The whole place was very clean. The bed was pretty uncomfortable, but we're used to sleeping on a memory foam mattress at home. Our son slept on the pull out bed and was comfortable, but cold as it only had a lightweight waffle blanket. We loved that it was an end unit so we had side view windows and great natural light. The lighting at night in the unit wasn't that great even with all of the switches on. The bathroom has seen better days as it looked like there has been water damage to the floor, wall, and ceiling. Front desk staff were nice and helpful. We would definitely stay again, but might choose a different unit.

This cozy hotel, nestled near Petosky and surrounded by many wineries, is the most fabulous boutique hotel. The outdoor trees are beautifully decorated and it makes you feel like you're in a hallmark movie. As we drove up, and parked we were met by an employee who knew our names and took our bags to our room. Felt like I was in Dubai getting VIP status service again. Our check-in was swift, and we were given a tour of the downstairs which had an amazing bar with a roaring fire, and free snacks and waters. It also had a small gym, and a game room containing a billiards table. Once we finally got to the room we were so shocked. The room was massive and absolutely breath taking. The bed was extremely comfortable, and the sheets were super soft. The highlight was the outdoor patio. We got a room on the first floor. The patio came enclosed with heaters so that you can go out and look out at the lake and not freeze. During Christmas they put a Christmas tree on each patio. Very romantic and festive. Service is, by far, the number one thing about this place. The hotels beauty is obvious, but it only goes so far if the service isn't there. We loved every minute of our stay. The bartender in the evening was the best. We sat there for hours and just chatted. He was very personable, and fun to talk to. We also wanted to use the jacuzzi, so the front desk employee went, and opened it up for us even though it was freezing outside. They also let us stay 20 minutes past the hours of operation without question. There were many more things we didn't do like snow shoeing on the lake, but they offer many things for kids, families, or outdoor enthusiasts. Overall, this was probably one of the best vacations we have had. From the service to Amenities they checked every box. If you are looking for romance, or even a family get away then this place is a must. We also took advantage of the wineries in the area. They are still open in the winter. I wish I would of snapped more photos for all to see, but I was wanted to live in the moment and not technology. This place has won many awards as a top wine hotel in the country. Just make sure you call way in advance for reservations. They book up extremely early. We booked a year in advance.

You'll have all day privileges and it's quite beautiful. Downstairs for quiet contemplation and upstairs for treatments. There are also fitness classes, workout equipment, an indoor/outdoor pool and hot tubs. The spa and our facial treatments were well worth it. Thereafter, chose to dine and walk the resort's grounds. She's usually behind the bar and he's waiting tables. Some of the best service we've ever had. We became friends with them after one weekend there. All the food is decent. Fun place to hang out.

She requested a first-floor condo which was nice - if you're on the second floor, there is no elevator. We had a two bedroom, two full bath condo. Originally the first friend and I were sharing the king bed, and the second friend had the queen bedroom to herself, but since I snore I later moved to the pullout couch. The master bathroom is also huge, with a soaking tub, and was really nice. You also get a full kitchen witch cookware, glasses, cutlery, etc. The reason this gets four stars not five is because our door randomly locked us out once - apparently this has happened before too, the security lock thing latched after we left and it was bizarre. My friend called the front desk and they came very quickly to let us in though. The other reason is because they do try to pitch you a bit - they called not once but twice asking if my friend (the timeshare owner, though technically it's her mom) wanted to take advantage of another deal they were offering (my presumption was in exchange for sitting through a timeshare presentation). That being said, this was way nicer than a typical hotel room so I'd love to stay again sometime.

No one was in the lobby when we arrived, but we txt the owner per her emailed instructions and she arrived within a couple of minutes. She gave us all the instructions we needed for the stay. They even have a cork board to leave notes in case you need anything. Very much a small-town-charming type of thing. The place was very chilly when we arrived. However it warmed up a bit by the time we returned for the day, and the extra blankets were very cozy. My fiance Jeremy and I slept like a rock! So, it's not a hotel. We had no expectation of anyone coming into the room for a turn down service. There were no door signs to say "please clean" or "please do not clean" like in a hotel. However, someone came into the room during our stay. They didn't clean anything. They simply opened the window and replaced the bathroom floor mat. You would think, if you're coming into the room you would make the bed or something? Nope, just changed the mat and opened the window. It was VERY strange! Otherwise the place felt safe and secure. It was quiet in the evenings. We enjoyed some wine by the fireplace before bed each night. They have a fenced in back porch area with grass and lawn furniture. I think that would be really great for families with small children. We had a nice chat with both owners on our way out. They really are very friendly with a lot of great local recommendations. All in all it was a nice and relaxing trip. I would definitely stay here again.

This place has obviously seen better days. It is reasonably clean, doesn't have an unpleasant…read moresmell, but our room had problems--some cosmetic, some not--that make it unlikely we'll stay there again. One of the ceiling tiles was mostly pulled off. Though the sides of the shower stall looked recently replaced, the floor of it was coming apart. More concerning, the door looked like it had been recently jimmied open, and the frame of the window screen was pulled out from the window (see photos)--it wouldn't be hard for someone to pull out the full screen, and if mosquitoes were out they'd be getting in your room. The dresser had a notice taped to it stating that one of its legs was broken--instead of printing out the notice, why not fix the leg? Some of the towels had a distinct yellow stain--we made a point of using the whiter ones. Be aware that the room door locks automatically, and you can't set it to stay unlocked--if you close it behind you, you will be locked out, so check to be sure you've got your key before leaving. We didn't learn this the hard way, but easily could have. At least it was quiet, and close to where we needed to be. I have seen worse, though next time I'm in the area, I'll be looking for something better.
