While in for our vacation we stopped here for dinner. We were prompty sat near the kitchen and music speaker that made it uncomfortable to dine. After asking one clueless waitress if we could move (her answering we couldn't), another (Pookie) moved us toward the front. MUCH better. The food came out promptly ad my wife's Quinoa Stir Fry was super good (I liked it too), but my Bacon Ranch pasta was *COLD*. I had to wait a bit til Pookie waited on a party of 7, but eventually the other waitress got my dish and it was fixed in 5-6 minutes. My food was eventually good, but should have been first time out. Save your money, don't go! The food was ok. The service was terrible. The waitresses need to be trained in customer service. The salads were brought with our meals instead of before. There was six at our table and all of us but two got chicken tenders. The owner wants to be a green restaurant and I can appreciate that but there is nothing to tell you that when you go in. Don't ask for straws or extra napkins they won't give them to you. I think the only way that they have been in business for 3 years is from all the tourists that have never been there. 3 of the 5 tables that was there when we were said they would never go back. Everything we ask her about the menu, she did not know. But that wasn't the worse part. I ask for a straw, she said we don't have any. I ask for paper napkins, she said we don't have any, we ask for lemon for our water, she said we don't have any. I ask for pickle for my $18. Hamburger, she said we don't have any. I ask for Tomato and onion and mayonnaise on my $18. Hamburger, it came with nothing on it. I ask again and finally she brought out my mayonnaise. Oh and did I mention, they have fride pickles on the appetizer menu, so does that mean, they just have them come in frozen and thry are not homemade? My friend ask for a tea to go and guess what, they mysteriously found a straw. We ask her what the deal was about having a straw for a go drink but not for us. She laughed and said, we are eco friendly and the owner doesn't want straws or paper napkins in her restaurant. They are definitely NOT customer friendly. After being seated waitress took our drink order. We were told that they have no straws or paper napkins. Waitress knew very little about the menu. Had to ask for drink refills and ice. Do not waste your money! The food tasted ok, but they need to improve on customer service. The waitress was friendly but I felt she needed more training. Our group of 6 asked for extra napkins and we were told they don't have napkins (only the polyester napkins our silverware was wrapped in). *a person in our party went to the bathroom and brought us back paper napkins. We asked for straws and were told they don't have straws (but when we left, one person in our party asked for a to-go drink and got a straw).There was no salt or pepper on the table (had to ask for every little thing). First impression of decor was good, but it was dark over our table. Again, a very pricey meal and not customer oriented. The waitress claimed that they don't give out extra napkins and straws because they are trying to be eco-friendly. Pleasantly surprised with the quality of the food! I shared with the staff you can easily taste the freshness and I could only compare it with food I've had in Europe. Tonight we had a dinner at a new place downtown Millersburg called The Cider Press. Food was great, place is quaint and cute, wait staff and manager are friendly attentive and evwent above and beyond for us when we had a problem with one of the meals. We even sat around talking and ordering drinks to close the place down. read more

My wife and I chose the Cider Press for dinner tonight 4/18/2024. First impressions were good when we first went in. Order drinks , no straws. Ordered fried pickles for appetizer ( no small plates had to ask) , I asked if I could have some wing sauce waitress said no they are only for wings. Salad came , I asked her for some Parmesan cheese she told me no they didn't have any. ( menu had pasta). The napkins were polyester so I asked for regular napkins she informed me they were out but could get me paper towels , I said no thanks. I ordered (get this) PARMESAN Crusted pork chop over bow tie pasta, my wife ordered chicken PARMESAN both came with a roll with Parmesan cheese, I asked for some butter for both of us waitress left and returned to inform us that they did not have any extra ! We did not want anything for free , we never were given the option for everything we requested. Also there was a large crowd of 20 + or - They were so noisy we had to yell at each other to hear ,no big deal a large party with be loud I guess they were really loud. We should have never been seated right by them. Water glass empty had to stop waitress. Oh our waitress was not waiting on large party. So, No straws , not that bad. No Parmesan cheese FOR YOU , with Italian dishes. No napkins. Fresh out! No wing sauce, for you , I've never been told it's only for wings! Is ketchup only for fries? Fried potatoes were slightly undercooked and prices on the menu were wrong. The omelets were a few dollars more then listed, but the Southwestern was tasty. This was the best meal I've had in quite a while. I had the quinoa veggie stir fry, and the flavors were sweet/savory and well balanced. Delicious. The side greens and grains salad was simple--as described--and the default dressing was tangy and fresh. A dry hard cider (something like "Fiery Ellick," maybe?) was a delicious accompaniment. Because I was overlooked when I entered the restaurant ("A woman alone, she must be waiting for someone," I bet they thought, incorrectly), it was about 5 minutes before I was seated--with apologies that really weren't necessary. And after I had eaten my fine meal, they brought me a dessert sampler along with another apology for my initial wait. Oh, baby. Heaven. Slices of apple and pound cake, beside two whipped creamy fruity toppings that were to die for. Here's the thing: I don't like sweet wine, hard cider, food, or even desserts (well, I mean, please half the sugar is ample). And this dessert was sweet--especially the pound cake. But the apple with creamy toppings was not too sweet for me. It was all delicious. I ate too much, but enjoyed every bite. The cost of the meal was reasonable in this day and age.
