So I have to update this which was a 5 star review. Tonight half of our delivery order was correct half was not. My shrimp green curry which I've ordered at least 15 times...was clearly egg drop soup...with shrimp. Not curry. This was the first wrong order I've hard, so I tasted it but hated it. So I call back, because I didn't like it and ask for the correct item to be sent. I'm told that would happen and hang up. But then 10 minutes later...get a call back telling me that because I asked for 'spicy number 4' it made it look that way. So they wouldn't deliver the correct order nor admit mistake. SPicy tuna - its that gross tuna that is all shredded up like are you really tuna .. I cant tell the only thing you taste in the roll is the sesame seeds 5. chicken thai Salad- I am most dispointed in this item I feel tricked and had I known I wouldve ordered something else. On the menu its discribed compeltely different than what I got which was wet lettuce with cucumber with UNSEASONED chicken on top in strips. I think the sushi and the edamame were standard, nothing special, and it was simply OK. However, my curry was gross, and I have ordered the exact dish many times in other restaurants. We have ordered takeout from here several times since moving to Colorado. It is the best Chinese we've had in many years. Tonight we dined in and tried their sushi. Coming from California I half expected to be disappointed. I was very wrong. I had the rainbow roll and smoked salmon roll. My husband had the Manhattan roll and Philadelphia roll. It was wonderful. The fish was fresh. No strong fishy smell or taste. They offer many gluten free options and offered to make several rolls gluten free. They have tamari sauce if you ask for it. All in all. This place is a gem. Wonderful for take out or dine in. It is a little hard to find, but sooooo worth it. The staff was nothing but nice and quick to take care of any needs we had. I can not speak for the sushi but the Thai menu is very very bad. Do not go for Thai food. No chef just some cooks heating up pre-made stuff. 1) 11:05 Saturday morning. At least I didn't have any trouble with service. 2) Big on sushi. I'm not into sushi. If I wanted to eat raw fish, I'd reincarnate as a seal. My fault, not theirs. 3) Eleven dollars for a glass of cabernet! ELEVEN bloody sodding dollars for a GLASS!! I could get a whole bottle for less than that! Fortunately, pinot noir was $8--still a bit dear--but no explanation for a difference of $3 between two reds which are to me practically indistinguishable. 4) Tofu pad thai: tofu was roughly the texture of cardboard, and about as palatable. Pad thai consisted of a lot of noodles and very little onions and scrambled eggs in a thick, unidentifiable sauce which did not remotely resemble my perception of pad thai as I get it at Noodles & Co. I see so many restaurants trying to cover pan Asian cuisine and I find the they should stick with their region of Asia, and not try to cover different Asian cuisines in one menu. The vegetable stir fry was not bad which is why I left three stars. Otherwise, my food was pretty bad. This has happened once before with this place, but There was so much sauce that it was almost unedible due to the fact the tofu became so soggy and the vegetables were soaked. We have been coming for years and didn't know this! Every Tuesday they have a all you can eat for sushi! It's amazing it's 31 per person and you can choice from a specific menu. You can also order appetizers. It's only too 9pm on Tuesdays. The staff is always friendly and courteous. We take our kids and we love how welcoming they are to our kids. There is enough parking. East Moon delivers pretty solid Asian cuisine. I've dined in once, which was a good experience. Our server was nice and attentive even though he was the only one working the floor. I usually eat my meals from here outside the establishment. I've picked up my orders but usually have them delivered. They don't outsource that service which is nice & prompt. They also have the option to order online! The food is usually very good and freshly made. The noodles are always on point and not mushy. I have never had a problem with them but the last time I ordered delivery they forgot my soups & salad. I was a bit disappointed but I didn't call them since it would probably be more trouble than what it's worth. Besides that recent stint, East Moon is by far one of the better Asian eateries in the area that serves an array of Asian dishes. Why not give them a try if your craving something on the oriental side! read more

Spouse got home and had a hankering for Hot and Sour Soup. VERY GOOD. We also ordered Vietnamese Spring Rolls. GOOD----Although peanut sauce was kind of weird. I ordered the Panang Beef. I'd been avoiding this place due to the weirdness of many of the reviews, but now that I finally went I think I'll be driving the extra few minutes to get here for my thai (or chinese) fix and for my wife's sushi fix. I got the beef drunken noodles and fried pork dumplings. The dumplings were just the almost the perfect amount of crispy on the outside, while staying juicy on the inside. The drunken noodles (ordered extra spicy) we a generous portion. I'm an extreme spicy food eater, so the heat wasn't really up to par, but I'll give them another chance next time. There was both a lot of meat and a lot of veggies in the dish. The only thing that stood out on the bad side was that the beef tasted like "chinese restaurant beef" and not "thai restaurant beef", which is a common occurrence in pan-asian cuisine. It was still very good; it just wasn't what I expected. I wished I was brought more hot sauce on the side, but that's also a common occurrence for me. My wife said the sushi was impressive (and she's a sushi snob). There was definitely no "fishy smell" from it. The service was good and the food was great, so we'll definitely be back. read more

