This is a very nice store to check out, especially to get gifts for family and friends. The products are very, very expensive though. This location opened less than a month ago and is located on the second level of Montebello Town Center between Forever 21 and Macy's. It is on the same side as Bath and Body Works. The store was well staffed and well stocked during my visit which is important during the busy holiday season. I was greeted upon entering and on my way out. A staff member informed me of the promotion of the day while I shopped. The store layout is similar to other BoxLunch stores with Disney and Harry Potter merchandise towards the front and a Funko wall towards the back. It was fun to walk around and seeing all the cool merchandise. They even sell Maruchan ramen lunch boxes and dog toys! BoxLunch is the place to find unique pop culture, tv, anime, and movie merchandise. This is the place to shop for gear to prepare for your next Disneyland or Universal Studios trip. While they usually carry exclusive hard to find pop culture merchandise, I find that their regular priced items are inflated so how they get you is by running different promotions such as buy one get one half off. Prices for some items still seem high even on promotion. For example, graphic tees are $28.90 each so for two graphic tees with the buy one get one half off promotion still comes out to almost $22 each. I usually have such an awesome experience here. But today's experience was so awkward and the employees made me feel very uncomfortable. I went in to grab something for me and my sister. I had to make some adjustments because she changed her mind, and cancelled one of the orders. One of the guys with a beard, looked all bothered and annoyed to have to redo the transaction. The second time around I went back to buy a wallet I had seen. I didn't understand they were price matching the online price, and that my promo's were separate, so they couldn't use more than one $5 promo on a $5 item. The same guy helped me with the transaction, when all of a sudden his coworker jumped in and started talking to me. It was very weird and awkward, like if she was defending him from me, when I was just confused on what was going on. She even dryly and rudely said this is "the best we can do." No smiles, no we're helping you out nothing. Both of them seemed annoyed and bothered to be employed. I also saw when they looked at their computer screen, they both laughed at my account. Very unprofessional, I've worked in retail and this isn't how you act. Its your tone and demeanor that means a lot, in tune with what you say. Made me feel like I should just stick to online orders, or shop at Glendale. The girl was a girl with long black hair, and was wearing a cardigan. They both ignored my thank you, clearly annoyed with me. This happened 09/04/22 around 11:30 AM- 12: 00 PM. Employees should be trained to be polite, and explain things with patience. read more

After a terrible experience at a neighboring store, our visit to this BoxLunch location was more than I could've ever asked for. We originally came in looking to exchange a purse and left with another item as well after the original transaction. Our cashier Aaliyah was so sweet, helpful and incredibly friendly! Will definitely be making this my go-to BoxLunch after the customer service I experienced with her and the other associates on the floor with her. I was very very frequent visitor to the Cerritos BoxLunch because of Janelle. She brought life and personalization to her conversations with customers. I'm very much a one liner person. I answer yes or no but I would have a conversation with her. All of the sudden she's at the new store open in Montobello but it's an hour drive for me but I try to combine my would have been several trips to Cerritos to Montobello instead now. I Love BoxLunch just the way it is and the products it carries but adding her to the equation is what I feel most people get trained to achieve that with customers. So I definitely don't mind the 2 hours driving back and forth. And the store is big, clean, super organized. Staffs are friendly too. Always offer to help. Again sounds like their manager is coaching them well lol. Love this location. read more

Worst customer service!!! I was looking around and I was about to buy at least $100 worth of merch. That being said there was no way not to notice me because I was carrying so much stuff. When I went to check out-there was no line- and it still took them 5+ minutes to attend me. It had not been the first time that this had happened and each time it was the same two people at the register. The girl always seems to distract the guy who's there and they will be talking shit about their manager and other coworkers while I'm waiting. They clearly see me and ignore me until their conversation is over. I'm the end I got so frustrated that I left all of the stuff I was going to purchase on the counter and left. The store is cool but I would not go back until the customer service improves. read more

Boxlunch is one of my favorite stores. This one in particular is very new (Nov 2019) and it's very roomy and organized. The sections are well placed within the store. Hats off to the staff at this location for making it easy to shop here. read more

The staff is very friendly and I loved the customer service! I was in the store picking things out and everything I selected the staff would ask and take the merchandise to the registers. The conversations with the staff was dope because they knew their merchandise. With that said the store was neatly and appropriately organized when it came to Disney, Anime, and cartoon products. I had a great experience with Alexandra and Jenelle and will definitely return to buy the dope gear. read more
