They also have free vacuuming services right outside the car wash, as well as free mat cleaning and free air. You can also buy a towel from the worker for $5 and exchange it anytime for a fresh towel for free. I I will be back again to wash my car here due to the quality of their wash and excellent service.

Unlike other car washes, they have attendants who hand prep your vehicle by scrubbing with a brush prior to going through the soft cloth tunnel wash. My husband got my WeatherTech car mat dirty with mud a few months ago so I asked the attendant if he could spray it down for me, which he kindly did. It's considerably cleaner now even though it wasn't scrubbed with soap. I gave him a tip as I was so appreciative of him for going above and beyond. River Hill Sunoco got my car running better than it has in over a year, and I finally feel safe on the road again. They treated me with respect and patiently listened to the list of issues I was experiencing. They quickly diagnosed the issue, fully explained it to me, and completed the repair within a couple of hours. I can't say enough about how great my experience was!

In spite of the pecuniary wealth of Clarksville, the area is generally destitute when it comes to…read moreautomotive knowledge. The River Hill Sunoco preys on this ignorance. Late one night, my girlfriend got a flat tire. As I have done dozens, if not hundreds, of times in my life, I removed the old wheel/tire and put on the spare using nothing more than a scissors jack and lug wrench. As I replaced the lug nuts, I threaded them and tightened by hand before using the lug wrench for one last fastening. As it turned out, there was a hole in the sidewall of the old tire, so Sunoco ordered a new tire that was expected to arrive in a few days. In order for us to commute to Baltimore on the spare, "John" the technician tightened up the lug nuts. "John" did so with an air impact wrench (also known as an air hammer, pneumatic impact wrench, etc). A few days later, we took the car back for Sunoco to install the new tire. This time, the Sunoco technician had difficulty removing one of the lug nuts, and one of the studs snapped. After replacing the tire, Sunoco capped the broken stud and offered to replace it at a cost of approximately $100. Through an apparent miscommunication, Sunoco never ordered the new stud, so we took the car elsewhere for repair. At the other garage, my mechanic had to use a breaker bar to remove two of the lug nuts because Sunoco had over-tightened them (see attached photo showing metal shavings from the other over-tightened lug nuts next to the broken stud). Due to the numerous damaged studs, we replaced the entire wheel hub assembly. Naturally, this cost more and caused major inconvenience as the car could not be driven for several days. An objective analysis of the facts leads inescapably to the conclusion that Sunoco over-tightened the lug nuts, causing the catastrophic failure (breaking) of one stud and the effective destruction of two others. When the first stud snapped, Sunoco did not mention any issue with any of the other lugs or studs. The vehicle was entirely within the control of Sunoco, and it was Sunoco that once again tightened the lugs after they replaced the tire. The thing speaks for itself: only Sunoco could have caused the damage to the second and third studs, and the circumstances strongly suggest Sunoco's fault for the first. Through its manager, Adam, Sunoco has enumerated several excuses to absolve itself. First, Sunoco alleged that I "cross-threaded" the lug nuts when I put on the spare. I reiterate that I hand-tightened the lug nuts, and this excuse does not account for the destruction of the second and third studs, which happened after Sunoco replaced the tire. When confronted with the issue of the additional lug nuts' destruction, Sunoco then blamed me for not making the lug nuts tight enough after the tire change and alleged the wheel was "like a loose tooth" when it arrived at Sunoco (which, of course, undercuts its "cross-threaded" theory). Admittedly, I did not have a torque wrench, but to think the lug nuts had come loose on the short drive to Sunoco strains credulity. If it were true, why then did Sunoco not note damage to the other studs at that point? Oddly, Adam denied knowledge of any technician named "John" employed at Sunoco, though he admitted a technician with a similar sounding name does work there (other social media posts about the River Hill Sunoco, e.g. Anglie's List, mention an employee named "John."). Just so there is no confusion, "John" is the technician who has family in the south of France, though I'm sure Adam knew exactly who I was referencing.

It doesn't pay to go to the membership gate. You will be just sitting there waiting on a staff member to come out just to ask if you're a member. Then they finally type in a code. I decided to get the Super wash service, which is their premium service. The wash itself was quick and did a solid job overall, especially when you consider it's an automated setup. In fact, this is the best automated washing I've experienced. What really stands out is the added value of the complimentary towels that are available. Also, the vacuums are free to use, which is a huge plus, and the hoses are on either side of the car so you get two long vacuum hoses to use. Being able to touch up the car afterward without being made to pay an extra cost makes a big difference. One big problem that I have is the limited number of vacuums available. And did I mention that they are FREE to use? Not just for paying customers, but also for non-paying customers. I can bet that half the people using those vacuums did not get a car wash. So after my first car wash I was disappointed that I couldn't vacuum my interior because all the vacuum spots were taken. I recommend getting there early before the vultures come in to vacuum their cars for free and hog up the spaces. All in all I still recommend it if you're looking for a fast, no-hassle wash with some nice perks. Just get there EARLY!

Today however I went through full service, and got the premium package that included the Rain X and tire shine. Now, let me tell you exactly how dirty my tires still are. They half way dried my car, and just wiped briefly over my wheels. It actually looked worse after because they wiped parts of the wheel clean, and left the wheels heavily soiled still. I'll just go back to doing my own thing on the self serve side. The one guy was nice enough to go get my tokens for the free vacuum, after the other guy blew me off about it. So overall the service wasn't bad...just the wash itself.. Somehow after the wash I ended up with what looked like smeared bird poop on my window, and I went over all my windows prior to the wash. Because sometimes the drive through wont get it off, especially the back window. Not to mention there was no bird poop on my car initially...lol #WhoDoneIt

You can go thru the car wash while staying in your car and at the exit an attendant will dry you off. Another option is washing your own car in a stall which I've also done before. I was able to wash my Nissan Armada with all my normal cycles (i.e. rinse, soap, tire cleaner, soap brush, & rinse) with just $5. I'd say that's pretty good time settings in the stalls or I'm just really efficient which is also really true!!! If you opt for the car wash stalls, you'll have to pay to use the vacuums. If you go thru the car wash, free vacuuming is included! Remember to ask for the vacuum token if they don't give it to you. They also offer other cool options like towel service for one time $3 fee, a monthly fee for unlimited car washes, and VIP cards (i.e., a loyalty stamp card) which gives you a free car wash after your 10th wash. The 11th wash isn't just the cheapest wash on the option board either. It's the top tier wash!!!
