He was very apologetic and let me know that he would try his best to accommodate me. I told him that I was unsatisfied with the previous delivery service and since I live in Elgin (2 hours away) I would just come pick up my replacement items....y'all this man was soooo freaking nice!!! He helped me strap everything down and made sure I was straight before pulling off. He wouldn't give me a time. 30 minutes after that, I still hadn't heard anything, so I told the person at my apartment to leave so he could go back to work. Very poor quality along with extremely poor customer service coming directly from who claimed to be the owner's son. When delivered, the product was incomplete. Even more dissatisfied was the son who delivered the incomplete product did nothing to offer to fix nor apologize for the issue. I also payed the company to remove the old couch as they not only did not complete that service, just left the old couch next to a dumpster. I assumed they took the old couch with them but as the son was too small to handle a simple task alone that was understandable. Called the next day and was told they had ordered the piece and it would be in a few days later. When arrived to the store I was again greeted by the owner's son and asked if the pieces arrived. He said no and had no clue when or if they would be in. Disappointed I asked if they would offer a refund or take anything off. He said that wasn't an option, as I was pretty much S.O.L.'ed at that point and at least I was able to put the armrest on the couch, which wasn't an option as without the brackets to hold both in place, the armrest would slip off. Intimidated by my displeasure he quickly grabbed for his phone to pretend to have a phone call and walked off to the back leaving me alone in the front of the store which was very childish. From his reaction it seems this type of poor professionalism and poor customer service he offers happens quite frequently. Luckily another employee was able to fix the issue which he just went to another store and got what was needed for my issue a few days later. Simple enough. Something the owner's son could not accomplish or handle is just mind boggling. Definitely will not and can not recommend this business to anyone as of something is missing they will not take any ownership, responsibility, nor will they (the son) offer to fix the problem. I ended up deciding to get a custom ottoman instead of the one I purchased. With their 3 day return window it was no issue. Their designer Ty helped me pick out the perfect fabric for my living room. It will be 5 weeks before I get my new ottoman but no worries, I can keep the one I initially purchased until my new one arrives. It's the little things like this that make a difference. When my fiancé commented that a loveseat priced around $750 seemed expensive compared with a 5-piece sectional priced around $1,300, her reaction and smile came across as condescending. She also did not make much effort to show us different options or explain the available pricing. What frustrated us most was that she never mentioned the Labor Day sale. I only brought it up because I had already seen the promotion on Ashley's website. Her response was basically, "Oh yeah, let me check, but you have to decide which one you want first." That made no sense to us. If different pieces have sale prices or promotions, customers need to know those prices while comparing options, not after they have already made a decision. We came in genuinely ready to buy furniture, but the attitude and lack of assistance made us decide not to purchase anything and leave the store. A better customer-service experience could have easily resulted in a sale.
