I'm really glad that I decided to stop in today. The place looks a little rundown but the food is SO FRESH AND DELICIOUS!! I had the chicken gyro and an order of dolmas. Yum! I'm definitely going to be coming back for more. I was able to place my order over the phone and just went in to pick up so this is perfect for a quick lunch run. The lunch specials are such a good deal! Lunch for two didn't even cost $20!!!! And the food is good. Service was great, the gentleman was polite and helpful. Both of us got a Gyro. I got the lamb and my hubby got the chicken. There was plenty of meat and the right amount of yogurt sauce. It was flavorful and perfectly cooked. I got the side salad and my hubby got fries and it was great, my salad was freshly cut, plenty of feta and (no olives please) and I was accommodated! They earned points for that one. We will be back. I was mildly surprised when we walked in. The place was much cleaner and well appointed than I had expected. The person behind the counter was friendly and helpful. Made the process of ordering for the first time much easier than I expected. You've met them. The clowns think that if you unsure of what is in the dish you should leave and get an education before you come back. The food itself was quite good. The portions of ingredients in the Chicken Gyro was perfect. They are so huge that stuff falls out when you pick it up. My only gripe was for the fries. Small hidden place in bountiful, most certainly compares well and even better than other Greek restaurants in salt lake valley. Prices and portions are proportionate. Gyro is delicious and not greasy. Grilled chicken was also good . No! No! And No!!! Yelp needs to incorporate ZERO stars ASAP!!! I stopped in to try this place and to support local business. This place is so off the mark it's ridiculous. It is absolutely the worst experience for Greek food that I've ever had. The gyro "platter" is more like a bacon bit gyro meat platter. It is dry, thin, overcooked and an absolute joke of a portion. The yellow rice is overcooked and bland. The salad is bitter. The chicken skewer was supposed to be an additional gyro plate with extra rice and no salad but I was give a chicken skewer with only salad instead. The salmon burger was literally slimy and gooey from the moisture on the bun. The baklava was dried and stale tasting. The dolmas were completely overcooked and mushy. The hummus was floating in oil. They initially forgot my hummus side and I had to go back for it. When I called to tell them the issues with my gyro platter being incorrect they told me basically that I was wrong. My lunch break was over, so I couldn't return to the restaurant right away. I was told if I didn't bring the food back now that they would do nothing about my $45 lunch meal! And YES!!! This was $45!!! Like I said RIDICULOUS!!! And the $45 price tag didn't include drinks, only food. You got my money this time, but you won't get one red penny from me in the future! Double Cabob platter and Greek Burger with 2 cans soda $21. Greek Burger is mix of beef, lamb & pork with feta and a red wine sauce. The burger is a stellar entrée and the best item on the menu. The flavors are bold without being over powering and portions are on the generous side of average. Shrimp and lamb cabobs were cooked and seaaoned well.  Lemon rice was tasty, but the baked potato side was quite heavy, and didnt blend with the other textures on plate. The french fries on the other hand were excellent.   Simple prep and seasong made an excellent side to the burger.   The rice chicken soup utilized the same seasoning as the rice side (that was part of my cabob combo) to great effect.  Again, the flavors were not bland in this creamy soup. The biggest failing was the drink options.  12oz cans of soda.  There was a decent variety and anytime my favorite flavor (Diet Dr. Pepper) is available I'm happy for that.  But with bolder flavors and larger portions,  I really needed more liquid with my meal. read more

I wanted this business to do well because we love and know Greek food. The food they serve is not authentic. Some preparations and spices are not considered Greek by any standard, although we love them with Latino foods. Example: Why put chipotle in Greek food? Also, the Dolmas, grapevine leaves stuffed with seasoned rice, came straight from the can you can buy at Costco or grocery stores. I expect authentic homemade for $1/piece. And you can buy the gyro meat at Costco, too. I give them stars for service, although the lunch hour makes the wait time longer. read more

I've only been here once, but that was enough. I ordered a Burger with fries.The fries were crisp and seasoned well. I liked that the Burger came on ciabatta bread. But that was all I liked about the Burger. The meat itself tasted as though it had lived in a freezer for a very long time. The service was fine it's one of those joints Where you Go up to the counter and place the order, then they bring it to your table when it's finished. The thing about this restaurant that bothered me the most common is that they have a beverage refrigerator in the front of the restaurant that contains bottled sodas erc.in the top half. Then in the bottom half they store foodstuffs for the Restaurant. I happen to know that this type of refrigeration unit is not designed or approved for the storage of food. In the view of the local health department. Only for bottled beverages. Over all the service was good while the food was not so much. I personally would not choose to eat here in the future because I'm not concerned about my health. read more

