We've been with BPC a while... but as of today we're on the search for a new vet. I have felt for a while that I'm being overcharged for random medications, tests and procedures. The decisions/expenses are never explained, and the bill at the end of a simple visit is enormous. Today we took our 8-month old dog in for an upset stomach, and the bill was $700. Pet owners have no recourse because we aren't doctors, we simply love our pets and want them to be okay. But we can't afford to just hand over this kind of money, without even so much as an explanation of what tests are recommended, why, and what expense we might be looking at. All right... I've been thinking about writing this for a while. If I had the energy to go at it I clearly have a lawsuit. I kinda don't know where to begin. I guess from the beginning. So my dog had hidden tumor in her ear... and it burst. Dr. Schwartz fixed it right up super fast at a reasonable rate. But the day after the surgery I took off the I.V. bandage off as instructed and noticed they had left the needle in the leg and my dog Dillybar. (I still have the bloody needle) Blood instantly began pumping all over the place. I wrapped Dilly's leg fast as I could and hurried back to them. Thankfully I live on the same block. Dr. Schwartz blamed his asst. in front of me and took no responsibility. Acted like it was almost normal. He didn't seem to really give a shit and sheepishly offered me a free dog grooming. Wow. Dilly is fine... for that I am very thankful. Flash forward about 9 months or so and Dilly (15 year oldish) had a blister/sist suddenly burst on the side of her body. She's had this small bump for over 7 years that had tested negative back then. It recently became a bit bigger and enflamed. Here's where I mess up... I didn't want to go back to Boulevard Pet Clinic but it was the closest and I wanted to move fast so I did. I know, I know... fool me twice. I realize that wasn't a good move, and I'm sorry I made it. When I arrived to the clinic in the morning the doc was in surgery and they said they'd call me back when he was out... wrong. I called them. 3 times. Front desk people didn't even remember me... gave them my number again and got in at 4:30pm... which I was really glad about. But Dr. Schwartz stood there (with a black eye) and showed zero concern really... told me to get it surgically removed for 1k in the morning. There was no other talk at all... possibly treatment options... nope. I thought Dilly was actually looking pretty good. Additionally during this visit I mentioned that there was a little bump by Dilly's ear where they had performed the previous surgery and he said it was the new ear hole... huh? how can a hole be a bump? His asst. looked down at it and realized it was stitches left in since the surgery! What? Sorry this is so long... I'm really trying to be tighty. Anyway... this all ends with me going home and starting simple cleaning treatments of Saline and Neosporin. The 1k surgery suggested wasn't needed as the scab fell off in less than 2 weeks... and as many online sources suggested. There's my story. Still haven't used my free dog bath. There are many bad reviews that I agree with on this Yelp and I'm sure there's been good experiences here as well... but mine goes past the point of simple carelessness. read more

I brought my sweet puppy home and we had 5 fun filled days and then it changed. I noticed she was very lethargic. Then at 4am the next morning she started getting sick. I sat on the phone for 1.5 hours trying to find a vet hospital that wasn't at full capacity. Finally one said to come at 8:30 am. I sat there praying with a sick puppy waiting till they would see us. When they finally saw us they ran tests and $400 later said it's just worms she'll be fine & sent us home with antibiotics. She didn't get better though. Two days later she was much sicker. This time the hospital said they need to admit her. I ended up spending $5k for two days of care. They wouldn't let me go in the back and see her. They then called me and said my puppy is depressed and made a turn for the worst. They asked me if I could pay for 2 more days of care (another $5k), try a less expensive hospital or would I like to let her go. I was devastated. I sat in my car calling vet hospitals trying to see if anyone else would take her. Everyone I called was at full capacity. I then thought of Boulevard Pet Clinic. I drove up the road and didn't even know if Dr Schwartz did overnight, supportive care. Well he did. He listened to me share what was going on and said, "Go get your puppy." Dr Schwartz saved my puppy's life! She was there 4 days and he gave us our own room so I could hold her and give her emotional support while he took care of her. He took such good care care of her. He noticed the treatment she had been receiving was too intense for her and he took a more gentle approach. She had her follow up visit this week and she's doing well. Boulevard Pet Clinic is my Vet for life. Go to Dr Schwartz. He's knowledgeable; he cares and my puppy is here today because of him. read more

