The coffee here is superb! The barista, TK has crafted many specialty flavors for customers. The honey butter latter I ordered started with a surprisingly savory taste (I thought it would be sweet because if honey). With joy, I sipped more of the latte and found the premium honey finish at the bottom! Highly recommended the coffee here! Don't miss it next time when you visit Ward Village.

What an incredibly cool concept--with work from home life becoming the new normal, I'm always amazed at the creative and innovative ideas people come up with. For myself working from home has been tough, between juggling my endless list of to-dos and the non stop distractions, sometimes I truly amaze myself at how I manage to get everything done. Before COVID, I'd treat myself to weekly coffee shop dates to help me better focus on the more important tasks at hand. There's something about sitting in a coffee shop with strangers when you really have so much stuff you gotta get done that makes you feel so much more productive. Cue, Box Jelly. For those looking to network and work in a safe environment that feels like home (minus the distractions), look no further! Box Jelly is the co-working space of my dreams! I came here on a whim after seeing their coffee shop (Try Coffee) start trending on Yelp. Something new-ish in Honolulu, you know I'm there! The concept is relatively simple, you pay for either a monthly or drop-in membership to access this shared space that is equipped with conference rooms, large tables, comfy chairs, a/c, WiFi, restrooms, a communal printer, a beautiful lanai, and views over looking Ala Moana Beach Park across the street. Like Yelp, this biz is all about connecting and building a community of like minded creatives, entrepreneurs, brilliant humans. Signing up to use their space was easy, and their staff was super helpful, knowledgeable, and friendly, fielding any and all of the questions I had--from how do I sign up to where are your restrooms and what is your wifi password. I signed up to use their drop-in passes (minimum of 5 for $20 each and never expires) which offers less access than those who hold a monthly membership, but fine by me! The drop in passes offer just what I need--a cool, creative space to escape my dull and boring WFH set up! I have a few more passes to use but am definitely interested in migrating my WFH set up here instead. So long as the WiFi is fast and the coffee is plentiful, I'm there!

Just now went to inquire about how this place works and was shockingly treated rudely and disgracefully by two members of Staff at Box Jelly. Including the Manager. If this is the Aloha and Customer service in how you treat prospective new customers or members, you have a long road ahead. Will be warning people about this place and its staff going forward. If you are looking for Aloha and a Welcoming space and Staff, look elsewhere. If you are a POSITIVE, HIGH VIBE PERSON STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE. Can see as a Healer myself, they will bring your Frequency right down Aloha

When I left full-time cubicle dwelling to work independently, I realized quickly I wasn't disciplined enough to work from home. I tried almost all of Honolulu's coworking spaces, but settled on BoxJelly Ward for a number of reasons: warm, casual vibe; smart, creative, interesting members; welcoming space with outdoor and indoor seating as well as meeting spaces; Try Coffee coffee (with a member discount), and ample parking--the Achilles heel of most other locations. I basically work out of this space every day, recreating my day-job life, but it's still a ton more fun.

Smoked Coconut Latte - soooo yummy

My initial interest in checking out this place was to find a new go-to for great coffee in town. The cherry-on-top was discovering not only the fantastic coffee (try the Barista's choice - they made me an incredible smoked coconut latte) but a safe space where they require a QR code scan (for entry) + proof of vaccination to order food. I've been extremely cautious about masking and vaccination so I'm glad there are places where we can enjoy a social atmosphere + great coffee and still maintain a modicum of safety. Sure, not everyone may appreciate these measures and that's okay too. Now that I know about this spot, I'll be making it my go-to for a enjoying coffee without constantly worrying about the vaccination status of others around me.

Review based on BoxJelly "Words + Pictures" Installation by Clifford Cheng: As much as I love the ocean, my lack of strong swimming skills prevents me from enjoying dream activities like scuba diving & spear fishing. This is one reason I adore the Hawaii Skin Diver Magazine, because I'm able to vicariously live the underwater experience through their gorgeous prints & engaging articles. Despite my best efforts, staying on top of my social networks, checking Facebook, Instagram & Twitter for upcoming events, there are a number of fun events I miss. That's why I wanted to give a shout out to Jimmy DiCarlo for inviting me to "Words + Pictures" Installation featuring Clifford Cheng & Hawaii Skin Diver Magazine at The Box Jelly Coworking. Attending the "Words + Picutres" Installation was my first time visiting The Box Jelly Coworking office & it was nice to finally stop by hole in the wall gem. I love how the white walls in The Box Jelly Coworking office made local designer & entrepreneur Clifford Cheng's photos burst with life. If you're an ocean enthusiast or Hawaii Skin Diver fan, you need to view Clifford's larger than life magazine covers for yourself. If you were unable to attend the Opening Night of the "Words + Pictures" photo installation, stop by The Box Jelly before Monday (09.30.13). Also be sure to "like" The Box Jelly Coworking, to stay up-to-date with JellyWorks, a rotating creative exhibition space showcasing the work of creatives locally & abroad.

BoxJelly I read an article about how in England shared land use of space was an idea in rural areas which very recently was brought into the London area. Then the idea spread over the pond to USA. BoxJelly is one of the wildest versions of the shared space models that I have ever seen. Not only is it shared space for a millennial playground of ideas but a pop-up small box/ artist den/ foodie haven within the space. Yes- it is hard to explain it in 1 sentence let alone in a run-on sentence type paragraph. The space is unique- that is putting it mildly. Each room seems to have a personality. If you study feng shue or want to prove a dissertation on how a rooms flow increases ideas along with productivity of creative ideas - you would have an honorary degree from Harvard on this one. One room is all about art- another room is more traditional in that it is functional in a home office type of mental state. It's not an artist's den parse but a collaborative setting that generates flows of ideas. Most notably- before Uber had a real office in Honolulu, they were at BoxJelly. The whole vibe is that of - you get your business up and off the ground because you are not at home where distractions distract you to the point of not starting. BoxJelly forces people to get their creative juices flowing- redirect back to a business entrepreneur mentality and get back to the grind of business. Behind wall number 1 is a small coffee shop near the art/ crafts/ spa type tangible items for sale. You can grab a cup of Joe without having to leave the den. Or you can go over to Ward Mall just over the block for anything more substantial. It does cost to join. Just know that it is basically an investment in working with likeminded people that have a depth of knowledge in their respected fields as well as get you motivated to work on your own stuff. I've been here to talk to people, go to an event and even joined in on their Christmas Party/ open house. Some of the most knowledgeable people I have ever met in their specific fields. It is instead of Brooklyn in NY a new kind of feel of space that in unique. It really could be our own new local identity space that helps with ideas. I don't have a business but if I did I would start here for sure because they have a great presence with lower rent instead of full on getting too long of a lease which can be crippling to young people. It is by appointment so that there is a person free to show you around and answer questions. It is a great deal to take in at first - so be ready. That is why an appointment is a great idea.
