We love coming here for breakfast when we stay in Amish Country. The service and food are always great. This is where the locals most definitely eat. There is usually a line but they do their best to get people in and out the best they can. They accept cash only. The dining area is always neat and clean. Definitely stop in if you're in the area, you'll be glad you did.

We came on a Saturday afternoon and it was pretty busy- the line went out the door. Seemed like the most busy spot on the street, but the line went quickly. The restaurant is cozy and comfortable and service is friendly and quick. We enjoyed the food, it was nothing too special, but classic and homey flavors. The flavors were good overall. We loved the pie as well!

Homestyle meals, extensive pie list, cute locals diner feel. Amish buffet not your thing? Eat here! Same type of food but better and without a sneeze gaurd. Parking lot around the back.

My brother and I made a quick trip from Canton to Berlin, winding up here at Boyd & Wurthmann. This Amish restaurant had the freshest bread for a sandwich I have ever had. The bologna sandwich was terrific, the slaw was like my mom's, and the iced tea was steeped to a strength I've never had in a restaurant. My brother said his grilled cheese was great. The service was prompt and friendly and the prices are very reasonable. The only negative (which really isn't a true negative) is the restaurant does not accept credit or debit cards. The sign was clearly written to us to see as we entered, but somehow missed it. Thankfully we had enough cash to cover our meal. If you're in Amish Country, you should definitely give this place a try.

The charm is strong, the service is great, and the food is fine. The only issue is that B&W is a victim of its own hype - which I don't think it lived up to. Counter to my intuition, the parts that met/exceeded expectations were the side salad and the bread. The salad was taken up a notch by the homemade ranch that accompanied it. The thick homemade bread was good on its own, but a few squirts of the table side peanut butter spread and apple jam is a must-do! Beyond that, the Roast Beef was good but the "Noodles Over Mashed Potatoes" didn't do it for me. Both were listed as "Boyd's favorites" and get high marks from the masses. I wasn't as impressed. The Butterscotch pie was a good call, but I would pass on the Black Raspberry Pie if I had a do-over. I wish the "double crust" dessert actually had more crust because its ratio to the black raspberry filling was ludicrously low. On the bright side, I took the excess filling to go, so it will survive in the afterlife - apropos for the location.

Lunch today at Boyd & Wurthmann Restaurant in Berlin, Ohio! Really great food, excellent service and very charming town! I would definitely recommend this restaurant and especially the pie! It was very busy but we were seated quickly and the food came out fast. Our server was super friendly and checked on us regularly too! Great place to eat and then do some shopping or site seeing!

We were in the area and everyone recommended this restaurant. It's older but you definitely get the Amish feel. They bring you bread and 2 sauces. The peanut butter was amazing. My son ordered the chicken sandwich, I ordered pot roast, and my husband ordered fried chicken. First you can tell everything is made there. The mayonnaise was nice and yellow it was delicious. The side of corn was real corn my kids ate most of mine. The roast beef was delicious. The fried chicken was nice and crispy. Service was perfect. This is definitely a must stop if you're in the area.

