Four years ago, Miranda killed my dog. It was not intentional but it was negligent. I avoided writing a review because I didn't want to write it from a place of anger but four years later I think about this everyday and I will never get over it. I feel that it's unfair to not share my experience with others so they can make their own choices. I had 2 dogs and one was a very selective dog, meaning he didn't get along with all dogs he met. Miranda was referred to us by a friend whose dog had similar issues. When we met Miranda to see her facility, I asked her if she would be cresting the dogs when she left the building. (I asked this for a reason) she told me that if they were not crated at home, she would not crate them and they could just stay in her living space. It turns out that Miranda was crating my dogs together when she left them and that is ultimately what led to my dogs death. My selective dog could not be crated with any other dogs. If he was and anything triggered him, he would redirect onto another dog in his crate, even his brother and they would fight. This happened so Miranda came home and found that my dogs had a fight in their crate. She took the selective dog, Carson out to bathe him and ultimately left him unattended in the sink, tethered to the wall. He then tried to jump out of the sink and you can imagine the rest. We left for the weekend with 2 dogs and came back having only one. read more

I sent a lengthy email describing my cats and the people at Bow wow meow read it thoroughly I believe because my cat seemed unbothered when he returned home. He smells so good!! This hair cut made us giggle but he was pretty matted and needed the cut ! We love the care he got and everything went smooth. Marcellus is his normal self no nicks on his little chunky body at all and he looks great! Reasonable prices I'd say especially when you know your cat is capable of biting. The wait wasn't long at all we dropped off went to do some errands and when we got a call about two hours later to pick up which was perfect timing. ***STAY AWAY*** One of the most incompetent cat sitters I've ever dealt with (See snapshots below). Randi took in our 5 cats while we were on vacation for a week. On the second day, I get a call telling me that 2 of my cats had jumped out of an open window. The next day, she texts me saying that 2 of my other cats also escaped from an open window. She claimed to open the window because her "AC is not working." She did not disclose this information when we dropped our cats off. At this point, we have 4 of our cats roaming outside in an unfamiliar area. My family and I cut short our vacation and came back to Chicago and actively start looking for our cats. Instead of being helpful, she makes a plethora of excuses of why it was our fault for not informing her that they were "outdoor cats." As an "experienced" cat sitter of 12 years, she claimed that she only came to find out that cats escape. She claimed to put up posts on social media (of which I only saw one on Facebook) of our missing cats. There were no posts on the Nextdoor app or on Pawboost. The fortunate part is that her neighbors are some of the most helpful people I've met. From actively watching cameras to knocking on doors and keeping us updated, they went above and beyond for our cats. As of now a month later, 3 of our cats are still missing and there haven't been any sightings. We are actively petitioning Rover to have her removed from their platform and may also pursue legal options. I have taken my cat here twice--and the second time he did not want to come back at first lol! I love that it is a big space for him to roam freely with everything he needs, and all I have to bring is him and his food. And $30/night is very reasonable for Chicago. Felt the need to post a review after reading a previous one written. I'm new to the area and therefore had to switch groomers. I'm what you call a "helicopter dog mom", I had taken all my dogs to one groomer that I knew personally so switching to an unknown is a big deal. Mo could not have been better for my dog. You can tell she genuinely enjoys her job and caring for your pets. When I dropped my dog off, she was very anxious and didn't want me to go. Extremely incompetent at her job and overall an entitled individual with severe allergies to accountability and responsibility. Me and my family dropped off 5 cats at her place. Within a single day, she managed to lose 4/5 cats. According to her, they escaped out the window on 2 separate occasions. Miranda claims to have 12 years of experience sitting/boarding animals yet apparently has no clue that cats, when in a new environment, might try to escape through open windows (especially when there are also dogs present who frighten them). Furthermore she has no idea when they escaped exactly since she wasn't home sitting the cats like she was paid $450 to do Miranda takes no blame, of course, and spends more time texting hate messages to those who leave bad reviews than she did communicating with us regarding our lost cats. Since the very next day after we dropped our cats off at her, she was hardly responsive or communicative at all. After the cats were lost, she still made zero effort to search for them, and became even more unresponsive to us. She offered no apology or a refund, just excuses and shifting blame onto us, the cat owners who trusted her to do her job. She claims she didn't know they were outdoor cats otherwise she wouldn't have taken them.Firstly, my cats are indoor cats who only go outside a few hours a day UNDER SUPERVISION and stay within the bounds of my yard. They're fully vaccinated and regularly visit the vet for check ups. They're not feral cats the way she tries to make them sound. Secondly, I informed her the day I dropped them off that they were not to go outside at all and to be very careful of that because if they get spooked by the dogs (they're terrified of dogs) and there's an opportunity to escape, they will take it.Thirdly, she's acting as if 90% of the missing cats online aren't indoor cats who "somehow slipped out." So whether they're indoor/outdoor cats, doesn't change the fact that as a sitter you're supposed to keep them safe in a certain place. That's quite literally the point of your job. I could go on but you get the point. If you care about your pets, don't even consider this business or Miranda. read more

SIMPLY, DO NOT GO HERE. We took my dog there a couple weeks ago, and there were several issues I could tell you about, but the most alarming issue was that a product they used caused my dog to lose their appetite, become lethargic, and have their skin become irritated. Ultimately, this cost me over $200 for an emergency vet visit, and yet the owners deflected all culpability--replying in our email about the issue with "Again I am sorry for the inconvenience but it is not our fault"--and wouldn't even give a partial refund or sincere apology for the spa that cost me much more in vet costs. Oh yeah, and I also did a de-shedding treatment, but my dog is shedding the exact same amount. So all I got out of the spa was an irritated dog and an emergency vet visit. If you're looking for that in a dog spa business, look no further! I'm also really not the type to write a Yelp review. This is my first one ever. But I felt implored after my experience to warn others to please please please not put their dog through the same experience mine went through. Edit: I'm not going to do a point-by-point rebuke of the owner's response (though I certainly could), but all I think you really need to know is that there is NO BIGGER RED FLAG than a hostile owner calling customers liars when they leave negative reviews. read more

I have two older cats with dietary needs which I left specific feeding instructions to not give them a lot of dry food because one kittie cannot poop if he eats too much and the other vomits it up. My instructions were flat out IGNORED! She only gave them dry food and we spoke about it again after I was out of town. I'm sure this was so she didn't have to visit them twice daily as I paid her to do. Now the weight lost for one kittie which we worked so hard to do is back on and I found dirty laundry where the other vomited and spots all over the floor where they cleaned up more vomit. I really appreciate the good job Miranda and crew do walking my 2 big dogs. They are very flexible with appointments and I often add on a different day or time and they always accommodate my needs. They also groom my German Shepherd and do a great job with all her "hair needs". When I go away, they take care of my cats, including giving IV fluids to one of them. This is the worst pet-sitting service I've ever used in my entire life. I hired them to watch my two cats for two weeks. In that time, they cleaned the litter box zero times, killed all of my house plants by not watering them, hiked up my thermostat 10 degrees in Chicago winter without asking, and worst of all: gave two full-grown cats a single can of cat food to split, once every two days.
