Wow, my wife showed up a few weeks early to make a new patient appointment. She spent about a half…read morehour filling out the forms, then turned them in to the receptionist so she wouldn't have to fill them out on appointment day. Now, a few weeks later, we come back for our appointment and the forms she filled out are gone. They think they were shredded. Why would they ask her to spend her time to fill them out if they were just going to throw them away? And then now, as she's filling out the forms on the iPad "kiosk", she stops to look up some of the information they're asking for and the device logs her off, erasing everything that she's entered up to that point. And the staff can't help because the device didn't save anything, so they ask her to fill it all out AGAIN. Now, things happen, and how the staff deals with customers goes a long way to how the patients react to these things. The staff here is very rude. Even when they apologize, you can hear the disdain in their voice. If you don't want to work here, then don't. But don't take it out on the patients. That's not a way to stay in business.

I saw him again in July to assess how my new blood pressure pills were working. It worked great & my blood pressure was controlled right away. All of my labs are normal so he said it's ok to have a follow up in 6 months. I like the PA. I have no issues with him. My issues are 100% about the protocols in place at this office. They require you to call the office every 3 months for your refills. Why can't they just give me a prescription with enough refills for one year like normal doctors offices??? If that's not frustrating enough, I can't call for my refills until 7 days exactly before I run out of meds. I use a mail order pharmacy so this is not ok. The first time I tried to call for refills, it was a month ahead & they said I have to call back a week before. So I called back 8 days before my prescription runs out, and they said I had to call back THE NEXT DAY!!! Why???? This is so ridiculous. They said it was because my prescription insurance won't fill it early but that's a lie because I receive notifications from my pharmacy to get a refill a month before it's due so they would have accepted it a month in advance. So now (early Dec) I'm almost out of my meds again, and I asked for another refill. I have my 6-month follow up appt in Jan. The office said they won't refill my med unless I see the doctor again before hand. I just saw him 5 months ago, and he said I just need to come in after 6 months. I told the office this, and they said it was office policy. Their policies make no sense, and I feel like it's all just a money making scheme because I keep getting charged here & there for things that should be completely covered under my health insurance. I never argued about it, and I paid what I owed since it was only $20-50. This ridiculous refill process is just not worth my time. I switched to another doctor that I know for sure gives one year refills. Save yourself the trouble & do NOT go to this office.

I have been a regular patient with them for years and I am sad to say that it ends. I was sick a month back with a fever and headache, so I made an appointment to Dr. Ayala to get checked out. It was to my dismay that I was not seen by Dr. Ayala as always, but by another doctor who ended up diagnosing me with a Puerto Rico mosquito virus. $65 later, I was told to just tough it out and come back for a blood test. The results were never given to me until this day despite my calls to find out. My wife has been recently feeling under the weather and went in to see the doctor for some antibiotics. She was prescribed some along with some steroids. Afraid that she is possibly pregnant, she went to ask if the steroids were safe to take and was met with the doctor screaming in the lobby that she was too busy for small questions and my wife would have to make an appointment to be listened to. My wife cried all the way of embarrassment. Strike two and done. Bye bye.

After the tests were complete, they wanted an additional $50 to sign the paperwork. This was after multiple appointments had to be made due to their incompetence and inability to run the tests properly, resulting in having to take time out of my day to return (multiple times) so they could get it done correctly. Then, after all that, and the tests are finally completed, they wanted $50 to sign the paperwork confirming the results of the tests (which was supposed to be part of the follow up). And now as I'm trying to get a hold of someone in the office, I can either speak to their AI "representative" (that cannot help me) or get forwarded to a mailbox that is full and get hung up on. Although there were just a few people in the waiting room, the wait was a bit longer than expected but still reasonable. Rene was an excellent medical assistant and I wish all healthcare professionals that I meet were like that. He was very kind and did everything to make sure you felt comfortable. NP Kamrin was a bit rude and insensitive to my pain and wasn't helpful overall. I felt like she was on a power trip writing prescriptions for everything on the planet.