His prices are reasonable, he is gentle with my animals and is on call anytime day or night for my pets. He is a no mess around, seen it all kinda man who treats my dogs as if they were his own. He has a dry sense of humor that I find charming and I can always make him smile. I see other reviews referring to him as a "condescending" talker but I can assure you he is anything but. He is just firm, direct and to the point - which I appreciate. No need for sugar coating anything when it comes to my babies. The staff is amazing and I don't have enough good things to say about them or their love for animals. They often go above and beyond for my babies. Disgusted by their lack of care and competence. This is the first Yelp review I've ever written but I feel compelled to warn people about this facility. Took my new rescue dog in for a neuter procedure. When he came out, the vet had wrapped a bandage around the dog's scrotum that was so tight, it looked like the blood was being cut off. Stupidly, in hindsight, I trusted them. They told me to leave the bandage on for 2 weeks. After a few days, the tight bandage looked like it was inflamed and painful so I called the vet again to check. They were dismissive and said yes, the bandage can stay on for two weeks. Another day went by and my dog was clearly not ok. Low energy, head hanging, off his food. And the bandaged area was starting to look infected. Took him to a different vet - they had a look and it turns out they've never seen anything like it. The flesh had been so badly damaged and cut off from blood supply that it had formed a necrotic wound. My dog's skin was literally rotting. He's going to need another surgery to clean out all the dead and infected skin and try to close up the damage. The vet at Boulevard Pet Clinic won't even take responsibility after this result. They dismissed the issue saying they have no record of putting a bandage on the dog's scrotum. They say maybe the dog just licked the wound too much. That a vet could do so much harm with such disregard for an animal's suffering is disgusting. read more

We took our dog here for an exam because of very bad breath and the doctor did such a thorough exam that he found everything that was going on with him. We are so grateful how awesome this place was and affordable too. Now our dog has fresh breath and we know what diet he needs to be on because of his heart and that he is developing cataracts and we are treating his ear infection with eardrops. We have been with Dr Schwartz for about 30 years and 4 dogs. Last week our min-pin doxie was viciously attacked by a coyote and Dr Schwartz performed emergency surgery. She survived the surgery BUT he released her the next day and within 1 hour of returning home she died. I will never be able to wrap my head around why he thought she should go home so early. She still had drain tubes in her. Unfortunately we trusted him and he made the wrong call. I don't know what the rush was. We certainly didn't insist she come home or that we couldn't afford another night. So now she's gone and it seems so unnecessary. read more

I brought in 3 cats for a regular check-up and this is what happened... Dr. Schwartz failed to disclose to me that the ear mite medicine was $200 per-cat while there is a $16 home remedy I could have done myself. And the medicine he treated them with DIDN'T EVEN WORK!! On top of that, my little cat, Octavia, had a foreign object ingested, and I was told that she needed to stay for a few hours to be "observed." Turns out, over 6 x rays were taken of her over the course of 3 hours as they watched a rubber band pass through her system... it doesn't take a genius to know that a cats stomach acid is strong enough to break down a rubber band. I can't believe the unprofessional level this place has. However, if you like to watch your cats have a panic attack while they are manhandled by a strange man who obviously does not care for their well-being and then be charged over $1,000 for the visit. The reason they are available on short notice is because other pet owners, through tragedy, have learned to choose another veterinarian for their needs. Dr. Schwartz is quite possibly the least competent and caring veterinarian in Los Angeles. He failed to diagnose our dog's cancer despite expensive labs and x-rays which both clearly indicated a large mass growing on her spleen. Six months later, we decided to see a different vet and they were able to diagnose her cancer from the old x-rays/labs as well as the new ones taken. We are beside ourselves with grief and rage. If treated earlier, our beloved Maya would have had more time. So let me be clear: Dr. Schwartz needs to retire. He is a jaded, irritable old man with nothing left to offer patients but a withered conscience. Please, give your pet the right care and go with anyone but this clinic. read more

