Love this place! They have genuinely everything you can imagine fandom wise. Such a fun store to go too and it's definitely a must stop every time I go to the mall. Prior to BoxLunch opening, I saw the "Coming soon" sign and thought it was going to be a new restaurant. It's not a restaurant, but a store located at the lower level of the Avenues Mall that sells pop culture-themed products. It kinda reminds me of ThinkGeek, but with a cause. Their slogan is "Get Some. Give Back," so for every $10 spent, a meal will be donated to a person in need. Additional contributions can also be made by rounding up your purchase to the nearest dollar. The parent company is Hot Topics so if you've ever shopped there, they have similar products but BoxLunch is less gothic, more open / bright, and organized. They have a similar reward system, but instead of getting "Hot Cash", they'll give you "Lunch Money." Towards the back of the store are shelves with clearance items. When I was there, there was a pretty big selection. Items were an additional 30% off the lowest price. Ellen was the person that cashed us out. She was friendly and very sweet. She advised that 90% of the items there are BoxLunch exclusives. In addition to brick and mortar locations, the company is also web base so check out their website if you want to get any idea of the products / prices. The employees here are the star of the show. I shop here very frequently and all of them remember my name and are always super kind and always help me with whatever they can. I shop here for funkos, clothing, to even keychains. I always love the atmosphere because it's very family friendly and in the years of shopping here, I've never had one bad experience. This is an adorable pop culture store with items I have NEVER seen before (and that says a lot!). Huge selection of clothing, accessories, and every kind of bric-a-brac and knickknack you can imagine from just about every fandom from Star Wars/Star Trek, DC/Marvel, Disney, Anime, cartoons new and old, etc. I almost had to drag my daughter out of the store (or was it the other way around?). They really pack a LOT of stuff into a smallish area, but it didn't feel as cramped as it could. Good organization. The workers were pleasant but not overbearing. They have a lot of high quality merch, but most is overpriced-- so they compensate with many specials, discounts, bucks earned, rewards, and exclusive deals, and wait even more...spin on the app for more lucky savings.....but NONE of them can be redeemed together. Wait, what? If I earn bucks (your form of redeemable cash rewards), they can NOT be used as payment with ANY other discount??? You say I am so lucky because I can get an extra 25% off my order for a spin at your wheel, but I cannot use my reward bucks with it. So if I am using the oh so oh so special bucks that I EARNED from paying your gorged retail priced items, they don't work for your discounted prices. You discount an item by 40% but I cannot use my bucks for that either. I can only use the "earned bucks" on NON-discounted items and with no other special that I had to spin for. So you need to have more upfront disclosure about your bucks. Make sure that everyone knows the the earned bucks can only be used on your full price items, because your flashy discount teasers bring customers in-- but the customers who have "earned" company bucks from buying from you previously--cannot take advantage of the sales. I guess I just don't like how you try to reel in customers. It's your tactics, I don't like, but I do like your merchandise. You will say it is all fair and to read the fine print, but it just honestly takes all the fun out of shopping with you. It just leaves a bitter taste every time, and that's not something I want to go back for. read more

Stumbled into this store last night just before close and my inner kid was skipping around with glee~ weeeeee! Geek-chic is what the sales lady called it! Disney, Harry Potter, Tar Wars, Pokemon and SO MUCH MORE! Shirts, toys, homewares, just down right playful merchandise! The big difference between this store and others who have geeky merch is that this feels like a store for adults. Laid out nicely- displays are well thought out and plentiful. AND!!! a store to give you warm fuzzies with every purchase! That's right- every purchase donates a meal to our local community! Those in need- right here in Jacksonville! I honestly was overwhelmed by so many cool choices that I didn't purchase- but I will be back to fulfill my fuzzy-wuzzy, geek-chic desires and buy some treasures! This is an amazing shop! If you love Disney, Marvel, DC, SpongeBob, Harry Potter, Anime, and other brands of nostalgia Box lunch is the place. They even allow you to price match with their online prices at times. I feel good shopping here because I know my money goes to a good place. read more

While I generally love the merchandise that is available at this store. I just had a very bad experience. I understand that we are in trying times and that certain measures must be taken to protect the public against the spread of COVID 19. So here is the story. While waiting in line to enter the store. A couple in from was permitted entered when two people left. That seemed reasonable. Then a single person left, so I logically assumed it was ok for me to enter. A little time goes by and the associate monitoring the door was doing something on her phone. (Most of the time people this age as playing - that's what it looked to me). I asked her with some tone if I was permitted to come in and I pointed out that someone just left and said a comment about knowing that if she would put the phone down. Maybe it wasn't the nicest thing to say. But the response was so over the top rude that I feel compelled to write a poor review. I am not one that does this very often. But this young lady's defense of herself became an attack on me. This young lady needs to learn how to deal with situations better than this. Needless to say this store has lost this customer. There are other ways to find the stuff that they sell. That's too bad though. As I said before I generally liked that store. read more