We were first here in 2020, so everyone was off work and visiting places like this. The line was long & the wait was long. This time, we're at a conference in Wooster & drove down for dinner and had only a 5-10 min wait. They were still busy & full, but not with a line downtown the sidewalk. Our server was pleasant, but also very busy, hustling around to take care of all her tables. The food was excellent and my husband , who got the exact same meal as last time, commented "it's as good as I remember it!" He was a happy camper! We weren't terribly hungry, so we didn't order any appetizers. We were offered the fresh warm bread & butter. They have squeeze bottles on the table of apple butter & a peanut spread/syrup. Thick enough to spread, but thin enough to squirt out of the bottle. I tried a tiny bit, but it was too sweet for my taste. Hubby ordered the roast beef dinner & got mashed potatoes & noodles as his sides. Gravy on the mashed potatoes & more on the side to add to the roast beef. The roast beef, which I tasted, was shredded, tender & juicy; not dry at all, even without gravy. I decided to try the chicken-fried-steak. It was thicker than any I've ever had, and very crisp coating! I loved that! You can get it with gravy on it or not. I also got the mashed potatoes/gravy as a side as well as green beans. The beans were tender but not over cooked and the only seasoning on them (she told me) is butter. I prefer a chicken gravy, but the brown beef gravy was still good. It's so rich & flavorful, hubby wished I knew how to make it (& the roast) like that! While we were waiting to be seated, I notices signs about fresh strawberry pie now available! But when I asked, I found out it was gone. So I ordered the black raspberry pie- DELICIOUS! And that whipped cream (you choose if you want it)! SO thick, & creamy and not overly sweet! The best whipped cream I can remember having! It was made with real black raspberries & has the seeds in in- not some gooey processed filling that comes out of a bag. Our server said they make the pies fresh every morning. I ate half my pie, then half my meat & potatoes and all the green beans. I know what I'm having tomorrow! It's probably good we don't live near here, or we'd go broke & gain weight! Meals aren't cheap, by any means. You'll pay what you pay at most sit down restaurants, but you do get a lot of food for your money. Oh- I wanted to address the cash issue. On this site they're listed as cash only, no credit cards. But they DO accept personal checks; I called twice before coming to verify that. They also do have an ATM in their small entry.

Editing because I realized that I just paid $75 for my kids to eat a frozen hamburger patty and 2 reheated frozen chicken tenders and cottage cheese, in addition to my terrible meal 2 stars MAX. I came here when I was in town a couple of years ago for breakfast and when I found myself here again today, I decided to grab a late lunch. I ordered the smothered chicken and a sweet tea- which it turns out is from a fountain and tastes like chlorine. I asked to have it replaced with an orange soda and the server kindly brought me a Pepsi instead, along with the heel of some homemade bread. Lol The chicken was cold and dry, with a nondescript honey mustard flavor, and the green beans taste like they were rolled in vegetable oil and not seasoned at all. Truly the worst meal I've ever had in this area. I actually left the restaurant hungry. The only reason I gave it 3 stars is because breakfast is actually good here.

Hot roast beef sandwich w mashed potatoes and gravy. Noodles over mashed potatoes (tastes like Lipton's chicken noodle soup!

A buffet can't get any better than this, they also have a menu that you can order off of. This review is for their Walnut Creek location, there is also a location right off of I-71. We chose to order off the menu instead of the buffet because we chose for better dinning. Salad and bread came to the table and was delish! As we enjoyed, we overheard the table behind us complain about lukewarm chicken. Kind of disappointing to overhear but we figured it came from the buffet. Our dinners took a while to come out so we assumed ours would be just fine. WRONG! I ordered three-piece dark meat, and it was lukewarm and very dry, like it sat under a heat lamp for some odd reason. My wife ordered three-piece white meat and found it extremely dried out and the skin was very dark almost burned like it stayed too long in the oven. I don't understand what is going on in the kitchen, but this is NOT the Der Dutchman that we've known in the past. It was always a pleasure to enjoy home cooked meals there. I'm very sorry to give such a bad review on a place we've loved to eat at but I believe knowledge is power and Der Dutchman should be looking at these two issues with summer travel upon them.

My BF was so enamored with Oscar that we might have to stay at one of the honeycomb suites just to lure Oscar into staying a night with us, LOL! So back to the restaurant here--wow! I'm not easily impressed with fine dining or upscale American fare but this place gave me a great experience. We didn't have reservations but they were able to offer us the last table for two. The ambiance was classy, modern with a classic twist and filled with complementary lighting for that romantic view. Our waiter was animated, warm and very knowledgeable about all the dishes. The free "bread" that was offered was so unique and good we bought a second helping. I had a clams tapas dish that had a good enough portion to keep me full! BF and I were impressed with the taste, presentation, speed of service and menu selection. It was more upscale but not overly expensive. Just wonderful. Would love to come back just to try their brunch.