Never, ever, again. Took my friend's family dog in there and was met with an unfriendly receptionist and Dr. Schwartz had TERRIBLE bedside manners and was very impatient. I was taking in my friend's dog and he had zero time to explain to me what was going on and what they were doing to him. I asked questions (to relay info back to my friend) and he just rushed through like he couldn't WAIT to get me out of their office. I have never met a more unfriendly vet. I am appauled at how the doctor, the infamous "Dr. David" treats his patients and their owners... try asking him anything, and he will talk to you like you're 4. He is not friendly and does not care. My dog had his balls removed here and of course he had the most expensive procedure leaving us $450 in the hole... not only did it cost an arm and a leg, the guy leaves sutures in our dog's abdomen region, creating infection and swelling. We had to return to have the problem corrected, but repeatedly told us "they didn't have time for it" I was in tears to hear that a place I had been taking my pet did not only want to correct their mistake and in addition to this nonsense, they requested more money for meds to treat the infection that they caused. This is my first "rant" review. Here goes... Dr. David is a d%#! The only reason that my girlfriend and I took our dog here was because the breader had recommended. What a mistake. Try having a conversation with the doctor. I dare you. He is condescending and treats very normal questions with answers that have the tone of "duh, what an idiot for asking". We paid the $45 first time visit. We brought our dog back to have his ____'s snipped: $450. Apparently one of his balls hadn't dropped. We brought him back to have his sutures removed... we were told that everything was healing fine but the good doctor neglected to remove one of the sutures. We realized this when all of the incision areas were healing except for one. When I took him back to have the suture removed the doctor didn't apologize or come out to speak with me at all. He sent an employee who whisked my dog away and then stuck me with a bill for some medicine to heal the now inflamed area. I let the girl at the reception know that the doctor was responsible for the inflammation and should be responsible for the medication. I'm grateful for yelp. Its taken this web site to open my eyes as to the care I'm providing for Orson. Boulevard Pet Clinic was recommended to me over 6 years ago and that Dr. Shwartz was, although not a great people person, did care a lot about pets. I was willing to set aside his lack of people skills and higher prices, for Orsons continued health. It was this last visit that really that had me start questioning his business practices. First, it was the $55 office visit, $50 to wash Orson's ears, $20 for ear medication, etc. By the time I left there I had spent over $160. To make matters worse, my last question to him was regarding Flea medicines and why they didn't seem to solve that problem. He snapped at me and said it was my environment. If I ask my doctor a question I expect advice not to be maligned or responded to in a condensending matter. I went back two months later for a refill on ear ointment medicine that Orson has been on since he was puppy, and was told to make an appointment to have another examination. Orson has narrow ear canals and probably always will, unless some freak of nature event happens, so why would I need to spend another $55 for an office visit and another $50 for an ear flush, just to get another refill of the ointment (at another $35). Also, sometime back, he froze my refills so I could no longer buy the ointment from 1-800-Pet-Meds. I was schocked to read the reviews on here not ever knowing that other people were also being treated horribly by this con man. Thank you yelp. I'm ready to find a new vet. read more

