Stopped in for lunch after driving over 3 hours. Took 15 minutes to get drinks (just soda & beer). Asked the server if we would be able to get food and get out in 45 minutes because we had a distillery tour booked that was already paid for. She said we could if we just ordered appetizers, so we ordered fries and beer cheese. 45 minutes later the group at the table next to us that came in after us already had already received their meals, eaten them and paid. We still didn't even get our appetizers and we had to leave. Got an eyeroll when we said we had to leave. Worst service I have had in a long time. read more

So this little restaurant packs a punch! We came in on a Tuesday and it wasn't packed at all and our service was so wonderful. Our waitress had an awesome personality took pictures for us gave us plenty of recommendations on the food and cocktails. Our meals were delicious. The Kentucky beer cheese was pretty different you expect to have melted cheese and this one is more of a solid so although I was missing the runniNess of a hot cheese it was still really good. I'll definitely come back again or tell somebody who's there in the area for a bourbon tour to hit up this place when you're done. It has outdoor seating with plenty of fans around when it was warm, and a beautiful view of the river. Just all-around great restaurant. read more

The girl in the front (thin with black hair) grabbing people's tabs was so rude and had an attitude toward customers (including us). She also yelled at a little kid that was hosting. After hitting the Buffalo Trace Distillery, we decided to go grab a bite to eat. A local told us that Bourbon on Main had good food. Boy they weren't wrong! Our server Moe greeted us at the door and seated us outside in the back with a spectacular view of the River. The bourbon selection is almost overwhelming! There's at least 100 to choose from. Moe directed me to get a flight to save money and get a larger variety. I went with Jefferson's Ocean Voyage, Angel's Envy and Calumet. Moe suggested pairing the bourbon with a House Burger which was absolutely delicious!! I couldn't recommend this place any higher! Arrived during lunch service on a Wednesday. Ordered the Original Burger with fries. Requested burger well done and the fries to be "extra, extra crispy, you can't get them too done". Meal arrived and the burger was alternately pink and red on the inside. The fries were not crisp and were so undercooked that they would bend over when you picked them up. I would have said something to the waitress but no one came back to our table for about 20-25 minutes when a new server dropped off the bill. She didn't ask of anything was wrong, right , etc, just laid the bill down and walked away. Dirty tables had napkins blowing off and into the nearby river as there had been no table bussing while we were there. If you want a nice view of the river, come here. The food was amazing. Let's start with the appetizers. We had the Hot Brown Egg Rolls and the Kentucky Beer Cheese. The Egg Rolls were amazing, especially with the sarracha BBQ sauce. Bourbon on Main is a place that I'd love to recommend if it weren't for the mediocre food quality and service ware. The atmosphere is rustic and nicely decorated with old pictures of Frankfort and liquor bottles. I didn't like the country/ 70's mix, but that's just preference. The silverware is the cheapest food service grade available. Water is served in plastic solo cups- not refilled, but the server brought a whole new cup- so wasteful. The ice tea was very weak in a large bowl solo cup. The OFC burger was straight out of the food service freezer package. Just boring and perfectly formed, not $15 worth of "interesting " or even close to juicy; topped off with a hunk iceberg lettuce and a cold dry bun which fell apart after the first few mouthfuls. The mahi was very dry. For 3 sandwiches and 2 ice teas, $79 seemed very high. For these prices, I'd expect a smash burger and fish with a more careful preparation. Maybe they have bad kitchen staff right now, but I'll definitely not go back in the near future. I would have enjoyed Panera meal more for way less money. Frankfort needs high quality, local food joint in a great atmosphere! read more

Walked in and felt like an inconvenience we were there at 730 to be seated. Were told to seat ourselves on the patio so we did, no big deal. Ordered promptly and then waited 90 minutes for our food to come. Other people's orders came to our table as well as bourbon flights that were for a table across the patio. Food didn't come and staff appeared to be under the influence and no one was seen for a good 10 minutes to inquire about our order which was both sandwiches and a side of fries each. On occasion I get to come down to this cute place by the river and enjoy trivia and a cocktail with my coworkers. Previously known as "the dragon", it is now Bourbon on main or "BOM". I always have mixed feelings about this place. Sometimes the service is good, other times it can be really lacking. I know that I usually go with a party of 6 or more and I give so props for those that do know how to handle a large party. I have had the beer cheese, pretzels, burgers, fries, and most recently the crab cake po' boy. Nothing was offensive but nothing stood out either. If you are looking for bourbon, they do seem to have a fairly large selection. Wanna try pappy's? Go for it, for $30 an ounce pour which actually isn't a bad price. No real drink specials or happy hour that I am aware of. There is upstairs seating, but the air conditioning doesn't seem to make it up there. If the place it packed, it gets warmer quicker. We visited on a Wednesday night and they had a few tables going. We ordered a couple drinks and the deviled egg appetizers. They were okay. Totally understand they have to prep these in advance but we were under the impression these might have been in the fridge for a day or so. The bacon jam was a nice addition but otherwise they were pretty plain deviled eggs that had settled into the sugary run off from the bacon glaze that had coagulated to the wax paper. We had the mahi sandwich and the Kentucky hot chicken. The mahi sandwich was very plain. The tartar sauce sounded fabulous but was too little to make-up for the boring mahi. The bun was basic too. There wasn't a bite of heat to be found in the Kentucky hot sandwich. It was ordered fried but came grilled. It also lacked any complexity in its flavors. Service was disjointed and lackluster. Not sure if that is the common thread or they are suffering from lack of people who believe in employment so I hate to be to critical there. We had to ask for silverware which they were working on as everything was dirty. They forgot salad dressing for the side salad.
