This is our go-to place in Berlin, Ohio. We've eaten there several times, and they have yet to disappoint. Awesome chicken. The pies are to die for. Even the burgers are great. Excellent food, excellent service. My only criticism is that the tap water tastes horrible. That is a minor quibble and not worth the loss of a star. They are a water filter away from perfection. read more

This is one of those local places that has been there for a very long time, and the only reason to find out why is by trying it out. The food is excellent, real country cooking. Plenty of desserts as well. It is a cash-only place, so no credit cards. They also sell some very nice looking t-shirts. No trip to Berlin, Ohio is complete without trying this place out. Apparently it gets packed at times, but we got lucky and didn't have to wait very long. I'd recommend this place to anybody coming here. read more

Our waitress was very friendly and provided good service. Food was ok. I would actually give them a 3, as it was average, except for the pie. The pie is wonderful. Plus, since we were there right before closing, they gave us a free piece of pie since they would be throwing it away anyways. First restaurant I've been to where they would rather give there customers something free rather than toss it out. And that pie, banana cream, was delicious. For that, they get 4 stars. read more

A nice home town type diner full of bustling waitresses and a kitchen like an orderly bee hive! The queue seemed long, we were twelfth and thirteenth in line, but we were sitting at the counter within 15 minutes! I had a country fried steak dinner and my husband ate roast beef dinner. Delicious! It was like Sunday dinner with grandma. We each had a piece of pie and copious amounts of fresh coffee, all that food for $31 total. Happy tummies. This was my second visit to B&W and I was not disappointed. They pride them self on home cooking and do a fantastic job in the heart of Amish country. The home made bread with apple butter is an amazing precursor to the meal to come. I ordered the hot roast beef sandwich with mashed potatoes (the half order) and it was the perfect serving. The roast beef was well cooked and the mashed potatoes were very fluffy. I finished off my meal with a slice of fresh peach pie, it's a cold pie with a cool whip like topping. It was all delicious and I would love to go back whenever I'm in the area. Just a quick tip, the line may seem long, but it moves very fast because it's a large restaurant. We waited about 15 minutes for our table and it was worth it! read more

Dutch rhubarb pie and coffee! Sometimes when I'm by myself, passing through Berlin, and it's not mealtime, I just stop and enjoy a piece of pie and coffee at the counter. I take the time to chat with others and just watch the people. Truly an experience. The tourists are obvious. I prefer to try my best to blend in and listen for local talk and news. My friend loves the ham loaf here, and it was good. I got the fish which was just OK - reminded me of cafeteria fare. The cole slaw was really good. The mashed potatoes were kind of runny & salty. Just an OK place to eat if you're in the area. The best thing about this place is that you're among the locals. Nothing blew us away but we did enjoy the coleslaw and the bread. Parking is somewhat difficult to come by so try them during their dinner service so that you can find a spot right in front. read more

Great old local diner-like atmosphere. Throwback menu to the 50's. Chicken noodle soup was made with real chicken broth and homemade noodles. My husband recollected his childhood with a trail baloney sandwich. Bread was homemade! Salad plates included a red jello salad! Pies were tasty. We visited this tiny restaurant today when we visited Berlin in Amish Country. It was fantastic and served the country style cooking I would expect from an Amish community. Evidently, on Saturdays, they have a special for 2 sirloin steaks, 2 sides each and bread and butter for $29. The steaks were perfect! My mashed potatoes and gravy and noodles were great as well, so were my wife's roasted parsley red potatoes. We usually never spring for dessert, but today we got an apple dumpling ala mode. So good!!! So yeah, in the end, we got two steak dinners, a meal for my daughter and a dessert for less than $40. Can't beat that. read more

We had a late lunch in Amish country and loved this little place. They take only cash but have an ATM machine in their lobby. We had various salads and two of us had the chicken dinner. For ten bucks I had corn, spuds, chicken breast, thigh and wing. Great pie and coffee. I had the rhubarb pie. The apple dumpling my wife ordered was good too. This place is hard to beat.