THIS PLACE DESERVES ZERO STARS! This place is a SCAM house. CROOKS!!!! Our first experience with the clinic was when we took our 6mo old maltipoo to get him neutered. After the procedure, we found one of the suture still in place. We went back and they were very cold. They eventually took it out, but the area was inflamed and they did nothing to help our poor little dog out. Our second experience was for a checkup. Our adoption place (Smashface rescue) gave us a coupon for a free checkup. So we went in and saw Dr. Schwartz. He asked if there seemed to be any problems. We said that he's been biting, scratching himself which led to bald spots. Immediately, he began running tests on our little buddy without even telling us what he was doing. He knew we came in for our free pet checkup, yet he stuck our dog with an allergy shot. He ran more tests and even prescribed us allergy pills. HOW COULD HE JUST START TREATING OUR PET WITHOUT EVEN CONSULTING US AND ASKING FOR OUR CONSENT?!?!?! HOW COULD HE JUST START TREATING OUR PET WITHOUT EVEN CONSULTING US AND ASKING FOR OUR CONSENT?!?!?! HOW COULD HE JUST START TREATING OUR PET WITHOUT EVEN CONSULTING US AND ASKING FOR OUR CONSENT?!?!?! This is NOT how you do business. In the end, we got charged about $270, which included a checkup fee. WTF?! We argued that our coupon stated a free checkup. They said that it only was valid for the first month and that our contract with the adoption agency stated this. They even called the adoption place in front of us and asked if they remembered us. COMPLETE LACK OF FAITH! We even looked over our contract and there was no statement saying that our free checkup was valid only during the first month. LIES. We then argued that we did not ask for all the treatment. Their response was that it was our fault because we did not ask what was going on. ARE YOU SERIOUS?! How the hell are we supposed to know whether the tests are part of the free checkup or not if they didnt consult us? To make things even worse, they insulted our love and affection for our little dog by saying, "Aren't you going to treat him anyway if there's a problem?" Where do I even start? I guess in an effort to keep myself from getting even more angry, I can first say that the staff (DOCTOR EXCLUDED) was very friendly and seemed to empathize with our situation, as i suspect they think he's as much of an incompetent hack as I do. Anyway, three weeks ago little Stew, started acting very odd and irritable. We took him to Blvd Pet Clinic, where we had been once before, and weren't happy with, but cared more about figuring out what was wrong. Dr. S came in and examined him, after poking and pushing on his lower back for a few minutes, determined without listening to the symptoms, he had probably hurt himself and suggested an x-ray ($$$). The x-ray showed nothing, but still he decided to prescribe stew pain medication ($$). A little over a week later we noticed his attitude still hadn't changed. However, he had developed pretty heavy, uncontrolled drips EVERYWHERE (sorry, i know its gross, seriously, i cleaned it up). The next day i came back from class to find a bathroom floor completely soiled with drips and this time, blood... I immediately called the clinic and took Stew back. This time, without my bf, who pays the vet bills. During this time i got in touch with a friend of my bf's who is a vet tech out of state, and described Stews symptoms. She gave me advice on the tests that needed to be run first. At this point, we already suspected Dr. S was sketchy with over-testing for profit. So once in the examining room, I explained that all procedures had to be okayed by my bf before they could be done. I asked for a simple direct and smear ($) first. The doctor came back, no results. So then it was a blood test ($$$). The doctor came in and explained that Stew had low sodium and low platelet count and would need an IV of fluid ($$) and a catheter ($$) to rehydrate. He also said the platelet count should be retested at a different lab ($$$) to rule out... wait for it... first real diagnosis ever: AUTO-IMMUE DISEASE. We agreed to it all, worried about Stew's health. After the IV, i took Stew home. After 30 minutes he began to leak uncontrollably, and once i finally got him outside, began bleeding anally. Freaked out, i called our vet-tech friend again as i started searching around for what could be causing all of this bloody mess. Finally, looking under the couch at Stew's bed i found what appeared to be seeds scattered all over Stew's bed. Of course, to my dismay, the seeds i had in my hand were not seeds, but dead tapeworms that had fallen from Stew's little starfish. I immediately called the clinic and demanded that there be a syringe of tapeworm medication (FREE, darn straight) ready as soon as i got there. MY ISSUES: 1. i had to diagnose the problem myself, untrained and only equipped with google and vet tech 2500 miles away. 2. I had to make two trips to the valley in one day for something that should have been a consideration from the start. I asked for a smear ($40) which could very well have determined what was wrong, but of course Dr. S didn't listen and ran a different irrelevant poo test. 2. Over $600 in two weeks charged on my bf credit card for nothing but blood thinning pain meds that very well could have caused his low platelet count and bleeding button(or auto-immune as the Dr. would call it.) 3. But worst of all, if Dr.D*!%$e was really concerned about Stew's health he would have considered something initially simple, instead of wishing for auto-immune disease( $$$$$$), and Stew wouldn't have developed such a bad case of tapeworm. ITS THIS VET MALPRACTICE THAT IS THE MAIN REASON POOR STEW WAS SO INCREDIBLY MISERABLE FOR TWO WEEKS AND FRANKLY, COULD HAVE DIED! read more

