all in taste. They sure do beat some hot dog vendors, at least here I know that they have good running water to wash their hands with. With a hot dog street vendor it's hard to find one that has running water and cleanliness is a big thing with me. When you see Boulevard Drinks from the street, its about the size of my closet. It's tiny, and two people can't even stand next to each other in there. When you walk inside, have your order ready, because the guys behind the counter are fast. Within placing your foot inside the door, you could have your hot dogs + drink and pay within a minute. I'm not even kidding. You could double park your car on the BLVD and run in before the light turns green. The hot dogs are really delicious. I'm not sure exactly what kind of dog they use, whether or not they make it, but they are good. The best part is the chili though. It is spicy enough to make you order a drink, but perfect enough for two of them. They are addicting. Now that I'm thinking about these hot dogs, I'm actually thinking about the next time I have to go to Jersey City, because I really want to make a stop. Quick service. The whole family loved them. Adults and kids. The dogs have the perfect snap to them when you bite them and are cooked perfectly. You have a choice of a few basic toppings (raw onions, sweet onions, sour kraut, cheese sauce, relish and chili). And the chili is not your typical ground beef and beans. Instead it's more of a ground combination of spices that are pretty tasty and a little spicy. The price is right. The space is small. We picked up and ate them at home. It was a fun trip! read more

I always order two hot dogs with chili and onions with a side of fruit punch. It's so flavorful and it has a little spice to it which I absolutely love. Sabrett all beef franks, buns softer then the ones on the back of your girl!, and a Chili/Onion/Beef sause that is out of this world if you can handle the spice.
