I can see why this place gets good and bad reviews. This urgent care is located in front of the Publix Plaza on 301 & Symmes. Very easy to find and right next to a Dunkin' Donuts if you're needing a snack. Check in was swift and courteous, front staff was very kind. You'll need to put a card on file for them to charge on. Although there were just a few people in the waiting room, the wait was a bit longer than expected but still reasonable. Rene was an excellent medical assistant and I wish all healthcare professionals that I meet were like that. He was very kind and did everything to make sure you felt comfortable. NP Kamrin was a bit rude and insensitive to my pain and wasn't helpful overall. I felt like she was on a power trip writing prescriptions for everything on the planet. I went in as a walk in for a COVID test. They advised that the wait was usually 30 mins to 1 hour, but do to increase of testing it may take longer. I was prepared to wait a while. I was told I can wait in my car and they would call me when it was my turn. The facility is directly next to Dunkin Donuts donuts and also other places in the same plaza like Publix. There was parking close to the building. Once it was my turn to get tested (2 hours later), we were first taken for vitals and then the exam room. They were very thorough and explained the difference between rapid and PCR. My two years old was also getting tested (which I was nervous about) but they were so good with her and she only jumped a bit. No tears at all! That's a win in my book. read more

Went here to get X-rays on my foot... the X-ray tech said "You will get a call later today about the results." However it's been a week and I still haven't heard from them. I've tried to give them multiple calls, I've logged into MyChart, etc. I've done all the things I could to get ahold of them and they won't even answer the phone. They didn't check my temperature with my other vitals. I was clear about my symptoms. First flag. Then the 3 individuals before me were quickly diagnosed with sinus infection. The arpn attempted that diagnosis so I had to explain my symptoms twice to her and the difference with a sinus infection. I told her again I had a fever. Still no temperature check. Finally got swabbed for flu and Covid. Tested positive for flu. Nice staff but they do not listen at all to patients. I won't go back. read more

Front desk lady is super nice and so are the nurses. The doctor however is not so nice she was a little rude kinda gave me an entitled vibe and was trying to get me out asap which is what you want in an urgent care but as long as the process is done right and it felt like we skipped all the steps. All she had me do was raise my legs and ask what hurt. It honestly felt like the nurses loved their jobs and the doctor didn't wanna be there a second longer. Most discourteous and unprofessional medical professionals I have seen in a long time. They have no sense of urgency at this urgent care. From the receptionists to some ignorant office manager and disorganized triage nurse, this urgent care needs human relations training. I have served over 28 years in military service and cannot believe the experience my son had here. We were told to wait in the car along with everyone else until we were called. When we were called, we immediately went in. And waited. And waited. And waited. And waited. Only to be told to have a seat because they took someone else who was sitting in the lobby. Ahhhhh you told us to go outside and wait in the car. My son could barely walk. The sign said larents of adults were allowed if they needed assistance. However, I was not allowed to go in with my son. There are three more urgent cares nearby....I highly suggest and encourage anyone to use the other clinics. If you're sick, I wouldn't even bother coming here. I've been here multiple times, and each time- I get an assistant to the doctor that diagnoses me. Now that wouldn't be an issue, but she told me during my visits today "well if I had to guess, you have a sinus infection". Having someone "guess" about your health and the medicine they are giving you, is just unacceptable. The front desk barely even looked my way- except for one lady who was really nice. The other two receptionist ignored me and continued talking to each other. This urgent care should be your LAST resort. I've lived in Riverview my entire life, and the other urgent cares in the area are so much better. I will never be returning here, and I don't recommend this place to anyone. read more

I would give them no stars if I could! First off, good luck calling the office! The number just takes you to a corporate office where nobody seems to know anything about you! Second the service level from the chat is a laugh! I was over 2 hours begging to have a doctor to kindly send me a prescription for a cough that they had already treated me for! The medicine I was given didn't work which could happen, but after calling, messaging, and literally begging for help, they referred me to a virtual visit for which I was going to have to pay more money! They had already seen me, diagnosed me and now they wanted more money to see me again for the same condition I initially went to see them! It's like a game of ping pong at this place! Worst medical care provider I have ever encountered! Zero sympathy! Zero compassion! Zero respect for their customers! They billed you, and when you need help they'll just pass you along to their sister hospital to financially rape you again! read more