I had been bringing my dog to Dr. Schwartz for a couple of years. I had been happy with my experience. My dog, 5 years of age, had gotten a yeast infection, according to Dr. Schwartz, in his paws. They had swelled up and he could no longer put any pressure on his two front paws. The clinic prescribed an anti-inflamatory. I took my dog home, and a couple of days later had to leave for the long weekend to go to my cousins wedding. The Blvd Pet clinic took him for the weekend. When I picked him up on Monday, he seemed ok except he would not take the medicine. The next day he seemed a bit tired but nothing unusual. That night, he collapsed. It was late and I had to rush him to the VCA emergency room. The next day, he was in surgery because the medicine that the Boulevard Pet Clinic prescribed burnt a whole in his stomach. A week later, after two major surgeries my dog passed away in his sleep, still in the hospital. I was told, off the record, that my dog passed because of the medicine he was given for the yeast infection. I did some research and found out that the medicine had a history of giving animals trouble. I contacted the pharmaceutical company and they reimbursed me a very small amount. I called Dr. Schwartz's office to let them know what happened. Not looking for any compensation, but just thought they should know how their actions resulted in my dog's death. To this day, years later, I have heard even received an apology from Dr. Schwartz. read more

I brought my senior cat in with a blood splotch in the clear part of his eye, and the hack called Schwartz couldn't find anything wrong with him after $460+ worth of tests and numerous office visits. I still wonder to this day if he ever ran the labs or just charged me for it. I spent weeks going back and forth with him and took valuable time off my pet's life. Out of frustration, I went down the street to Dr. Flanagan at Studio City Animal Hospital and was given the correct diagnosis a day after they ran tests: feline hypertension and kidney failure. It was too late to save much of my cat's eyesight, but since I had a REAL vet on board, my cat went on fluid therapy and has had a good quality of life for the past several months. I don't slam people lightly, but I'm still furious at the gross incompetance shown by Schwartz. read more

I can't believe all the negative reviews on this site. Jeez. I guess I've been visiting Blvd. on good days. Dr. Shwartz has been our vet for over 7 years now. He really knows his stuff. He's looked over all our cats and dogs and has been great w/each and every one of them. When our Frenchie got bit by a rattlesnake, he quickly took care of matters quickly got her back on her feet although it did cost us pretty penny. His rates are a bit high but he's still been cheaper than VCA who I've contacted several times to compare pricing on various procedures. If you are worried about medical bills, it comes w/the territory of having an animal. Best bet is to get pet insurance. Also, everyone's complaining the he's not a people person but I could give a rat's a**. I'm there to have him help my animals. Not make small talk. Anyway, I've honestly never really met a super friendly vet. And if there was one, they'd be smiling you all the way out the door as they were robbing you blind. It's LA, people. We have since moved further away but I still trek all the way to Studio City because I trust Dr. Shwartz. His staff have always been professional, friendly, and quick to get me an appointment if needed. Also, it's convenient that he's open on Saturdays. When it comes to working with and reviewing a vet, it gets really personal. And since the patient can't participate as clearly (to some), we're all going off of instincts and a few facts. So here's the down and dirty of why I don't much like BPC: -First exam of our newly adopted dog was less-than-thorough. Teeth weren't looked at and we were rushed out. -All of our diagnosis from this visit were exactly like the ones we've read on Yelp. Coincidence? or maybe laziness. Yes, there are commonalities amongst species, but seriously? Not my first rescue and I smell...anal glands (dog speak for "bs"). -Bedside manor leaves much to be desired, but I don't mind that, so long as my dog is taken care of. However, when every ailment is cured by a product I have to buy at the front desk, again...anal glands. -The follow-up exams were because of a chronic ear infection and the last visit required an ear flushing, (which cost $300!?!?). Turns out, she has a middle-ear infection and only drainage under sedation will cure it. Thank you NEW vet (who won't be making money off that surgery, btw) We've since found another vet (see other reviews of mine) and are so grateful that BPC is no longer on our girl's path to wellness. Especially since she was put on medication she didn't need (blood pressure), and the chronic ailments she's been dealing with are because she needs surgeries (ACL & middle-ear drainage), not products at the front desk. (side note, we're not a surgery-happy family, so trust me, this decision isn't being taken lightly) I will say, though, the technicians were very sweet. read more

