First time visit to a Five Below! This one is new, and is in the shopping center with Best Buy. The store is bright and clean and cheery. The employees working were friendly and helpful. You have to ring yourself up here - no cashiers. I didn't know what to expect from a Five Below and I was pleasantly surprised. They have a huge assortment of snacks and candies, they have good party supplies. There is a large makeup area too. I have the feeling that the stock changes so I will plan to come back again. This store is great! Plenty of art and science kits to keep my son busy this summer. Sometimes there are a few hidden gems but our go to buy is the kids activity kits and cat scratchers. Who wants to spend a ton of money on cardboard for your cat to scratch when you can stock up on $5 scratchers. It's a great deal considering main pet stores charge upwards of $30. read more

Since I'm grading the customer service of the people working in that store, I sometimes encounter personalities like the Grinch who stole Christmas. I like the Grinch, but I don't like their customer service. Five Below Roseville has the finds -- I grabbed a Grinch power bank and a few cute extras -- but the customer service clocked out mid‑shift. No greeting at the door, checkout was pure robot voice, just "cash or card" like I'd interrupted a system update. Then the kicker: they wouldn't let me take the cart to my car. I'm pushing a wobbly mountain of stuff and they're guarding the parking lot like it's Fort Knox. I don't need confetti at checkout, but I do expect basic human settings turned on. This is like a ramped-up Dollar Tree with a hipper selection to reach a younger demographic. As an older person, the merchandising is lost on me. My first time to this location. Only my second time to a five below. But I don't count my actual first time. We were on vacation and it was next door to another store we went to. I walked in and turned around and walked out. My husband didn't even walk in..he said that's wrong? I said I cannot go into this store! To many things I want. I hear about it from all my friends so I finally went back. Again we almost left when we walked in and saw a huge line. I said we are here we can look around. We walked the whole store. I found many things but only picked up a few. We get to the front. They have nice self checks and people to help. Come to find out the huge line was for Pokémon day. They had some kind of event. Employees working didn't look to thrilled. Seemed like maybe one person working. Trying to make sure everyone used self check outs correctly. No regular register as far as I can tell. So me and my son were shopping on Sunday!! We seen five below even though we don't need nothing from there we always get tempted to walk in. You never know what you're going to find the store is very organized and clean. I really enjoy shopping at this store. It's actually pretty fun every single time I go there is new things to shop for !! Everything at the store is five dollars except some of the bigger stuff could be $10 or $15 dollars . Definitely worth the money for the products that you're getting for a store to be mostly five dollars for good quality products .It's a pretty sweet deal. It's a pretty fun store. They have a lot of unique things. They have beauty products, games for kids toys, working out stuff. they have a very cool candy selection.! Definitely recommend checking it out ! They kept me on hold for ten minutes when they could've answered a ten second question. Mind you they didn't have a hold button so the whole time I can hear them clanging together something and every now and then "is it even?". This store is a self checkout store, so the employees usually, from what I can see, not have the same duties as a full service retail store, such as Target or Walmart. Full service as in they actually have employees that will ring you up and occasionally converse with you. So customer service is severely low on the priority list for this store. I'd say 100 below on customer service. Not spending any money here, let alone $5. read more

Like most discount stores, this shop has a hodge podge of items that you never knew you wanted, until you go in. The merchandise variety is all over the place and fun to explore. We decided to go in to see if they had any Easter basket ideas and found a few unusual ways to release bubbles for family fun, along with the standard stuffed animals, cheap toys, plastic eggs and seasonal candy. They have mostly inexpensive stuff that may or may not be that low in price compared to other similar stores like Dollar Tree, but still a good place to find some surprises and even entice a person to make a purchase. We even discovered an electronics section, cell phone covers and items that I had no clue what they were. Not sure if they were discontinued or obsolete products, but it was actually interesting to see what was available for people to see what they might need for a particular reason. There is also a cosmetics and skin care section, apparel, collectible toys and lots of candy. This store seems to be an OK place to check out if you want to spend some time and money! read more

OMG I had no idea they had locations in NorCal, I always go to Five Below in SoCal and have been waiting for them to make their way here. I absolutely love this place as they are so cheap, most items are $5 and below with a few items being $10 but even those items are a good deal. This place is a one stop shop because they have clothing, bedroom/home decor, cell phone accessories, snacks/candy and lots more. This particular store was nice and clean, has a great layout and the customer service here was wonderful. They seemed to have items that other locations do not. I love their variety of shirts because they have everything from Disney, Marvel, MTV and other licensed brands as well as shirts with funny and clever quotes. I found myself grabbing 3 shirts and they were $5 each! I really like their home decor as well, you can get some good stuff for you room or just your house in general. They have some cute throw blankets, rugs, lighting, storage bins, pillows, wall decor and much more. The quality of the items are great as well. I guarantee if you come to this store one time you will be hooked and will want to come here all the time getting things you didn't think that you needed. I will definitely be back when I'm in the area as they have not expanded to the Bay Area yet. read more

Cute little store in the Best Buy shopping center, next to Bath & Body Works. Definitely a great place to bring kids and I'm sure this place will be packed right before Christmas because you can get some really original toys/games for a great price. They also have a huge assortment of cell phone accessories including cases and chargers. Tons of headphones, water bottles, pet supplies, greeting cards, candy, snacks, you name it. I thought the Sharpies pack for $5 was a great deal. While we didn't find anything for ourselves, it's definitely a fun place to walk around, especially if you want to see your kids get really excited. read more

