Many places turned us away for dinner today. We stumbled on this place. It was a fun, chill atmosphere. Menu is small- typical bar food. I had the burger. The food took a while (about an hour), but I'd say above average. Friends stated wings were decent and the pulled pork was also above average. AND they have the good ranch- IYKYK. Also top notch music (hello pop punk 2000s). Staff was very nice too. This would be an awesome place to hang out for after dinner drinks if you're in the area! read more

I've been in here 3 times and usually I have no complaints. The last time I was in this bar the two bartenders were extremely rude to me and my girlfriend. The brunette girl wearing the Beenie wouldn't stop texting on her phone to help with service and not to mention they have some sort of a sewer issue coming from the bathroom. Great rustic atmosphere. The service is great. I enjoyed some drinks with the best pretzel (soft, chewy, and homemade!) with artichoke/jalapeño dip. Their BBQ bourbon wings fell apart with tender juiciness and were among the best I have had from my travels. Come visit them next time you are in Port Angeles! read more

Wanted to support a local business because it's a small town and that's what you should do but when you're greeted with rudeness twice before you can order then you should do what we did and just leave. Short, brunette bartender literally drove us out of there when there were only two other patrons in the place and we told her that we were new in there and had been meaning to come in for quite some time. This place was great! The drinks we ordered were two of the best drinks we've had at a bar/restaurant. I highly recommend whatever drink specials they have. The snacks we had (pretzel and wings) were also very good. The bar was clean and just had a nice feel to it. The bartender was helpful and attentive. An add-on, sounds weird, but all the staff had a nice look. Attractive young men, cleanly dressed, that looked as if they had been cast in the role of working there lol. This used to be my favorite bar. The last couple of visits the bartender was exremely rude. We went and played pool and she was in a great mood. We left and came back after an hour and her whole mood changed. Cussing at a customer who didn't do anything to warremt her treatment, slamming and almost breaking cases of alcohol, tossing glasses in sink, telling customer to shut up, telling them to leave the bar and throwing their card at them. Upon returning almost 2 weeks later, she was once again rude immediately saying "You're that dick I threw out of here!" I witnessed both encounters, and the negative treatment of said customer was extremely uncalled for. Probably will not return anymore, which is unfortunate because it really was my favorite for years. read more

Place was poppin' off with a nice little twangy country act strummin' when I was in there last Friday night. Heard the tunes blaring as I was walking back to my hotel, and couldn't resist the urge... Bourbon West opened this week and seems to be top notch right out of the gate. Just walking in the door you can tell that it has the previous establishment beat. There is a really long, really nice bar that you notice right away when you walk in and then it opens up to a refreshed interior. Behind the bar are some friendly staff that seem to know the products and menus quite well. At one point I think everyone working came by to check on us. Not in an overbearing way but just making sure we were ok. It sounds like the small bites menu will rotate a bit as will the draft beer I'm sure. Today's section was a, baked in house, fresh pretzel with your choice of dipping sauces. I chose the Sloppy Joe sauce and it didn't disappoint. The pretzel was hot and fresh and the sauce complimented it perfectly. The selection of liquor behind the bar looked top notch and pretty well thought out. Many of the selections I have at home in my cabinet so I felt right at home. I don't get to PA as often as I used to but I'll make a point of stopping by for at least a pint and to see how the new endeavor works out for the owners. We were looking for a good homemade pretzel with cheese and one of the local burger establishments recommended Bourbon West. This bar has a great atmosphere and very friendly staff. This bar has potential if they are willing to grow and learn from local feedback. It's a great space, first off. Second, in two years, this neighborhood will include a major hotel and conference center within walking distance. Gold mine! In my view, from my experience in top Portland bars, the pool table has to go. Use that space to drive more revenue with tables and drinks. I know a little bit about dollars per square feet. That pool table is a revenue-killer. By doing this, yes - that means you need to invest in more labor to have table service. The revenue generated with the extra space would more than cover the wages plus increase guest experience. Of course, this means you need the right people who love to sell and generate revenue to work this, but that is an open field. Next, eliminate the large ice cube. I know, odd request but if I'm ordering a top shelf Manhattan (hey it's all about Bourbon, right?) and it's in a glass with one large ice cube, in about two minutes my lovely Bourbon Manhattan is diluted to the point to where I can't taste my $14.00 Bourbon. Pro Tip: those of us who cherish Manhattans love ours stirred and served cold. Same with the drink specials. A Basil Hayden special with a large ice cube , in two minutes it becomes water. Ok I get it - this review reads like some pompous, know-it-all guy who has nothing else better to do. But, this town NEEDS a cool, quality bar where customers who can afford top quality cocktails and bring their professional friends. Bottom line: we need Bourbon West to succeed. read more