I was able to get more information and help with my senior Pomeranian in 1 visit that 4 years of visits w my previous vet. I have a champion Great Dane who has seen the best vets in the nation and I feel very lucky to have been referred to Dr Schwartz and his team. Having someone I feel good about hasn't happened since moving to a California and again it is just such a relief knowing your baby is in good hands. I will no longer take my pets to this horrible clinic! I took our 2 yr old Poodle mix yesterday because she had been vomiting & not eating or drinking all day. Dr. Schwartz took an x-ray with barium contrast and gave her an IV for fluids. The preliminary diagnosis was a possible obstruction with only surgery to find it. I asked for an alternative & was told I could take her to Animal Special Group hospital in the Los Feliz area for an endoscopy (which I did). All told, it was $738 at the clinic for this 2 hour exam & the tests!! The worse part of this visit was when the doctor tried to take my dog's temperature without preliminarily handling her to warn her. When he inserted the thermometer into her anus, she was caught by surprise & jumped right off the table to the floor striking her head on the cabinet on the way down!! Dr. Schwartz never acknowledged the gross error, never tried to pick up my dog, nor did the handler in the room. I did! And, of course, no apology for causing more injury to my dog. The front desk person is a creepy youngish woman who was watching an FX-rated channel on TV & laughing uproariously at the crude jokes. She had the volume up loud even when calls came in. She is loud & completely unprofessional. Fair warning if you take your pet to this clinic - get your checkbook out and be ready for the strange woman at the front desk & abrupt service from the doctor. read more

I've been coming here since the day I adopted my Spikey-poo, because Dr. Schwartz does free first exams for adoptees from Smashface Rescue. He was kind and patient, but not super personable. However, I've continued to come back because the staff here is beyond amazing, especially Roberto. I seriously love that guy. He goes above and beyond to make us feel welcome and cared for, and often personally watches Spike when I have to leave him for appointments. They walk the dogs that have to stay for the day and you can just tell they really care about their animals, which is more than I can say for certain doggy daycares that may or may not be right down the street. Also, this place is not all about the money by any means, unlike some other vet clinics. Their prices are more than reasonable, especially for vaccines and routine medications. Because my dog was a rescue, his neutering was only $100 flat and we never had any complications. Also, when Spike had to come in for a routine vaccination a few months ago, the Dr. noticed that he had a mild ear infection and prescribed medicine for me to take home right away. That put my mind at ease to know that he cares about the well-being of your pets, even if he doesn't always show his warm and fuzzy side. Have been bringing our dog here since we brought her home 2+ years ago and could not be happier. Doctor Schwartz and all the staff have been nothing but professional and caring each and every time we've been in, and have taken excellent care of our girl. They have even let us bring her in for an emergency stomach pumping well after hours. The doctor's primary focus is the animal, not the pet parents, and that's the way we like it. The staff are always friendly and very helpful, and we are baffled by the poor ratings on here. We'll continue feeling confident bringing our dog here, knowing she'll continue to receive excellent care. read more

