OK, it has been a few years since my last visit. Bowser's is now claiming to be Beaver County's Smokehouse. So had to stop by and try some of the Smokehouse menu. As in the past, the food is good and the service is friendly but the place is still a little divey sportsbar, but in the way. My choice was a smoked meat sandwich called The Jon Ambrose that is house-smoked brisket served on a Mancinin's roll topped with one of the house sauces, Meathead's Deli-Style Coleslaw and house made pickles. Very good, smoky and tender. Also tried a side of pickled flavored potato salad that was a delight. read more

Delicious food at a good price. You're never hungry after eating here either since the portions are so large. The service is always great and we've never had an order get messed up. I highly recommend eating here to anyone in the area! read more

This place is right next to our hotel so we walked down for dinner. The wait staff was struggling a little as this was their first time managing the outdoor patio (during the coronavirus) but they were so friendly and helpful. I'm sure with time they will get used to the new set up. We ordered from the BBQ menu and tried their brisket, bacon, and their brisket fries. All were excellent. My personal taste was to not have the BBQ spice rub dashed onto the bacon after it was cooked but I was in the minority. Would absolutely come again. read more

I moved from Beaver County to Chester County 36 years ago, and have missed steak salads all that time. We came back for a visit and went to Bowser's. What a steak salad! The fries were incredible, and covered the salad. Choice of dressings was extensive. The beer list was okay-- more IPAs, please, and include the alcohol content. The salads came in styrofoam clamshells, so the fries were soggy, not crisp, and hot like before Actually, the lettuce was also soggy and a little warm. Ugh. read more

It is extremely difficult to find high quality BBQ in Beaver County. This place is the real deal. I have had BBQ in a lot of traditional places and Bowser's stacks right up with any place that you will find in the south or Midwest. read more

Before COVID we used to get take out from here. Haven't really returned in awhile with all that's going on, overall the inside vibes are smalls, bar straight a head when you walk in to get your to go order, and seating tables in the middle. I wouldn't personally dine inside because I don't feel comfortable with the set up of the restaurant, just a bit different not super welcoming. Good food thought. read more

Been here before and never wrote a review, but after last night I felt compelled to. Run of the mill bar and bar food, nothing special. I had the "Pittsburgh Style" sandwich which if you are not from around here just means that they put fries and coleslaw on any kind of sandwich. Tons of places do it and they all are just stealing the concept from Primanti Bros. I had a Hot Sausage sandwich with a side of gravy fries. It was bland and not great. As soon as I got home I felt bad and spent the rest of the night running to the bathroom. Not to throw up, but the other end if you know what I mean. Probably made at least 5 trips in a 2 hour span. Felt like crap and went to bed early. Do yourselves a favor, if you want a sandwich with fries and slaw on it, just go to Primanti's. If you want regular bar food and don't want to spend the night crapping your guts out, I'd suggest to go somewhere else. read more

Wanted to find a locally owned establishment to stop after my sons wrestling tournament. He wanted wings and looking up what was nearby Bowser's peaked our interest. We were at the second customers in the restaurant and were immediately waited on, the Place filled up rather quickly and when we got our food I quickly realized why. Portions were more than generous and everything was delicious. I recommend the pulled pork, it was absolutely phenomenal. My son had wings and eat every crumb. Bowser's smokes meat every day. Thursday smoked prime rib is always a hit and Reuben Saturday is my new favorite. Their smoked menu can be slightly confusing but once you get it it's all good . Do yourself a favor and indulge yourself. read more

Outstanding Food and Service! When I called to place my order they were extremely nice and took the time to answer the questions I had about their sandwiches. I ordered the Brisket Grilled cheese and was explained the difference of their bbq sauces and also the two kinds of coke slaw. I was told 20 minutes for my order which was ready right on time. I was greeted at the door with a hello! The food was packed perfectly in a bag with a little bag of plastic ware, napkins a straw, ketchup and my bbq sauce on the side. I was only able to eat half of my food being the small order of fries I got was enough fries for a family of 4. The sandwich, coleslaw and fries were delicious! If you like Pittsburgh style sandwiches then Bowser's is Beaver County's #1 spot. If you like Pittsburgh style sandwiches with a side of pulled pork BBQ fries then Bowser's is a must have. I'm talking smooth, smokey, perfectly tender pulled pork piled on top of a bed of fresh cut fries. Topped with shredded cheese and green onions, but best of all is their Bacon Bourbon BBQ sauce. I could drink this stuff and chase it with a nice cold beer which Bowser's has plenty of. Overall it's great food with a good atmosphere! read more