We showed up on a rainy Saturday afternoon after walking around Port Angeles with our dog. They accept dogs as long as they are leashed! WOOHOO! It was nice to be able to be INside with crappy weather outside and enjoy a snack (pretzel with cheese) and a few drinks inside with our pup. Bourbon west is amazing! Definitely my new favorite watering hole! I tried a Moscow mule with their signature infused vodka. Probably the best one l've ever had! And I've tried some of the new beers they have on tap. And I have not been disappointed. The pretzels are to die for! I've only tried two of the dips the salmon and the bacon blue cheese. And both of them were fabulous! I think though some people do need to realize it is a bar and not a restaurant. So if you go in and sit down they probably will not come to you and take your order. You have to order at the bar. The atmosphere is very fun! All the bartenders are very attentive and super sweet! Good selection of spirits behind the bar, and the bartenders were pretty friendly. However, getting served was tough as they did spend most of their time chatting to or serving their friends/regulars. Most worrying though was the complete lack of concern for health and safety - no masks, people crowded together talking and yelling across to each other, and some random group of people thought it was appropriate to sit next to me at an empty stool at our table/stand DIRECTLY behind us with the group at the bar, blocking us in so we couldn't get out. Whether or not you believe in COVID or masks is your prerogative, but you should have some respect for others and not sit/stand directly next to a stranger in a bar. TERRIBLE! I went here once on my birthday (7/24/21) and the bartender gave my husband the INCORRECT DEBIT CARD BACK!! for over a WEEK my husband had NO access to his checking account because They gave him a debit card with SOMEONE ELSES name!! (Same bank, same color card, everything just different name that is the same color as the card) I have called LITERALLY over 30 times since 7/24. I got ONE answer and I left my name and number so a manager could get back to me. Still NO response. no response to my email. I am EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED in the fact that no one seemed to care they gave us a complete strangers debit card!! We thought his chip was wearing out so that we would need a new card but it was actually just NOT his. We stopped In Port Angeles for the night. This is the only bar that we were able to walk right into and we were so happy the other places didn't work out! The vibe Is amazing, bartender was sooo friendly and had great recommendations for our indecisiveness. She did a great job of taking care of her regulars and us all at the same time. We got the pretzels and chips and salsa. Prices were good, and the portion sizes reflect that. If we are ever back in town we will be stopping here again. read more

I had great hopes for this to be a wonderful place. We really enjoy eating at the NextDoor Gastropub, Jake and his sister's other establishment. When this was Station 51 we went one time and were so disappointed we have never been back. I thought oh boy, Jake's taking over the predictably failed Station 51. There will be great service, quality food and a wonderful atmosphere; what a disappointment. We walked in and sat at a table. The two young bartenders saw us but continued to talk extensively to a young guy who was standing up at the bar, not eating nor drinking.They looked at us several times but neither one of them bothered to come over; in fact we were there while they served the table next to us. We sat there for 23 minutes without knowledge of our existence. We came to eat and drink; got up and left. Don't bother- Jake would be ashamed to have this place associated with his name. read more

Cool place and we were so excited to actually go to a bar after fully opening after Covid. We sat at the bar and the place has a cool vibe but..... if you aren't a familiar face to the bartenders you are treated as if you are completely invisible. There were three women behind the bar that prioritized visiting with friends, checking their phones and stuffing their faces over paying even the smallest bit of attention to other customers. We sat there with empty glasses and they didn't even look at us as they passed by many times. We finally waved someone down for a menu and then NEVER got asked if we wanted to order food. We finally gave up and asked for the check so we could go somewhere else. The check arrived and was twice the amount it should have been! We asked for the detail receipt and the bartender then used the excuse she hit the wrong button and finally brought the check for the right amount. I've been coming here for over a year and it's alway such a great experience. Almost every time I've been I've had Jaine as my bartender and she has made this place my favorite bar! She'a always so fun to be around and goes out of her way to find new a new drink I love!! Well, walking in, I am expecting to see a number of customers sipping whiskey. But, most all are drinking beer. Ok. So my friend and I ask the young woman behind the bar if we can see their whiskey list and were told, "Oh, we don't have any". Ok. So,what local whiskeys do you have? Answer. "Um, I really don't think any whiskeys are made locally". Ok. That's when a customer at the bar and I told her that actually there are quite a few. Her answer" Basil Hayden's is really good whiskey". Met a group of friends for drinks. We thought the pretzels were to die for and the different dips were fun. We drank beer and cocktails; everyone was pleased with the selection. We all loved the decor and how much more upscale it feels than the divey bars that make up most of the PA scene. The only complaint was the music being SO LOUD. It was hard to just chill with friends when we felt like we had to yell. For me it really took away from that modern, hip experience. Probably would have stayed longer but our ears needed a break. (Sometimes I wonder if I'm just getting old! Our group was a mix of guys and gals in our 20's and 30's and pretty much everyone agreed about the volume level of the music.) read more

Stumbled upon bourbon west today and had a great experience. One of the owners was on hand and struck up a conversation. Told me about the history and the chefs passion for good food.
