The food was good but the service was very slow which is accustomed to Paris . It was constantly busy and archaic with loud conversation all around..

This place is gourmet yet unpretentious. Very friendly staff who took the time to let me ask all my silly American tourist questions. Bon Appetit!

Recommended by our hotel as an authentic and inexpensive French meal and I can say it tastes authentic but not necessarily inexpensive. Our total meal was about 100 euro for 2 cocktails, 3 entrees and 2 desserts. You do definitely get your moneys worth. The food is delicious and just enough so you feel full but not weighed down. We had the pork chop, chicken and burger special along with the house wine, aperol spritz, chocolate cake and baba rum. Beware that if you order the baba rum dessert, they will pour straight rum over the bread and then leave you the bottle to add more if you wish. I loved it! Our server was so sweet but spoke limited English, luckily there were English translations on the menu. The interior is cozy and welcoming and you can tell that French people actually come here as well as maybe tourists if they are aware of it. It is next door to the casino so if you happen to be there this is a good stop for dinner. Definitely recommend if you are in the area.

My 6 year old and I had an exhausting day of walking and got back to our hotel in the early evening and just wanted a quick dinner and get to bed for an early morning champagne tour. I was out of ideas so asked our concierge at the Hotel R de Paris (INCREDIBLE PLACE) and when I asked about the 2 restaurants directly across the street he said he did not hear the best reviews from other guests. He suggested we walk 5 minutes down Rue Clichy where our hotel was and try this restaurant. We arrived around 8 and the gentleman that greeted us was very nice and I greeted him in French and asked if he spoke English, which he did. I asked if it was alright to get a table even though we didn't have a reservation. He said he could give us a table but he had a reservation already set for 9 pm. I said we would be quick. We looked over the menu and there were great choices of food and wine. Since neither my 6 year old son or I are big eaters so we split a fish dish. Damn I wish I could remember the name of it because it was HEAVEN! The vegetables were delicious, the salad was delicious, the wine the gentleman suggested to go with the fish was delicious and we devoured the entire plate! This place was so great that we went back a second time during our vacation and was greeted by the same gentleman. Again we didn't have a reservation but he was kind enough to give us another table. We were seated next to an American woman on a business trip that said this was also her 2nd time coming to the same restaurant. She ordered the beef bourguignon and even though I no longer eat meat I wanted to inhale her dish because it smelled incredible. She said she came back the 2nd time just to have it again. HIGHLY RECOMMEND but be polite and reserve a table. We happened to be there earlier than most Parisians eat dinner so they were nice.

A wonderful find for a late night dinner, well recommendation. When I travel I don't want to eat anything remotely American. I want to feel the culture inside and out the good and the bad. Though it's nice to find the good most of the time. When you walk in and it's bustling and the host pulls out an old red book and asks...do you have a reservation? Now keep in mind it's 11:00PM. All I can do is say no and ramble off with some really bad French and hope she takes pity on me...tonight I was in luck. This is a beautiful little neighborhood bistro with a gorgeous staff of four ladies. You sit down and with a smile a fresh sliced baguette, house sausage and champagne are delivered at once...so it begins. Let's start with a salad of greens, lardons and poached egg then Foie Gras de canard et chutney then tuna filet and salmon filet both with salad and vegetables then Saint-Marcellin cheese by Thierry Avisse cheesemonger and Soufflé glade au Grand Marnier. All I can say is wow! Now I would have paired the sides a bit differently on the entrees but that's just silly to mention this is a bistro anything goes. If I lived here you wouldn't be able to get rid of me...if you miss this place then you missed out on a portion of what life is all about!

This place offers everything. Service was on spot and the food was better than expected. We really appreciated the inside seating with AC and no smoking. Very memorable meal for my son and I. Highly recommend for authentic French cuisine.

It is a restaurant which is highly recommended by Parisiens and has a well-recognized cook. Therefore, you have to make reservation. If you are hungry, buy a menu (starter + main dish + desert) which is cheaper than ordering single plates. I had fois gras, entrecote and chocolat fondant. Overall, everything was tasty. The only thing I don't like much in France that the entrecote comes always with a lot of fat. The chocolat fondant is basicly a cake, indeed (not what you are used to get!). It is a very friendly place indeed and good for children, as well. Though not sure, if they had a child seat.