My fiancé and I wanted to try this place since we haven't been there. May I say it was the best experience at a restaurant thus far. We went on Wednesday around 3:30. We sat at the bar and we were waited on by Lannie I believe. She has been there 19 years and she gave us the most amazing service. She recommended the fish sandwich so we decided to try the fish sandwich and get an order of wings. Amazing food and amazing staff. Kay is going to behead me for giving Bowser's 4 stars and Primanti Brothers 5, but it all came down to one thing that I'll discuss later in the review. You see, like Primanti Brothers, Bowser's also makes sandwiches with fries, slaw, and Italian bread with a variety of meats to choose from. I got the RoethlisBURGER, which is a burger done up Primanti's-style, I mean Bowser's style, and like I do at PB's, I got mine with egg. What a wild, all-lit-up-again cousin PB's has in Bowser's. It's seemingly an even bigger sandwich that Primanti's, with fries not just on the sandwich but all over the plate. I will own up to finding that the fries are even better than Primanti's. They are not soggy steak fries but rather are similar to "O" fries. You know the drill: crispy on the outside, soft on the inside. That's how you make proper french fries. Bowser's pretty much has it down. The burger itself was a luscious enough patty with a slice or two of American cheese melted perfectly atop it. Who needs to grate the cheese? Sure it gets ooozier, but I'd rather my burgers have a slice draped over it. It just seems right. Maybe it's an aesthetic thing for me, I dunno. Now here's where Bowser's fell before Primanti's in my controversial opinion. The slaw was but an afterthought. In fact, I had forgotten until I was halfway through with the sandwich that it was supposed to be slaw and not merely shredded lettuce. There was no zip, no pep, no sass. It was as quiet as a librarian. I will say that the service is friendlier, but bear in mind that Bowser's wasn't nearly as busy as Primanti's. It's also roomier and has a state-of-the-art jukebox that I managed to play some UFO songs on as we ate. I'll also admit that I'd probably feel more comfortable coming here on a Saturday night than to any Primanti's. Primanti's has an air of danger and attitude. Bowser's? Not as much. Bowser's will throw a chair out of the window and into the pool below. Primanti's will throw himself out of the window and make it into the pool below. Primanti's is the streetwise city rat. Bowser's is the country mouse. Bowser's is to Primanti's what Demolition was to the Road Warriors. Or Helloween to Iron Maiden. Soilwork to In Flames? Fridays or SCTV or Mad TV to Saturday Night Live? In other words, they are a worthy imitator, and well all know how it is with imitation and flattery. There are even Bowser's t-shirts for sale. Not a composite review. I had been hearing of this place, and it popped up in Yelp as local to my daily travels. So I stopped in yesterday at noon. From the outside, it does not look like much -- certainly not a fancy in-your-face chain cookie cutter place. But, once inside, it falls into place nicely. A 12-14 stool bar with a nice assortment of craft beers (draft). Perhaps 18 tables in the center and on the side. A kitchen you can see into... (which I like). And 2 tall coolers of craft beers -- the selection is very different than what Bocktown has -- and in my view, better. Ordered the "wraps" -- chicken. It was excellent. Service was fast and accurate. Had one of the draft beers -- The Ayinger. Cold in a clean glass -- served immediately with none of the wimpy glasses that Bocktown uses. Disappointed. I've heard people say they've had great food there...we did not. Maybe it was our choice in food...not sure. My husband & I both had Pittsburgh Sandwiches thinking maybe they would compare to Primanti's. No such luck. If you want fries on Mancini's bread....this place is for you! But if you expect meat...forget it!! Not even enough slaw on it so it was dry. The burger on my husband's Rothlisberger was so thin...we're talking McDonald's burger thin. No way near worth $10. My husband expressed his disappointment to one of the waitresses...she basically agreed & offered more fries?? And to top it all off...my husband posted on Facebook a pic of his burger patty & the comment back from the restaurant was just rude. Never will be back & never will recommend this place!! read more

Has potential, but I'd like to see the kitchen help wear gloves, I sat across from the kitchen door and immediately regretted my decision to eat there.