I went here for a pre-employment drug screening and this was the worst experience. DO NOT GO HERE. They are unsanitary, which is bad during normal times and unconscionable during a global pandemic. Let me outline the most flagrant fouls first... 1. I went into the bathroom to give them the urine sample and they didn't clean the bathroom between patients! There was still pee on the seat! 2. When I gave the technician the sample, she had me use a pen that she has already used to sign the paperwork. Who knows if people before me used this pen? 3. When she put a cap on the sample, she actually walked away from me and turned her back! While I don't take drugs, I'm now concerned that she tampered with my sample. Now to other things they definitely need to fix... 4. I went on a Tuesday night at 7pm, an hour before they close. They said that the cut off for drug screenings is 6pm. However this was not on their website. 5. I come in the following day and there are about seven people in the waiting area. Whenever someone got up, TGH didn't bother to sanitize the chair before someone else sat down. Other healthcare facilities actually clean and sanitize chairs between patients. 6. When they checked me in, I gave them my driver's license. They gave it back to me (as they should) without sanitizing it. The people at the front desk did not have gloves on and they were touching other people's licenses. Other health care facilities will actually wipe down your license in front of you before giving back to you. 7. After waiting for a hour to just pee in a cup, I was called to started my drug screen. When I went to the room for the drug screen, they didn't have a locker for me to put my purse in. I was told to leave it in the room with the technician. I don't know her. Will she go through my things while I peeing in a cup? TGH really needs to improve their sanitation and hygiene protocols and invest in training their people. DO NOT GO THERE FOR ANYTHING, ESPECIALLY A DRUG SCREEN! read more

Only giving 2 stars because I've been here a few times and have never had a problem until today. Kelli Warns was so rude and dismissed everything I was asking. And to top it off, gave me a packet on how antibiotics work.. when I have my bachelors in the health field and have worked at Tampa General Hospital. I had to wait a while but it definitely was not their fault. Patience is key but overall very pleased with their customer service and quality of care. I was seen by CHERYL NEWCOMB, ARNP, she came with a nice facade with bright blue eyes at first, but she took advantage of the fact that I was nervous and slowly became rude and disrespectful as the visit went on. When I asked about split payment she disgustingly replied "Yeah whatever" as she walked out the door after charging me more $ for a throat swab that led to nothing. It's like after she convinced me I might have STREP and to get the lab test, her mask was torn off to reveal two faces. When I went to go pay I told the receptionist that I was doing split payments. Without even looking at me she nods her head. When she finally looks up she asks me how I'm paying, so I repeated it. 3 minutes go by and she keeps asking if I'm going to pay the rest later. But I have my credit card in my hand....and the other half in cash in my hand....she seemed to be under the influence because after I actually paid she tried rudely handing me another patients credit card and rolled her eyes as she wished me a good night. I laughed to myself and told her this wasn't my credit card. She seemed so lost and I think she thought I was joking because she didn't seem to care. Once I arrived home I realized she actually prescribed me Amoxyclyn, which would have killed me. I'm highly allergic and she never asked me once to make sure I filled the paperwork out correctly. My husband and I came in December 31 at 6:30 pm. He had a minor cough for a couple months but in the past few days it had gotten significantly worse. He would wake feeling heaviness in his lungs. So we came here to get him checked out. He had some heart issues in the past and takes lisinopril and amiodorone. The nurse practitioner came in with his paper in her hand laughing and said "oh you're on lisinopril. You have "ACE" cough." As if you can't get any other illness while taking lisinopril. She had already decided that was the diagnosis without even checking him out. She did not even look in his throat or anything. Her name was Katina. The past 2 days he has had trouble breathing and has been using an inhaler to get through the day. Today, he can barely talk. This is not "ACE" cough. I work at a doctors office and this is unacceptable treatment. read more

