This is a must stop place in Batavia, heck even if you're just driving through on the 90 it is worth the stop. A bit of a divey bar, but who doesn't like a divey bar? The burgers were juicy and delicious, and with such a wide variety of options of topping combinations on their menu, everyone is sure to find something to strike their fancy. Not only were the burgers delicious, but the price was awesome for a 1/2 pound burger with lots of toppings. Every single burger was between 8.99 and 10.99 including fries. You could score a plain burger for 5.99 but with so many unique topping options who would choose that? I had a hard time deciding which to get but finally settled on the Jed-Uary. This was a burger with cheddar and pot roast meat on top of it. A-MAZING! It also included a dijon-horseradish. I'm not a fan of horseradish so I asked for it without, but luckily the nice and knowledgeable waitress talked me into it, saying it wasn't as spicy as I was imagining. I got it on the side and ended up pouring it on, it had a great flavor that worked perfectly with the other toppings. My husband got a burger that had two grilled cheese sandwiches instead of buns. This place is really cool. Ambiance: Came in on a Wednesday afternoon for a quick lunch. It was moderately crowded with plenty of light coming through the windows for a bar. Service: Service was great. The servers were super quick and had great personalities. Food: Quality of food was good as well. Burger tasted really fresh and the fries were really crunchy and cooked perfectly. I ordered the signature burger with bourbon sauce with a side of fries. I was with my family on our way to Buffalo for a concert! We needed a place to stop and get dinner prior to the concert. My husband is a huge brown liquor fan so this place immediately caught my eye. The building is set up to look like a tavern. Brown woods and rustic bar. Lots of liquor options and cocktail options! Then there are the burgers. Longest list of burgers I have ever seen. I had about three different ones I wanted to try, but not the stomach for that. Only bummer was they were out of avocados so we couldn't get any of those burgers unless we omitted that. Have always heard from family that this is the place to go for a great burger. I finally came here and was impressed with the number of unique burgers they have to choose from. We started with fried green beans with the tasty boom boom sauce and the fried dill pickles. The burgers came and they were huge and piled high a bit difficult to fit into your mouth. This place is a hidden gem. We live about 40 minutes away and were made aware of the establishment by a "Local Flavor" deal. We arrived on a Thursday night around 7 and the place was fairly busy. They had 1/2 off all appetizers that night and a great assortment of choices. The burger menu was vast and it was difficult to choose! They have a great beer selection and cocktail menu for a smaller restaurant/bar. We ended up ordering deep fried green beans with a tasty aioli dip and popcorn shrimp with Thai chilli dipping sauce. We decided to share the burger and it was large, perfectly cooked and came with crispy coated steak fries. They even brought it out on two seperate plates which was a nice touch! Despite their really creative descriptions and ingredients, the burgers were so-so and didn't have the explosive flavor we were expecting. It's possible, if the meat were seasoned, they would have been tastier. Don't get me wrong, the burgers weren't by any means awful, just so-so. Finally decided to try bourbon and burger the other night. Anyone who puts burger in their name I expect to have the burger right so it's a tough review. Appetizers. Deep fried pickles, comes with spears and chips. The spears were way better. The chips had too much breading for me. But the spears had great crisp and good flavor. We got the nachos as well. Not a big fan. Meat was greasy, and when you just pour 7-11 nacho cheese sauce on top I'm out. I definitely wouldn't get them again. On to the burgers. I had really high hopes. I got the Miami. The bun was fresh, cheese and pickles were the right amount and the Dijon and mayo mix was quite good. But the burger patty really disappointed. There was no seasoning on it at all. That led to the whole burger being a little bit of a let down. I ate the left overs and added some salt and pepper and hit it on the grill for a second and it was way better. My wife got the omaha steak house and it was the same thing. The condiments and bun were spot on but the patty just let the burger down. My family got 3 different burgers: the speciality burger, bison (I think) burger, the intimidator, and I got the California burger and it was all AMAZING! Tuesday Night trivia at Bourbon is the place to be, Alex is one of the best hosts around! You can't beat the $2 select beers on Tuesdays, though sometimes you'll feel disappointment when they tell you the keg has kicked. That said, the beer selection rotates and is always interesting. But you might not be here for the beer, you may be coming in to check out their burgers or bourbon (I can't imagine why?). I can't speak to the bourbon but the variety of burgers here is incredible and creative, and if nothing on the standard list gets you, maybe try the monthly selection that is usually themed with something happening that month. However, be warned that the kitchen isn't always the fastest but your plate will be heaping with food when you do get it. read more

Our service wasn't so great, water never refilled or offered. I tried another time literally calling out, "excuse me, miss..." There were 4 tables seated and not all hers....come on! Went on a Saturday night around 5:30, and our group of 4 adults and a toddler were sat right away. We ordered a round of drinks then our food. We waited almost TWO HOURS for our food! Our waitress never came over to assure us our food was coming or came to check on us. I had to flag her down to get another round of drinks. So the caveman and I had plans to see a show at Batavia Downs and of course feeding time for him must precede this. We initially planned to eat at another popular place in town but without a reservation we were SOL. I used my very fav resource for this type of dilemma... I had a hard time picking but I went with the Empire with fresh mozzarella and a side of fries. It was great! Again, can't remember Craig's choice but I'm sure it had bacon on it...or came in some other unhealthy iteration. we had a great time with the servers... they were efficient and so fun! I've gotten Bob's Burger and the Kentucky Breakfast Burger. Both were delicious. The environment was pretty laid-back and chill. The service was good. They have a great selection of beverages. I don't drink but my wife and the other couple had some. I believe it was their flights. One was so good, I bought it for my wife not too long after!