Took my 6 week old kitten to this veterinary clinic on May 27th 2016 as soon as I got her. She had some diarrhea. As soon as the doctor walked into my room he was very rushed, did not inform me of anything that he was doing and did not take the time with my kitten. I asked if he performed a fecal on her and he said yes and that he did not see anything on it, which i found very odd due to the fact that it had only been 2 minutes since he collected a poop sample and fecal takes 10 minutes to set up plus time to look at it under the microscope. One month later I took her to VCA Animal Hospital and she was DIAGNOSED WITH A PARASITIC ROUNDWORM INFECTION that is infectious to HUMANS. So thanks Boulevard Pet Clinic for charging me 56 dollars for a fecal you did not even perform and then putting me at risk and my whole family for a roundworm infection because I was stupid enough to take your word. read more

I've been going to this Vet for years. He has always been great with my dog and helps me keep him up to date with all that he needs. I have full confidence in him and his staff. So the reason for all the negative reviews is that this guy is a complete and utter jerk! Took my cat to him. He was so cold and didn't seem to care a bit about anything except his quick diagnosis and all the tests he wanted to run. Told me my cat had hyperthyroidism. Put him on meds. Charged me like $30 for 90 pills. Looked at me with disgust when I said I couldn't afford the huge battery of tests he still wanted to run. Then when I had to refill the pills, they charged me $180 . Couldn't explain to me why they were so cheap the first time nor did they care. Today I went back to refill the pills and the lady told me they are refusing service to me. COULDNT TELL ME A REASON WHY. Met the guy only the one time. First when I asked for refill today they told me they didn't carry the med anymore. DO NOT GO HERE. I have been a pet owner most of my life, and I would never go back to this place because I love my animals. First thing to note- even the front desk people who were not friendly or helpful ADMITTED that they've had tons of complaints about how rude and unfriendly Dr. David Schwartz is. THEY ADMITTED THAT upon myself and another pet owner both standing up there to let them know about our bad experiences. Here's how it went down. I brought a rescue dog in to be neutered and get his shots. The receptionists are not friendly and didn't have a clue what I was talking about when I came in, despite us having an appointment set up via the owner of the rescue group. Once it was cleared up, I dropped the dog off and knew I wouldn't hear anything for hours, but when I called six hours later, he was totally ready to be picked up (for how long who knows) but they hadn't called to let me know- every vet I've ever gone to calls immediately when my pet has had to have any procedures or shots of any kind done to get them home to their owners, these people couldn't care less. The doctor! Holy cow. He was rude, short, and gruff and barely answered the questions I had. The one I have to repeat though is this: Upon me asking if the doctor could tell what kind of mix he might be based on his body shape, he paused as he looked at him and me, shook his head and said, "corgi maybe, something really squatty I don't know," handed me the paperwork and scoffed. ????!!!???? Terrible. I would never trust this place with a pet again. I also have to comment again that the other patron there with a dog was trying to tell the front desk how awful the doctor was with her as well, so I know this wasn't the first time. read more

My dogs have been going to Dr. Schwartz for 8 years. He's direct, communicative and the clinic's prices are very reasonable. Whenever there's a question about a treatment or procedure, the doctor or one of his staff always gives me a call first. read more

I have been to a number of vets and with my experience I have found that the Boulevard Pet Clinic is precise and to the point. Something I look for in a vet. No beating around the bush. You wont get your soft mushy stuff here but you will get answers you need and proper treatment for your pet. I have never had anything but great service here and any problems with my pets health has always been resolved. Its a bit pricey but it's worth it to me. This is the first vet I have found that always gets the job taken care of and I know my pets are in good hands here. read more

What an incredible experience. Dr. Schwartz was very attentive and patient with all my questions and concerns that I had regarding my pooch. His bedside manner was surprisingly kind and comforting, after reading all these reviews... not sure what these weirdos on yelp are talking about.
