Transmission went out on my 2014 Silverado 2500 company truck. I chose bow tie to rebuild the tranny. I was told it was perfect timing because they had a free lift, should take 2 to 3 days. I dropped it off Wednesday right when they were closing, Thursday I got a call at the end of the day and was told it was done! I chose to pick it up Friday morning and was shown everything that went bad. The transmission works perfect now. I will be getting a few transmissions from them for some older projects I'm working on. read more

Bowtie fit us into their schedule and rebuilt our 4L60e daily driver truck transmission, which no one else was able to. The transmission is a one off year so parts weren't available. Horrible experience with this company and their product. I bought the 700r4 for my 1991 Camaro. I followed their guidelines for install so I wouldn't void the warranty. I took it out for a test drive and found it had no 4th gear and the up-shifting was very sloppy. I called Bow-Tie Overdrive and talked to Chris. He said he had to get with the owner and he would call me back. He never did. They gave me the run-around for 2 weeks. So I ended up taking the car to a reputable trans shop in my area (Driveline Performance) and they found the valves in the valve body were stuck due to rust and pitting. They said the valve body looked like it had been sitting outside in a junk yard. I called Bow-Tie Overdrive again and asked for some help. They said the only way they would help me, is if I removed the transmission from the car and shipped it back to them at my cost and I would also have to pay to ship it back to me, as they do not cover shipping. I paid over $2,000 for this trans and it was no better than what I could have got at a junk yard. In the end I got nothing from Bow-Tie Overdrives. Not even a return phone call. Finally I gave up which I know is exactly what they were hoping for. read more

I ordered a bolt in transmission cross member for an LS1 conversion Im doing and it rocks. Really Beefy and looks like it just bolts in when I mocked it up. Nicely powdercoated, good price. Most LS after market cross members are skinny and not so beefy, but there unit is sweet. the crossmember aligned everything perfect, i had to widen two holes with a file to move it a little back, but for the most part bolt right in. Its amazing a 2000 engine, 1997 trans in a 68 firebird all bolted in that easy. These guys were also very very helpful over the phone and knew there stuff. Only negative was they sent me the wrong speed sensor for my trans, but Im sure when I call today, they'll trade it out. Thanks Chris Gardner read more

I recently dropped off my 1962 Impala SS convertible for a 700r4 swap. I had purchased the level 2 series. I even had them convert from column shift with a floor shift. While the car was there, I called and asked if they could upgrade my old stock carb for an edelbrock. They were super cool with this and didn't give me the run around. Duane did an AMAZING job on my install. It was very clean and I couldn't have asked for a better crew for the job. I'm just upset that I didn't do this swap sooner. My husband was referred to this business by a Big Bear car enthusiast who had frequented this car repair business on many occasions. I thought, personally, that it was ridiculous to drive an hour and twenty minutes to have a 1986 Blazer repaired. Boy was I wrong. I have 1964 GMC with a converted 7004R Transmission. The truck never really shifted into overdrive when I bought the truck used. Before the truck would rev high on the freeway. The Lock Up loader was installed by Bow Tie Over drives and now it runs great. These guys really know what they are doing.When speaking to other shops near me they really didn't make me comfortable they knew what they were doing or what I was talking about.. Worst experience ever the crossmember didn't fit. The transmission didn't last the test drive.. I had a transmission shop do the change over (Thank God) did the work test drove it didn't shift right. They call BTO and they sent out another valve body, when they pulled it down to change the valve body A-lot of medal and crud in the oil pan.. I PAID my Trans shop to pull it out send it back for another rebuild and PAID my trans shop to reinstall it, for THERE MISTAKE ! ! BUYERS BEWARE BE PREPARED FOR A HEADACHE ! ! ! read more

biggest piece of junk ever. i bought it for a project when we started it up it would not shift out of first gear. i brought it back to hesperia (2.5 hours away) they kept it 2 weeks and would not tell me what they did to it. i got it home and the seals were leaking. i paid aamco 350.00 to fit it. now with only 5000.00 miles on it first and reverse are going out and they want me to pay to fix it. never again!! mark read more

Not happy with transmission at all. Unfortunately the way they write there warranty requirements your usually screwed. So my tranny had sat for awhile since its a project truck. Well so far pan bolts were not torqued down so pan leaked replaced gasket and "properly torqued" . Next I find out out front seal was leaking another dam problem. All in all transmission has less than 500 miles on it and two significant problems. But once again they want to do warranty work so that's a mess. Lol. read more