Great little place. I haven't experimented too much with the menu but I'm a gyro guy and they make a very good one. In fact, I almost always go with lamb but tried the chicken a couple weeks ago and it was fantastic, best chicken gyro I have had. Nice, friendly service and the food comes out fresh and hot. We eat here very frequently and the food is consistently delicious and fresh. They moved to their new location which is really nice and spacious. Recently we made a mistake with what we ordered and only noticed when we got home. We called and re-ordered with every intention of paying for it. We went to pay since it was our mistake and he told us "We all make mistakes" and insisted that they make it right. I was just so impressed by thie way he handled it. We went in around 7pm and didn't have to wait in a line cause they were close to closing for the night. The guy was really nice and pulled out a picture book of the different food platters to help us decide. I ordered the lamb gyro pita. The guy brought the food out and was very polite as he delivered them to our table. I thought there was a good combination of meat, tzatziki sauce and veggies in my pita. I didn't actually get to see the place as I sent my fiancé to grab some food for us and we wanted to try out something new. He went in and said the atmosphere was nice and the staff were all really friendly. He ordered the lamb gyro platter with fries and he said the lamb was cooked well and he really loved the tzaziki sauce on the gyro. The fries are made fresh in house and you can tell by their shape. I shared then with him and although they were droopy and soggy they still tasted really good especially with the fry sauce. I ordered the Chicken gyro platter with the salad (so we could split the fries and salad between us and be a little healthy lol). Within seconds of my first bite I wanted to devour it. I was surprised to see that it was more of a yellow chicken (I assume frying the seasoning) rather than just a plain grilled chicken, but it was spectacular. And I agree with my fiancé that the tzaziki sauce just made the whole gyro come together. I usually have a hard time eating the chicken gyros at most places because they put huge chunks of chicken in the pita but these guys made the pieces bite size so you could get a piece of chicken in every bite without the whole thing falling apart. The salad was bare bones with just a few pieces of cucumber and tomato with the large amount of iceberg lettuce, but it was still delicious and the ingredients tasted fresh. And the dressing was light and simple yet flavorful. Excited to have a delicious local Greek spot to go to that isn't a chain. Coming from Astoria, it's hard to find food that can compare but this spot came pretty dang close! read more

With slight apprehension, my husband and I tried this new Greek spot in Bountiful. My first impressions were not the best. It's very small, seating about 20 people. It feels gloomy and dingy. The lack if a soda fountain with canned soda instead is always a red flag. The menu is very small, but has what you want from a Greek restaurant. I ordered a lamb gyro plate (there is the option of chicken instead of lamb) and my husband ordered the 2 kabob plate, lamb and chicken. There were a couple other patrons waiting for their to-go orders, so we waited about 10 minutes for our food. A pain when you have three small kids, but it's nice to have your food made fresh to order. I can put up with dingy restaurant interiors when food tastes this good. My gyro was awesome. The fries were homemade. Bonus! My husbands kabobs were both delicious. The chicken in particular has an awesome seasoning on it. My husband's plate came with lemon rice, and some kind of potato dish, both were excellent. I didn't care for the salad that was on both of our plates. Standard iceberg lettuce, and a few veggies. I didn't like the salad dressing but my husband loved it. We will definitely go again. I want to try the burger. I hope they get a soda fountain, and I hope they do well. The location seems doomed to failure as nothing survives long. I hope this isn't the case for Bountiful Greek Cafe. Edited to add: I went back last week and they have a soda fountain! Wow! I LOVE Greek food and so I've tried quite a few in Utah but this one taked the cake!! I stopped in here because I have 2 hours to burn and was expecting a bit of a wait, but boy was I wrong! I arrived around 215pm, ordered my food, and used the restroom. The employee at the register greeted me with a warm smile and an eagerness to serve. He assisted me with my Samsung pay with ease and knew exactly what he was doing - LOVE THAT. The restroom was clean and spacious (1 stall room) and had nice smelling soap, my favorite. By the time I was done in the restroom (about 5 minutes) my food was ready and bagged, unbelievable! I chose outside seating to enjoy the fresh air and beautiful view of main street and opened my prize : a fresh, delicious looking lunch, not too complicated and perfectly packaged for on the go eating. I got the lamb Gyro only tzatziki sauce with lemon rice and a bottled water, easy. I was given a proportional amount of sauce and meat. The rice, sauce, and meat were seasoned well but balanced -- VERY SATISFYING for the palate! I will be back EVERYTIME I'm in town and it's a MUST for the family! Thanks yall!! read more
