Mikhail responded to the project pretty quickly via Yelp and offered to see the situation before giving us a quote on the following day. On the next day, he came over and looked at where we needed to replace the light and gave us a very reasonable quote on the spot. And I agreed to proceed with it and he removed the existing ceiling light with the new pendant light. The whole process, from discussing the quote to he setup to he completed the job (including adjusting the pendant multiple times for me to figure out the most ideal drop of the lamp in our living room) and to pack his stuff, only took 40 minutes! I appreciated his quick turnaround on this! There are always some small projects I want to try doing it myself; but now I know who to reach out if I have a complex one or when I do not know what to do even after watching multiple Youtube videos :)

I received four responses, but Mikhail was the only one who was willing to talk to me over the phone. We set up an appointment the following morning, and he was punctual. Mikhail assessed I have a ballast which required dismantling the fixture and inserting a ballast bypass tube. He did the entire job in about 25 minutes because he bought the necessary 48-inch tube beforehand. He even helped clean my dusty ceiling ventilator. Total cost was $200. Turned out to be my lucky day! Paula at Ingraham listened patiently to my circuit breaker issue and troubleshooted with me. She walked me through trying to reset different outlets and ultimately directed me back to the circuit breaker box and proposed a technique for handling the malfunctioning switch. It worked! She accomplished all this while I performed some bone-headed phone stunts! Paula has the patience of a saint and is obviously very tech-savvy! I would have happily paid for Paula's wonderful service but she insisted no payment was needed. I got a call from my tenant that the electricity in the house was only working in half of the house. I walked them through the steps to reset the circuit breakers but nothing seemed to help. It was late on a Saturday night and I called APEX Electric based on their Yelp reviews. They said they were finishing up a job but could be at the house within an hour. They called 45 minutes later and had already figured out the problem. They said the conduit providing power to the house had corroded (salty air in Pacifica). They had already put in a call to PG&E for us and PG&E repaired the electrical problem two hour later. They were prompt, efficient and professional. Thank you Apex Electric!

Not only was he prompt, honest, and very courteous, he was also extremely professional and great team! It's really rare to find this level of work ethic (and commitment to a job well done) these days.

We had a 1952 2000 Sq ft single story ranch with aluminum knob and tube. Hugo and Enrique upgraded…read morethe old wire to Romex, replaced all the dated receptacles, and switches, added recessed and art lighting, and rerouted the all the 220 V (baseboard heaters, dryer, car charger, oven) to our 200 amp main panel. He also fixed the kitchen wiring so the breakers no longer trip when we run the microwave. It took about two weeks to do the entire job. First of all, he is the neatest contractor I have ever had in my house. His tools and supples are always neatly tucked away when he leaves the job site. He covers the furniture, and vacuums up with a shop vac after every room was complete. He is very knowledgeable of how houses were made 70 years ago. I expected to have to do major patching and painting, but there were only three small holes during the entire job. Our job was also a mixed space of crawlspace and concrete slab, and he was able to rewire both spaces. His bid was very competitive and he came to the site twice prior to beginning work so that he had a good idea what we wanted. We did change some of the project midstream - we added some fans, and more outlets, so there was a reasonable adjustment to the initial bid, but that was expected. I would use his crew again in a second. I finally have my go to electrician.

Rigo did a great job with the 3 things I had done: replacing an electrical panel, replacing 2 light fixtures, and installing a smoke alarm. He was on time, knowledgable, and efficient. I don't think it is necessarily the cheapest option around but with something like this, quality and experience matters and they did a great job and handle permits and such. They did exactly what I asked them to do and were responsive over email and able to ask the exact questions they needed which made things seamless. This is not necessarily a bad thing but they could have probably done some kind of "walk through" around the place and found some additional work for me. Upselling is obviously not always a great practice but in my case, there were some things that I wish I had done and I think they could have suggested them and left it up to me to say yes/no to during the initial inspection. For example my kitchen could definitely use at least 1 additional outlet, I should have probably replaced a 3rd light, and so on. I do respect that they don't try to take you on a ride but since it is probably efficient to do things all at once, may have been helpful to discuss (this was also my bad for not noticing these things before). Rigo did a bunch of smaller things that made a big difference too like taking out the packaging for the lights and the old ones as well as the old electrical panel, clearly labeling all the switches very neatly which was not well done before, answering my questions and explaining things in a way that I (someone with little knowledge about most of this stuff) would understand.

Told us we wouldn't be charged for his time but we got a $400 bill for "diagnostics and troubleshooting." On top of this, communication was a mess. Manager called me at 6pm on a Friday and couldn't get two words together, not sure if he was high or just exhausted but it was a super unprofessional call and left me with more questions than answers. Finally got some clarity in an email, but jeez what a mess. Maybe their work quality is good, but I won't be sticking around to find out. I'll be working with someone who is more up front about their work, better at communicating, and doesn't charge so much.

He has an eye for aesthetics so gave me great ideas for a polished look for the entire house. He and his crew always arrived on time and whenever they had any questions I received a text to call. Efficient and great work! I asked for a couple of new outlets - one for a toilet that needed heating for the water and one in the closet for a printer. He was able to use existing outlets by just poking a small hole in the wall. This way the outlet is close and I don't have wires all over the floor. When all the electrical was done he walked me through with explanations and to ensure I was happy with the results. I'm happy! And he is a very nice guy. Totally trustworthy.

Jose Ruiz began work in August 2019 and as of today, February 15, 2020 has not completed the work. Every week I inquired as to when he would be completing the job. Each week I was told that he was very busy and maybe would come next week. Next week would arrive and I was given the same story week after week. I also requested an itemized bill of his work as he progressed on the job so I could make weekly or monthly payments to him. To date I have received no billing or itemized statement of any kind now seven months later. Out, I of absolute frustration I have hired a new electrician. They arrived the following day and have completed the work in two days. Jose Ruiz knows electric & does everything to code but is TOTALLY UNRELIABLE. Save yourself the grief. DO NOT HIRE!!!