I enjoyed a quick lunch here on Saturday afternoon. This place is definitely going for the "modern Asian" look and I think they tried a little too hard lol but I have been coming here when I'm in town since I was in high school. The lunch special is worth "Yelp-ing" about. For $9.99 you get two rolls (basically the rolls that aren't considered "fancy"), soup, AND a house salad (I paid an extra dollar to get the avocado salad. Check out my pic!). That is a great deal and almost unheard of! The sushi was really good too. I just couldn't get over the price...So cheap! I think I said "this is such a good deal" 70 times while I was there haha! My only mistake was getting the miso soup- it was really bland and watery I don't recommend it. I got to try the hot and sour soup though, and it was MUCH better!! Really nice discovery in Longmont. The wait staff is super helpful and attentive. All of the food on the menu had my mouth watering - we entered last minute on a whim and found ourselves faced with an "all you could eat sushi night". $28.50 per person. Since we weren't THAT hungry/, we decided to skip the all you can eat and just order an appetizer and 4 rolls of sushi. The meal started with complimentary house salad which was tangy and crunchy. We also ordered some pot stickers to get things going- these were AMAZING. So filling and delicious. The 4 rolls of sushi that came out shortly after were presented beautifully and ended up being more than we could eat in the moment. Lunch for the next day: score! Overall I am glad we decided to check this place out - a good sushi bar can be hard to find in Colorado, and we will definitely be back to try more of the menu in the months to come!! Okay, so today I got here right as lunch was ending but I couldn't order lunch. If I wasn't starving I likely would have left. Granted their lunch ends at 3pm and I likely cut it close at 2:59 or exactly 3:00 but come on. There was another lady right after me that wanted lunch and when she realized she couldn't have it she walked out. Onto the food. I like to eat a variety of foods, but I wasn't going to pay dinner prices to try the 3 dishes I had chosen so I did apps. Thai hot &sour (tom yung goong)- was just okay. It wasn't bad, just not as good as Thai Kitchen in EL. Tempura Shrimp- nice app for $4.95 two shrimp with veggies. The sauce it comes with was okay, but I asked for an order of sweet&sour and that was better. Fresh spring rolls- I usually order these at a restaurant in Irving Tx and they are fantastic without shrimp. Today they had shrimp, but the rice noodles inside were not as soft as I would like and there was little else. Now, the peanut sauce it comes with is a 4/5 almost as good as Thai Basil in Irving, but not quite. Don't worry I will come back, today's apps just weren't as great as Saturday's food. Went with family for Sunday dinner. Service was ok given that there were 10 of us, despite the restaurant having many empty tables. I think they were understaffed given that one of the sushi staff was helping out. We ordered quite a few dishes and all of them - ranging across the menu from seafood and chicken to pork and pretty much all of them had the same vegetable ensemble of broccoli, carrots, and bell peppers. Every single dish. Veggie people will love this. People who want a little more protein oomph, probably not. As well, we ordered several different appetizers, including the calamari, pic attached below, which had 4 pieces. I expressed joking dismay that this is quite small and unlike many other restaurants which offer calamari appetizer but the server just shrugged. Don't think we'll be back. We tried this place because it is very close to where we live. We have ordered take out twice, and dine in once. 2 out of the 4 times there was something wrong with our order. Wait staff was really nice though, and the manager seems like a really great guy. We tried a few rolls of veggie sushi and they were all great. The rice tasted great and and the veggies were fresh. We also the the Thai hot and sour soup and miso soup were really good. The Basil Chicken also was very flavorful. I tried the drunken noodles with tofu, and where the taste and seasoning was good, I was disappointed with the noodles and the tofu. I also tried the Tom kha gai and thought it was a little bland. I am a huge lover of panaang curry, and I was super bummed by the curry here. I ordered a 4 out of 5 star and was surprised by how bland and sweet it was. The vegetables were fresh and cooked well, but the overall taste was very bland. I imagine we will try them a few more times. When the food is good, it's good. Great sushi and main dishes -- the best I've had in Longmont and I've eaten and ordered takeout a lot of places. I've ordered Beef Lo Mein, Tofu Drunken Noodles, and some appetizers. But the Green and Panag Curry is my favorite. This is definitely my go-to spot -- glad I found it! read more

Had what most would consider "traditional Chinese" food. Never tried the Thai or Japanese food. In the tofu with peanut sauce dish, the tofu was already congealed. Yuk. Couldn't taste the peanut sauce either. The Siracha beef dish was just spicy but with no taste. The beef was mushy and just about inedible. The shrimp lo mein was probably the least bad of the bunch, but the broccoli was so undercooked that it felt like chumping on raw broccoli. There is nothing traditional Chinese about the food. If you want Chinese food, go somewhere else. I don't know about Vietnamese or Japanese, but this place definitely can't cook Chinese food. Maybe the "Asian fusion" thing should have been a warning sign. Whoever cooked the food clearly showed no sign of pride in his/her profession. Never again to East Moon. Unfortunately, no real good alternative for quality Chinese food in Longmont.... BTW, the food was expensive. Even in Longmont, where I just said there is no good quality Chinese food, I've had better quality Chinese food for less. I am a retail customer and not here to endorse anyone, so I won't name East Moon's competitors. Just go around and try. One more thing - I am Chinese, from Hong Kong. This East Moon stuff is not made for Chinese people. Tastes more like food made by one of my Chinese friends when I lived in Africa, who decided to come to the US and open up a Chinese restaurant in Kentucky, with no training in cooking of any kind. For me this is my #1 place to get sushi from in town. Almost everything I have ordered has been fantastic and fresh. Favorites are the Mango Roll, and Spicy Shrimp Roll. Also their fried dumplings are pretty much some of the best in the state, and the Edamame, Tempura and Chicken Satay are also pretty superb and make a great travel food as they are good warm or cold. I am also a big fan of their Pad Se Lew, and Wonton soup. As far as main entrees go, sadly I find the majority of them to be somewhat bland or feeling rushed like its missing something to make it flavorful as I would expect. Same can be said for the fried rice which is very very mild and flavorless really compared to what I would expect. Missing soy sauce flavor possibly. Overall this is my goto place for sushi in Longmont and where I go for snacks from the appetizers. read more