Near the Casino du Paris and galleries Lafayette. Great neighborhood gem. Authentic French food. We had the set menu with frog legs, escargots, chicken liver pate and fois gras. Delicious!

Throughout our trip from Provence, Basque Country and Paris, I joked that they must hate me for ordering my beef med b/c it was so much tougher compared to our beef. Anyway, it's just different. Our server spoke English fluently and was such a hoot...full of personality & joy. Per his recommendation, we ordered it med-rare b/c it continues cooking table side on the sizzling platter. We ate too much. It's a lot of food to split the cote de boeuf btn two. Comes with very good chubby fries and 3 sauces. TBH, I didn't love the sauces. Luckily we walked 6miles that day and skipped lunch. Started with a garden salad, but sadly we had no room for dessert. Reservations via email. We managed to get a 9pm reso, last minute, I bet due to a cancellation. They have 2seatings...6pm & 9pm.

Making a reservation isn't hard but you do need to email them and there's no online booking system. You also have to confirm again 1-2 days before. I understand they are small with a limited number of tables so that's fair and it seemed like everyone showed up even though they don't require a deposit. On a Friday night, it didn't appear there was much chance or walking in although there were like 2 open seats at what would have been a shared table. The menu is small and includes some typical French starters, steaks, 3 non steak entrees, cheeses, and dessert. All steaks come with potatoes, 3 sauces, salad. Service was a highlight. The waiter was personable and funny, had solid recommendations, and made sure leftovers were taken home. Also had a solid wine recommendation after asking some questions. They probably get a lot of people who don't speak French and they had no problem speaking English. The food- ordered a ribeye medium rare. The steak was so so charred on the outside and it almost ruined the whole thing. I really wish they would have charred it way less especially when it was ordered medium rare. There is seared and then there is burnt; this was sadly the latter. The steak itself was fine, honestly nowhere near the best meat I have had but the price is quite reasonable for how much you get. I would say the steak was maybe 6/10 for me, largely due to the cooking. The fries were phenomenal. Definitely a highlight and really tasty and with a great texture. Salad was good, pretty typical. I wanted to like the sauces more but found them just okay. The best by far for me was the blue cheese sauce but even this one I thought the flavors could have popped a little more. Atmosphere was fun, there were a few bigger groups (6-8 which is the biggest they accommodate) but it never got unreasonably loud. Overall I wanted to love it but was a bit disappointed even though the service and fries were both great.

We were so looking forward to the frog legs, onion soup and other delicacies pictured. We got there and the sign was just as it was with the same name -- Au Pied du Sacre Coeur. We should've noticed something was wrong when no one was inside. When the waiter (lone person working along with cook) gave us the menu, my wife and I stared at each other completely confused. The menu looked nothing like the ones on this website and featured Italian food items, like spaghetti, arroz con pollo or mozarella. I asked him about frog legs or the onion soup. He looked confused and just said no. Out of respect for him, we just ordered the charcuterie, which featured stale bread and a few slices of meat taken from my local grocery store in the U.S. Also -- they claimed to not accept any international credit cards. WHAT HAPPENED? Are all these reviews fake? Most likely, they underwent new ownership right when we visited. But new visitors -- please beware. Do not trust any of the reviews before mine. If I was mistaken, please post photos and just tell me that I was part of some elaborate joke to ruin a lunch for me and my wife.

That's not acceptable. The food, however, was. Hence my difficulty in giving one rating. Our 3 dishes tried were indeed solid. The free Cote du Rhône glass was appreciated for check-in! Our server had his head permanently at a 30 degree angle, staring at his mobile. Tis a shame. But he was friendly ( oh, and easy on the eyes). I liked the quiet location out of the chaotic fray, like up the street, with all its smoking and volume. PS This is lover's type of location. Even the dark end of the small street feels illicit!
