Great product selection. I always find a cool t-shirt or two. Cute matching loungefly backpacks and matching wallets!

    8/13/22 Sailor Moon Merch

I visited this BoxLunch location over the weekend while visiting family. The store itself was organized and clean. I particularly liked the selection of Sailor Moon Merchandise they had in stock. I'm a 90s kid so I'll forever be a Sailor Moon fan through and through. 3/5 star rating because my experience was average. Nothing terrible but also nothing spectacular enough to warrant more starts. The store was busy at the time I went. I wasn't greeted by any store associates when I entered or by the few I passed while browsing. The girl behind the register was friendly. At one point she exclaimed in surprise that the Sailor Moon pullover sweater I was purchasing was on sale while looking to her co-worker. Her co-worker told her it was part of the sale but not on sale by itself. Since I wasn't greeted by any of the associates in the store I didn't know what qualified for the buy one get one 30% off. The overall experience was just ok.

Unlike Hot Topic, however, this store isn't quite as aesthetically overwhelming, and it didn't make me feel claustrophobic either.

It's in a fantastic location in Old Town Auburn -- close to parking and other cute shops and good restaurants. It's within 5 minutes of 80. The owners are very knowledgeable, friendly and customer focused. You always get a greeting, an offer of help and great advice on painting projects or gift items fresh from a buying trip. And it's also a Fusion mineral paint distributor with a great selection in-store, plus the option to purchase online. To help you learn how to get the most from your furniture paint purchase, they offer classes in the back of their beautiful store. I took a Painting 101 class with Mary, the owner, and she was a terrific teacher. Here's what I loved: FAIR PRICING: I had been looking for a class and saw them offered at $65 to $95, so her fee of $75 was very competitive. The difference was that I could use the class to paint my own item, if I liked, rather than just try techniques on wood boards, as some do. All supplies were included in the 3-hour class. APPROACHABLE STYLE: Answered questions patiently and thoroughly, demonstrated techniques and tricks, and offered advice while STILL asking your personal project preferences on color, wax use, distress level, etc. She was generous with her time and expertise -- which just makes me want to give her more business. This is exactly the kind of local, small business that you want to see thrive. It's a go-to stop for me -- whether shopping for a gift or doing a painting project.

I had never heard of the place, so I figured I'd check it out. I found street parking easily on the morning I visited the store, though I can imagine how parking might be a little tricky on weekends or busier times. The store isn't very big, but it's crammed full of stuff. When I went in December, a large portion (maybe 80%?) of the items were Christmas/holiday related. I plan to come back and see what kind of inventory they have during the rest of the year! Very unique gift items and the prices are great. I found these cute Santa tongs that were only priced at $2.95. Usually in gift stores like Hallmark, I'm used to seeing items priced way more than that. I found myself pleasantly surprised when looking at prices. A few other customers were in there and we all talked about what cute store it is, and they expressed how much they love it there. One customer said there were a few other gift stores a couple doors down, but when I visited those, I was not impressed with their merchandise or pricing. This store, however, I really liked. The employee was also very very friendly. He took the time to wrap everything neatly with tissue paper and was just about the nicest person you'd ever meet. Definitely a fun place to check out if you're ever in Lincoln!

The shop keeper was at the register, maybe doing some paperwork. She was occupied and very quiet. Her store was very cute and I spent a lot of time looking at the earrings. I was trying to see if there was something I couldn't live without. I believe they were sterling silver and all around $18 each. There were bars of soap for men and women, earrings, candles... the kitchen towels with the clever sayings had me cracking up. I had to get one! After looking around the shop, I got to say hello and speak with the shop keeper. She was very sweet and pleasant. I liked that I was able to do a mobile payment. It made checking out fast & easy! On the weekends or during Downtown events, parking can be nearly impossible, but there is a small parking lot around the corner. I could easily spend the day out here going inside of every shop and picking at least one place to eat. I loved just looking up inside this building, you could see the old workings from it past. It seems like half a mile of plants. The inventory is huge and I could have spent a Million dollars here . And the plants were reasonably priced. Better than big box nurseries. Rare plants. My friend and I were in Heaven. There's a Cafe with indoor and outdoor seating that's always booked. Reservations are essential, my friend and I thought we could slip in and have lunch, it was a 45 minute wait, only finding that out after we had stood in line for over 20 minutes plus.. The property is like a beautiful garden with a koi pond and wonderful garden art that I wanted so, so badly. Money . There's also an olive oil and vinegar tasting room and a separate gift shop all in this wonderful warehouse setting. My friend bought 2 oils costing $40.00 . But they were exquisite, beautiful and flavorful and unique tasting. Yum. High hand also has a venue for weddings and I believe a brewery. It's mind blowing ! Serious gardeners must visit there.