If I could give this place 0 stars I would! It's taken me some time to write this due to just not even wanting to think about the experience I had here. I came here because I was sick and had been for about a week. I also had a small ant bite looking bump on my arm. This was all when "monkey pox" was a big deal. I let the doctor know that I had this bump on my arm and immediately she started yelling at me, assuming it was monkey pox. Which if you've seen monkey pox a small ant bite is NOT at all what they look like. She screamed at me for a good 5 minutes before she kicked me out and then wouldn't even allow me to checkout. She LOUDLY whispered in front of everyone in the office (it's MONKEYPOX) to the girl at the front desk. Being that everyone in the office heard, including the patients, I would say is in violation of HIPPA laws. She snapped at me to "JUST GO" as I was crying and trying to check out. I left the place absolutely hysterical as I have medical PTSD from having several chronic illnesses and bad experiences with hospitals and doctors. It is hard enough to go to doctors offices. Once I went to the ER and explained what I had went through every last staff member who I came in contact with was so apologetic. When you sign up to be in the medical field you know that you are willingly signing up to be potentially exposed to diseases and illnesses, day in and day out. You should be leery of their shady billing and business practices. They refuse to collect your Urgent care co-pay make you wait for your insurance EOB to be processed weeks later. Then they make you sign paperwork that you will agree to pay up to $150 for the visit, despite your insurance saying your only responsible for $35. Additional, you are also required to sign additional paperwork PRE-Authorizing your credit card on file for ten (10) more visits over the next twelve months. Who does this?? read more

The ladies at the front desk weren't so pleasant either trying to comfort or reassure any patients about the wait time. They were also rude to patients for asking questions. Perfect service. I made a last minute appointment. Walking in I noticed how clean it was inside. The decor is pleasing, you don't necessarily feel like you're walking into a doctors office. The front desk staff were friendly and handled the check in process quickly. If you have an appointment you're seen ahead of those that don't. I probably waiting 10 minutes or so before being called back. The gentleman took my history and vitals then took me to the room to see the doctor. I was lucky enough to see Dr. Williams. I would strongly recommend seeing her. She's very nice, honest and went over things with me other urgent care doctors did not. Although she was quick, she made sure I understood her instructions and I felt it was the best experience I've had at an urgent care facility. My appointment was at 9:30 I walked out at 10:30. That's what I'm talking about. I hope I don't have to visit often but when I don't feel like waiting for an appointment with my PCP I will definitely see Dr. Williams again. read more

Wouldn't recommend unless you want to add to the stress of being very ill by getting lackluster care, being made to feel like just a number, getting told completely incorrect medical/medication info, and having to deal with the circus that is their staff! The physician has given me the runaround regarding better treatment options for days, despite diagnosing me with multiple acute infections and having the knowledge for days that although I'm not getting worse, I've been unable to sleep more than a few hours for days. Then I find out it's all a rouse to get me to come back, pay another $75+, and maybe, just maybe, I'll get treated like the sickly person that I am and actually get a prescription for something to tame my symptoms. In the end, anyone with half a brain knows that a patient with very obvious sinusitis and acute bronchitis complaining of coughing fits/disrupted sleep desperately needs just a wee bit of prescription cough syrup, but this facility finds it acceptable to treat me as nothing more than a drug seeker. Like most states, Florida has a very accessible prescription monitoring program, so it is known instantly that I have no red flags, no history of prescription drug misuse/overuse, no doctor shopping, and never any illicit drug use. So, it's just a doctor on a power trip deciding to add to my misery and an altogether uncaring and inefficient staff. I hope their staff remembers this the next time they or a loved one have a legitimate infection causing unrelenting coughing and envision how hopeless it'd feel to not get the proper symptom relief for no really good reason. read more

Clean facility with good parking and access. Courteous front desk. Basic but comfortable waiting room. This place functions exactly as a fast track care facility should. Patients are seen based on triage, or in order of severity. Not first come, first serve like a fast food place. It does no good to complain because you got there first. I've been here twice & this place deserves the 5 stars I'm giving :) This first time was back in Sept when I needed to get my toddler a physical to start daycare. I used their self pay option instead of insurance . They had us in and out within an hour. I had setup an appt and was seen right on time. The 2nd time was yesterday when my child suddenly became sick so I didnt have time to make an appt. This time i was out within 45min . Heather (the nurse practitioner) was so good with my child and made her feel very comfortable :) I used self pay again and the ladies at the front desk were nice enough to go over what my final cost would probably be. read more