I haven't visited this chain before, but enjoyed our quick trip in. I totally lied to my kid and swore there would be Jojo Siwa stuff, but I wasn't a lier, she spent her entire $20 on Jojo stuff. The store was clean and well laid out, not very busy on a Monday morning. All the checkout stands were self service, and the staff was cleaning them between every customer. I think this is a great place to find things that cost more than a dollar, but are still affordable. They had a ton of back packs for $5 and lots of school supplies that were better quality than the dollar store, but not quite Target prices. They offered a lot more art supplies and electronics than the dollar store, and yet, it wasn't overwhelming and packed with stuff. I don't know if this will be a regular spot for anything I need, but the did have a lot of cheap toys, journals that were pretty, and more electronics than I anticipated. I think this is a great place to grab things for birthday parties for cute decorations that won't destroy the budget. They also have a great candy selection along with other little odds and ends. One of the best values I noticed was the canvases. If you're into art, they have a lot of canvas sizes at good prices! All in all, the kids love it, I loved it, and we will be back. read more

I am a Five Below fan and often have great shopping experiences at this location; however, the other day my family and I were profiled by the blonde, middle aged manager, Cheryl. She was constantly following us around, was there at every turn, made condescending comments and made us feel extremely uncomfortable while shopping. Whoa Karen, calm down! We immediately reached out to the Corporate office and demanded for the District Manager- we will escalate this because in this day and age, you can't let bigots get away with this type of behavior. I love all Five Below locations but this one in particular is top notch. Many locations are constantly sold out of interesting and odd items but here they seem to always stay stocked with plenty of goodies to fill a basket. Their variety is great, you can find all types of items for your basic home and personal needs, such as cups, phone chargers and flatware, but can also find collectibles like Funko pops and oddities like bacon and taco gummies. Great selection at good prices but one of the workers (tall thin lady, i think she may be the manager) is very rude. When I was simply (and very carefully) getting my shirt size from the display, she came over saying in a hostile tone, "Goodness gracious, what a mess. Can I get a the size you need?" while at the same time sqeezing in front of me and trying to grab the shirt I was about to take from the pile...basically accusing me of making a mess when the display was in perfect order. And to make matters worse, when I said, "no thanks", she made a huffing sound like she was annoyed. I was planning to buy many more shirts but I was so frustrated that I left without completing my purchases. read more

This store i knew about from watching OmarGoshTV on YouTube. I seen him visit this store each holiday to buy gifts for kids as a donation event for the gift of giving. This store had it all for such a great deal for everyone & it was a fun store i wish I brought my kids to. I visited on Dec 17th of 2020. I was curious since the doors were finally open & I just finished some light shopping at Burlington near by. They had speakers out their front door with upbeat music playing to welcome all customers. A greeter at the door had invited me in. I assumed there was a line since their other door entry has people standing near it but he corrected me that that was for Bath & Body ... thankfully this store did not have many people inside & its big enough for social distancing. They had board games placed all on the left front corner of the entry way then as you walked further in, they had toys for kids to some makeup items & then accessories. Beyond that side was a few electronics, even cell phone accessories & holders.. even pet items & clothing. Then the back i thought was pretty cool. They had sports gear & items.. like balls for kids to play for different sports & also gym wear for working out or even yoga bricks, roll mats & some resistance bands. Then as you work your way to the other end of the store, there is art stuff, canvas, paints, markers, colored pencils... it was amazing to see. I have kids with special needs who love to color & draw so this will be fun to bring them into. This place already has so much vibrant color & its bright white lights inside that it makes the store give so much positive vibes, along with their music playing. It will stimulate my kids in crazy ways but hoping it won't overwhelm them, but more enjoy spending time inside to look around & possibly shop for something they would like to bring back home. They also sell some clothes (mainly shirts) & they also have a candy section. Very neat store & I feel like its a cross between dollar store vibes meets Walmart in one... you can tell most of these board games aren't major brands but their pretty fun to see & some even have jokes. read more

Staff seemed pretty harried and the counters just didn't seem too clean like other locations I've gone to. Lots of cheap stuff in here, feels like a $1 store. Found a few items and went to pay at the self-checkout and couldn't figure out how to pay-- I guess you can only use a Venmo or PayPal app. That's be something nice to know upon entry to the store as I wouldn't have even wasted my time in there. If you haven't heard about five below it's alright you aren't living under a rock. One of my new go-to places and I love it! I wish I heard about it sooner. There are 5 locations located in the Sacramento/Roseville area. So if you live in Elk Grove then you're SOL, unless you're willing to make the drive. Unfortunately we'll be going under that stay at home order soon, but once it's over you should definitely take a trip here! I haven't been to any other location besides this one, but I'm sure it's just as awesome. Five below has a ton of different little knickknacks for everyone. I wish they would open one in Elk Grove, but everyone doesn't get what they want and 2020 is not forgiving. They do follow all social distancing protocols which is great because I don't need someone's hot breath down my neck and germs all over me. (This goes out to all the people who can't simply follow instructions) Don't be THAT person. All the employees are so nice and welcoming. The music is a little too loud, but at least I can't hear other people's conversations lol. 10/10 would recommend this place to anyone. Don't even bother going here. Worst customer service I've had in a while. Employee picked up the phone sounding very fake and sweet and immediately hung up on me mid-sentence. Everything was perfect besides the rude blonde who ripped merchandise out of my hand. She walked by me while I was opening a screen protector it to see if it fit my phone and it did so I planned on buying it. But after she ripped it out of my hand and said "we can't sell this now that you opened it" and tosses it in a bin by the bathroom, I wasn't interested in it anymore.
