We had an unfortunate incident in our home where the toilet line leaked over night and drenched the upstairs rooms down to the downstairs guest room. It was a mess. Insurance helped to a certain extent but said, "Find your own contractor." Being new to the area, this task stressed me out. Especially due to all the horror stories people have with contractors. The perception or reputation of contractors is they have done more bad than good to people's projects. We've heard stories of contractors being dishonest, cheats, taking shortcuts, overcharge, lazy, and do not pay attention to details and keep their promises. Of course this is not true of all contractors, but they are out there and you must beware. So I set out on Yelp to find a contractor, looking for 5 stars only. I found BPP Construction. Reading the reviews made me stop and take notice. I read more stories posted and said to myself, "This is the contractor." I gave them a call and Ben talked with me. He said all the right things and hit all the right points. I was sold from the beginning. My only fear was if this guy backed everything he said with action. Once I gave Ben the green light he was in and out of my house in 2 days. Three rooms, base boards, paint, drywall repair, carpet padding, final touch up, final walk through. Done. Ben's brother, Steve, Helped with the final painting and clean up. He was great. His attention to detail and making sure everything was right was refreshing. He stayed with us until we were satisfied with everything completed. Every step of the way Ben was available. Updating me and letting me know what was going on and confirming everything was done. It's as if he had eyes everywhere. Even when the carpet guy showed up waiting out front in his truck, I knew about it. Not only did Ben give me a heads up what time he'd be there, but he texted me when he arrived. Who does that? If you need a contractor, Ben and his crew are the best I've ever worked with. It's hard to explain to work with true professionals who do what they say and follow through. I'm now sitting in my easy chair after a final day of construction sipping a cup of coffee and watching a movie. I'm so happy we found a contractor in California that is dependable, fair, honest, hardworking, cares about you, your house, and the quality you deserve. read more

Scope of work: I recently (December 2018) hired Ben the owner of BPP construction to repair my balcony, repair the hole in my cement patio deck where I once had a jacuzzi, in addition tackle some little projects around the house, such as replacing termite damaged boards. A key requirement was that I wanted my balcony as close to maintenance free as possible (tired of painting wood and repairing the deck) and I needed a solution where my balcony posts wouldn't rot from rain and have to be repaired in the future . Rain got into the tops of the posts and termites ate the bottom of the posts. Contractor Selection: Of all the contractors I interviewed Ben provided the best solution at a fair price which was the average of all the bids. In addition, he was happy to tackle the small projects around the house. The key differentiators between Ben and other offers that caused me to select him: attention to detail and not cutting corners. i.e. Ben sealed both ends of posts so water can't enter, primer paint boards replaced, sprayed bare wood with a termicide so termite company didn't have to return and spray the new wood. Ben looked for way so save me money without cutting corners such as reusing balcony posts if they were reusable and the glass railing. Repairing the balcony instead of tearing down and rebuilding as some contractors suggested. Waterproofing the balcony deck he uses Life Deck products, which is a reputable company with a verified product rather than a unverified home brew solution. Project completion: I am extremely happy with Ben's work and will recommend him to anyone. Ben will say was he does and does what he says. His workers are all professionals (he doesn't pickup workers off the street/hardware store). His crew cleans up at the end of each day. Ben focuses on completing what he started (doesn't leave the job to start work on another). If you hire Ben be patient. Because he does focus on completing each project, he may not be able to start your project immediately but it's worth the wait. **Bottom line, I feel that I can rest at night knowing that I wasn't screwed by another contractor or find out later they built or repaired my project wrong and I need to spend more money fixing their mistakes. read more

Having been in my home for 27 years, I have had many contractors do many jobs. Most have done a good job and a few not so good. I am writing here to say that Ben Patterson provided the absolute best work and best experience of them all. We had a break in at our home on a Tuesday morning and the door frame was damaged so badly that it made locking the door impossible. I called Ben the next day and he came out within 2 hours, evaluated the damage and gave me his bid. We agreed on a new frame with a pre hung new door. I felt very comfortable with his bid. There was something about his manner, expertise and confidence that established an immediate rapport between us. I knew this was the man I wanted for the job. We wanted the job done as soon as possible due to the lack of security involved. He was sympathetic toward our situation and agreed to do the job the very next morning. He showed up right on time and the work was done to perfection. He explained every detail to me as he went along. He was very adept at overcoming the few small obstacles that come with any job. It became very obvious that that I had hired a man who was a a masterworker at his craft. Every detail, including a spotless cleanup, was done to perfection. On top of all this, Ben is a very personable and highly intelligent man with a great sense of humor. You can tell he loves to help people as much as he loves his job. I highly recommend him to anyone who wants a construction job done with no hassle and great results. I would give him 10 stars if I could!! read more

We hired Ben a few weeks ago to do a roofing job for an unexpected leak just before we were set to go on vacation. Ben was like a Godsend!!! From the moment I spoke with him, each interaction that he had with myself and my husband was like a breath of fresh air. Ben is very knowledgeable and knows his craft. I hired Ben for a second story deck renovation. He explained the entire process of the renovation in detail prior to signing a contract. He charged a very fair and competitive price. Not only is the owner incredibly professional, and the quality of his work is spectacular. Our bathroom was done quickly, efficiently and beautifully.
