Bovio Good, but not great. For the past 12 years, I have wholeheartedly supported Bovio-Rubino HVAC. I participated in a commercial, and agreed to received unannounced calls from perspective clients asking about my experience with their family owned business. They had been the only company that had services my equipment for the past 12 years, and actually installed my full home AC system, system of my brother, my mother and a dear friend. I supported them like I would family. Until the merger with Rubino, they were family owned and operated, had the local family feel, and it appeared to me, were totally dedicated to superior customer service. After all- what separates any one company from another? Customer Service Late last year (December), they came out for an annual service call, and discovered there was some substantial damage to the boiler. It was very clear to me the technician who cleaned the combustion chamber during a previous service, failed to tighten all of the bolts that secured the plate to the boiler, after cleaning, to the specified torque requirements. Hot air escaped past the gasket and melted the exterior case and ignition wire plastic casing. I talked with others, explain what occurred, and they doubted Bovio- Rubino would take responsibility for it, as it was past the warranty period. They indicated they had never heard of something like that happening, however, had seen a lot of issues caused by poor technicians. I absolutely never expected Bovio- Rubino take such a contrary position about the damage. Never. It is taken me a long time to decide to write this review of the company and what i experienced. Those who know me would never believe the support and recommendations I provided about Bovio-Rubino, would actually result in this failure to even talk to me about this. I was ready and expecting that a compromise I offered would be viewed as more than fair, and it would validate what I knew- they would go above and beyond with my expectation of their dedication to customer service. Truly- I was more than surprised, i was saddened. They had a chance to go from good to great. Unfortunately their desire to overtake Hutchinson and Horizon Services who focus on customer service, has contaminated their commitment to customer service. Bovio-Rubino is good- not great. Compare thier prices to others like Johns, but do not expect anything other than standard customer service. Charges $77.44 just to come out plus another $50 for something else just to take a look at what Your problem is-well that's a red flag to Me! If You accept their price those charges go towards the parts, labor, & repairs of course-if not-You still have to pay the $77.44 (& I think that was plus tax?) Plumbers who come out w/free estimates work w/You & are much more reasonable w/their prices. I already paid another company to come out to tell Me what is wrong for $55 Diagnostic Charge. Wasn't about to pay it again. Had a licensed & insured plumber come out w/a free estimate. Fixed both problems. Didn't need a whole new toilet like the first plumber who charged Me the $55. He replaced everything inside of the tank for half the cost of the toilet. Shower head needed a diverter but not the full set, like the first company told Me! He replaced only the faucet where the water comes out for the tub to take a bath & now the shower head works fine! 1/4 the cost of a whole new diverter to get water to come out of the shower head. We have been using BOVIO for many years and we were thrilled that when we moved last year, they were still able to come to our new area to provide service. We have had only wonderful experiences with BOVIO. BOVIO Sales personnel always answer the phone promptly, they are flexible when scheduling appointments and the Service Technicians are always Prompt, Neat and Clean up after themselves. We recently had our HVAC system checked prior to Winter and John Bradley uncovered a part that was not functioning at 100%, so after he completely explained the situation to us, he recommended that we replace it now and not wait till the system just stopped! We had some issues with our toilets and our air conditioner over the summer and we were very pleased with Bovio's service. Both plumbers and the HVAC guys (we had a busy few days) were polite, on-time, and explained everything that was necessary to complete the jobs. I loved that i was able to get an appointment in a reasonable amount of time when the weather was so hot this past summer. We had a plumbing issue with our outside spigot. We called and Steve was sent to our house next day appointment available. He was super efficient and very knowledgeable. Luckily, even spotted a secondary leak and was able to fix that as well. Calling them was super easy and they had very friendly staff and the next day appointment available. All the technicians have tablets and they can quickly calculate a quote and get right to work. They were on time for their appointment and in and out in about two hours. Thanks again! read more

Tom was excellent from the start. He came in prepared beyond my expectation for our consultation. Warm and genuine from the start especially given I had just met with previous other HVAC consultants who were out to hit the jack pot!!
