With one of the owners of Bounty XP. Thank you so much! We had a wonderful time.

A place to go and play a variety of video games with other people who share your interest???! WHAT?! I got an exclusive invite to check out this gaming shop before its soft opening this upcoming weekend. Bounty XP game center offers many games on different game consoles (Playstation 4, Nintendo Switch, etc). There are super comfortable seatings at whatever station you choose. OMG...did I mention they have VR? I have never experienced virtual reality before and WOW, it is super badasssss!! Soooo impressed with this brand new technology. Like other systems, them offer various games on the VR. I recommend the musical ones if you're looking for that summer workout. LOL my little boys loved the "Job Simulator" game. It's super cute and easy to navigate. Long tables are available for card games and tournaments such as Yu-Gi-Oh and Pokémon. They do sell candies and drinks for the gamers who like to snack (...all of us). They also sell collector's items like cards and even Pop Funko. They even have their own unique collectibles with designs by various artists! The owners are all SUPER sweet, friendly, and very eager to assist. They genuinely care about providing a safe and fun environment for all their guests. I felt very welcomed here even though I'm not super tech savvy. I had no problem getting the help I needed. So whether you're extremely into gaming, curious about certain ones, or just trying to kill some time, I'd highly recommend checking this place out. The corner plaza is very easy to find. They have plenty of parking spaces in the private lot. The rates are extremely reasonable. The set up of the place is really comfortable. People of all ages would enjoy this game center.

Never Again -- Completely Mishandled Nintendo Switch 2 Launch…read more We showed up at this GameStop today for the Nintendo Switch 2 release party, per the official GameStop email instructions. According to that, the event started at 3 PM, with pick-up for pre-orders beginning at 9 PM Pacific Time, and the potential to purchase a console without a pre-order if you arrived early enough to line up before the 3 PM event. We got there before noon to be proactive and were immediately concerned that no one else was around -- no signage, no excitement, and no staff outside. When the store opened, the clerk flatly told us, "If you don't have a pre-order, come back at 9." I mentioned the email instructions clearly said otherwise, and he just shrugged and told me to call back at 3 to "see if they had any." We decided to call another GameStop about 15 minutes away, and they were shocked -- they confirmed what we read in the email and even mentioned that they know this particular clerk and that he's done this before. A look at past Yelp reviews confirms this location has a pattern of misinformation and poor handling of release events. And the fact that nobody else was there at the store lined up means he's been telling everybody this over the phone if people have called asking questions. At some point, management needs to step in -- either retrain or replace this employee. Events like this are supposed to be fun and exciting, not confusing and dismissive. Because of this experience, we will never shop at this location, even though it's around the corner from us. We'd rather drive the extra 15 minutes to the other store that actually understands customer service and follows company protocols. Avoid this location if you're expecting any kind of organized event or competent communication.

If you value your time and money, think twice before coming here to sell. In the past I've sold at…read morethe Folsom location, where I've had good experiences, but decided to try the Elk Grove location today and had a terrible experience. I called ahead to make sure they were actively buying and to gauge interest before taking the time to load everything up and make the drive over. The employee assured me I would not have any issues and to just come on by. Upon arrival the first employee was friendly, polite, and helpful. I explained that I was there to sell and had also brought in several LEGO collectors items that I planned to include as part of the deal at no extra cost, as a show of good faith. I had brought in roughly a dozen sets worth several hundred dollars to sell so it took around 20 minutes to perform the appraisal, but once done he gave me a price and explained the evaluation of each set. Whenever I sell at a store I expect to sell for much less than I do when I sell direct to consumer myself, but I'm willing to make that trade-off for the convenience of dealing in person and in bulk; however, the prices I was offered here ranged from low to outright laughable (up to 60% less than historical sales values online). While the prices were bad I was still willing to make a sale in order to save myself time. I asked for additional details about their evaluations, which the employee happily provided, and told them I wanted to take a few minutes to review the offer and perform due diligence before deciding how I wanted to proceed. It was at this point that things went from bad to worse. As I was reviewing the numbers, another employee came out from the back and immediately started making comments (ostensibly to his coworker, but very much audible to me) about how the first employee had offered too much on set X, that set Y wouldn't sell for very much, that they had too many of set Z, etc. After a minute or two of that, the first employee went on break. The second employee then proceeded to start asking me questions that made me feel pressured, like if I was ready or what I was looking up. I started to feel uncomfortable and asked if I was holding him up or anything, as he seemed annoyed, but he reassured me that they were open for several more hours and that I could take my time. I went back to looking up information online and a moment later the second employee said that he was rescinding the offer and that they were no longer interested in buying anything. This totally took me by surprise, as at this point I had not even made a single comment about their offer or attempted to negotiate -- I had just been asking questions and looking up information. It was abundantly clear to me that the employee was attempting to pressure me into accepting a bad deal, so I knew I should cut my losses and leave. Out of curiosity I asked why they had changed their mind. The employee said that they had a warehouse full of such sets and that they didn't need more. If that was the case, they could have told me so on the phone when I initially called to find out as much. He then made one more offer (for $100 less than the already bad initial offer), which I declined and left. The whole experience felt like a bait-and-switch -- get you in the store, then pressure you into accepting a lowball offer. I'd recommend the Folsom location or perhaps the new Bricks and Minifigs instead if you're looking to sell.