Terrible experience. I was seen close to closing on a weeknight with nobody else in the waiting room. Female doc with bushy hair was rude, dismissive and interrupted me as i tried to express my concerns. She told me my painful throat glands werent that swollen and i was being dramatic. Techs were similar in they made me feel like i was inconveniencing them. I was given a rapid test for strep and flu and then sent on my way with a z pack, which wont do anything for viral infections. A few days later i visited a different urgent care chain a few miles away and was treated with kindness and respect. They gave me a cortisoid shot and a real antibiotic and i felt better the next day. Stay away from this place, it was awful from start to finish. read more

I've visited this facility more than once for myself and my children simply for convenience sake, and remain disappointed. I will not be returning. Most recently, I took my daughter to be seen and was asked to fill out the same form mentioned previously, authorizing a $150 charge. I wasn't informed that there was an insurance issue (which was easily remedied by updating a policy number) and my card was charged 3 months after the date of service. I contacted the billing office AND the physical location, only to get the run-around about getting a refund, even though they now have an open claim on my insurance policy. read more

We waited, waited, and waited. I'm not sure how they take patients but 6 people were called back before us and arrived after us. I'm unaware of any call ahead system so that was frustrating. I think perhaps they just forgot we were there, perhaps thought we left? The waiting room is small. The forms were extremely long and pushes their program to use without insurance. Perhaps they could create an online system for their forms. The receptionists weren't friendly. If you think it will be quick and easy, this place is the opposite. With an hour wait and only 3 other people upon arrival. We won't returnIt's sad that we most likely would have been helped faster in an actual ER. So then we're finally seen 10 minutes before they close where a "doctor" whom I would like to actually verify has a medical license says you'll be fine go home. Be sure to return if it swells. I'm not sure how you actually diagnose a swelling without actually looking at it. Most doctors I would imagine would actually like to do canine a condition or issue but perhaps they don't there. I literally had to ask like more swelled than it is now? We did come all the way here here because of that! I'm excited to see how much they bill after the doctor was in the room for 5 entire minutes to say just go home. It would have been nice if they actually helped us rather than shoving us out the door because they were closing. After all, we did wait an hour and half just to be seen. Update to Chelsea: Rushing a patient out without even examining the issue is not good practice and there's nothing medical about it. We had to go to an actual DR., the emergency room, the very next night. It was infected and worsened. I believe if your staff actually took time to do an exam, your staff should have known that. Also, I'm not sure if your clocks are working but we sat way over 51 minutes. I know what time we arrived and what time you closed. And honestly, I expect to wait for an actual medical professional which we did not experience. NO one reached out to us. If our insurance has any questions, they'll contact you. Thank you. read more

On Dec 1, I was at this place for nearly three hours...after my vitals were taken, I even feel asleep on the table for I don't know how long waiting. After the worst interaction with any medical staff in my life, I wrote a review to warn others. I get a call after I wrote it...where was the concern beforehand while I was actually there to rectify the situation? Are the patients not that important until you get outed on reviews?...I was obviously very disappointed before I left when it really mattered. So I read the other horrible reviews for this place and they sound very similar to my experience. Afterwards, they have their "public affairs rep" write a rebuttal to offset the bad reviews...just a bunch of canned statements in an attempt to lessen the exposure to poor customer service and subpar patient care...I didn't even bother wasting my time returning the call. I simply had severe flu-like symptoms and was taking cough syrup until I could see a doctor...so they offered up more cough syrup...go figure! Today I feel no better that I did five days ago (visit) or for the last 10 days (initial sign of flu)...I get to see a medical staff tomorrow with good bedside manner and great medical practice, who sincerely care for patients and not come across as if profits are the driving factor. They seemed to be understaffed, focused on what's good for them vs the patient, and very reactionary after the've failed. Receptionist (Black female) very unfriendly and talks very low...not the front person I would want for my business. Be proactive, go elsewhere. The location may be great but certainly doesn't match the expected patient experience. read more
